PackagedExExCrafting is a mod in Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2, where it is version 1.0.0.6. More Extended Crafting Autocrafting with PackagedAuto (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is PackagedExExCrafting?

2 parts

PackagedExExCrafting is an addon for PackagedAuto, PackagedExCrafting and Extended Crafting: Expanded. It lets you automate anything made in the Epic Crafting Table, so you can stop crafting those items by hand. It adds one block, the Epic Package Crafter.[1]

The mod can run without Applied Energistics 2, but it is recommended to install it alongside. This pack includes version 1.0.0.6.[1][2]

How it works

  1. Place the Epic Package Crafter right next to an Unpackager.[1]
  2. Set the Unpackager to handle Epic Crafting recipes. You encode those recipes into recipe holders with the Encoder.[1]
  3. Connect the crafter to an ME Network if you have one. It will then eject its outputs straight into the network.[1]

Where it sits in the quest book

The pack's quest book mentions the Epic Package Crafter in two places, both in the Production group. The main one is the "Packaged" chapter, chapter 26 of 44 in the book, with 29 quests. There, "Epic Crafting" quest asks you to obtain the crafter, and it comes after "ME Packaging Provider" quest.[3]

That same ME Packaging Provider quest also leads to the other crafter quests in the chapter, such as Elite Crafting, Ender Crafting and Fusion Crafting. Among the quests shown for that chapter, none comes after Epic Crafting.[3]

The crafter shows up again in the "Extended Crafting" chapter, chapter 37 of 44, also in the Production group, which has 248 quests. There, a quest in "Extended Crafting" asks for the same block and comes after the quest for the Epic Crafting Table. Most of that chapter's other quests are not shown in the sources I have, so check the quest book for the rest of its text.[4]

How do you get started with PackagedExExCrafting?

3 parts

This mod adds one block, the Epic Package Crafter. It lets you automate recipes made with the Epic Crafting Table. It is an add-on to PackagedAuto, PackagedExCrafting and Extended Crafting: Expanded, so most of your first steps are PackagedAuto steps.[1][5]

The order to go in

The pack's quest book has a Packaged chapter in the Production group, and it lays out the route for you. Here it is in order.[3]

  1. Start with "PackagedAuto – Introduction" quest, the first quest of the chapter. It asks you to get the guide book (Guide Book), and the Settings Cloner, Package Recipe Holder and Package Recipe Encoder quests come after it.[3]
  2. Make the Package Recipe Encoder ("Package Recipe Encoder" quest). You use it to encode recipes into recipe holders (Package Recipe Holder), and you will need that for Epic Crafting recipes.[1][3]
  3. Do "Crafting" quest, then "Unpackager" quest for the Unpackager. The Epic Package Crafter goes right next to an Unpackager, so this is the block you build around.[1][3]
  4. Next is "ME Packaging Provider" quest. It asks for the ME Packaging Provider and sits after the Packager and Unpackager quests in the book.[3]
  5. Finish with "Epic Crafting" quest. It asks for the Epic Package Crafter and sits after the ME Packaging Provider quest in the book.[3][5]

Crafting the Epic Package Crafter

The pack changed this recipe, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's default. This is the one that works here:[6]

The Extended Crafting chapter has its own a quest in "Extended Crafting" quest, which asks for the Epic Package Crafter. The book lists it after a quest for the Epic Crafting Table, and that chapter opens with "Welcome to Extended Crafting" quest. Not every quest in that chapter is shown here, so check the quest book for the rest.[4][5]

Hooking it up

Put the crafter next to an Unpackager, and have the Unpackager handle Epic Crafting recipes. Encode those recipes into recipe holders with the Encoder. When the crafter is connected to an ME Network, it ejects its outputs into the network on its own.[1]

Tip: The mod is designed to run without Applied Energistics 2, but installing it alongside AE2 is recommended. The pack's quest route goes through the ME Packaging Provider before the Epic Crafting quest, so you will be on an ME network anyway.[1][3]

How does PackagedExExCrafting work?

3 parts

PackagedExExCrafting is a small addon with one job: it lets you automate Epic Crafting Table recipes through PackagedAuto. It adds a single machine, the Epic Package Crafter, and everything in this section revolves around it.[1][5]

How the Epic Package Crafter is set up

  1. Place the Epic Package Crafter right next to an Unpackager.[1]
  2. Set the Unpackager up to handle Epic Crafting recipes.[1]
  3. Encode those Epic Crafting recipes into recipe holders using the Encoder.[1]

The adjacent placement matters. The crafter works together with the Unpackager beside it, so don't try to run it on its own.[1]

Getting items out

When the crafter is connected to an ME Network, it automatically ejects its outputs into that network. That makes it a good fit if you already run Applied Energistics 2 autocrafting.[1]

You don't strictly need AE2, though. The mod is designed to run without it, but installing it alongside is the recommended way to play.[1]

Crafting the machine in this pack

The pack changed the recipe for the Epic Package Crafter, so don't rely on what you may remember from the mod's defaults. The recipe below is the exact one used in this pack.[6]

Unverified The sources do not explain power use, fluid handling, crafting speed, or how items are inserted into or extracted from the Epic Package Crafter outside of an ME Network, so none of that is covered here.

