PackagedExCrafting is a mod in Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2, where it is version 3.4.0.21. Extended Crafting Autocrafting with PackagedAuto (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is PackagedExCrafting?

2 parts

This is an addon for PackagedAuto and Extended Crafting. It lets you autocraft the items that come out of Extended Crafting's crafting tables, which are normally a pain to automate. The pack ships version 3.4.0.21.[1][2]

It adds a whole family of crafters: Advanced Package Crafter, Elite Package Crafter, Ultimate Package Crafter, Ender Package Crafter, Flux Package Crafter and Combination Package Crafter.[1][3]

How you use it

  1. Place a crafter right next to an Unpackager.[1][3]
  2. Encode the recipe into a recipe holder with the Package Recipe Encoder, and have the Unpackager handle that recipe.[1][3]
  3. If the crafter is connected to an ME Network, it ejects its outputs straight into the network.[1]

The Ender and Flux crafters each need their respective Alternators. The Combination crafter needs enough Marked Pedestal blocks around it. The mod is designed to run without Applied Energistics 2, though installing it is recommended.[1]

Where the quest book puts it

The quest book's "Packaged" chapter (Production group, chapter 26 of 44) asks you to set up the PackagedAuto basics first. It starts with the PackagedAuto introduction, then asks for the "Package Recipe Encoder" quest item and Crafting, then the Packager and "Unpackager" quest, and on to "ME Packaging Provider" quest. That matches the workflow above, where recipes are encoded and then handled by an Unpackager.[1][3]

The book asks for every crafter from this mod after the ME Packaging Provider quest: "Elite Crafting" quest, "Ender Crafting" quest, "Combination Crafting" quest, "Ultimate Crafting" quest, "Advanced Crafting" quest and "Flux Crafting" quest. The Combination Crafting quest asks for the Combination crafter and the Marked Pedestal together, which fits the mod, since that crafter needs enough Marked Pedestals. In that chapter, no other quest comes after them.[1][3]

The "Extended Crafting" chapter, also in the Production group (chapter 37 of 44), asks for package crafters too. a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting" and a quest in "Extended Crafting" each come after the quest for the matching Extended Crafting table, which fits the mod automating those tables' recipes. That chapter has 248 quests, and the rest of its text is in the quest book itself.[1][4]

How do you get started with PackagedExCrafting?

2 parts

PackagedExCrafting is an addon to PackagedAuto and Extended Crafting. It lets you autocraft items that normally need Extended Crafting's crafting tables. It can run without Applied Energistics 2, but installing it alongside is recommended, and this pack's quest book builds towards an ME network.[1][3]

The order the quest book follows

The PackagedAuto groundwork comes first. It lives in the "Packaged" chapter of the Production group, and the quests for this mod's crafters come further down that same chain.[3]

  1. Start with "PackagedAuto – Introduction" quest, the first quest in the chapter. The Recipe Holder, Encoder and Settings Cloner quests come right after it.[3]
  2. Make the Package Recipe Holder and the Package Recipe Encoder ("Package Recipe Holder" quest and "Package Recipe Encoder" quest). The Encoder is how you encode crafting recipes into recipe holders, so you need it before any crafter can do something useful.[1][3]
  3. Do "Crafting" quest, then "Packager" quest and "Unpackager" quest. The Unpackager matters most here, because every crafter from this mod works when placed next to one.[1][3]
  4. Finish with "ME Packaging Provider" quest, which asks for the ME Packaging Provider. In the quest book, the package crafter quests all come after it: "Advanced Crafting" quest, "Elite Crafting" quest, "Ender Crafting" quest, "Combination Crafting" quest, "Ultimate Crafting" quest and "Flux Crafting" quest.[3]
Tip: To use a crafter, put it next to an Unpackager and let the Unpackager handle the recipes you encoded into holders. When the crafter is connected to an ME network, it ejects its outputs into the network automatically.[1]

Making the crafters

The Extended Crafting chapter of the quest book also has quests for the Advanced Package Crafter, Elite Package Crafter and Ultimate Package Crafter. Part of that chapter's quest text is not covered here, so read the rest in the quest book.[4][5][6]

The pack changed the recipes for the Advanced, Elite and Ultimate Package Crafters. The recipes below are the ones that apply in this pack.[5]

The Ender Package Crafter and Flux Package Crafter use the mod's own recipes. They also need their respective Alternators to work.[1][5]

The Combination Package Crafter also uses the mod's own recipe, and it needs enough Marked Pedestal blocks around it. The quest book bundles the Combination Crafter and the Marked Pedestal into one quest.[1][3][5]

Watch out: The Combination Package Crafter shows two numbers on its screen: the minimum required Marked Pedestals and the currently usable ones. If it will not start, check that second number first.[1][6]

How does PackagedExCrafting work?

