What is Connected Glass?
2 parts
Connected Glass is a building mod that adds new glass blocks with connecting textures. When you place these blocks next to each other, the borders between them disappear, so a big window or glass wall looks like one clean pane.[1]
It doesn't touch vanilla glass. Your regular glass stays exactly as it is, and the mod adds extra blocks on top. You can still use the vanilla look wherever you want it.[1]
The four glass types
- Connecting Glass uses the regular glass textures, but touching blocks connect.[1]
- Clear Glass is a clear version of the regular glass textures.[1]
- Scratched Glass brings back the old programmer art glass textures.[1]
- Tinted Glass is a connecting, colored take on tinted glass, and it stops light from passing through.[1]
Each of the 4 types comes in all 16 colors, and every block also has a matching pane. That gives you a lot of options for windows, greenhouses and decorative builds.[1]
Who it's for and where it fits
This mod is purely about looks. It's perfect if you care about how your base looks and want nicer windows than vanilla gives you. All the Mods 10 7.2 includes Connected Glass version 1.1.14, and the pack has included it since version 2.25 or earlier.[1][2]
Unverified The sources don't show where Connected Glass fits in the pack's progression, and they don't say whether the pack changes any of its recipes. Check the recipe blocks on the item pages to see the exact in-pack recipes.
How do you get started with Connected Glass?
3 parts
Connected Glass is a building mod. It adds new glass blocks whose textures join up when you place them side by side, so big windows look like one clean sheet instead of a grid of framed squares. It doesn't touch vanilla glass. It adds extra blocks, so you keep the vanilla look whenever you want it.[1]
You'll run into 4 glass types. Each one comes in all 16 colors, and every block also has a pane version.[1]

- Tinted Glass has connecting, colored versions of the tinted glass textures, and it stops light from passing through.[1]
Step 1: Make your first colored Connecting Glass
Start by picking a color for your build and making the full block, like Connecting Blue Stained Glass. In this pack each colored Connecting Glass block has more than one crafting recipe. One starts from plain Connecting Glass, so check each recipe and use whichever matches what's already in your chests.[3]

Step 2: Turn it into panes
Next, make panes for your window frames and thinner details. Each colored pane, like Connecting Blue Stained Glass Pane, has several recipes in this pack. One is made from the full connecting block you just crafted, which is why it pays to make blocks first. Another dyes a plain Connecting Glass Pane.[3]

Step 3: Branch out into other colors
Once one color works, the others follow the same setup. For example, Connecting Black Stained Glass, Connecting Cyan Stained Glass and Connecting Lime Stained Glass each have matching block and pane recipes. Look up the color you want and you're set.[3]
Unverified The recipe for plain, uncolored Connecting Glass and the recipes for Clear, Scratched and Tinted Glass weren't in the recipe excerpt available for this guide, so they aren't shown here. The number of blocks or panes each recipe gives is also unconfirmed. Check the in-game recipe viewer for those. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How does Connected Glass work?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Here's the honest picture for this one: Connected Glass is a decorative mod, and the sources don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation for it. What it adds is glass blocks with connecting textures, so this section covers how those blocks behave and how you get them in this pack.[1]
What the glass does
The mod adds new glass blocks whose textures connect when they touch each other. Your vanilla glass stays exactly as it is. If you want vanilla glass to connect, the mod page points you to Fusion with one of the resource packs listed on Fusion's page.[1]
There are 4 new glass types, and each comes in all 16 colors. Every block also has a matching pane.[1]
- Connecting Glass: the regular glass textures, but touching blocks connect.[1]
- Clear Glass: clear versions of the regular glass textures.[1]
- Scratched Glass: the old programmer-art glass textures.[1]
- Tinted Glass: connecting, colored versions of the tinted glass textures. Unlike the other types, tinted glass prevents light from passing through.[1]
The plain version is Connecting Glass and its pane is Connecting Glass Pane. Colored versions follow the same pattern, for example Connecting Black Stained Glass and Connecting Black Stained Glass Pane.[1][4]
Getting the colored versions
In this pack, the recipes I can see for the colored connecting glass fall into three patterns. The black set is shown below as an example, and the blue, brown, cyan and gray sets follow the same pattern.[4]
First, you can turn the matching vanilla stained glass into its connecting version.[4]
Crafting Shaped

Second, you can combine plain connecting glass with a dye of the matching color. Any dye in the matching dye tag works.[4]

Third, you can turn a colored connecting glass block into the matching colored pane.[4]

Panes also have their own conversions. Vanilla stained glass panes convert to connecting panes, and plain connecting panes can be dyed.[4]

