What is RFTools Power?
2 parts
RFTools Power is an addon for the RFTools mods that adds power generation and power storage. If you want your base running on something other than the basics, or you want to move energy around in big ways, this is the mod for you. It needs RFTools Base to work.[1]
This pack includes RFTools Power 1.21-7.0.6.[2]
What it adds
- A simple generator that burns coal or charcoal.[1]
- A generator that runs on blaze rods, the Blazing Generator.[1][3]
- A generator that runs on ender pearls, the Endergenic.[1][3]
- A dimensional powercell, which stores and transfers power across great distances and even between dimensions.[1]
- A multiblock power storage setup for storing a lot more power.[1]
Where it fits in this pack
The pack covers RFTools Power in its rftools_series quest chapter. All five quests there come after the same earlier quest in the chapter, so you can pick your own order.[3]
- "Endergenic Generation" quest is the ender pearl route. It asks for the Endergenic, the Pearl Injector and the Ender Monitor.[3]
- "Blazing Energy" quest is the blaze route. It asks for the Blazing Agitator and the Blazing Generator. After that, "Blazing Infuser" quest asks for the Blazing Infuser.[3]
- "Powercells" quest covers the multiblock storage cells: Powercell (Low), Powercell (Medium) and Powercell (High).[3]
- "Dimensional Cells" quest covers the Powercell Card and the dimensional cells: Dimensional Cell, Dimensional Cell (Simple) and Dimensional Cell (Advanced).[3]
Unverified The sources don't say whether the pack changes any of this mod's recipes or config values, so check each recipe page before you rely on a default.
How do you get started with RFTools Power?
5 parts
RFTools Power is an addon for the RFTools mods that adds power generators and power storage. It needs RFTools Base, so Base parts such as the Machine Frame show up in many of its recipes. Below is a sensible order for your first builds, following the pack's RFTools quest chapter.[1][4]
Start with the Blazing Generator
The Blazing Generator is the mod's generator that runs on blaze rods, so it is a good first power source. Its quest also asks for the Blazing Agitator, so craft both while you are there ("Blazing Energy" quest).[1][3]

Store it with Powercells
Next, build somewhere to keep your power. The quest for this asks for all three tiers: Powercell (Low), Powercell (Medium) and Powercell (High) ("Powercells" quest). The pack changed the recipe for the Power Core (Low), so follow the recipe below and not a guide for the mod's defaults.[3][4]

Move power with Dimensional Cells
The dimensional powercell can store and transfer power across great distances, even to other dimensions. Its quest asks for the Powercell Card, Dimensional Cell (Simple), Dimensional Cell and Dimensional Cell (Advanced) ("Dimensional Cells" quest). The pack changed the recipes for the card, the simple cell and the standard cell.[1][3][4]

How does RFTools Power work?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.6 guide
RFTools Power is an addon for the RFTools mods that adds power generators and power storage. It needs RFTools Base to work. The sources for this pack only explain the big picture, so this section covers what each system is for and how the pack changed the recipes. It does not cover exact numbers.[1]
Power generation
- Coal Generator: the simple option. It generates power from coal or charcoal.[1][5]
- Blazing Generator: generates power from blaze rods.[1][5]
- Endergenic: generates power from ender pearls. The pack changed its recipe, so don't rely on the mod's default.[1][5]

The pack also has recipes for the Blazing Agitator, Blazing Infuser, Pearl Injector and Ender Monitor. The sources don't say how they work with the generators.[5]
Dimensional cells
The dimensional cell is the mod's long-range storage. It can store power and transfer it across great distances, even between dimensions. The pack has three versions: Dimensional Cell (Simple), Dimensional Cell and Dimensional Cell (Advanced).[1][5]
The pack changed the recipes for the simple and standard cells. The advanced cell keeps the mod recipe, and you make it by upgrading a standard cell.[5]

Multiblock power storage
For bulk storage the mod has a multiblock that can store a lot of power. In this pack it comes in low, medium and high tiers. The Power Core (Low), Power Core (Medium) and Power Core (High) all use pack-changed recipes.[1][5]

The powercells follow the same tiers: Powercell (Low), Powercell (Medium) and Powercell (High). You craft the low cell from a low power core. The medium cell is crafted from a low powercell plus a medium power core, and the high cell from a medium powercell plus a high power core. So you upgrade a cell in place rather than starting over.[5]

Monitoring
The mod includes the Power Monitor and Power Level blocks, plus the Ender Monitor mentioned above. All three have mod-default recipes in the pack.[5]
Unverified The sources don't confirm power output or capacity numbers, how the storage multiblock is assembled, how the endergenic and its pearl injector work, what the blazing agitator and infuser do, what the powercell card does, how the monitors behave, or how to automate power, fluid or item transfer. This pack also ships no config files for the mod, so don't assume any config values.
How do you progress through RFTools Power?
5 parts
RFTools Power in this pack is laid out as a set of branches in the rftools_series quest chapter. Several quests unlock from the same earlier quest in the chapter, and one more unlocks after the Blazing quest. The quests have no titles in the pack files, so I'll describe each one by what it asks you to obtain.[3]
Powercells: Low, Medium, High
The simplest branch is quest "Powercells" quest. It asks for Powercell (Low), Powercell (Medium) and Powercell (High), so the powercell tiers are an obvious first goal.[3]
The pack has changed the recipes of the three Power Cores these cells depend on. Power Core (Low), Power Core (Medium) and Power Core (High) use pack recipes, not the mod defaults. The Medium and High cores both need a Dimensional Shard, so plan for that before you push past the Low tier.[4]

