What is RFTools Power?
1 part
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.36 guide
RFTools Power is an addon for the RFTools mods that handles power. It gives you several ways to generate energy and a couple of ways to store a lot of it, so it's a good pick if you're already running RFTools machines and want power that fits the same family.[1]
This pack ships RFTools Power version 1.21-7.0.1.[2]
What you get
- A simple generator that burns coal or charcoal, which is your easy entry point into power.[1]
- The blazing generator, which makes power from blaze rods.[1]
- The endergenic generator, which makes power from ender pearls.[1]
- A dimensional powercell that stores power and moves it across great distances, even between dimensions.[1]
- A power storage multiblock for when you need to bank a lot of power.[1]
The generators follow a clear path: coal in the early game, blaze rods once you've been to the Nether, and ender pearls after that. On the storage side, the dimensional powercell is the one to reach for if your base is spread out or you want power in another dimension.[1]
Unverified No quest or progression data from this pack is available for this mod, so its exact place in the pack's progression is unconfirmed.
How do you get started with RFTools Power?
5 parts
This mod is an addon for the RFTools family that adds power generators and power storage. It needs RFTools Base, and several of the recipes here use the Machine Frame. Here is the order I'd make things in.[1][3]
Start with the Coal Generator
The Coal Generator is the simple generator of the mod. It produces RF/FE from coal or charcoal, so you can get power running early without a complicated setup.[1][4]

Add some storage
Next, make somewhere to keep that power. The Powercell (Low) stores power and can be combined with other cells into one big multiblock. Right click a cell with a wrench to toggle input or output mode for a side.[1][4]
A powercell needs a Power Core (Low), which is only a crafting ingredient for powercells. This pack changed the Power Core (Low) recipe, so use the one below rather than a default you remember.[3][4]

When you want more capacity, the Medium and High cells (Powercell (Medium) and Powercell (High)) are crafted from the cell below them plus a matching power core, so you upgrade rather than start over.[3]
Keep an eye on your power
The Power Level shows a digit for the amount of power in something and sends out a redstone signal with the same amount. The Power Monitor sends a redstone signal depending on the amount of power in its target block.[4]

Move up to blaze power
The Blazing Generator generates power from blaze rods, but they have to be agitated first in the Blazing Agitator. So you need both machines.[1][4]

Later you can add the Blazing Infuser, which infuses a blazing rod with dimensional shards, redstone or glowstone dust to improve the power production and/or its duration in the Blazing Generator.[4]
Save the advanced options for later
Two blocks go with it: the Pearl Injector injects an ender pearl into an adjacent endergenic generator when it gets a redstone signal, and the Ender Monitor detects changes in an adjacent endergenic generator and sends out a redstone signal.[4]
The Dimensional Cell line, starting with the Dimensional Cell (Simple), is the long-distance storage option. It can store and transfer power across great distances and other dimensions, and the Powercell Card is used to connect dimensional cells. The pack changed the recipes for the Simple cell, the standard Dimensional Cell and the card.[1][3][4]

How does RFTools Power work?
6 parts
RFTools Power adds power generators and power storage. Many of its recipes use a Machine Frame, so you will craft that part a lot. Below is how each system behaves in this pack.[1][3]
Generating power
The simplest option is the Coal Generator. It produces RF/FE from coal or charcoal. Its tooltip lists an infusing bonus of more power generation and a longer burn on a single fuel.[1][4]

The blaze rod chain
Blaze power takes three machines. The Blazing Generator turns blaze rods into power, but the rods must be 'agitated' first. That is the job of the Blazing Agitator, which produces Blazing Rods for the generator.[4]
The Blazing Infuser improves a Blazing Rod by infusing it with dimensional shards, redstone or glowstone dust. This improves the power production, the duration of the production, or both, when the rod is used in the generator. A Blazing Rod's tooltip shows its power, duration, time and what it is infused with.[4]
Each of these machines also has an infusing bonus in its tooltip. The Agitator gives better quality blazing rods, and the Generator gives more power generation.[4]

Endergenic setup
The Endergenic generates power from ender pearls. You need at least two generators for it to work, the setup is relatively complicated, and timing is crucial. Its infusing bonus gives more power generation and reduced power loss for holding pearls. The pack changed its recipe, so it differs from the mod default.[3][4]
Two helper blocks handle the timing. The Pearl Injector injects an ender pearl into an adjacent endergenic generator whenever it receives a redstone signal. The Ender Monitor sits next to an endergenic generator, detects various changes in it and sends out a redstone signal based on them.[4]

Powercell multiblock
The Powercells (Powercell (Low), Powercell (Medium) and Powercell (High)) store power. They can be combined with other cells to form a big multiblock. Right click a side with a wrench to toggle it between input and output mode.[1][4]
Each tier needs a matching power core (Power Core (Low), Power Core (Medium) or Power Core (High)). Cores are only crafting ingredients for powercells. The pack changed all three core recipes. The Medium and High cell recipes build on the cell of the tier below.[3][4]

Dimensional cells
Dimensional cells also store power, optionally as a big multi dimensional structure. They can store and transfer power across great distances and even between dimensions. They come as Dimensional Cell (Simple), Dimensional Cell and Dimensional Cell (Advanced). Their infusing bonus reduces the cost of long distance power extraction and increases the RF/tick output.[1][4]
You link cells together with the Powercell Card. The pack changed the recipes for the Simple and standard Dimensional Cells and for the card. The Advanced cell uses the mod's own recipe and is made from the standard cell.[3][4]

How do you progress through RFTools Power?
4 parts
The sources here show no quests for RFTools Power, so this page follows the recipes instead. I've grouped the mod into generators, power storage and monitoring, and flagged every recipe the pack changed from the mod's own.[3]
Unverified Where the pack's quest book places RFTools Power, if anywhere, is not shown in the sources here, so I can't say which quest chapter or what order it unlocks in.

How does RFTools Power work with other mods?
2 parts
RFTools Power is an addon for the RFTools mods, and it needs RFTools Base to work. You see that straight away in the crafting: almost every machine starts from a Machine Frame, and the monitors and the Power Level block start from a Machine Base. Some of the bigger machines also use Infused Diamond, Dimensional Shard or Infused Enderpearl, all from RFTools Base.[1][3]
Vanilla items and shared ingredient tags
Beyond RFTools Base, the recipes lean on vanilla items and on item tags. Where a recipe uses a tag, any item carrying that tag works, even if it comes from another mod.[3]
- The Blazing Generator, Blazing Agitator and Blazing Infuser each take any blaze rod from the blaze rod tag.[3]
- The Endergenic and the Ender Monitor each take any ender pearl from the ender pearl tag.[3]
- The Coal Generator accepts anything in the vanilla coals tag.[3]
- The Power Monitor uses a Comparator.[3]
- The Pearl Injector uses a Hopper and any chest from the chest tag.[3]
- The Power Level block uses any glass pane from the glass pane tag.[3]
Recipes the pack changed
Some recipes are not the mod's own. The pack changed the Dimensional Cell, the Dimensional Cell (Simple), the Endergenic, the Power Core (Medium) and the Power Core (High). They are the ones that pull in vanilla gems such as diamond, emerald and quartz, and the Dimensional Cell also uses a Prismarine Shard. If you have played RFTools Power elsewhere, check these recipes before you plan your build.[3]
