What is Cobblemon: Legendary Monuments?
3 parts
Legendary Monuments adds special ways to get Legendary and Mythical Pokémon in Cobblemon. You get new summoning mechanics, new structures and new items, so you can go out and earn your legendaries instead of waiting for them to spawn somewhere, sometimes AFK for hours.[1]
The pack includes version 8.1-Love-for-All of the mod. The mod's page lists a long roster, including Zacian, Zamazenta, Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Cobalion, Virizion, Terrakion, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Mew, Victini and more. Depending on the legendary, you might collect footprints, craft ancient urns, collect Pokémon souls, find your way through a labyrinth or even answer questions.[1][2]
Who it's for
This is for you if you like legendaries to feel like a real adventure. Expect exploring, finding keys and relics, and fighting in dedicated structures.[1]
Where it fits in the pack
The pack's quest book has a Legendaries chapter built around this mod. Each quest points you to a structure and the item you need to bring. Quests in this chapter unlock after an earlier Legendary Monuments quest.[3]
- "Heatran" quest: descend into the Heatran Cave carrying a Magma Stone.[3]
- "Mew" quest: follow an Old Sea Map to the Final Island. The quest says the map can be found in Jungle Temples 50% of the time.[3]
- "Victini" quest: get a Liberty Pass, which the quest says can be found in Desert Pyramids 25% of the time, to reach the chamber under Liberty Island's lighthouse.[3]
- "Reshiram" quest: bring a Light Stone and a Fire Gem to Dragonspiral Tower.[3]
- "Zacian" quest: carry the Hero Sword and a Totem of Undying to the Throne Room of Knightly Heroes.[3]
Good to know
- Legendaries that the mod spawns have a 2% chance to be shiny.[1]
- Each player can summon one legendary per structure. On a server, every player can get one from the same pedestal.[1]
- The mod requires Cobblemon, Chipped, Accessories, Cobblemon: Mega Showdown and Lithostitched.[1]
How do you get started with Cobblemon: Legendary Monuments?
3 parts
Welcome to Legendary Monuments! This mod gives legendary and mythical Pokémon their own summoning methods, structures and items, so you don't have to wait around for a spawn. Here is a sensible way to start.[1]
Step by step
- Craft the Arc Phone. It works with tracking items: the Clear Bell, for example, can be used to track Ecruteak Village with it. The pack changed this recipe from the mod's own, so use the one shown below.[4][5]
- Open the Legendaries quest chapter. Most legendary quests name the structure to find and the item to carry there, and each one comes after a Legendary Monuments entry in the chapter. Pick a target you like and work from there.[3]

Good first targets
Urns are an easy first project because there is no structure to find. The Articuno quest ("Articuno" quest) says there is no monument for it. You charge an Urn of Frost by defeating 50 Ice-type Pokémon, then release its power to summon the bird. In general, an urn charges when you defeat Pokémon of the matching type, and once it is ready you right-click to release it.[3][5]

The Unova dragons need stones. Reshiram ("Reshiram" quest) wants a Light Stone and Zekrom ("Zekrom" quest) wants a Dark Stone. Fragments of both drop from defeating Dragon-type Pokémon, Wardens and Withers, so you will collect them as you play, then craft the shards into the full stone. Each dragon also needs a matching gem: a Fire Gem for Reshiram and an Electric Gem for Zekrom.[3][4]