4 parts

PackagedExCrafting is an addon for PackagedAuto and Extended Crafting. It lets you automatically craft items made in Extended Crafting's crafting tables. The mod is designed to run without Applied Energistics 2, but installing it alongside AE2 is recommended.[1]

How the setup works

The basic layout is simple. You put a crafter next to an Unpackager, and that Unpackager handles the matching crafting recipes. You encode those recipes into recipe holders with the Encoder.[1]

  1. Place the crafter you need next to an Unpackager.[1]
  2. Encode the recipe into a recipe holder with the Encoder.[1]
  3. Have the Unpackager handle that recipe so the crafter can make it.[1]
  4. If the crafter is connected to an ME Network, it automatically ejects its outputs into the network.[1]

The crafters

The mod adds a whole line of crafters. The language file lists the Basic Package Crafter, Advanced Package Crafter, Elite Package Crafter, Ultimate Package Crafter, Ender Package Crafter, Flux Package Crafter and Combination Package Crafter.[1][6]

To use any of them, you put the crafter next to an Unpackager. The Ender, Flux and Combination crafters also have extra requirements, covered below.[1]

Extra requirements

The Combination Package Crafter shows text that helps you check this: "Minimum Required Marked Pedestals" and "Currently Usable Marked Pedestals". Compare the required and usable numbers to see whether your pedestal setup is enough.[6]

You make a Marked Pedestal with this recipe:[5]

Crafting the crafters

In this pack, the recipes for the Advanced, Elite and Ultimate Package Crafters have been changed from the mod's own versions. The Combination, Ender and Flux crafters use the mod's recipes. They are shown below.[5]

How do you progress through PackagedExCrafting?

3 parts

PackagedExCrafting adds package crafters that line up with the Extended Crafting tiers. In this pack the path is mostly told by two quest chapters: Packaged and Extended Crafting.[3][4][5]

Getting to the first crafter

The Packaged chapter sits in the Production group. Every package crafter quest in it waits behind the same short chain, and the quest book asks you for these items in this order:[3]

  1. Start by holding the guide book, Guide Book.[3]
  2. Then the Package Recipe Encoder.[3]
  3. Then the Package Crafter.[3]
  4. Then the Packager and the Unpackager.[3]
  5. Finally the ME Packaging Provider, which is the quest the package crafter quests come after.[3]

After that, the Advanced, Elite, Ultimate, Ender, Flux and Combination crafter quests in the Packaged chapter all list the ME Packaging Provider quest as their prerequisite. That chapter doesn't force an order between them, so the real gating comes from the Extended Crafting side.[3]

The table tiers: Advanced, Elite, Ultimate

In the Extended Crafting chapter, each of these package crafters has a quest that comes right after the matching crafting table quest.[4]

So the natural order is Advanced, then Elite, then Ultimate. Here are their in-pack recipes.[4]

Watch out: The Advanced, Elite and Ultimate package crafter recipes are changed by the pack. Don't rely on the mod's defaults for these; follow the recipes shown here.[5]

Ender, Flux and Combination

The Ender Package Crafter and Flux Package Crafter both have quests in the Packaged chapter. Their recipes are the mod's own, not changed by the pack.[3][5]

On the Extended Crafting side, the quests for the Ender Crafter and the Flux Crafter come first, and the Auto Ender & Flux Crafters quest follows once you have both. The in-pack recipes for the package versions use the Auto Ender Crafter and Auto Flux Crafter.[4][5]

The Combination Crafting quest asks for two items: the Combination Package Crafter and the Marked Pedestal. Both recipes are the mod's own.[3][5]

The Packaged chapter also has Epic and Legendary package crafter quests. This page doesn't cover them.[3][4]

How does PackagedExCrafting work with other mods?