How do you progress through PackagedExExCrafting?

3 parts

The sources for this pack show one item from this mod: the Epic Package Crafter. It is the Epic tier of the package crafters, which let your ME network handle crafting-table style recipes through packages. The pack's quests place it as the step after the Ultimate tier.[3][4][6]

Where it sits in the quest book

The Packaged chapter (group Production, chapter 26 of 44) has "Epic Crafting" quest, which asks for the Epic Package Crafter. It comes after "ME Packaging Provider" quest. The other package crafter quests in that chapter, such as Elite, Ultimate and Advanced, hang off the same quest.[3]

The Extended Crafting chapter (group Production, chapter 37 of 44) has a quest in "Extended Crafting". It comes after a quest in "Extended Crafting", and that table comes after a quest in "Extended Crafting". So you unlock the table first and the package version after it.[4]

The tier ladder

In the Extended Crafting chapter, each package crafter quest follows the matching crafting table quest. Here is the order:[4]

Crafting the Epic Package Crafter

The pack changed this recipe, so don't rely on the mod's defaults. The block below shows the exact in-pack version, and it is a shaped recipe that uses the Epic Crafting Table. That is why you reach it right after the table's quest.[4][6]

How does PackagedExExCrafting work with other mods?

3 parts

Epic Package Crafter is the bridge between PackagedAuto and Extended Crafting. It is an addon that lets PackagedAuto autocraft recipes made in the Epic Crafting Table. It is designed to run without Applied Energistics 2, though installing that mod is recommended.[1]

How it works with PackagedAuto and ME

You place the Epic Package Crafter next to an Unpackager and have that Unpackager handle Epic Crafting recipes. You encode those recipes into recipe holders with the Encoder. When the crafter is connected to an ME Network, it ejects its outputs straight into the network.[1]

The in-pack crafting recipe

The crafter's recipe uses parts from both mods: Extended Crafting items, plus an item from PackagedAuto. The pack changed this recipe, so follow the one below and not the mod's default.[6]

This is the pack's version of the recipe.

Where the quest book covers it

The Packaged chapter (Production group, chapter 26 of 44) has the "Epic Crafting" quest quest, which asks for the Epic Package Crafter. It comes after "ME Packaging Provider" quest. Several other crafter quests also come after that ME Packaging Provider quest, including "Elite Crafting" quest, "Ender Crafting" quest, "Fusion Crafting" quest and "Ultimate Crafting" quest.[3]

The Extended Crafting chapter (Production group, chapter 37 of 44) also has a a quest in "Extended Crafting" quest for the same item, placed after the Epic Crafting Table quest. That chapter has 248 quests and the text of most of them is not shown here, so check the quest book for what the rest of them say.[4]

Which Project Infinity 0.1 quests use PackagedExExCrafting?

2 parts

The quest book asks you for the Epic Package Crafter in two chapters, both in the Production group: Packaged and Extended Crafting.[3][4]

The Packaged chapter

The quest book lists Packaged as chapter 26 of 44, with 29 quests. It asks you to start with "PackagedAuto – Introduction" quest, then "Package Recipe Encoder" quest and "Crafting" quest. After that come "Packager" quest and "Unpackager" quest, and both of those lead into "ME Packaging Provider" quest.[3]

"Epic Crafting" quest is the quest that asks you for the Epic Package Crafter. The quest book unlocks it right after "ME Packaging Provider" quest. It is not a step in a single line: the other package crafter quests (Elite, Ender, Ultimate, Advanced and so on) also unlock after that same quest.[3]

The Extended Crafting chapter

The quest book lists Extended Crafting as chapter 37 of 44, a big one with 248 quests. The Epic Package Crafter appears here too, as a quest in "Extended Crafting", and that quest asks for the same item.[4]

Here the quest book places it at the end of the table and catalyst progression. a quest in "Extended Crafting" unlocks after a quest in "Extended Crafting", which in turn unlocks after a quest in "Extended Crafting". The Ultimate Crafting Table quest itself unlocks after a quest in "Extended Crafting" and a quest in "Extended Crafting".[4]

The Epic Crafting Table quest also leads on to a quest in "Extended Crafting", so in the quest book the Epic Package Crafter quest is a side step on that path rather than a prerequisite for it.[4]

Tip: The two quests are linked by what the quest book asks you to build. Packaged has you set up the ME Packaging Provider first, and Extended Crafting has you unlock the Epic Crafting Table first.[3][4]
