What is Accessories?
2 parts
Accessories is a data-driven accessory mod for NeoForge and Fabric. It uses a common API on both platforms where possible, and its API style is based on the work of Curios and Trinkets.[1]
This pack ships the NeoForge build of Accessories 1.1.0 (a beta) for Minecraft 1.21.1.[2]
What it does for you
- Banners: you can equip a banner in your head slot to show off a custom design. The cape slot for banners is marked as work in progress.[1]
- Elytra and totems: the mod includes support, but its own default is to have them disabled until you enable them in the config.[1]
- Pets and mounts: other mods can give accessory items to tamed entities. Hold shift and use the Accessories Open Screen on an entity to open its screen. If the entity is owned, you must be the owner.[1]
- Admin tools: if you are OPed, the command /accessories edit <target> opens the accessories screen of a target, so server owners can manage accessories without direct management commands.[1]
For developers
The API already covers events for piglin neutral items, Enderman masks, looting adjustments, fortune adjustments and snow walking. It also offers a unique slot API for mod-specific accessories and full support for NBT-based accessories.[1]
If you run mods built on Curios or Trinkets, the separate Accessories Compatibility Layer mod lets them work under Accessories for a unified experience.[1]
Unverified Where Accessories sits in the pack's quest book, and whether the ATM Star path uses it, is not shown by the sources here.
How do you get started with Accessories?
3 parts
Accessories is a data-driven accessory mod that adds extra equipment slots to your character. Other mods can add items that go into those slots. It's a good first stop for anything that mentions accessories.[1]
What to know first
This guide doesn't have a first-items-to-craft order for you. The sources I have show no in-pack recipes or quests for this mod, so there's nothing to point you to with a recipe block. Mods that add accessory items will bring their own gear, and Accessories supplies the slots they go in.[1]
By default you can wear a banner in your head slot to show off a custom design. A banner in the cape slot is listed as work in progress.[1]
Set up your accessories screen
Before you start collecting gear, tune the screen so it's comfortable to use. The screen has several toggles you can use, and each one shows a tooltip when you hover over it.[3]
- Layout: choose a paginated layout or a scrollable layout for your accessory slots. A slider adjusts the column amount for the layout.[3]
- Unused slots: hide or show all unused slots. This helps a lot once you have many slot types and only a few are filled.[3]
- Widget position: move the Accessories widget to the left or right, and put the side widget with it or opposite to it.[3]
- Extras: show or hide the small crafting grid, the group filter widget, line rendering and the equipped stack slot type. You can also switch between dark and light themes, and enable or disable the character looking at your cursor.[3]
Managing other entities' accessories
Accessories can also be equipped on tamed entities, so other mods can add accessory items for pets or mounts. Hold shift and use the Accessories Open Screen on the entity to bring up its screen. If the entity is owned, you must be the owner. If you're an operator, you can run the command /accessories edit followed by a target instead.[1]
Unverified Which accessory items this pack adds, how to craft them, and whether any quests guide you to them are not covered by the sources I have, so this guide doesn't recommend a crafting order.
How does Accessories work?
4 parts
Accessories isn't a machine mod, so there's no power, fluid or item-pipe handling here. It's a data-driven accessory system for NeoForge and Fabric. It adds extra equipment slots, a screen to manage them, and hooks other mods can use. That's all the sources explain, so this section stays short.[1]
Equipping and managing accessories
Items you equip show a tooltip header reading "When Equipped in" followed by the slot name, so you can see which slot an item's attributes apply to.[3]
The mod can also open the accessory screen of other entities. Hold shift and use the 'Accessories Open Screen' on an entity to bring it up. If the entity is owned, you have to be the owner. This is meant to let other mods add accessories for pets or mounts. If you're OPed, you can run /accessories edit <target> instead. Server owners can use that to manage another player's accessories without direct management commands.[1]
Built-in equipment support
By default you can equip banners in your head slot to show off a custom banner. The cape slot is listed as work in progress. Elytra and totem support exist, but the mod ships with them disabled and you have to turn them on in its config.[1]
Unverified This pack has no config files for the mod, so whether elytra and totem support is enabled here is unverified. Check in-game before you rely on it.
