What is Botany Trees?
1 part
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.2 guide
Botany Trees is an addon for Botany Pots. It lets you grow trees in the small pots, either as decoration or as a mini wood farm.[1]
This pack ships Botany Trees 21.1.7, and the mod has been in the pack since version 4.6 or earlier.[2]
Which trees it supports
The mod's project page lists trees from vanilla and several other mods. These are the counts it gives:[1]
- Vanilla: 6 trees[1]
- Quark: 5 trees[1]
- Biomes O' Plenty: 18 trees[1]
- Forbidden Arcanus: 2 trees[1]
- Simple Farming: 9 trees[1]
- Biomes You'll Go: 39 trees[1]
- Better Default Biomes: 2 trees[1]
- Silent Gear: 1 tree[1]
That list comes from the mod's own page, so it shows what the mod can support in general. Which of those trees you can actually plant depends on which of those mods are installed in the pack.[1]
How do you get started with Botany Trees?
2 parts
Botany Trees is an addon for Botany Pots. It lets you grow trees inside small pots, either as decoration or as a mini wood farm. So you need Botany Pots in your world first, because this mod builds on it.[1]
What you can grow
The mod adds trees from vanilla and from several other mods. Vanilla has 6 trees, Quark has 5, Biomes O' Plenty has 18, Forbidden Arcanus has 2, Simple Farming has 9, Biomes You'll Go has 39, Better Default Biomes has 2 and Silent Gear has 1.[1]
A tree only shows up when its source mod is installed alongside Botany Trees. I can't confirm from my sources which of these mods are in this pack, so check what you have in your instance.[1]
Your first steps
The project page says trees from vanilla can be grown in a Botany Pot, so a vanilla tree is a simple place to begin. That's all it confirms about how the mod works: pots that hold trees, used for decoration or as a mini wood farm.[1]
Unverified I can't confirm any in-pack recipes, quests or item ids for Botany Trees, so there's no verified crafting order or recipe to show here. Look up the pot and sapling items in your recipe viewer (JEI or similar) to see exactly what this pack requires. This site does hold All the Mods 10: To the Sky's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How does Botany Trees work?
2 parts
Botany Trees is an addon for Botany Pots. The project page says it lets you grow trees inside the small Botany Pot, either as decoration or as a mini wood farm. That's the whole idea, and it's the only part of the mod's behavior the available sources describe. The tree support it lists is what is currently supported, so that list can change.[1]
Which trees you can grow
The project page lists trees from vanilla and several other mods as currently supported. Here are the mods and how many trees each one contributes in that list:[1]
- Currently supported from Vanilla: 6 trees[1]
- Currently supported from Quark: 5 trees[1]
- Currently supported from Biomes O' Plenty: 18 trees[1]
- Currently supported from Forbidden Arcanus: 2 trees[1]
- Currently supported from Simple Farming: 9 trees[1]
- Currently supported from Biomes You'll Go: 39 trees[1]
- Currently supported from Better Default Biomes: 2 trees[1]
- Currently supported from Silent Gear: 1 tree[1]
What isn't documented
The project page, which only gives the currently supported tree list, doesn't cover growth times, drops, what soil or fluids a pot needs, hopper or pipe automation, or any power use. The pack also has no config files for this mod and no recipes that produce its items, so there are no pack-specific values to report.[1]
Unverified How the pots handle automation (inserting, extracting and harvesting through hoppers or pipes), and how fast and how much each tree produces in this pack, are unconfirmed. Botany Pots itself handles these systems, so check that mod's behavior in your own game before relying on it.
What changed in Botany Trees between versions?
1 part
All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 ships Botany Trees 21.1.7. The mod has been in the pack since 1.1.2 or earlier, so it's been here for a good while. Here are the changes the mod's own changelogs list.[3]
Mod changelogs
- 21.1.1: Ported the mod to Minecraft 1.21.1.[4]
- 21.1.3: Fixed a crash that happened when JEI was installed.[5]
- 21.1.7 (the version in this pack): Added support for Regions Unexplored, Pastel, Herbs and Harvest, Merry Making, Golden Apple Trees, AllTheModium, Sushi Go Crafting and Wooly Trees.[3][6]
The 21.1.7 update is the big one for you as a player. It's the release that added support for the other mods listed above.[6]
Unverified Changelogs for the releases between 21.1.3 and 21.1.7 weren't available, so any other changes in those versions are unconfirmed.
