What is Connected Glass?
2 parts
Connected Glass is a decoration mod that adds new glass blocks whose textures connect to their neighbors, so a wall of glass looks like one big pane instead of a grid of separate squares. The pack includes version 1.1.14 of the NeoForge build.[1][2]
It doesn't touch vanilla glass. Everything it adds is extra, so you can keep using the regular blocks wherever you like. If you want vanilla glass to connect, the mod page points you to Fusion plus a compatible resource pack.[1]
The four glass types
- Connecting Glass: the regular glass textures, but touching blocks connect.[1]
- Clear Glass: clear versions of the regular glass textures.[1]
- Scratched Glass: the old programmer-art glass textures.[1]
- Tinted Glass: connecting, colored versions of the tinted glass textures. Tinted glass prevents light from passing through.[1]
Each type comes in all 16 colors, and every block also has a pane version.[1]
Who it's for and where it fits
This one is for builders who want cleaner-looking windows, greenhouses and bases. You don't need it to progress, but it does show up in one quest. In "The Data Center" quest, the Data Center multiblock needs Black Stained Glass for its walls and ceiling. The quest accepts Clear Black Stained Glass, Connecting Black Stained Glass, Connecting Tinted Black Stained Glass and Scratched Black Stained Glass for that task, so you can pick whichever look you like for your build.[1][3]
That quest comes after Creating Loot in the Hostile Neural Networks chapter.[3]
Unverified The sources don't show Connected Glass as part of the ATM Star path.
How do you get started with Connected Glass?
4 parts
Connected Glass adds new glass blocks with connecting textures. It doesn't touch vanilla glass, so your normal glass stays exactly as it is. There are four types: Connecting Glass, Clear Glass, Scratched Glass (the old programmer-art textures) and Tinted Glass. Each comes in all 16 colors and has panes too.[1]
Nothing here is a progression gate on its own. The reason to make glass early in this pack is a quest: "The Data Center" quest in the Hostile Neural Networks chapter.[1][3]
Step 1: Know what the Data Center wants
The Data Center is a 7x7x7 multiblock. Its walls and ceiling must be Black Stained Glass, and its IO Ports can replace some of that glass. The quest accepts several black glass variants from this mod, and also a black glass block from another mod.[3]
- Connecting Black Stained Glass (Connecting Black Stained Glass)[3][4]
- Clear Black Stained Glass (Clear Black Stained Glass)[3][4]
- Scratched Black Stained Glass (Scratched Black Stained Glass)[3][4]
- Connecting Tinted Black Stained Glass (Connecting Tinted Black Stained Glass)[3][4]
Step 2: Craft Connecting Black Stained Glass first
Start with this one: touching blocks of Connecting Glass join up, and the quest accepts the black version. This pack gives you two ways to make it.[1][3][4]

Step 3: Pick a different look if you want one
Clear Glass is the clear version of the regular glass textures. Scratched Glass uses the old textures. Tinted Glass is connecting and colored, and it stops light from passing through. The quest accepts the black version of each of these types. Here are the recipes for the clear and scratched black variants.[1][3]

How does Connected Glass work?
2 parts
Connected Glass adds new types of glass with connecting textures. The sources describe it as a glass-block mod, so this section is short: the useful "mechanics" are which glass types exist and how you craft the colours.[1]
The four glass types
The mod adds 4 new types of glass block, and each one comes in all 16 colours and has matching panes. It does not change vanilla glass, so you keep the vanilla blocks alongside the new ones.[1]
- Connecting Glass: the regular glass textures, but touching blocks connect. The base block is Connecting Glass, and its pane is Connecting Glass Pane.[1][5]
- Clear Glass: clear versions of the regular glass textures.[1][5]
- Scratched Glass: the old programmer art glass textures.[1][5]
- Tinted Glass: connecting and colored versions of the tinted glass textures. Tinted glass prevents light from passing through.[1][5]
In the item list the four families are named Connecting, Clear, Scratched and Connecting Tinted. Colored examples from the connecting family are Connecting Blue Stained Glass and Connecting Blue Stained Glass Pane.[5]
Getting colored glass and panes
In this pack the colored connecting blocks have two main crafting routes, shown below with black as the example. Other colors, such as blue and brown, follow the same pattern in the recipe list. You can turn the matching vanilla stained glass into 4 connecting blocks, or you can dye plain connecting glass for 8 colored blocks. Panes work the same way, giving 4 or 8 panes per craft depending on the route.[4]

If you already have a colored connecting block, you can turn it straight into panes of the same color. That gives 16 panes per craft, which is the most efficient route in the recipe list.[4]