Rendering with Sodium
The mod page says that a Sodium version older than 0.6 needs Indium installed for Connected Glass to render, because Sodium replaces vanilla rendering and ignores the Fabric Rendering API. That note is written for Fabric.[1]
Unverified Whether the Sodium and Indium note applies to this pack's setup is not confirmed by the sources. The recipes for the Clear, Scratched and Tinted glass types, as well as any config options for the mod, are also not confirmed.
How do you progress through Connected Glass?
3 parts
Connected Glass has no tech tiers to climb. Every block in this pack comes from a crafting table recipe, and each one is the mod's own recipe rather than a pack-specific change. The progression is really a set of conversion routes: turn ordinary glass into its connecting version, then branch out into colours and panes.[3]
Step 1: Clear connecting glass and panes
Your base block is Connecting Glass, and every coloured version can branch off it. For panes you have two routes. You can convert a vanilla glass pane directly into Connecting Glass Pane, or you can craft panes from your Connecting Glass blocks.[3]

Step 2: Stained connecting glass
Each colour of stained connecting glass has two recipes. You can convert the matching vanilla stained glass, or you can dye your clear Connecting Glass. The dye slot accepts any item in the matching colour dye tag, so dyes from other mods in the pack should work as long as they're tagged for that colour.[3]

The same two routes exist for the other colours, for example Connecting Black Stained Glass, Connecting Cyan Stained Glass, Connecting Lime Stained Glass, Connecting Magenta Stained Glass and Connecting Purple Stained Glass. Their recipes follow the same naming pattern, ending in 1 for the vanilla conversion and 2 for the dye recipe.[3]
Step 3: Stained connecting panes
Coloured panes give you the most options, with up to three routes each. You can convert the vanilla stained glass pane of that colour, dye a clear Connecting Glass Pane, or craft panes from the matching stained connecting glass block.[3]

Unverified The recipe dump shown here is truncated, so the exact recipe for clear Connecting Glass itself, and any other glass styles the mod may add in this pack, could not be confirmed.
How does Connected Glass work with other mods?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Connected Glass mostly stands on its own in this pack, but the recipes and quests show two links: extra dye colors, whose items use the dyenamicsandfriends namespace, and Hostile Neural Networks. SecurityCraft also appears in a quest next to the glass.[4][5]
Extra dye colors
The pack adds shaped crafting recipes that combine a Connected Glass block with a dye from the extra color tags. Colors include amber, aquamarine, bubblegum, lavender and wine. The results are items in the dyenamicsandfriends namespace.[4]
Two glass types get colored versions this way. Connecting Glass gives the Connecting stained glasses, for example Connecting Amber Stained Glass. Clear Glass gives the Clear stained glasses, for example Clear Amber Stained Glass.[4]
Panes have their own recipes too. Connecting Glass Pane and Clear Glass Pane each have a pane recipe per color. Here are two amber examples, one block and one pane:[4]

Scratched glass shows up once in the recipe data: Scratched Amber Stained Glass Pane is crafted from Scratched Glass Pane with a pack-added recipe.[4]
Hostile Neural Networks
The quest "The Data Center" quest sits in the Hostile Neural Networks chapter, right after Creating Loot. It covers building the Data Center, a 7x7x7 multiblock. Its walls and ceiling must be Black Stained Glass, and the quest accepts these Connected Glass blocks for the job:[5]
- Connecting Tinted Black Stained Glass[5]
- Connecting Black Stained Glass[5]
- Clear Black Stained Glass[5]
- Scratched Black Stained Glass[5]
The same task also lists reinforced black stained glass from SecurityCraft as an option, so you can pick whichever look you like. The quest adds that the controller may replace one bottom-wall block, and that IO Ports can replace Black Stained Glass.[5]
What changed in Connected Glass between versions?
1 part
Connected Glass has been in All the Mods 10 for a long time. It was first included in version 2.2 or earlier, and in 7.2 you're running Connected Glass 1.1.14.[2]
Updates across pack releases
- All the Mods 10 2.43 updated Connected Glass from 1.1.12 to 1.1.13.[6]
- All the Mods 10 4.5 updated Connected Glass from 1.1.13 to 1.1.14.[7]
- All the Mods 10 7.2 still ships Connected Glass 1.1.14, the NeoForge build for Minecraft 1.21.[2]
Unverified The mod's own changelogs for these versions weren't available, so what changed in 1.1.13 or 1.1.14 is unverified. That includes new glass types, bug fixes and recipe changes. Any version changes before 2.43 are also unverified.
