What is SecurityCraft?
3 parts
SecurityCraft is all about locking down your base. It adds blocks and items to defend and secure your builds, and this pack includes version 1.10.2.1 of it.[1][2]
Who it's for
If you play on a server, or just want a base that mobs and other players can't casually walk into, this mod is for you. Every block belongs to the player who placed it, and only that owner can interact with it or break it. Many blocks ignore their owner, so their effects only hit other players. Team ownership is optional and can be enabled in the config.[1]
What you get
- Reinforced blocks: unbreakable versions of many vanilla blocks. They have a slightly darker tint (you can turn it off in the config), and vanilla pistons can't move them. Not every vanilla block has a reinforced version, and modded blocks aren't supported.[1]
- Technical blocks: for example the Block Change Detector, Inventory Scanner, Keycard Reader, Rift Stabilizer, Security Camera, Sentry and Trophy System.[1]
- Modules: upgrades that change how a block behaves. The disguise module makes a block look like any other block, and the allowlist module lets chosen players be ignored by the block.[1]
- Passcode-protected blocks: a chest and furnaces that need a numerical code. Most are made by right-clicking the vanilla version with a key panel. The codebreaker can bypass them with a 33% chance of success and has 3 uses.[1]
- Explosives: standard mines and block mines that look like normal blocks such as stone, dirt, sand or ores. You can arm, defuse or detonate bound mines remotely with the mine remote access tool.[1]
Where it fits in the pack
SecurityCraft is a base-defense mod, so you can pick it up whenever you want to protect your setup. The one place the quest book touches it is The Data Center quest, "The Data Center" quest, which belongs to the Hostile Neural Networks chapter. That quest lists Reinforced Black Stained Glass as one of the glass options for the multiblock's walls and ceiling.[3]
Unverified The sources show no dedicated SecurityCraft quest chapter and no place for this mod on the ATM Star path, so treat it as an optional extra.
How do you get started with SecurityCraft?
5 parts
SecurityCraft is all about defending your base. Before you craft anything, know this: every block is owned by the player who placed it. Only the owner can interact with it, and only the owner can break it. Many blocks also ignore their owner, so their effects only hit other players.[1]
First, reinforce your base
Your first job is making your walls tougher. SecurityCraft has reinforced versions of many vanilla blocks. They are unbreakable variants of the originals, they have a slightly darker tint, and vanilla pistons can't move them, but reinforced pistons can push them. You make them by reinforcing normal blocks with a universal block reinforcer. Higher reinforcer levels simply have more durability.[1]
Next, find out who is messing with your base
Make a Block Change Detector. It detects block changes in a certain range around it and logs the position, player, time and block state of each change. It's a handy way to see what happened while you were away.[1]

Then, hide your defenses
Many SecurityCraft blocks can be upgraded with modules. The Disguise Module is a great early one, because it lets SecurityCraft blocks look like any other block in the game. That makes for stealthy base defenses.[1]

Reinforced glass and the Data Center
Reinforced Black Stained Glass has its own crafting recipe in the pack. It matters beyond security: the quest "The Data Center" quest lists it as one of the glass types you can use for the Data Center's walls and ceiling.[3][4]

A note on ore mines
The pack has changed the recipes for the ore mines, including the coal, copper and diamond versions and the deepslate ore variants. So don't rely on what you remember from the base mod. Use the recipe shown here instead.[4]

How does SecurityCraft work?
7 parts
SecurityCraft is a defense mod, so most of its systems are about who owns a block and who is allowed to touch it. This section covers the ownership, reinforcement, module, passcode and mine mechanics that the sources explain.[1]
Ownership
Every block in the mod belongs to one player, the owner, who is whoever placed it. Only the owner can interact with the block or break it. Many blocks also ignore their owner, so their effects only hit other players. You can turn that off per block in the screen that opens when you right-click it with a Universal Block Modifier.[1]
The mod also has optional scoreboard team ownership, enabled in its config. With it on, everyone on a team owns every block placed by any player on that team. If you run Jade or The One Probe, their overlay shows who owns a block.[1]
Reinforced blocks
Reinforced blocks are unbreakable versions of many vanilla blocks. You make them by reinforcing the vanilla block with a Universal Block Reinforcer. Higher reinforcer levels have more durability, and level 2 and up can also remove the reinforcement. Vanilla pistons can't move reinforced blocks, but reinforced pistons can push them. Not every vanilla block has a reinforced version, and modded blocks aren't supported.[1]
Reinforced blocks look slightly darker than their vanilla versions. In this pack that tint is switched on with reinforced_block_tint. The shade comes from reinforced_block_tint_color, which this pack sets to 10,066,329. The valid range is 0 to 16,777,215 in 0xRRGGBB format, and grayscale values look best. A server can force the tint setting on clients, but it can't override the color.[5]
The pack also sets sayThanksMessage to false, so you won't get the tips message when joining a world.[5]
Modules
Many SecurityCraft blocks can be upgraded with modules. Modules can add things like redstone output or let a block act faster. The disguise module makes a block look like any other block. The allowlist module lets the owner list player names, and those players are ignored by the block and by any password protection or targeting it has.[1]
This pack also has the Denylist Module, and its in-pack recipe is below.[4]

Passcode-protected blocks
Passcode-protected blocks open only for players who know the numeric code the owner set. They include a chest and several furnaces that work like their vanilla versions. Most have no crafting recipe. You make them by right-clicking the vanilla block with a key panel.[1]
The Codebreaker can bypass these blocks. Each attempt has a 33% chance of working, and the item has 3 uses. On success, the block opens or activates for you.[1]

