What is RFTools Power?
1 part
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.36 guide
RFTools Power is an addon for the RFTools mods that handles power. It gives you several ways to generate energy and a couple of ways to store a lot of it, so it's a good pick if you're already running RFTools machines and want power that fits the same family.[1]
This pack ships RFTools Power version 1.21-7.0.1.[2]
What you get
- A simple generator that burns coal or charcoal, which is your easy entry point into power.[1]
- The blazing generator, which makes power from blaze rods.[1]
- The endergenic generator, which makes power from ender pearls.[1]
- A dimensional powercell that stores power and moves it across great distances, even between dimensions.[1]
- A power storage multiblock for when you need to bank a lot of power.[1]
The generators follow a clear path: coal in the early game, blaze rods once you've been to the Nether, and ender pearls after that. On the storage side, the dimensional powercell is the one to reach for if your base is spread out or you want power in another dimension.[1]
Unverified No quest or progression data from this pack is available for this mod, so its exact place in the pack's progression is unconfirmed.
How do you get started with RFTools Power?
5 parts
RFTools Power is all about making RF and storing it. It needs RFTools Base to work, so you will be crafting with parts from that mod too. Here is the order I would tackle things in: a simple generator, somewhere to store the power, a way to see it, and then the blaze rod upgrade.[1]
Start with the Coal Generator
The Coal Generator is the entry-level power source. It makes RF/FE from coal or charcoal. In this pack it generates 60 RF per tick (general.coalgenerator.generatePerTick), and each coal lasts 600 ticks (general.coalgenerator.ticksPerCoal). Both match the mod defaults.[3][4]
Build a Powercell
Next, give that power somewhere to go. The Powercell (Low) stores power and joins up with neighbouring cells into one big multiblock. Right click a side with a wrench to toggle it between input and output. You craft a Power Core first, then the cell.[3]

A single Low cell holds 500,000 RF and handles 250 RF per tick per side. A network can have up to 729 blocks, so you can keep adding cells as your base grows.[4]
Keep an eye on your power
The Power Level shows a digit for how much power is in something, and it sends a redstone signal of the same strength. That makes it a handy way to watch your storage fill up. For automation, the Power Monitor sends a redstone signal depending on the power in its target block.[3]

Step up to blaze rod power
The Blazing Generator makes power from blaze rods, but the rods have to be agitated first in the Blazing Agitator. So make the agitator before the generator. The generator can store up to 1,000,000 RF.[3][4]

Once that is running, the Blazing Infuser is an optional upgrade. It infuses a blazing rod with dimensional shards, redstone or glowstone dust to improve the power production, its duration, or both when used in the Blazing Generator.[3]
Upgrade your storage later
When the Low cells fill up too fast, move up a tier. The Powercell (Medium) recipe uses your existing Low cell, so it is an upgrade rather than a fresh build. A Medium cell holds 4,000,000 RF and a High cell holds 20,000,000 RF, at 1,000 and 4,000 RF per tick per side.[4][5]
How does RFTools Power work?
6 parts
RFTools Power is an addon for the RFTools mods, so it needs RFTools Base installed. It lets you make power from coal, blaze rods and ender pearls, and store it in a multiblock of powercells or in a dimensional cell system that can work across great distances and other dimensions.[1]
Coal Generator
The Coal Generator is the simple starter option. It produces RF/FE from coal or charcoal. The values below match the mod defaults.[3][4]
- It makes 60 RF per tick (general.coalgenerator.generatePerTick).[4]
- Each coal lasts 600 ticks (general.coalgenerator.ticksPerCoal).[4]
- It stores up to 500,000 RF (general.coalgenerator.generatorMaxRF).[4]
- It can send 2,000 RF per tick out (general.coalgenerator.generatorRFPerTick).[4]
- It can charge items at up to 1,000 RF per tick (general.coalgenerator.generatorChargePerTick).[4]
Blazing Generator chain
Blaze rods can't go straight into the Blazing Generator. They have to be 'agitated' first, and you can optionally infuse them to make them better. That gives you a small production line of three machines.[3]
- The Blazing Agitator agitates blaze rods so the generator can use them. The result is a Blazing Rod.[3]
- The optional Blazing Infuser infuses a blazing rod with dimensional shards, redstone or glowstone dust. This improves the power production and/or how long the rod produces power in the generator.[3]
- The Blazing Generator burns the agitated rods to generate power.[3]
The power numbers for the three machines are listed below. In this pack they all match the mod defaults.[4]
- Agitator: stores up to 50,000 RF (general.blazing.blazingAgitatorMaxPower), accepts 100 RF per tick per side (general.blazing.blazingAgitatorRFPerTick) and uses 10 RF per tick while operating (general.blazing.blazingAgitatorUsePerTick).[4]
- Infuser: stores up to 50,000 RF (general.blazing.blazingInfuserMaxPower), accepts 100 RF per tick per side (general.blazing.blazingInfuserRFPerTick) and uses 10 RF per tick while operating (general.blazing.blazingInfuserUsePerTick).[4]
- Generator: stores up to 1,000,000 RF (general.blazing.blazingGeneratorMaxPower) and gives at most 20,000 RF per tick to adjacent machines per side (general.blazing.blazingGeneratorSendPerTick).[4]

