What is Extra Disks?
1 part
Extra Disks is an add-on for Refined Storage that adds much bigger item and fluid disks. If your Refined Storage network keeps running out of room, this is the mod that gives you more.[1]
The project page says each item disk and fluid disk can hold an infinite amount of its contents. Its own joke is that this should be enough for water and cobblestone.[1]
It's for you if you already use, or plan to use, Refined Storage for your base storage and want to stop managing disk capacity. It adds disks to a system you already have and doesn't replace it.[1]
This pack ships Extra Disks version 1.21.1-4.0.9.[2]
Where it fits in progression
Unverified The sources I have don't show where Extra Disks fits in the pack's progression. There is no in-jar guidebook for the mod, no quests in this pack involve it, and it is not on the ATM Star quest path. I can't say what you need to unlock its disks, so check the recipes in-game before you plan around them. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you get started with Extra Disks?
2 parts
Extra Disks is an add-on for Refined Storage that adds much bigger item and fluid disks. In this pack there are chemical disks too. Its recipes use Refined Storage items such as processors and Quartz Enriched Iron, so get your Refined Storage basics going first.[1][3][4]
What to make, in order
- Start with the 256k Storage Disk. It is the lowest item tier among the recipes here, so it is the natural first upgrade. The recipe block below shows exactly what this pack asks for.[3]
- Next, craft the Advanced Machine Casing. Every Extra Disks storage block recipe in the list uses it, so you need it before you can make any block.[3]
- Then craft the matching storage block, such as the 256k Storage Block. That gives you a block version of the same tier.[3]
- Climb the tiers one at a time. Item storage blocks go from 256k through 1024k, 4096k, 16384k, 65536k, 262144k and 1048576k, and there is an Infinite Storage Block at the top.[3]

Fluids and chemicals
Fluid disks have their own line. In the recipe list it starts at the 16384B Fluid Storage Disk and goes up to the 1048kB Fluid Storage Disk, with an Infinite Fluid Storage Block above that.[3]
Chemical storage starts at the 65536B Chemical Storage Disk and goes up through the 262kB and 1048kB tiers. There is also an 8388kB tier and an infinite one.[3][4]
How does Extra Disks work?
3 parts
Extra Disks is an add-on for Refined Storage that adds much bigger item and fluid disks. This pack also has chemical versions, which the language file lists. The sources here describe it as a storage add-on, so this section is about the disk tiers and how you craft them.[1][4]
The mod's page says you can store an infinite amount of items and fluids in each of the corresponding disks. The language file also lists Infinite Chemical Storage Disk, Part and Block entries, so an infinite tier exists for chemicals in this pack too.[1][4]
Parts, disks and storage blocks
The chemical tiers each come as a storage part, a storage disk and a storage block, for example the 65536B, 262kB, 1048kB and 8388kB sizes. Item storage blocks in the recipe list run from 256k Storage Block up through 1048m Storage Block. Fluid and chemical tiers are measured in B and kB instead, for example 16384B Fluid Storage Block or 8388kB Chemical Storage Block.[3][4]
The mod also registers item tags for each form and size, such as the large chemical disks, parts and blocks. That is how the block recipes can accept any part of the right size.[3][4]
Crafting the base components
The Advanced Machine Casing is at the heart of every storage block recipe in the visible part of the dump. The Advanced Storage Housing is a separate Extra Disks component. Both are mod recipes, and both are built from Refined Storage materials.[3]

Crafting storage blocks
Every storage block recipe in the visible part of the dump is a shaped crafting recipe built around the Advanced Machine Casing and a part of the matching size. So you get the part for the tier you want first, then turn it into the block. Here is the 1024k item block as an example.[3]

Chemical blocks follow the same idea, with a chemical part of the matching size. Here is the 65536B version.[3]

