What is Baubley Heart Canisters?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Baubley Heart Canisters brings back the old Tinkers' Construct heart canisters, reimagined as Curios-slot items. The pack includes version 1.21.1-1.4.1 of the mod, and it has been in the pack since 2.25 or earlier.[1][2]
What it does
You collect heart canisters in four tiers. Red hearts drop from hostile mobs, yellow hearts from boss mobs such as the Wither, green hearts from the Ender Dragon, and blue hearts from Wardens. Each tier can also be crafted from the previous tiers, so check JEI for the exact recipes.[1]
The Heart Amulet holds all of your heart canisters in a single slot. The Soul Heart Amulet works the same way but also takes Soul Heart Canisters. These act like Totems of Undying: they heal you back to max health, then revert to Blue Heart Canisters once used.[1]
Extras worth knowing
- Vitality Blade: a sword that gains 2 attack damage for each Heart Canister. It is made with the Soul Heart Crystal, which is also used for Soul Amulets.[1]
- Relic Apple: a crafting item you can also eat, giving Haste II, Strength II and Resistance II for one minute.[1]
- Wither Bone: a crafting item that drops from Wither Skeletons.[1]
- Wardens now drop Echo Shards, which makes them renewable.[1]
Who it's for
This mod is for anyone who wants more max health, and a bigger damage boost from the Vitality Blade, as a reward for hunting mobs and bosses. It requires Curios to run. The amulet's slot type, the drops and the starting health are all configurable.[1]
Unverified We found no quests in this pack involving the mod, and it isn't on the ATM Star path. Whether the pack changes any of its drops, recipes or config values is unconfirmed.
How do you get started with Baubley Heart Canisters?
6 parts
Baubley Heart Canisters brings back the old Tinkers' Construct heart canisters, but as Curios items you wear instead of items you hold. Curios is required for the mod to work. Here's the order I'd tackle things in.[1]
Step one: get your first red heart
Red hearts drop from hostile mobs, so you'll find them just by playing. Each heart tier can also be crafted using the previous tiers.[1]
In this pack you can smelt a Miniature Red Heart into a Melted Red Heart. A melted heart is also what the recipe for the miniature version asks for.[3]

Step two: craft a Canister
The Canister is an ingredient in the red heart canister recipe, so you need one before you can build your first canister.[3]

Step three: make a Relic Apple
The Relic Apple is a crafting item for the red canister. You can also eat it to gain Haste II, Strength II and Resistance II for one minute.[1][3]

Step four: craft the Red Heart Canister
Once you have the pieces, you can make your first Red Heart Canister. The recipe also uses a Wither Bone, a crafting item that drops from Wither Skeletons, so gather one before you try it.[1][3]

Step five: make a Heart Amulet
The Heart Amulet holds all your heart canisters in a single slot. Right click it to open it. The Curio slot type it uses can be changed in game or in the config file.[1][4]

Where to go next
The higher tiers build on one another. The yellow canister upgrades the red one, the green canister upgrades the yellow one, and the blue canister upgrades the green one.[3]
The mod's description lists where each heart comes from: yellow hearts from boss mobs such as the Wither, green hearts from the Ender Dragon, and blue hearts from Wardens.[1]
How does Baubley Heart Canisters work?
7 parts
Baubley Heart Canisters is an equipment mod. It adds the old Tinkers' Construct heart canisters back as Curios items, so you collect hearts, craft them into canisters and wear them. This section covers how the pieces fit together, as far as the sources explain them.[1]
Where hearts come from
- Miniature Red Heart drops from hostile mobs.[1][3]
- Miniature Yellow Heart drops from boss mobs, with the Wither as the example.[1][3]
- Miniature Green Heart drops from the Ender Dragon.[1][3]
- Miniature Blue Heart drops from Wardens on 1.19 and later.[1][3]
The mod page says all of these drops are configurable. It also says the Warden has been changed to drop Echo Shards, which makes them renewable. You need an echo shard for the Soul Heart Crystal later on.[1][3]
Unverified The mod page says the heart drops are configurable, but the sources here do not show this pack's drop settings, so check the mod's config in game.
Melting and converting hearts
Smelting a miniature heart (red, yellow, green or blue) gives you the matching melted heart. A melted heart combined with an item from the hearts tag crafts back into a miniature heart of the same colour.[3]
The melted hearts can also be converted into each other by crafting. Red and green melted hearts can each become yellow, yellow can become red or green, green can become blue, and blue can become green. This means you aren't stuck waiting on one particular boss drop.[3]
The mod page also says every heart tier can be crafted from the previous tiers, and it recommends checking JEI for the recipes.[1]
Canister progression
Heart Canisters are the core of the mod. You start with a plain Canister, then build up through Red Heart Canister, Yellow Heart Canister, Green Heart Canister and Blue Heart Canister. The recipes below show each step.[3]