Mods like Jade and The One Probe could once show an owner their own passcode. The project page says that as of SecurityCraft v1.9.7 nobody can see it, not even with those mods.[1]
Mines
Block mines copy common blocks such as stone, dirt, deepslate, sand and all the ores. They look identical to the real block but are explosive. If a player who isn't the owner breaks one, it explodes and leaves a fiery crater.[1]
You craft a block mine by combining the Mine with the block it should imitate. Here is the Cobblestone Mine as an example.[4]
The pack changed the recipes for the Coal Ore Mine and the Copper Ore Mine. Each now takes the matching ore through an ore tag, so check the in-pack recipes below instead of assuming the mod defaults.[4]

How do you progress through SecurityCraft?
6 parts
SecurityCraft is not on the ATM Star quest path, and the quest data I have shows only one quest that touches it: "The Data Center" quest in the Hostile Neural Networks chapter, which comes after Creating Loot. So your progression with this mod is mostly about which recipes lead into which, and the pack's recipe list is what we follow here.[3][4]
The only quest link: reinforced black glass
The Data Center quest has you build a multiblock whose walls and ceiling must be black stained glass. One of the glass options accepted by the quest task is Reinforced Black Stained Glass, so SecurityCraft can supply part of a Hostile Neural Networks build.[3]

Keycard tiers
The clearest tier ladder in the pack is the four keycard levels: Level 1 Keycard, Level 2 Keycard, Level 3 Keycard and Level 4 Keycard. The recipe blocks below show the exact in-pack recipe for each one.[4]

Building up the defences
The recipes chain together in a natural order. Start with the Bouncing Betty, which leads on to the Claymore and the Intelligent Munitions System. The Laser Block leads on to the Inventory Scanner, and the Reinforced Block of Iron leads on to the Cage Trap, the IMS and the Block Pocket Manager. The recipe blocks below show the exact recipes.[4]

Ore mines were changed by the pack
Heads up if you've played SecurityCraft elsewhere. The ore mine recipes are marked as changed by the pack: coal, copper, iron, gold, diamond and emerald, plus the deepslate versions of coal, copper, iron, gold, diamond, emerald, lapis and redstone. They all build on the basic Mine, and the Diamond Ore Mine recipe below is one example. Simpler mines like Cobblestone Mine, Dirt Mine and End Stone Mine use unchanged mod recipes.[4]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use SecurityCraft?
2 parts
SecurityCraft only shows up in one quest in this pack, and it's a side appearance rather than a quest about the mod itself. It sits in the Hostile Neural Networks chapter, so you won't find a SecurityCraft chapter of its own.[3]
Hostile Neural Networks: The Data Center
The quest is "The Data Center" quest. It unlocks after you finish the quest called Creating Loot, so that's the one to do first.[3]
It asks you to build the Data Center, a 7x7x7 multiblock that combines the Simulation Chamber and the Loot Fabricator. It can handle 25 Self Aware Data Models at once, and instead of Mob Predictions it produces loot directly, using the same modes as the Loot Fabricator.[3]
The quest has three tasks: the Data Center itself, a black glass block, and the Data Center IO Port. The black glass task accepts several glass types, and Reinforced Black Stained Glass is one of them. That's the SecurityCraft link, so you can use it for the glass part of the build.[3]
Build notes from the quest
- The floor (first layer) must be Obsidian. The quest has an Obsidians task that lists which forms of Obsidian the Data Center accepts.[3]
- The walls and ceiling must be Black Stained Glass.[3]
- The controller can replace one bottom-wall block, and IO Ports can replace Black Stained Glass.[3]
Which SecurityCraft config options matter?
2 parts
SecurityCraft's client config is short, and the options in it are all about how things look and what you see when you join a world. Here is exactly how this pack sets them.[5]
Reinforced block tint
Reinforced blocks normally look a little darker than their vanilla versions, so you can tell them apart at a glance. In this pack, reinforced_block_tint is set to true, so that darker tint is on.[1][5]
If you play on a server, keep in mind that the server can force this setting on your client with its own "force_reinforced_block_tint" option.[5]
The shade is controlled by reinforced_block_tint_color, which this pack sets to 10,066,329. The valid range is 0 to 16,777,215, and the value is a color in 0xRRGGBB format. It only applies while the tint is enabled. Servers cannot override it, and it is applied the same to every block. Grayscale values look best.[5]
Welcome message
sayThanksMessage controls whether you get a welcome message with tips when you join the world. This pack sets it to false, so you won't see that message.[5]
Unverified The sources don't show the mod's default values, so it is unconfirmed which of these settings the pack changed. SecurityCraft also has an optional scoreboard team ownership setting in its config, and this pack's value for it is not confirmed.
What changed in SecurityCraft between versions?
SecurityCraft has been in All the Mods 10 since version 2.25 or earlier, and 8.1 ships version 1.10.2.1 of the mod for 1.21.1. Here are the updates the pack changelogs record along the way.[2]
- All the Mods 10 2.47: SecurityCraft updated from 1.9.12 to 1.10.[6]
- All the Mods 10 4.15: SecurityCraft updated from 1.10 to 1.10.1.[7]
- All the Mods 10 7.2: SecurityCraft updated from 1.10.1 to 1.10.2.1, which is the version still in 8.1.[2][8]
Unverified What actually changed inside each SecurityCraft update (new blocks, fixes, balance tweaks) is unverified. The pack changelogs only list the version numbers, and no changelogs for the shipped jars are available. Check the mod's own release notes for the details.
