Botany Pots Tiers is a mod in Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2, where it is version 6.0.1. Adds better Botany Pots from Botany Pots (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is Botany Pots Tiers?

2 parts

Botany Pots Tiers adds better versions of the pots from Botany Pots. If you've been using the basic pot and wishing it ran faster, this is the upgrade path.[1]

The tiers

  • Elite: 2x faster and 2x output.[1]
  • Ultra: 6x faster and 6x output.[1]
  • Creative: 10x faster and 10x output.[1]

Those multipliers come from the mod's project page. Nothing I have shows the pack changing them, so treat them as the mod's own description of each tier.[1]

In this pack

The pack's mod list includes Botany Pots Tiers 6.0.1 for Forge 1.20.1. The jar file is named with 6.0.2, so the version label and the file name don't quite match in the list. It has been in the pack since version 0.0.45.4 or earlier.[2]

How do you get started with Botany Pots Tiers?

4 parts

Botany Pots Tiers adds upgraded versions of the base Botany Pot. In this pack the order is simple: start with a normal Botany Pot, then climb Elite, Ultra and Creative. Each step builds on the one before it.[1][3]

Step 1: Elite Botany Pot

Your first target is the Elite Botany Pot. It upgrades a regular Botany Pot, and the pack changed this recipe, so use the one below rather than anything you remember from the mod's defaults. In this pack the Elite tier is set to a speed of 2 and a multiplier of 2.[3][4]

The mod's own description matches: Elite is 2x faster with 2x output. The values come from [[config:config/botanypotstiers-common.toml#Botany Pots Tiers Options.eliteBotanyPotSpeed]] and [[config:config/botanypotstiers-common.toml#Botany Pots Tiers Options.eliteBotanyPotMultiplier]].[1][4]

Step 2: Ultra Botany Pot

Next, upgrade your Elite pot to the Ultra Botany Pot. This recipe is also changed by the pack. Ultra is set to 6 for both speed and multiplier, a big jump over Elite.[3][4]

Those numbers are set by [[config:config/botanypotstiers-common.toml#Botany Pots Tiers Options.ultraBotanyPotSpeed]] and [[config:config/botanypotstiers-common.toml#Botany Pots Tiers Options.ultraBotanyPotMultiplier]].[4]

Hopper versions

Each tier also has a hopper variant. If you already own an Elite pot, combine it with a hopper to get the Elite Hopper Botany Pot.[3]

The same idea works for the Ultra Hopper Botany Pot, starting from an Ultra pot.[3]

Tip: You don't have to make the plain pot first if you want a hopper pot. The pack also has recipes that go straight from a base Botany Pot to the Elite hopper version, and from the Elite hopper version to the Ultra hopper version.[3]

Step 3: Creative Botany Pot

The top tier is the Creative Botany Pot, and this recipe was added by the pack. It is not made in the normal crafting grid: it uses an Extended Crafting shaped table and needs an Ultra Botany Pot as one of its ingredients. Creative is set to 10 for both speed and multiplier.[3][4]

How does Botany Pots Tiers work?

4 parts

Botany Pots Tiers doesn't add a new machine. It adds stronger versions of the Botany Pots you already know, in three tiers: Elite, Ultra and Creative. Each tier grows crops faster and gives more output, and each comes in a plain and a hopper version. The sources don't describe the pot screens or how the hopper variants move items, so this section covers what they do confirm.[1][5]

Tiers: speed and output

The mod describes Elite as 2x faster with 2x output, Ultra as 6x faster with 6x output, and Creative as 10x faster with 10x output. In this pack those numbers are set in the common config for the mod, with a separate speed and multiplier option for each tier.[1][4]

  • Elite Botany Pot: speed [[config:config/botanypotstiers-common.toml#Botany Pots Tiers Options.eliteBotanyPotSpeed]] is 2, multiplier [[config:config/botanypotstiers-common.toml#Botany Pots Tiers Options.eliteBotanyPotMultiplier]] is 2.[4]
  • Ultra Botany Pot: speed [[config:config/botanypotstiers-common.toml#Botany Pots Tiers Options.ultraBotanyPotSpeed]] is 6, multiplier [[config:config/botanypotstiers-common.toml#Botany Pots Tiers Options.ultraBotanyPotMultiplier]] is 6.[4]
  • Creative Botany Pot: speed [[config:config/botanypotstiers-common.toml#Botany Pots Tiers Options.creativeBotanyPotSpeed]] is 10, multiplier [[config:config/botanypotstiers-common.toml#Botany Pots Tiers Options.creativeBotanyPotMultiplier]] is 10.[4]