Items you find instead of craft
Some key items come from exploring. The Old Sea Map for Mew ("Mew" quest) can be found in Jungle Temples 50% of the time. The Liberty Pass for Victini ("Victini" quest) can be found in Desert Pyramids 25% of the time. Keep an eye out for both while you explore.[3]
How does Cobblemon: Legendary Monuments work?
7 parts
Here's the thing to know first: Legendary Monuments isn't a machine mod. The sources I have describe no power, fluids, pipes or multiblock machines. The mod is built around summoning mechanics, structures and special items, so this section covers how those work.[1]
Unverified Whether the mod has any machines, power, fluid or automation systems is not confirmed by the available sources, and no in-jar guidebook or config files were available to check.
The big idea: earn the summon
Instead of waiting for a legendary to spawn, you collect footprints, craft ancient urns, collect Pokémon souls, work through a labyrinth or even answer questions. Each legendary has its own unique summoning method, structure and items.[1]
The mod needs Cobblemon, Chipped, Accessories, Cobblemon: Mega Showdown and Lithostitched to work. Accessories matters because the Regipauldrons are equipped through it.[1]
Rules that apply everywhere
- Every legendary that has a spawn added by the mod has a 2% chance to be shiny.[1]
- Summons are one-time per player per structure. On a server, each player can get 1 legendary from the same pedestal.[1]
- The Medallion of Renewal breaks pedestal seals and lets you use them once more.[5]
- The Love Letter has a higher shiny chance when it is used by someone other than the person who crafted it.[5]
Common summoning patterns
Most summons follow a few patterns. The simplest is a right-click item: the Curry of Justice lures Keldeo, the Full Moon Whistle summons Cresselia and the New Moon Whistle summons Darkrai. The Proof of Conquest items summon Azelf, Mesprit and Uxie.[5]
- Charge-up items: the Urn charges when you defeat Pokémon of the matching type. When it shows as ready, right-click to release its power.[5]
- Combination items: the Ideals Bottle and Truth Bottle are used together to summon Kyurem. The Darkstone is used with an electric gem to resurrect Zekrom, and the Lightstone with a fire gem to resurrect Reshiram.[5]
- Totem items: the Hero Sword and Hero Shield are used with a totem of undying to summon Zacian and Zamazenta.[5]
- Location-bound summons: the Treat Boxes summon Latias and Latios at the Southern Island, and Entei, Raikou and Suicune at the Burned Tower. The Magma Stone summons Heatran at his cave in the Nether, and the Old Sea Map is used to summon Mew in the Final Island.[5]
- Cauldron use: Shadow Ichor can be combined in a cauldron with the Shadowy Cowl and the Old Fighters Towel.[5]
Collecting and growing
- Dream String comes from defeating Pokémon at night and is used to craft the dream catcher.[5]
- Sacred Ash is acquired by defeating Pokémon with Ho-Oh in your party. It restores your whole party's HP and PP, but it can't be used mid-battle.[5]
- Dyna Tree Saplings need 25 of them placed in a 5x5 formation to grow a Giant Dyna Tree.[5]
- Iceroot Carrot Seeds grow on farmland in snowy biomes, while Shaderoot Carrot Seeds grow in Thalic Farmland.[5]
- Meltan needs 64 Meltan Candy to evolve.[5]
Keys, shrines and tracking
Snowpoint Temple uses a key-per-room system. There are separate golem keys for the Regirock, Regice and Registeel rooms, one key for the shared Regieleki and Regidrago room, and the Titan Key for the Regigigas room. The Regi Tablet is used to craft the Titan Key, and the Titan Core unites all the Regi pauldrons.[5]
The Firescourge, Grasswither, Groundblight and Icerend Seals help you locate their matching shrines. The Clear Bell can be used to track Ecruteak Village with the Arc Phone. The pack changed the Arc Phone recipe, so use this one rather than any mod default you may have seen.[4][5]

The Celestica Flute is used to craft the Azure Flute, and the Azure Flute is what lets you enter the Hall of Origin. The Antimatter Globe, Space Globe and Time Globe carry the power of Giratina, Palkia and Dialga respectively. The recipe below shows the exact in-pack crafting.[4][5]
The Disc of the First Song summons Meloetta at its special Jukebox. The Disc of the First Song Fragment is used to restore the disc.[4][5]

Spear Pillar and the Distortion World
The Red Chain is used to summon Palkia and Dialga at the Spear Pillar and to craft Ancient Origin Balls. It can be fixed with origin ingots found in the Distortion World.[5]
The pack changed the recipe for the Distortion Portal, which is made from Raw Origin. The Distortion blocks, such as planks, bricks, doors and signs, all have their own crafting recipes in the pack.[4]

