What is Connected Glass?
3 parts
Connected Glass is a building and decoration mod. It adds new glass blocks whose textures connect to neighbouring blocks, so big windows and walls look like one seamless pane instead of a grid of separate squares. This pack includes version 1.1.14.[1][2]
It does not touch vanilla glass. The mod adds extra blocks alongside it, so you can keep using the vanilla textures wherever you like.[1]
The four glass types
The mod adds 4 types of glass block. Each comes in all 16 colors, and every block also has a pane version.[1]
- Connecting Glass: the regular glass textures, but touching blocks connect. An example is Connecting Black Stained Glass.[1][3]
- Clear Glass: clear versions of the regular glass textures, such as Clear Black Stained Glass.[1][3]
- Scratched Glass: the old programmer-art glass textures, such as Scratched Black Stained Glass.[1][3]
- Tinted Glass: connecting, colored versions of the tinted glass textures, such as Connecting Tinted Black Stained Glass. Tinted glass prevents light from passing through.[1][3]
Who it's for
If you like building bases with clean, seamless windows, greenhouses or showcase walls, this is your mod. You don't need any special setup, because these are simple decorative blocks.[1]
Where it fits in the pack
Connected Glass also has a practical use in this pack. The Data Center quest in the Hostile Neural Networks chapter is a 7x7x7 multiblock whose walls and ceiling must be Black Stained Glass. The quest's glass task accepts the black versions of all four Connected Glass types, so you can pick the look you prefer. It also accepts a reinforced black stained glass from another mod. IO Ports can replace some of the glass in the structure. See "The Data Center" quest for the full build rules.[3]
Unverified Beyond the Data Center quest, the sources don't show any other quest or progression gate that uses Connected Glass.
How do you get started with Connected Glass?
3 parts
Connected Glass doesn't change vanilla glass. It adds extra glass blocks with connecting textures, so your old glass keeps working and you can mix both. There are 4 new types, each in all 16 colors, and every one has a pane version too.[1]
Pick your glass type
- Connecting Glass: the regular glass textures, but touching blocks connect.[1]
- Clear Glass: clear versions of the regular glass textures.[1]
- Scratched Glass: the old programmer art glass textures.[1]
- Tinted Glass: connecting and colored versions of the tinted glass textures. It prevents light from passing through.[1]
Why start with black glass
In the pack's quest book, the quest "The Data Center" quest in the Hostile Neural Networks chapter comes after Creating Loot, and it is where black glass from this mod gets a job. The Data Center is a 7x7x7 multiblock, and its walls and ceiling must be Black Stained Glass. IO Ports can substitute for some of that glass, and the controller can replace one bottom-wall block.[3]
The quest accepts several black glass blocks, so you can pick the look you like. Besides the four Connected Glass blocks below, it also accepts a SecurityCraft reinforced black stained glass block.[3]
- Connecting Black Stained Glass[3]
- Clear Black Stained Glass[3]
- Scratched Black Stained Glass[3]
- Connecting Tinted Black Stained Glass[3]
Crafting order
Start with the connecting version, since the clear black recipe below can start from it. You have two ways to make it.[4]

How does Connected Glass work?
3 parts
Here's the honest picture for this one: Connected Glass is a decorative mod, and the sources don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation for it. What it adds is glass blocks with connecting textures, so this section covers how those blocks behave and how you get them in this pack.[1]
What the glass does
The mod adds new glass blocks whose textures connect when they touch each other. Your vanilla glass stays exactly as it is. If you want vanilla glass to connect, the mod page points you to Fusion with one of the resource packs listed on Fusion's page.[1]
There are 4 new glass types, and each comes in all 16 colors. Every block also has a matching pane.[1]
- Connecting Glass: the regular glass textures, but touching blocks connect.[1]
- Clear Glass: clear versions of the regular glass textures.[1]
- Scratched Glass: the old programmer-art glass textures.[1]
- Tinted Glass: connecting, colored versions of the tinted glass textures. Unlike the other types, tinted glass prevents light from passing through.[1]
The plain version is Connecting Glass and its pane is Connecting Glass Pane. Colored versions follow the same pattern, for example Connecting Black Stained Glass and Connecting Black Stained Glass Pane.[1][4]
Getting the colored versions
In this pack, the recipes I can see for the colored connecting glass fall into three patterns. The black set is shown below as an example, and the blue, brown, cyan and gray sets follow the same pattern.[4]
First, you can turn the matching vanilla stained glass into its connecting version.[4]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: connectedglass:borderless_glass_black1
Second, you can combine plain connecting glass with a dye of the matching color. Any dye in the matching dye tag works.[4]

Third, you can turn a colored connecting glass block into the matching colored pane.[4]

Panes also have their own conversions. Vanilla stained glass panes convert to connecting panes, and plain connecting panes can be dyed.[4]