All six options accept values greater than 1, so the numbers can be changed in that file. The values above are what this pack ships with.[4]

Upgrade path and hopper versions

The pack runs a chain: a base Botany Pot becomes Elite, Elite becomes Ultra, and Ultra becomes Creative. The pack changed the Elite and Ultra crafting recipes, and it added the Creative one itself. Here are the plain pots.[3]

The Creative Botany Pot is made on an Extended Crafting table, using a pattern that includes an Ultra pot and an Infinity 1 item. It's an endgame craft.[3][6]

For the hopper versions, you can combine a pot of the matching tier with a hopper in the crafting grid. That works for Elite and Ultra, and the pack also added the same shapeless recipe for Creative.[3]

Colored variants

The mod's language file lists a lot of colored variants: terracotta, concrete and glazed terracotta pots in every dye color, with hopper versions of each. This pack runs a script that removes the recipes for all of the colored versions. That covers the base Botany Pots mod and every tier here, so you can't craft them. The script also clears the item tag that groups all botany pots.[5][9]

Tip: In this pack, stick to the plain terracotta pots. They're the ones with working upgrade recipes.[3][9]

Putting soil and seeds in by right-click

The pack adds a script so you can load a pot straight from your hand. It applies to the base terracotta pots and their hopper versions, plus all the Elite, Ultra and Creative plain and hopper pots. Right-click the pot while holding something, and don't crouch, or the script does nothing.[10]

  • Soil: if the item is on the script's allowed list, one of it goes into the pot as the soil. The list includes Dirt, Farmland, Sand, Mycelium, several Mystical Agriculture farmlands and a number of modded blocks.[10]
  • Seeds: items tagged as seeds, plants, crops, flowers, saplings or mushrooms go in as the seed.[10]
  • Each successful insert takes one item from your hand. The script also cancels the normal right-click, and it skips an insert when the pot already seems to hold that kind of item.[10]
Watch out: Only items on that soil list work this way. The script also lists a few buckets, such as the water bucket and fish buckets, so don't be surprised if they get used up as soil.[10]

How do you progress through Botany Pots Tiers?

4 parts

Botany Pots Tiers gives you three upgrades on top of the ordinary Botany Pot: Elite Botany Pot, Ultra Botany Pot and Creative Botany Pot. In this pack each tier is built from the one before it, so you climb the ladder one step at a time.[3]

Elite: the first upgrade

You make the Elite pot by upgrading a regular Botany Pot. The pack has changed the mod's recipe for this step, so don't rely on what you remember from other modpacks.[3]

Creative: the endgame pot

The Creative pot is a recipe the pack adds itself, made in an Extended Crafting table. It uses the Ultra pot as its base, so you need to finish the whole Elite and Ultra chain first. Check the recipe below carefully, because it asks for several items from other mods.[3][6]

Hopper versions

Every tier also has a hopper version, and there is more than one way to get each one.[3]

  • Elite Hopper Botany Pot: combine an Elite pot with a hopper, which is the mod's own recipe. The pack also changed two compact recipes that go straight from a plain Botany Pot or a plain Hopper Botany Pot to the Elite hopper pot.[3]
  • Ultra Hopper Botany Pot: combine an Ultra pot with a hopper, which is the mod's own recipe. Two pack-changed compact recipes upgrade an Elite pot or an Elite hopper pot directly.[3]
  • Creative Hopper Botany Pot: the pack gives you three routes. Two are Extended Crafting table recipes, one starting from an Ultra pot and one from an Ultra hopper pot. The third is shapeless, combining a Creative pot with a hopper.[3][7][8]

This pack-added shapeless recipe is the simplest route to the Creative hopper pot if you already have the Creative pot.