Endergenic
The Endergenic generates power from ender pearls. It is the fiddly one: you need at least two generators for it to work, the setup is relatively complicated and timing is crucial.[3]
Two helper blocks make automating it possible. The Pearl Injector injects an ender pearl into an adjacent endergenic when it receives a redstone signal. The Ender Monitor detects various changes in an adjacent endergenic and sends out a redstone signal based on them.[3]

All of these endergenic values match the mod defaults.[4]
- Holding a pearl costs 500 RF every tick (general.endergenic.endergenicRfHolding).[4]
- Each endergenic keeps 2,000 RF for itself so that it can hold pearls (general.endergenic.endergenicKeepRf).[4]
- A pearl can be lost while being held. The chance is 5 (general.endergenic.endergenicChanceLost), measured in tenths of a percent, where 1000 means 100%.[4]
- The power generation multiplier is 2 (general.endergenic.powergenFactor).[4]
- Each endergenic stores up to 5,000,000 RF (general.endergenic.endergenicMaxPower).[4]
- It can give 20,000 RF per tick from its internal buffer to adjacent blocks (general.endergenic.endergenicSendPerTick).[4]
- The particle effect for energy generated is 10 (general.endergenic.endergenicGoodParticles) and for a lost pearl it is 10 (general.endergenic.endergenicBadParticles). Setting either to 0 turns it off.[4]

Powercells
The Powercell blocks store power and join with neighbouring cells into one big multiblock. Right click a cell with a wrench to toggle input or output mode for a side. A single network can have at most 729 blocks (general.powercell.networkMax).[3][4]
- Powercell (Low) (tier 1): holds 500,000 RF (general.powercell.tier1MaxRF) and moves up to 250 RF per tick per side (general.powercell.tier1MaxRFPerTick).[3][4]
- Powercell (Medium) (tier 2): holds 4,000,000 RF (general.powercell.tier2MaxRF) and moves up to 1,000 RF per tick per side (general.powercell.tier2MaxRFPerTick).[3][4]
- Powercell (High) (tier 3): holds 20,000,000 RF (general.powercell.tier3MaxRF) and moves up to 4,000 RF per tick per side (general.powercell.tier3MaxRFPerTick).[3][4]
Bigger networks are faster. Every cell gets extra RF per tick for each cell in the network, scaled by general.powercell.rfPerTickScale, which is 0.25 here. At 0 the rate would stay constant, and at 1 it would grow linearly with the number of cells. The pack keeps all the powercell values at the mod defaults.[4]
The Power Core (Low), Power Core (Medium) and Power Core (High) are the Power Core items, which the mod describes as crafting ingredients for powercells. Their recipes are shown below.[3]

