What is Glassential Renewed?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 0.46 guide
Glassential Renewed is a building-focused mod that adds special glass types without the overhead of a big content mod. The project page pitches it as the cool glass you see in mods like Extra Utilities, such as glass that blocks light or glass that glows, in one lightweight package.[1]
The pack includes version 3.0.0 of the mod, built for NeoForge 1.21.[2]
What it adds
- Luminous Glass emits light, just like Glowstone.[1]
- Redstone Glass emits a strong redstone signal, just like a Block of Redstone.[1]
- Ghostly Glass is non-solid to all entities of any kind.[1]
- Ethereal Glass is non-solid to players, while Reverse Ethereal Glass is only solid to players (and fluids).[1]
- Tinted Ethereal Glass and Tinted Reverse Ethereal Glass combine the properties of vanilla Tinted Glass with their Ethereal counterparts.[1]
- Glass doors, glass trapdoors and glass slabs, plus doors and trapdoors made of all the Glassential blocks and dyed stained glass doors and trapdoors.[1]
- Frameless panels from all the glasses of the mod.[1]
The mod also replaces the vanilla glasses with connected-texture versions, and it supports connected textures through Fusion. The project page says Fusion has been required since version 2.1.0.[1]
Who it is for
This is a mod for builders. If you want a glowing window, a wall you can walk through, or a glass block that outputs a redstone signal, this is where you get them. It's handy for bases, hidden entrances and redstone-driven builds, and it doesn't ask you to learn a whole tech or magic system.[1]
Where it fits in progression
Unverified The sources I have don't show any quests involving this mod, and it isn't on the ATM Star path. They also don't say where the glasses unlock in progression, so treat it as a building-utility mod you can use whenever you like. Check the in-game recipes to see what each block needs. This site does hold All the Mods 10: To the Sky's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you get started with Glassential Renewed?
5 parts
Glassential Renewed adds building glass without the overhead of a big content mod. Here is the order I'd craft things in, and why.[1]
Start with glass slabs, doors and trapdoors
Begin with the basics: Glass slab, Glass Door and Glass TrapDoor. They are the simple, no-frills versions. The trapdoor recipe uses the slab, so make the slab first.[1][3]

Add Luminous Glass for light
Luminous Glass emits light, just like Glowstone. It is a window and a light source in one block, so it is a handy early upgrade for lighting your base.[1]
Try Ethereal and Ghostly glass
These glasses are great for controlling who can pass. Ethereal Glass is not solid to players, so you can walk straight through it. Ghostly Glass goes further and is not solid to entities of any kind.[1][4]
For the opposite effect, Reverse Ethereal Glass is only solid to players. It is crafted from Ethereal Glass, and the pack also has a recipe that turns it back into Ethereal Glass.[1][3][4]
Use Redstone Glass when you need a signal
Redstone Glass emits a strong redstone signal, just like a Block of Redstone. This recipe is one the pack has changed, so follow the recipe below rather than anything you remember from the mod's defaults.[1][3]

Finish with panes, doors and colors
Once you have a glass type you like, you can turn it into a pane. Panes are frameless when inserted between blocks, which gives you clean, seamless windows. Doors and trapdoors exist for the mod's glasses too, and there are dyed versions made from stained glass.[1][3][4]

Every dye color has its own door and trapdoor recipe made from the matching stained glass.
The project page also says the mod supports connected textures through Fusion and replaces the look of the vanilla glasses with connected ones, so big glass walls look seamless.[1]
How does Glassential Renewed work?
5 parts
Good news and a heads-up. Glassential Renewed is a building mod, so there are no machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation to learn. The mechanics here are about how each glass block behaves when you, mobs and redstone interact with it.[1]
Who can walk through what
The big idea is that some glass is solid only to certain things. That makes it great for secret entrances, mob-proof windows and one-way setups.[1]
- Ghostly Glass is not solid to entities of any kind.[1][4]
- Ethereal Glass is not solid to players.[1][4]
- Reverse Ethereal Glass is the opposite: it is only solid to players, and the project page adds fluids to that too.[1][4]
- Tinted Ethereal Glass combines the properties of vanilla Tinted Glass and Ethereal Glass.[1]
- Tinted Reverse Ethereal Glass combines the properties of vanilla Tinted Glass and Reverse Ethereal Glass.[1]
Light and redstone
Luminous Glass emits light like Glowstone. Redstone Glass emits a strong redstone signal like a Block of Redstone, so you can use it as a decorative power source. In game, the redstone variant is labeled "Emits a redstone signal".[1][4]
Panes, doors and trapdoors
Panes made from the mod's glasses are frameless when you insert them between blocks, so they sit flush in a wall. Ethereal panes such as Ethereal Glass Pane carry the "Not solid to players" behavior.[1][4]
Every Glassential glass also has a matching door and trapdoor, and there are dyed stained-glass versions too. Some of them are tagged as resistant to explosions. The tooltips say the protected doors and trapdoors work like iron doors and iron trapdoors. Check an item's tooltip in game to see which ones have this.[1][4]
Crafting the glass
Ethereal Glass is a shapeless craft made from plain glass and one more ingredient.[3]
Switching between the normal and reverse versions is a single shapeless craft in either direction, so you can fix a wrong choice without losing anything.[3]
The tinted versions have more than one route. You can build them from tinted glass, or upgrade an existing ethereal block.[3]