Watch out: The pack runs a script that removes the crafting recipes for the dye-colored terracotta, concrete and glazed terracotta pot variants, at every tier. It also empties the botanypots:all_botany_pots item tag. The plain terracotta pots shown above are the ones in this progression.[3][9]

How does Botany Pots Tiers work with other mods?

3 parts

In this pack, Botany Pots Tiers links up with the base Botany Pots mod and, at the Creative tier, with several other mods. You can see it in the recipes: the Elite pots are upgrades of the regular pots, and the Creative pots are an endgame craft that pulls items from across the pack.[3][6][7][8]

Elite pots build on the base Botany Pots

The Elite Botany Pot is an upgrade of the Botany Pot. The pack changed this recipe, so what you craft here is the pack's version, not the mod default.[3]

Creative pots are a multi-mod endgame craft

The Creative pots are where the integrations really show. The pack adds these recipes with its own KubeJS scripts, and they use Extended Crafting's shaped table recipe type. Each one starts from an Ultra pot, so you need to get through the Ultra tier first.[3][6][7][8]

Around that Ultra pot, the recipes pull in items from other mods: Greenhouse Glass, Rich Soil, the Diamond Watering Can and the Netherite Watering Can. They also use Infinity 1.[3][6][7][8]

Dyed pot variants are removed

Watch out: The pack removes the crafting recipes for the dyed terracotta, concrete and glazed terracotta variants of the regular pots and of the Elite, Ultra and Creative tiers. It also clears the botanypots:all_botany_pots item tag. Stick to the plain terracotta pots shown above.[9]

Which Botany Pots Tiers config options matter?

1 part

Botany Pots Tiers keeps everything in one file, config/botanypotstiers-common.toml, under the Botany Pots Tiers Options group. There are only six options: a speed and a multiplier for each of the Elite, Ultra and Creative pots. Each one must be set above 1.[4]

What this pack sets

  • Elite pot: [[config:config/botanypotstiers-common.toml#Botany Pots Tiers Options.eliteBotanyPotSpeed]] is 2 and [[config:config/botanypotstiers-common.toml#Botany Pots Tiers Options.eliteBotanyPotMultiplier]] is 2.[4]
  • Ultra pot: [[config:config/botanypotstiers-common.toml#Botany Pots Tiers Options.ultraBotanyPotSpeed]] is 6 and [[config:config/botanypotstiers-common.toml#Botany Pots Tiers Options.ultraBotanyPotMultiplier]] is 6.[4]
  • Creative pot: [[config:config/botanypotstiers-common.toml#Botany Pots Tiers Options.creativeBotanyPotSpeed]] is 10 and [[config:config/botanypotstiers-common.toml#Botany Pots Tiers Options.creativeBotanyPotMultiplier]] is 10.[4]

These values line up with how the mod describes its tiers: Elite is 2x faster with 2x output, Ultra is 6x faster with 6x output, and Creative is 10x faster with 10x output. Nothing in the sources shows the pack changing these numbers, so you get the tier strengths the mod advertises.[1][4]

Tip: Speed and multiplier are separate options for every tier, so if you ever want to tweak a pot, you can change how fast it grows without touching how much it outputs, or the other way round. Remember each value has to stay above 1.[4]

What changed in Botany Pots Tiers between versions?

1 part

Botany Pots Tiers is in Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2 as version 6.0.1 according to the pack's mod list. It was already in the pack by 0.0.45.4 or earlier, so it has been there since the early releases.[2]

Version 6.0.1

The mod's own changelog for 6.0.1 is short, with two changes:[11]

  • Added JEI/REI compatibility, so the mod's content can show up in those recipe viewers.[11]
  • Added a Turkish (tr_tr) translation, contributed by RuyaSavascisi.[11]
Watch out: The pack's mod list says version 6.0.1, but the jar file it names is BotanyPotsTiers-Forge-1.20.1-6.0.2.jar. The file name points to 6.0.2, so the mod list and the file name don't fully agree.[2]

Unverified What changed in 6.0.2, and whether any pack release changed anything specific to Botany Pots Tiers, is unverified. No changelog for 6.0.2 and no pack changelog entries for this mod were available.