How do you progress through Cobblemon: Legendary Monuments?
5 parts
Legendary Monuments is a big mod, so in this pack its progression lives in the Legendaries quest chapter. Most quests there unlock from a Legendary Monuments parent quest for each region (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, Galar, Hisui). The Swords of Justice and Cosmog unlock from a Footprint Tracking quest instead. There is no single linear path, so I've grouped what the quests ask for into tiers. The tiers are my own grouping, not something the pack labels.[3]
Tier 1: craft it and go
These legends only need a crafted item, with no other legendary captured first.[3]
- "Heatran" quest: descend into the Heatran Cave carrying a Magma Stone.[3]
- "Cresselia" quest and "Darkrai" quest: use the Fulmoon Whistle under the night sky for Cresselia, and the Newmoon Whistle after nightfall for Darkrai. Both whistles have in-pack crafting recipes.[3][4]
- "Entei" quest, "Raikou" quest and "Suicune" quest: craft the matching treat and take it to the Burned Tower at Ecruteak Village.[3][4]
- "Latias" quest and "Latios" quest: the Latias Treat and Latios Treat each have their own recipe. You use them on the Southern Island.[3][4]
- "Enamorus" quest: Enamorus needs 3 essences. Essence of Love comes from breeding any animal at a 1% chance. Essence of Friendship comes from reaching max Friendship with any Pokémon. Essence of Altruism comes from curing a Zombie Villager. Combine them with paper into a Love Letter.[3][4]
- "Cosmog" quest: craft the Cosmic Catalyst to gather the dust that coaxes Cosmog out. One capture opens the whole line, including Cosmoem, Solgaleo and Lunala.[3][4]

Tier 2: hunt the key item
These legends need an item you find, loot or trade for rather than craft.[3]
- "Mew" quest: follow an Old Sea Map to the Final Island. It can be found in Jungle Temples 50% of the time.[3]
- "Victini" quest: a Liberty Pass opens the chamber under Liberty Island's lighthouse. It can be found in Desert Pyramids 25% of the time.[3]
- "Hoopa" quest: solve the Hoopa Pyramid trials to collect Temple Keys. You then carry the final Temple Key plus a Prison Bottle, either found in the Pyramid or bought from the Battle Tower.[3]
- "Celebi" quest: the GS Ball cannot be crafted. You trade for it with Kurt, a PokéMart Trader villager. Name a normal villager with a name tag, because Kurt won't work inside an Easy Villagers Trader block.[3]
- "Marshadow" quest: Marshadow needs the Shadowy Cowl and Old Fighters Towel, both found as loot in the sword and shield or thalic dungeons. You stir them into a cauldron with Shadow Ichor.[3]
- "Zacian" quest and "Zamazenta" quest: bring the Hero Sword or Hero Shield plus a Totem of Undying to the Throne Room of Knightly Heroes.[3]
- "Glastrier" quest and "Spectrier" quest: grow the Iceroot Carrot Seeds in frozen biomes on thalic farmland, or the Shaderoot Carrot Seeds on thalic sand. Both are found in thalic pyramids.[3]
Tier 3: charge it, forge it, collect it
Here the quests ask for a multi-step build-up. For the Kanto birds, you craft an urn and charge it by defeating 50 Pokémon of the matching type: Ice for Urn of Frost, Electric for Urn of Storms and Fire for Urn of Embers. Then you release the power to summon the bird.[3][4]
Crafting Shaped
| Empty slot | ||
Recipe id: legendarymonuments:urn_of_frost_craft
The Storms and Embers urns have their own in-pack recipes too.
- "Reshiram" quest and "Zekrom" quest: you need a Light Stone plus a Fire Gem for Reshiram, or a Dark Stone plus an Electric Gem for Zekrom. Stone fragments drop from defeating Dragon-type Pokémon, Wardens and Withers, and a shard-to-stone recipe is in the pack.[3][4]
- The Regis: Regirock, Regice and Registeel (Hoenn quests) and Regieleki and Regidrago (Galar quests) each want their own golem key. Each key has its own recipe, and the quests place them all in the Snowpoint Temple.[3][4]
- "Eternatus" quest: gather enough Galar Particle to crack the Eternatus Cocoon. The pack has a recipe that turns a Galar Particle Block into particles.[3][4]
- "Mesprit" quest, "Azelf" quest and "Uxie" quest: each lake guardian wants a Proof of Conquest, in its own M, A or U variant, presented at its lake.[3]
- "Yveltal" quest and "Xerneas" quest: bring Soul Jar items to the Yveltal Cocoon, or offer an Aurora Essence Jar at the Tree of Life for Xerneas.[3]
- Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion and Keldeo are lured out with their own special offerings. The Curry of Justice for Keldeo is made in a cooking pot.[3][4]