Doors are shaped recipes that start from the matching glass block. The ghostly door is one example.[3]
Looks and requirements
The project page says vanilla glasses are replaced by connected-texture versions, and that newer versions of the mod require Fusion for connected textures. That means your glass walls join up seamlessly instead of showing a frame around every block.[1]
Unverified The sources don't confirm exactly how doors and trapdoors of the ghostly or ethereal types treat players and mobs. Test them in a creative world before relying on them for base security. This pack also ships no config file for this mod, so there are no options to tune.
How do you progress through Glassential Renewed?
4 parts
Glassential Renewed has no machines and no tech tree. Every recipe in this pack is a crafting grid recipe, so progression is about how fancy you want your glass to get. The groupings below are just a handy way for you to read the recipes, not an official tier system from the mod.[3]
Unverified The sources here do not show any quest for this mod. If the pack's quest book has anything on it, that is where you would find it.
Starter glass
This is where you begin, and it only needs vanilla glass plus a basic block or so. You get Glass slab, Glass TrapDoor and Glass Door. You also get framed glass: Stone Glass and Sandstone Glass.[3]
Every vanilla stained glass colour has its own door and trapdoor, for example Red Glass Door and Red Glass Trapdoor. Tinted Glass Door and Tinted Glass Trapdoor work the same way, built from vanilla tinted glass.[3]
Functional glass
Next come glass types with a gameplay twist: Luminous Glass (Luminous Glass), Obsidian Glass and Redstone Glass. Luminous Glass and Redstone Glass each have a pane, a door and a trapdoor. Obsidian Glass has a door and a trapdoor in the recipes.[3]
Ender glass
The top end is the ender-themed glass. Ghostly Glass is a shapeless recipe made from plain glass and an ender pearl. Ethereal Glass is also shapeless on plain glass, but it uses an ender eye instead.[3]
Ethereal Glass has a mirrored version, Reverse Ethereal Glass. You can convert between the pair with shapeless recipes that take just the glass block itself. The last step is the Tinted Ethereal family. Tinted Ethereal Glass can be made from an ender eye and vanilla tinted glass, by upgrading Ethereal Glass with an amethyst shard, or by converting from the reverse version. Tinted Reverse Ethereal Glass can be made by upgrading Reverse Ethereal Glass with an amethyst shard.[3]

The upgrade route: Ethereal Glass plus an amethyst shard gives Tinted Ethereal Glass.
Doors, trapdoors and panes
Every glass type above follows the same pattern: you craft the finished piece from the matching glass block. It's worth deciding which glass you want before you make a lot of doors.[3]
- Panes: Ethereal Glass Pane, Ghostly Glass Pane, Luminous Glass Pane and Redstone Glass Pane each come from their own glass block.[3]
- Doors and trapdoors: Ghostly Glass Door, Obsidian Glass TrapDoor and Redstone Glass Door are each crafted from their matching glass block.[3]
- Tinted Ethereal pieces: Tinted Ethereal Glass Door and Tinted Reverse Ethereal Glass TrapDoor come from their matching Tinted Ethereal glass.[3]
What changed in Glassential Renewed between versions?
1 part
Glassential Renewed has been in the pack since All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.0 or earlier. In 1.0.2 you get version 3.1.8 of the mod.[5]
Glassential Renewed 3.1.8
- Added an impermeable tag for all glasses, which disables drip particles. The mod's changelog lists this as fix #31.[6]
Unverified No pack changelog entries for Glassential Renewed were available, so any changes to the mod between pack releases other than the 3.1.8 note above are unverified.