3 parts

PackagedExCrafting is the bridge between two other mods: it is an addon to PackagedAuto and Extended Crafting, and it lets you automate the Extended Crafting tables with packages. In this pack that link shows up directly in the recipes, where every crafter is built from Extended Crafting parts plus a PackagedAuto part.[1][5]

How the crafters are built

All six package crafters use the ME Packaging Component from PackagedAuto together with Extended Crafting items such as the Crystaltine Component and the Redstone Catalyst. Most of them also need the matching Extended Crafting machine. The Advanced, Elite and Ultimate package crafters use the Advanced Crafting Table, Elite Crafting Table and Ultimate Crafting Table, while the Ender and Flux crafters use the Auto Ender Crafter and Auto Flux Crafter.[5]

The pack has changed the recipes for the Advanced, Elite and Ultimate package crafters. The Ender, Flux and Combination crafters, and the Marked Pedestal, use the mod's own recipes.[5]

This is the mod's own recipe, not changed by the pack.

The Marked Pedestal is the one piece that doesn't need PackagedAuto parts. It is made from an Extended Crafting Pedestal and an Elite Component. The Combination crafter needs a sufficient number of these pedestals to work.[1][5]

Using them with PackagedAuto

The crafters plug into the PackagedAuto workflow. Place a crafter next to an Unpackager and have the Unpackager handle the matching recipes, which you encode into recipe holders with the Encoder. The Ender and Flux crafters also need their respective Alternators. When a crafter is connected to an ME Network, it ejects its outputs into the network automatically.[1]

In the quest book

The "Packaged" chapter (group Production, chapter 26 of 44) has a quest for each of these crafters. "Advanced Crafting" quest, "Elite Crafting" quest, "Ender Crafting" quest, "Ultimate Crafting" quest and "Flux Crafting" quest ask for the Advanced, Elite, Ender, Ultimate and Flux crafters. "Combination Crafting" quest asks for the Combination crafter and the Marked Pedestal. All of them come after "ME Packaging Provider" quest, so set up your ME Packaging Provider first.[3]

The "Extended Crafting" chapter (group Production, chapter 37 of 44) links back to this mod too. a quest in "Extended Crafting" comes after the Advanced Crafting Table quest, a quest in "Extended Crafting" after the Elite Crafting Table quest, and a quest in "Extended Crafting" after the Ultimate Crafting Table quest. That chapter has 248 quests and only some are covered here, so check the quest book for the rest.[4]

The same "Packaged" chapter also holds quests for other PackagedAuto addons, with names like Fusion Crafting, Sculk Crafting and Extreme Crafting. These ask for items from other packaged addons, not from this mod.[3]

Which Project Infinity 0.1 quests use PackagedExCrafting?

2 parts

Two chapters of the pack's quest book ask you for this mod's crafters: "Packaged" and "Extended Crafting". Both are in the Production group.[3][4]

The Packaged chapter

This chapter starts with the packaging basics. The first quest, "PackagedAuto – Introduction" quest, asks for the Patchouli guide book. "Package Recipe Encoder" quest comes after it, then "Crafting" quest. After that come "Packager" quest and "Unpackager" quest, and both lead into "ME Packaging Provider" quest.[3]

The crafter quests for this mod all unlock after "ME Packaging Provider" quest, so none of them depends on another in this chapter. Each one asks you to hand in the crafter:[3]

The Extended Crafting chapter

This is a much bigger chapter. The Package Crafter quests sit at the end of its crafting table line, and each one comes right after the matching Extended Crafting table quest. Here is the order:[4]

  1. a quest in "Extended Crafting" leads to a quest in "Extended Crafting", which leads to a quest in "Extended Crafting". That last quest asks for the Advanced Package Crafter.[4]
  2. a quest in "Extended Crafting" comes after both a quest in "Extended Crafting" and a quest in "Extended Crafting". It leads to a quest in "Extended Crafting", which asks for the Elite Package Crafter.[4]
  3. a quest in "Extended Crafting" comes after both a quest in "Extended Crafting" and a quest in "Extended Crafting". It leads to a quest in "Extended Crafting", which asks for the Ultimate Package Crafter.[4]

In short, the Packaged chapter puts the crafter quests together after the packaging basics. The Extended Crafting chapter places each Package Crafter quest after the table quest it matches.[3][4]

What changed in PackagedExCrafting between versions?

1 part

Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2 ships PackagedExCrafting 3.4.0.21. The mod has been in the pack since 0.0.45.4 or earlier, so that is the earliest release I can confirm it in.[2]

Mod changelog

  • 3.4.0.21 (the version in this pack): fixes the default value of the fluxCrafterDrawMEEnergy option.[2][7]
  • 3.4.0.20: fixes the progress bar of the flux crafter.[8]

Both notable changes are bug fixes that touch the flux crafter. The changelog entries don't give any more detail than that.[7][8]

The pack's own changelogs have no entries for this mod, so I can't point to any pack-specific changes to it.[2]