The accessories screen
The screen has a few layout and display options, each with its own toggle. You can switch between a paginated layout and a scrollable layout for the accessory slots, and a slider adjusts the column amount for the layout.[3]
- Show or hide the small crafting grid.[3]
- Show or hide the group filter widget.[3]
- Show or hide all unused slots. A related option toggles filtering of unused slots.[3]
- Show or hide the equipped stack's slot type.[3]
- Show or hide all line rendering.[3]
- Switch between Dark Mode and Light Mode.[3]
- Enable or disable your character looking at the cursor.[3]
- Move the Accessories widget to the left or right, and choose whether the side widget sits opposite it or with it.[3]
- Show or hide the extra screen configuration options.[3]
Compatibility and extras
If other mods use the Curios or Trinkets APIs, the separate Accessories Compatibility Layer mod makes them work under Accessories for one unified screen. For developers, the mod also has an API for unique slots, NBT-based accessories and events. These include Piglin neutral items, Enderman masks, looting and fortune adjustments, and snow walking. There's also a model translation API for rendering accessories on entity models.[1]
The sources list no recipes, configs or quests for this mod in the pack, so I can't say how you obtain its items or what the pack changes.[1][3]
How do you progress through Accessories?
3 parts
Accessories is the equipment screen the pack's quests send you to. The sources I have don't show it as a tiered mod with upgrade steps of its own. What the quest book does show is two places where accessory slots matter: the Mega Showdown chapter and the Cataclysm chapter, whose text presents its accessory structures as a limited set "for now".[4][5]
Opening the screen
Look at your inventory. Where your skin is shown in the top right, there is an "Open Accessories Screen" button. That is where you put the items you want to equip. The quest book says Mega Showdown needs certain accessories equipped to use its battle features.[4]
Mega Showdown path
The chapter is in the Cobblemon group, chapter 14 of 70 in the book. Every item below follows the opening quest "Mega Showdown!" quest. You start with single-purpose items and finish with one item that replaces them all.[4]
- Tera Orb ("Tera Orb" quest) is your permission to Terastallize. The quest says it is made with just vanilla items. You can right click with it to equip it, or use the Accessories screen.[4]
- Dynamax Band ("Dynamax Band" quest) comes after "Wishing Star" quest, which in turn follows "Wishing Weald" quest. Wear it so you can Dynamax.[4]
- Mega Bracelets ("Mega Bracelets" quest) follow a quest in "Mega Showdown", which comes after "Megaroid" quest. The quest says it doesn't matter if it is a bracelet, ring or tiara, as long as it fits the Mega slot.[4]
- Z-Rings ("Z-Rings" quest) follow a quest in "Mega Showdown", which comes after "Archeological Site" quest. Light and dark stones only change the ring's look, not its effect.[4]
- Omni Ring ("Omni Ring" quest) comes after the Tera Orb, Keystone, Wishing Star and Dark Sparkling Stone quests. Worn in any of those 4 slots, it gives you the function of the Z-Ring, Dynamax Band, Mega Bracelet and Tera Orb in one item.[4]
Cataclysm path
The chapter is in the Exploration group, chapter 68 of 70. The quest "New Accessories" quest asks for Belt of Beginner. It says the smaller Cataclysm structures hold new accessory items that spawn only there. Some are worn on normal accessory parts, while others need you to wear this belt first. For now, as the quest text puts it, that quest covers only the structures tied to the Cursed Pyramid and Frosted Prison.[5]
After the New Accessories quest, the book splits into two structure groups as it stands for now. Each group leads to its own set of items.[5]
- Frosted Prison side, for now: "Abandoned Spire" quest, "Abandoned Village" quest and "Abandoned Temple" quest lead to "Sturdy Boots" quest, "Berserker Soul Amulet" quest and "Ring of Grudged" quest.[5]
- Cursed Pyramid side, for now: "Occupied Village" quest, "Desert Temple" quest and "Desert Site" quest lead to "Vitality Ankh" quest and "Unbreakable Skull" quest.[5]
What the quests say about them, as the text reads right now: the Sturdy Boots let you walk over powdered snow and nothing else. The Berserker Soul Amulet gives 10% more damage but costs you 25% of your armor. The Ring of Grudged adds even more damage to the critical hits you get from hitting a mob while falling. The Unbreakable Skull protects you from stuns, once per cooldown.[5]
This is a snapshot of the quest text as it reads right now. The Cataclysm chapter has 109 quests and 29 of them aren't covered here, so check the quest book itself for the rest.[5]
Unverified No tier levels or upgrade recipes for Accessories itself could be confirmed from the sources, so none are described here.