Dimensional Cells
Dimensional Cells store power too, optionally as part of a big multi dimensional structure. They come in three grades: Dimensional Cell (Simple), Dimensional Cell and Dimensional Cell (Advanced). All the dimensional cell values in this pack are the mod defaults.[3][4]
- A normal cell holds 1,000,000 RF (general.dimensionalcell.rfPerNormalCell).[4]
- A normal cell has a base of 5,000 RF per tick that can be extracted or inserted (general.dimensionalcell.rfPerTick).[4]
- The simple cell is 4 times worse in both RF and RF/t (general.dimensionalcell.simpleFactor).[4]
- The advanced cell is 4 times better in both RF and RF/t (general.dimensionalcell.advancedFactor).[4]
- Items can be charged from the cell at up to 30,000 RF per tick (general.dimensionalcell.powercellChargePerTick).[4]
Use the Powercell Card to connect dimensional cells to each other.[3]
Pulling power out from far away costs extra. The cost factor tops out at 1.1 (general.dimensionalcell.powerCellCostFactor) for blocks in other dimensions or farther than 10,000 blocks. The distance cap is 10,000 (general.dimensionalcell.powerCellDistanceCap), and that value is also used for cells in different dimensions. If cells are not connected, 100 is taken as the minimum distance to base the cost on (general.dimensionalcell.powerCellMinDistance). If RFTools dimensions are involved the distance is multiplied by 0.5 (general.dimensionalcell.powerCellRFToolsDimensionAdvantage), and if both sides are RFTools dimensions that multiplier applies twice.[4]
The infusing bonus for dimensional cells is a reduced long distance power extraction cost and increased RF/tick output.[3]

How do you progress through RFTools Power?
4 parts
RFTools Power splits into a few small ladders: storage, generation and monitoring. This section follows the recipes in the pack, so you can see which item leads to which. Most recipes here use a Machine Frame or Machine Base from RFTools Base.[5]
Powercell ladder
The Powercell comes in three levels, and each level is built from the one before it. First you craft a Power Core of the matching level, then you craft the cell itself.[5]

How does RFTools Power work with other mods?
3 parts
RFTools Power is an addon, so it leans on RFTools Base and does not work without it. In this pack's recipes, that link to RFTools Base is the strongest one, followed by a handful of vanilla items.[1][5]
Parts from RFTools Base
- The Machine Frame is the base for the generators and storage: Blazing Generator, Endergenic, Pearl Injector, Powercell (Low) and the Dimensional Cell line all use it.[5]
- The Machine Base is used by the monitoring blocks: Power Monitor, Ender Monitor and Power Level.[5]
- Dimensional Shard goes into Power Core (Medium) and Power Core (High), and into the Blazing Infuser.[5]
- Infused Diamond is needed for the Blazing Generator and Dimensional Cell (Advanced), while Infused Enderpearl is needed for the Endergenic.[5]
Vanilla items
Most of the recipes lean on vanilla redstone items, such as Redstone and Redstone Block. The Power Monitor also uses a Comparator, and the Pearl Injector uses a Hopper. Gems such as Diamond and Emerald show up in the Dimensional Cells and the higher Power Cores.[5]
Some slots take any item from a shared tag rather than one fixed item. This applies to blaze rods in the blazing machines, ender pearls in the Endergenic and Ender Monitor, chests in the Pearl Injector, and glass panes in the Power Level. So a matching item from another mod will work in those slots.[5]
Recipes the pack changed
Two recipes are marked as changed by the pack: the Blazing Agitator and the Blazing Infuser. The other recipes in this mod are the mod's own. Craft these two as shown here, not as you might remember them from another pack.[5]