Tier 4: capstones that need other captures
These quests are locked behind earlier legends, so save them for last.[3]
- "Lugia" quest: unlocks after Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno. You bring a Vortex Stone to the Lugia Temple.[3]
- "Kyurem" quest: unlocks after Reshiram and Zekrom. You bring both the Truth Bottle and the Ideals Bottle, gathered from those dragons, to the Kyurem Cave.[3]
- "Dialga" quest and "Palkia" quest: both unlock after Azelf, Mesprit and Uxie, and both ask for a Red Chain. Dialga is faced at the Spear Pillar.[3]

How does Cobblemon: Legendary Monuments work with other mods?
3 parts
Legendary Monuments doesn't work in isolation in this pack. Many of its summoning items are crafted from Cobblemon items, its Tera blocks convert to and from Mega Showdown shards, and a few legendary quests ask you to bring items from other mods too. Here's where the connections show up.[3][4]
Cobblemon: gems, berries and stones
The Regi golem keys are built on Cobblemon type gems. Each golem ingot is made from a Golem Scrap plus a gem, and the key then uses the same gem again. The pack has these chains for the Rock, Ice, Steel, Electric and Dragon golems, and the matching keys are what the Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Regieleki and Regidrago quests ask for. Here is the Rock chain as an example.[3][4]

The other golem keys follow the same pattern with their own type gem.
The Latias, Latios, Entei, Raikou and Suicune treats are made from Cobblemon berries combined with a Poketreat Box. Latias and Latios each have a quest that asks for their own treat, which you use at the Southern Island.[3][4]

The urns pair a Cobblemon evolution stone with a few vanilla items. The Urn of Embers uses the Fire Stone, the Urn of Frost uses the Ice Stone and the Urn of Storms uses the Thunder Stone. Each also needs a brick, gunpowder and a netherite scrap.[4]

The Cosmic Catalyst is another mixed recipe. It combines Cobblemon items (a gem, a sweet and a ball) with vanilla amethyst and obsidian.[4]

Mega Showdown: Tera shards and Tera blocks
Every Tera block from Legendary Monuments has a matching Tera shard from Mega Showdown, and they convert in both directions. A shaped recipe turns a shard into its block, and a shapeless recipe turns the block back into a shard. This works for every type, from Bug to Water.[4]