Relic Apple
Relic Apple is a crafting item, but you can also eat it to gain Haste II, Strength II and Resistance II for one minute. It's also needed for the Red Heart Canister recipe. The pack has two versions of the Relic Apple recipe, a normal one and a rotated one, and both produce the same item.[1][3]

Starting health
The mod page says starting health can be changed in the config, and any value of 0 or below is reset to the default settings.[1]
Unverified The sources here do not show this pack's starting health value, because no config file for this mod was provided. Check the mod's config in game for the value that applies.
How do you progress through Baubley Heart Canisters?
3 parts
Unverified The sources here do not show any quest guidance for this mod, so there is no quest-guided order to follow. Everything below comes only from the in-pack recipes.
Heart canisters in this pack form an upgrade ladder. The base Canister leads into the first heart canister, and each later tier is crafted from the canister of the tier before it. The order is Red Heart Canister, then Yellow Heart Canister, then Green Heart Canister, then Blue Heart Canister, and finally Soul Heart Canister.[3]
The tier ladder
- Start with the base Canister. It is the entry point and feeds into the Red Heart Canister.[3]
- Red tier: the Red Heart Canister is a shapeless recipe that takes the base canister, a Miniature Red Heart and other items shown in its recipe below.[3]
- Yellow tier: the Yellow Heart Canister upgrades the Red Heart Canister and needs a Miniature Yellow Heart.[3]
- Green tier: the Green Heart Canister upgrades the Yellow Heart Canister and needs a Miniature Green Heart.[3]
- Blue tier: the Blue Heart Canister upgrades the Green Heart Canister and needs a Miniature Blue Heart.[3]
- Soul tier: the Soul Heart Canister is a smithing upgrade of the Blue Heart Canister, not a normal crafting recipe.[3]

Getting the right miniature hearts
Each canister tier needs a miniature heart of its own colour: Miniature Red Heart, Miniature Yellow Heart, Miniature Green Heart or Miniature Blue Heart. Crafting one takes the matching melted heart plus a heart item.[3]
Melted hearts are flexible. Smelting a miniature heart gives you its melted version, for example Melted Red Heart from a Red Heart. Melted hearts can also be converted between neighbouring colours. Red and Yellow convert both ways, Yellow and Green convert both ways, and Green and Blue convert both ways. That means one colour can be turned into any other by chaining conversions along that line.[3]
Beyond the canisters: the Soul gear
The Soul Heart Crystal is the endgame component. It takes one miniature heart of each colour (red, yellow, green and blue), so you need the whole set before you can make it.[3]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: bhc:soul_heart_crystal
The crystal feeds into the rest of the Soul gear. A Heart Amulet combined with the crystal makes a Soul Amulet. That amulet and a crystal are then used to craft the Vitality Blade and the Vigor Bow.[3]

| Empty slot | any colorless glass blocks | Empty slot |

There are also health patches in each colour, such as the Red Health Patch and Blue Health Patch. Each one is crafted from the miniature heart of the same colour.[3]

1 part
Baubley Heart Canisters has been in the pack since All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.0 or earlier. Version 1.0.2 ships with Baubley Heart Canisters 1.21.1-1.2.2.[5]