Rendering with Sodium
The mod page says that a Sodium version older than 0.6 needs Indium installed for Connected Glass to render, because Sodium replaces vanilla rendering and ignores the Fabric Rendering API. That note is written for Fabric.[1]
Unverified Whether the Sodium and Indium note applies to this pack's setup is not confirmed by the sources. The recipes for the Clear, Scratched and Tinted glass types, as well as any config options for the mod, are also not confirmed.
How do you progress through Connected Glass?
2 parts
Connected Glass has no tiers in this pack. The sources show no upgrade chain and no gated stages. What you get is a set of glass styles, and every recipe I can see is a plain crafting recipe from the pack's recipe dump.[4]
The one quest that touches it
The quest that uses this mod is "The Data Center" quest in the Hostile Neural Networks chapter, which unlocks after the Creating Loot quest. It's about building the Data Center, a 7x7x7 multiblock. Its walls and ceiling must be black stained glass, and that's where Connected Glass comes in.[3]
The quest's glass task accepts any of these: Connecting Tinted Black Stained Glass, Connecting Black Stained Glass, Clear Black Stained Glass, Scratched Black Stained Glass, or Reinforced Black Stained Glass. So you can pick whichever look you like best.[3]
The quest also says the controller can replace one bottom-wall block, and the Data Center IO Port can replace black stained glass. The floor has to be Obsidian, and the quest's Obsidians task lists which forms are accepted.[3]
Getting the black glass variants
Each black variant has its own recipe in the pack. Connecting Black Stained Glass can be crafted straight from vanilla black stained glass, or from Connecting Glass plus black dye.[4]

How does Connected Glass work with other mods?
2 parts
Connected Glass mostly stands on its own in this pack, but the recipes and quests show two links: extra dye colors, whose items use the dyenamicsandfriends namespace, and Hostile Neural Networks. SecurityCraft also appears in a quest next to the glass.[3][4]
Extra dye colors
The pack adds shaped crafting recipes that combine a Connected Glass block with a dye from the extra color tags. Colors include amber, aquamarine, bubblegum, lavender and wine. The results are items in the dyenamicsandfriends namespace.[4]
Two glass types get colored versions this way. Connecting Glass gives the Connecting stained glasses, for example Connecting Amber Stained Glass. Clear Glass gives the Clear stained glasses, for example Clear Amber Stained Glass.[4]
Panes have their own recipes too. Connecting Glass Pane and Clear Glass Pane each have a pane recipe per color. Here are two amber examples, one block and one pane:[4]
Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: dyenamicsandfriends:borderless_glass_amber2
Pack-added recipe for Connecting Amber Stained Glass.
Crafting Shaped
| any amber dye | ||
Recipe id: dyenamicsandfriends:clear_glass_amber_pane2

Scratched glass shows up once in the recipe data: Scratched Amber Stained Glass Pane is crafted from Scratched Glass Pane with a pack-added recipe.[4]
Hostile Neural Networks
The quest "The Data Center" quest sits in the Hostile Neural Networks chapter, right after Creating Loot. It covers building the Data Center, a 7x7x7 multiblock. Its walls and ceiling must be Black Stained Glass, and the quest accepts these Connected Glass blocks for the job:[3]
- Connecting Tinted Black Stained Glass[3]
- Connecting Black Stained Glass[3]
- Clear Black Stained Glass[3]
- Scratched Black Stained Glass[3]
The same task also lists reinforced black stained glass from SecurityCraft as an option, so you can pick whichever look you like. The quest adds that the controller may replace one bottom-wall block, and that IO Ports can replace Black Stained Glass.[3]
Which All the Mods 10 quests use Connected Glass?
3 parts
Connected Glass shows up in a single quest in the pack, in the Hostile Neural Networks chapter. The quest is "The Data Center" quest, and it is all about building the Data Center multiblock.[3]
Where it sits in the order
The Data Center quest comes after the quest called Creating Loot, so finish that first.[3]
What the quest asks for
The task list starts with the Data Center and ends with the Data Center IO Port. In between is an item task whose item the quest data here does not name, plus the glass task. The quest text also points you to a separate Obsidians task to see which forms of Obsidian the floor accepts.[3]
The glass task is where this mod comes in. It accepts any of these, along with a SecurityCraft option:[3]
- Connecting Tinted Black Stained Glass[3]
- Connecting Black Stained Glass[3]
- Clear Black Stained Glass[3]
- Scratched Black Stained Glass[3]
- securitycraft:reinforced_black_stained_glass, from SecurityCraft[3]
How the glass fits into the build
The Data Center is a 7x7x7 multiblock that combines the Simulation Chamber and the Loot Fabricator. It can handle 25 Self Aware Data Models concurrently. Instead of producing Mob Predictions, it produces loot directly, with the same possible modes as the Loot Fabricator.[3]
For the structure, the floor (the first layer) must be Obsidian. The walls and ceiling must be Black Stained Glass, which is where the Connected Glass blocks above count. The controller may substitute one bottom-wall block, and IO Ports can substitute Black Stained Glass.[3]
What changed in Connected Glass between versions?
1 part
All the Mods 10 8.1 ships Connected Glass 1.1.14, and the mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 2.25 or earlier. The pack changelogs record these version bumps for it.[2][5][6]