Quests that ask for items from other mods
Several legendary quests combine a Legendary Monuments item with something from another mod or from vanilla. Check these before you head out.[3]
- "Reshiram" quest asks for the Light Stone and a Fire Gem.[3]
- "Zekrom" quest asks for the Dark Stone and an Electric Gem.[3]
- "Hoopa" quest asks for a Temple Key and a Prison Bottle. The quest text says the bottle is either found in the Pyramid or purchased from the Battle Tower.[3]
- "Zacian" quest and "Zamazenta" quest each ask for a Totem Of Undying alongside the Hero Sword or the Hero Shield.[3]
Which All the Mons quests use Cobblemon: Legendary Monuments?
3 parts
Every Legendary Monuments quest lives in the Legendaries chapter. Each one is a single legendary, and most pair a structure to find with a key item to bring. The quests are tagged by region, and each one has a prerequisite, usually a Legendary Monuments entry quest. A few chain off each other, so here is the order that matters.[3]
Chains that unlock a bigger legendary
- Kanto birds first: "Articuno" quest, "Zapdos" quest and "Moltres" quest each use an urn (Urn of Frost, Urn of Storms, Urn of Embers) charged by defeating 50 Ice-, Electric- or Fire-type Pokémon. Then "Lugia" quest asks for a Vortex Stone at the Lugia Temple, and it comes after all three birds.[3]
- Galarian birds: "Galarian Articuno" quest, "Galarian Zapdos" quest and "Galarian Moltres" quest each follow the matching Kanto bird. Their urns charge by defeating 75 Psychic-, Fighting- or Dark-type Pokémon.[3]
- Johto beasts: "Entei" quest, "Raikou" quest and "Suicune" quest each need a treat taken to the Burned Tower. After all three, "Ho-Oh" quest asks for a Rainbow Feather and the Bell Tower.[3]
- Sinnoh lake trio: "Mesprit" quest, "Azelf" quest and "Uxie" quest each take a Proof of Conquest (Proof of Conquest (M), Proof of Conquest (A), Proof of Conquest (U)). They unlock "Dialga" quest and "Palkia" quest, which both use a Red Chain at the Spear Pillar.[3]
- Arceus: "Arceus" quest uses the Azure Flute and comes after Giratina, Palkia and Dialga.[3]
- Unova dragons: "Reshiram" quest needs a Light Stone plus a Fire Gem. "Zekrom" quest needs a Dark Stone plus an Electric Gem. After both, "Kyurem" quest asks for the Truth Bottle and Ideals Bottle.[3]
- The five Regis: "Regirock" quest, "Regice" quest, "Registeel" quest, "Regieleki" quest and "Regidrago" quest each use their own golem key. Then "Regigigas" quest wants all five done and a Titan Key at the Snowpoint Temple.[3]
Quests you can start without a prerequisite legendary
- Kanto and Unova: "Mew" quest uses an Old Sea Map, found in Jungle Temples 50% of the time. "Victini" quest uses a Liberty Pass, found in Desert Pyramids 25% of the time. "Meloetta" quest uses the Disc of the First Song.[3]
- Hoenn: "Latias" quest and "Latios" quest use the Latias Treat and Latios Treat on the Southern Island.[3]
- Sinnoh: "Heatran" quest uses a Magma Stone. "Cresselia" quest uses the Fulmoon Whistle, and "Darkrai" quest uses the Newmoon Whistle after nightfall.[3]
- Galar: "Zacian" quest and "Zamazenta" quest use the Hero Sword or Hero Shield, each with a Totem of Undying. "Eternatus" quest uses Galar Particle. "Glastrier" quest and "Spectrier" quest use the Iceroot Carrot Seeds and Shaderoot Carrot Seeds.[3]
- Kalos: "Hoopa" quest needs a Temple Key and a Prison Bottle. "Yveltal" quest uses the Soul Jar, and "Xerneas" quest uses the Aurora Essence Jar.[3]
- Hisui, Alola and Johto: "Enamorus" quest uses a Love Letter. "Marshadow" quest uses the Shadowy Cowl and Old Fighters Towel. "Celebi" quest uses a GS Ball, which can't be crafted and has to be traded for from Kurt.[3]
Footprint Tracking quests
Some quests follow a Footprint Tracking quest instead. The Swords of Justice are "Cobalion" quest (Special Meat Chunks), "Terrakion" quest (Special Spices), "Virizion" quest (Special Leafy Greens) and "Keldeo" quest (Curry of Justice). "Cosmog" quest uses the Cosmic Catalyst and follows a Footprint Tracking quest too.[3]
What changed in Cobblemon: Legendary Monuments between versions?
3 parts
All the Mons 1.3.0 ships Legendary Monuments 8.1-Love-for-All, and the mod has been in the pack since 1.0.0 or earlier. Here are the changes from the mod's own changelogs for the two releases I have notes on.[2]
8.1-Love-for-All
The big addition is Enamorous. It uses three essences: love, friendship and altruism. You get love by breeding any animal, which has a 1% chance of dropping it (the changelog says this is configurable). You get friendship by reaching max friendship with any Pokemon. You get altruism by curing a zombie villager back into a villager, which is a 100% chance.[6]
Combine the essences with paper to craft a love letter, which is the Enamorous summon item. The crafter's name is marked on the letter. If a different player uses it, the shiny chance is 6% instead of 2%.[6]
Singleplayer players are covered too. The entrepreneur sometimes sells a love letter at level 5 for 1 love letter and 14 emeralds. That letter is marked by the entrepreneur, so it also gives the 6% shiny chance.[6]
Other changes in 8.1
- Dozens of config options were added in an interactive menu, like Cobblemon's.[6]
- Distortion World generation was improved again, and some missing Distortion wood recipes were fixed.[6]
- The tracking structures arrow now always points at the structure, instead of the direction you need to look.[6]
- The scan system for the Azure Flute was fixed, and Regi Statues that sometimes didn't work were fixed.[6]
- Dream String now uses the string tag.[6]
- Cosmic Dust can now spawn in Better End and Enderscape blocks, and it was made a bit more common.[6]
- The Southern Island spawn and the Yveltal Cocoon spawn were fixed, Treasures of Ruin Shrines spawn was improved, and end structures that spawned cut by the void were fixed.[6]
- The urn blocks now have "decorative" in their names to avoid confusion.[6]
- A PT-BR translation was added.[6]
8.0.3
- Pokemon Trial Spawners that weren't dropping rewards were fixed.[7]
- Throneroom of Knightly Heroes generation was improved.[7]
Unverified The percentages above come from the mod's changelog. I have no pack changelog entries for this mod, so I can't confirm whether All the Mons changes any of those values.