Unverified The sources here do not show how these blocks and disks behave once placed, such as energy use or how they are prioritized in a network. No in-jar guidebook or config files for this mod were available, so those details are unverified.
How do you progress through Extra Disks?
4 parts
Extra Disks builds on Refined Storage parts. Progression is a ladder of storage tiers across items, fluids and chemicals. Each step up is a bigger disk or block, and the top rung of each kind is an Infinite version.[3]
Unverified The sources here show no quests for this mod. Whatever the pack's quest book says about storage progression is not covered here, so the ladder below comes only from the in-pack recipes.
The tier ladder
Every disk is crafted from the Refined Storage storage part of the matching kind and size, and each tier also has a storage block version.[3]
- Item tiers: 256k Storage Disk, 1024k Storage Disk, 4096k Storage Disk, 16384k Storage Disk, 65536k Storage Disk, 262m Storage Disk, 1048m Storage Disk and finally Infinite Storage Disk.[3]
- Fluid tiers: 16384B Fluid Storage Disk, 65536B Fluid Storage Disk, 262kB Fluid Storage Disk, 1048kB Fluid Storage Disk and finally Infinite Fluid Storage Disk.[3]
- Chemical tiers: 65536B Chemical Storage Disk, 262kB Chemical Storage Disk, 1048kB Chemical Storage Disk, 8388kB Chemical Storage Disk and finally Infinite Chemical Storage Disk.[3]
Shared crafting components
The mod has its own crafted components. The Advanced Storage Housing is used in the shapeless disk recipes. The Advanced Machine Casing is used in every storage block recipe, whatever the kind or tier.[3]

Ways to make a disk
Each disk has a shaped recipe that builds it directly from its storage part. The shapeless recipes shown in the sources instead combine an Advanced Storage Housing with the storage part. Here is the 256k disk both ways.[3]

How does Extra Disks work with other mods?
3 parts
Extra Disks is an add-on for Refined Storage, so almost everything it does connects back to that mod. The in-pack recipes also tie it to Mekanism through the chemical disks and parts, and to the Refined Storage Mekanism integration add-on.[1][3]
Refined Storage: the foundation
The base crafting components, Advanced Machine Casing and Advanced Storage Housing, are both made from Refined Storage parts. The casing uses Refined Storage's Machine Casing, Construction Core, Destruction Core and its processors. The housing uses its processors and Quartz Enriched Iron. You need to be well into Refined Storage before you can start on Extra Disks.[3]

The part tiers build on Refined Storage's own parts. The 256k Storage Part starts from Refined Storage's 64k Storage Part. The 16384B Fluid Storage Part starts from Refined Storage's 4096B Fluid Storage Part. Later tiers step up from the tier below through Refined Storage's part tags.[3]

Finished item and fluid disks and the storage blocks keep leaning on Refined Storage. The disks use the Advanced Processor and Improved Processor, and the blocks use the Advanced Machine Casing, both together with Quartz Enriched Iron. Each recipe also takes the matching Refined Storage part, selected through Refined Storage's part tags.[3]

Mekanism and chemical storage
Chemical disks and parts are where Mekanism comes in. The chemical parts from the 65536B Chemical Storage Part upward use Atomic Alloy and an osmium ingot. The chemical disks also take an osmium ingot, so you need Mekanism materials to go beyond item and fluid storage.[3]
The 65536B Chemical Storage Part also needs the 8192B Chemical Storage Part from the Refined Storage Mekanism integration add-on. The higher chemical parts then build on the chemical part tier below.[3]

The Withering Processor
The top tiers need the Withering Processor. These include the 1048m Storage Part, the 8388kB Chemical Storage Part and the infinite parts. Its first step, the Raw Withering Processor, is marked as changed by the pack. It uses Refined Storage's Processor Binding together with a nether star, silicon and redstone dust, so you will need a nether star before the endgame disks.[3]

What changed in Extra Disks between versions?
There isn't much history to go through for Extra Disks yet. The All the Mods 10 2.43 changelog lists it as added in that release, at version 1.21.1-4.0.9.[5]
The 2.43 mod list shows the file ExtraDisks-1.21.1-4.0.9.jar. It also says the mod was first included in 2.43 or earlier, so the changelog entry doesn't settle exactly which pack release first shipped it.[2]
Unverified No stored changelogs exist for the shipped Extra Disks jar, so what changed inside the mod between versions, and any pack-specific changes to its recipes or values, can't be confirmed here.