How do you progress through Connected Glass?
2 parts
In this pack, Connected Glass shows up in the quest book in one place: the Data Center build in the Hostile Neural Networks chapter. That quest is where the glass becomes useful, so this section follows it and then shows how the black variants are crafted.[3]
The quest that uses it
The quest "The Data Center" quest comes after the Creating Loot quest. It describes the Data Center as a 7x7x7 multiblock whose walls and ceiling have to be Black Stained Glass. The floor has to be Obsidian, and the quest has a separate Obsidians task listing which forms are accepted.[3]
The quest's glass task accepts several black variants from this mod: Clear Black Stained Glass, Connecting Black Stained Glass, Connecting Tinted Black Stained Glass and Scratched Black Stained Glass. It also accepts the SecurityCraft reinforced black stained glass, so you can pick the look you like for the walls.[3]
Crafting the black variants
Every black variant from this mod that the quest accepts has an in-pack crafting recipe. For the connecting version, you can start from vanilla black stained glass or from plain connecting glass with black dye. Here are both.[4]

How does Connected Glass work with other mods?
2 parts
Connected Glass adds its own glass types, and this pack ties them into two other mods: Dyenamics and Friends for extra glass colors, and Hostile Neural Networks for a multiblock that needs black glass.[3][4]
Dyenamics and Friends colors
The pack adds shaped crafting recipes that let you dye Connected Glass in the extra colors from Dyenamics and Friends. Each recipe takes a plain Connected Glass block and a dye of the matching color. The result is a colored block in the dyenamicsandfriends namespace.[4]
Connecting Glass, Clear Glass and their panes all have these colored versions. The colors are amber, aquamarine, bubblegum, cherenkov, conifer, fluorescent, honey, icy blue, lavender, maroon, mint, navy, peach, persimmon, rose, spring green, ultramarine and wine.[4]
- Connecting Glass plus an amber dye gives Connecting Amber Stained Glass. The pane works the same way, starting from Connecting Glass Pane.[4]
- Clear Glass plus a dye gives the Clear colored version, for example Clear Wine Stained Glass. Panes start from Clear Glass Pane.[4]
- For Scratched Glass, the recipes here only show the amber pane. It turns Scratched Glass Pane into Scratched Amber Stained Glass Pane.[4]

Hostile Neural Networks Data Center
The quest "The Data Center" quest in the Hostile Neural Networks chapter comes after Creating Loot and has you build the Data Center, a 7x7x7 multiblock. Its walls and ceiling must be Black Stained Glass.[3]
The quest's glass task accepts several blocks. These Connected Glass blocks are on the list: Clear Black Stained Glass, Connecting Black Stained Glass, Connecting Tinted Black Stained Glass and Scratched Black Stained Glass. The list also includes Reinforced Black Stained Glass.[3]
The quest also says that Data Center IO Port blocks can take the place of Black Stained Glass in the structure.[3]
Which All the Mons quests use Connected Glass?
3 parts
In the quest sources for this mod, Connected Glass appears in the Hostile Neural Networks chapter. It isn't a quest line of its own, just one of the accepted options for a build requirement.[3]
Hostile Neural Networks: The Data Center
The quest is "The Data Center" quest. It comes after the Creating Loot quest in the same chapter, so finish that one first.[3]
The Data Center is a 7x7x7 multiblock that combines the Simulation Chamber and the Loot Fabricator. It can handle 25 Self Aware Data Models at once, with the same effects as Inference simulations. Instead of Mob Predictions, it produces loot directly, with the same modes as the Loot Fabricator.[3]
What the quest asks for
- The Data Center itself.[3]
- An item task that the source doesn't name, so check it in your quest book.[3]
- A black glass block. The quest accepts Clear Black Stained Glass, Connecting Black Stained Glass, Connecting Tinted Black Stained Glass, Scratched Black Stained Glass, or SecurityCraft's reinforced black stained glass. Any of them completes the task.[3]
- The Data Center IO Port, Data Center IO Port.[3]
Where the glass goes
The walls and ceiling of the multiblock must be Black Stained Glass, which is why the Connected Glass variants count. The floor (first layer) must be Obsidian, and the quest points you to its Obsidians task to see which forms of Obsidian are accepted. The controller can replace one bottom-wall block, and IO Ports can replace Black Stained Glass.[3]
What changed in Connected Glass between versions?
2 parts
All the Mons 1.3.0 ships Connected Glass 1.1.14, and the mod has been in the pack since 0.3.0-beta or earlier. So the 1.1.14 changes below are what you get in this pack.[2]
Connected Glass 1.1.14 (the version in this pack)
- The texture atlas size of Connected Glass textures was significantly reduced.[6]
- Side section textures of pane blocks now only connect up/down when the pane above/below also has that side section.[6]
- Spanish and Ukrainian translations were updated.[6]
Earlier releases
- 1.1.13: Fusion is now used for culling the top and bottom quads of glass panes.[6]
- 1.1.12: Turkish and Ukrainian translations were added, and glass was added to the appropriate c:... glass tags.[6]
- 1.1.11: Initial release of Connected Glass for Minecraft 1.20.5 and 1.20.6.[6]