Which All the Mons quests use Accessories?
2 parts
The Accessories mod doesn't have a chapter of its own in the quest book. It shows up in two chapters, and in both of them it's about wearing special gear. In the Cataclysm chapter, the quest text describes its accessory structures as limited "for now". Here's what each chapter asks for, in the order the book gives it.[4][5]
Mega Showdown (Cobblemon group)
This is chapter 14 of 70 in the book, with 28 quests. It starts with "Mega Showdown!" quest, which tells you that you need certain accessories equipped to use Mega forms, Terastallization, Dynamaxing and Z-Moves. To equip them, open your inventory and click "Open Accessories Screen" where your skin is shown in the top right.[4]
Each of the four battle features has its own accessory quest. Here they are in the order you can unlock them:[4]
- "Tera Orb" quest unlocks right after the chapter intro and asks for the Tera Orb. You can Right Click with it to equip it, or use the Accessories screen. "Terastallizing" quest comes later and needs this quest plus "Tera Shards" quest.[4]
- "Dynamax Band" quest asks for the Dynamax Band. It comes after "Wishing Star" quest, which itself comes after "Wishing Weald" quest. "Dynamaxing" quest then follows the Band and "Power Spot" quest.[4]
- "Mega Bracelets" quest covers the Mega slot. As long as the item fits in that slot, you wear it, whether it's a bracelet, ring or tiara. It follows a quest in "Mega Showdown", which follows "Megaroid" quest. "Mega Evolution" quest comes after it and "Specific Mega Stones" quest.[4]
- "Z-Rings" quest covers the rings you need for Z-Moves. It follows a quest in "Mega Showdown", which follows "Archeological Site" quest. The type of ring only changes the look. "Z-Moves in action" quest comes after the rings and "Z-Moves" quest.[4]
The last accessory quest is "Omni Ring" quest, which asks for the Omni Ring. It only unlocks once you've done the Tera Orb, Keystone, Wishing Star and Dark Sparkling Stone quests. The point of it is that you don't need to fill 4 slots for Z-Moves, Dynamaxing, Mega Evolutions and Terastallizing. Wear the Omni Ring in any of those 4 slots and it gives you the function of the Z-Ring, Dynamax Band, Mega Bracelet and Tera Orb in one item.[4]
Cataclysm (Exploration group)
This is chapter 68 of 70, with 109 quests. The accessory part starts with "New Accessories" quest, which asks for the Belt of Beginner. It has no quest before it. The quest explains that smaller structures from newer updates hold new accessory items that only spawn in those structures, and says that for now they are only ones related to the Cursed Pyramid and Frosted Prison. Some of the items are worn on normal accessory parts, while others need you to wear this belt first.[5]
Right now the book has six structure quests coming right after it: "Occupied Village" quest, "Abandoned Spire" quest, "Abandoned Temple" quest, "Desert Site" quest, "Desert Temple" quest and "Abandoned Village" quest. After those, the book asks for these item quests:[5]
- For now, "Sturdy Boots" quest, "Berserker Soul Amulet" quest and "Ring of Grudged" quest unlock once you've done the Abandoned Spire, Abandoned Village and Abandoned Temple quests.[5]
- For now, "Vitality Ankh" quest and "Unbreakable Skull" quest unlock once you've done the Occupied Village, Desert Temple and Desert Site quests.[5]
What the quest book says about them right now: the Sturdy Boots let you walk over Powdered Snow. The Berserker Soul Amulet gives 10% more damage but costs you 25% of your armor. The Unbreakable Skull protects you from stuns, once per cooldown. The Ring of Grudged adds even more damage to the critical hit you get when you strike a mob while falling.[5]
What changed in Accessories between versions?
1 part
All the Mons 1.3.0 ships Accessories in its 1.1.0 beta line for Minecraft 1.21.1. The mod has been in the pack since All the Mons 0.3.0-beta or earlier. The sources here include no pack changelog entries for this mod, so the notes below come only from the mod's own changelogs.[2]
Mod changelog highlights
- The newest build, the one your pack runs: removed the use of the Stream API in hot code errors to improve performance.[2][6]
- The beta build before that: added Spanish (Mexican) translations and fixed an issue where the ordering of slots differed between the server and client, which caused odd slot interactions.[7]

Items and blocks
We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as accessories, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