Which RFTools Power config options matter?
5 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Good news: every option in the RFTools Power server config is left at the mod default in this pack. Nothing was changed, so the numbers below are both the pack's values and the mod's own. Here are the ones you are most likely to care about.[6]
Coal generator
- general.coalgenerator.generatePerTick is 60 RF per tick, and general.coalgenerator.ticksPerCoal is 600 ticks per coal.[6]
- general.coalgenerator.generatorMaxRF sets the buffer at 500,000 RF, and general.coalgenerator.generatorRFPerTick lets it send 2,000 RF per tick.[6]
Power cell multiblock
- Tier 1 cells hold 500,000 RF (general.powercell.tier1MaxRF) at 250 RF per tick per side (general.powercell.tier1MaxRFPerTick).[6]
- Tier 2 cells hold 4,000,000 RF (general.powercell.tier2MaxRF) at 1,000 RF per tick per side (general.powercell.tier2MaxRFPerTick).[6]
- Tier 3 cells hold 20,000,000 RF (general.powercell.tier3MaxRF) at 4,000 RF per tick per side (general.powercell.tier3MaxRFPerTick).[6]
- A single network can have up to 729 blocks (general.powercell.networkMax).[6]
- general.powercell.rfPerTickScale is 0.25. It controls how much extra RF per tick each cell gets per cell in the network: 0 means constant, 1 means linear.[6]
Dimensional cell
- A normal cell stores 1,000,000 RF (general.dimensionalcell.rfPerNormalCell) with a base of 5,000 RF per tick (general.dimensionalcell.rfPerTick).[6]
- The simple cell is 4 times worse (general.dimensionalcell.simpleFactor) and the advanced cell 4 times better (general.dimensionalcell.advancedFactor), for both RF and RF per tick.[6]
- Pulling power from another dimension or from far away costs extra. The maximum cost factor is 1.1 (general.dimensionalcell.powerCellCostFactor), reached at a distance of 10,000 blocks (general.dimensionalcell.powerCellDistanceCap). The same distance is used for cells in different dimensions.[6]
- Unconnected cells use a minimum distance of 100 (general.dimensionalcell.powerCellMinDistance) for the cost factor. If RFTools dimensions are involved, the distance is multiplied by 0.5 (general.dimensionalcell.powerCellRFToolsDimensionAdvantage), and twice if both sides are RFTools dimensions.[6]
Endergenic generator
- It stores up to 5,000,000 RF (general.endergenic.endergenicMaxPower) and can send 20,000 RF per tick to adjacent blocks (general.endergenic.endergenicSendPerTick).[6]
- Holding a pearl uses 500 RF every tick (general.endergenic.endergenicRfHolding), and each endergenic keeps 2,000 RF for itself so it can hold pearls (general.endergenic.endergenicKeepRf).[6]
- general.endergenic.endergenicChanceLost is 5, measured in tenths of a percent (1000 is 100%), so that is the chance a pearl is lost while being held.[6]
- general.endergenic.powergenFactor is a power generation multiplier, set to 2.[6]
Blazing generator, agitator and infuser
- The blazing generator stores 1,000,000 RF (general.blazing.blazingGeneratorMaxPower) and gives 20,000 RF per side per tick to adjacent machines (general.blazing.blazingGeneratorSendPerTick).[6]
- The blazing agitator stores 50,000 RF (general.blazing.blazingAgitatorMaxPower), accepts 100 RF per tick per side (general.blazing.blazingAgitatorRFPerTick) and uses 10 RF per tick while operating (general.blazing.blazingAgitatorUsePerTick).[6]
- The blazing infuser uses the same numbers: 50,000 RF (general.blazing.blazingInfuserMaxPower), 100 RF per tick input per side (general.blazing.blazingInfuserRFPerTick) and 10 RF per tick in use (general.blazing.blazingInfuserUsePerTick).[6]
What changed in RFTools Power between versions?
1 part
There isn't much version history to tell for RFTools Power in this pack. FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.10.0 ships RFTools Power 1.21-7.0.6, and the mod was already in the pack by 1.0.3 or earlier.[7]
What changed in 1.21-7.0.6
- The mod's own changelog for 1.21-7.0.6 lists one change: the Patchouli manual documentation was updated and expanded.[8]
That is a documentation change, so if you want the latest details on the mod, the in-game manual is the place to look.[8]