Dimensional Cells
Quest "Dimensional Cells" quest covers the Dimensional Cell side. It asks for the Powercell Card, Dimensional Cell, Dimensional Cell (Simple) and Dimensional Cell (Advanced).[3]
The pack changed the recipes for the Powercell Card, the Dimensional Cell and the Dimensional Cell (Simple). The Dimensional Cell (Advanced) keeps the mod's recipe and is crafted from a regular Dimensional Cell, so you make the standard cell before the advanced one.[4]

How does RFTools Power work with other mods?
4 parts
RFTools Power is an addon, so its biggest link is to RFTools Base. The mod requires it, and most of its machines are built on Base parts like the Machine Frame and Machine Base. Several other recipes also use Infused Diamond, Infused Enderpearl and Dimensional Shard.[1][4]
Base parts in the generators and storage
- The Blazing Generator needs an Infused Diamond and a Machine Frame, while the Blazing Infuser needs a Dimensional Shard and a Machine Frame.[4]
- The Endergenic is built around an Infused Enderpearl and a Machine Frame.[4]
- The Power Monitor, Power Level and Ender Monitor use the lighter Machine Base instead of the full frame.[4]
- The Dimensional Cell (Advanced) upgrades from a plain Dimensional Cell using an Infused Diamond.[4]
Recipes the pack changed
The pack has changed several recipes in this mod, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults. The changed ones are the Dimensional Cell, the Dimensional Cell (Simple), the Endergenic, the Power Core (Medium) and the Power Core (High). Here are the in-pack versions:[4]

Common tags and other-mod materials
Many recipes ask for a category of item rather than one specific item. The Blazing Agitator, for example, accepts any glass block, any iron ingot and any blaze rod from the common tags. The same goes for ender pearls, diamonds, emeralds, glass panes and chests in other recipes. Any mod that provides items in those tags can fill those slots.[4]

Quests
The mod's quests sit in the rftools_series chapter. They only ask for RFTools Power items, so they don't cover cross-mod crafting themselves. You get quests for the ender trio ("Endergenic Generation" quest), the powercell and dimensional cell line ("Dimensional Cells" quest), the Blazing Agitator and Generator ("Blazing Energy" quest) and the three Powercell tiers ("Powercells" quest). The Blazing Infuser has its own follow-up quest ("Blazing Infuser" quest), which comes after the Agitator and Generator quest.[3]
Which FTB Skies 2 quests use RFTools Power?
1 part
In this pack, RFTools Power shows up in one quest chapter, called "rftools_series". It has five quests, and none of them has a title. Each one just asks you to obtain the items listed below.[3]
Four of the five quests unlock after the same earlier quest in the chapter. That earlier quest isn't covered by the sources I have, so I can't say what it asks for. Once it's done, you can take these four in any order.[3]
- "Endergenic Generation" quest covers the endergenic setup. You need the Endergenic, the Pearl Injector and the Ender Monitor.[3]
- "Dimensional Cells" quest covers dimensional storage. You need the Powercell Card, the Dimensional Cell, the Dimensional Cell (Simple) and the Dimensional Cell (Advanced).[3]
- "Blazing Energy" quest starts the blazing line. You need the Blazing Agitator and the Blazing Generator.[3]
- "Powercells" quest covers the basic powercells. You need all three tiers: Powercell (Low), Powercell (Medium) and Powercell (High).[3]
The one follow-up quest
"Blazing Infuser" quest is the only quest in the chapter that depends on another RFTools Power quest. It unlocks after "Blazing Energy" quest and asks for a single item, the Blazing Infuser.[3]
Which RFTools Power config options matter?
5 parts
Good news: every option in the RFTools Power server config is left at the mod default in this pack. Nothing was changed, so the numbers below are both the pack's values and the mod's own. Here are the ones you are most likely to care about.[6]
Coal generator
- general.coalgenerator.generatePerTick is 60 RF per tick, and general.coalgenerator.ticksPerCoal is 600 ticks per coal.[6]
- general.coalgenerator.generatorMaxRF sets the buffer at 500,000 RF, and general.coalgenerator.generatorRFPerTick lets it send 2,000 RF per tick.[6]
Power cell multiblock
- Tier 1 cells hold 500,000 RF (general.powercell.tier1MaxRF) at 250 RF per tick per side (general.powercell.tier1MaxRFPerTick).[6]
- Tier 2 cells hold 4,000,000 RF (general.powercell.tier2MaxRF) at 1,000 RF per tick per side (general.powercell.tier2MaxRFPerTick).[6]
- Tier 3 cells hold 20,000,000 RF (general.powercell.tier3MaxRF) at 4,000 RF per tick per side (general.powercell.tier3MaxRFPerTick).[6]
- A single network can have up to 729 blocks (general.powercell.networkMax).[6]
- general.powercell.rfPerTickScale is 0.25. It controls how much extra RF per tick each cell gets per cell in the network: 0 means constant, 1 means linear.[6]
Dimensional cell
- A normal cell stores 1,000,000 RF (general.dimensionalcell.rfPerNormalCell) with a base of 5,000 RF per tick (general.dimensionalcell.rfPerTick).[6]
- The simple cell is 4 times worse (general.dimensionalcell.simpleFactor) and the advanced cell 4 times better (general.dimensionalcell.advancedFactor), for both RF and RF per tick.[6]
- Pulling power from another dimension or from far away costs extra. The maximum cost factor is 1.1 (general.dimensionalcell.powerCellCostFactor), reached at a distance of 10,000 blocks (general.dimensionalcell.powerCellDistanceCap). The same distance is used for cells in different dimensions.[6]
- Unconnected cells use a minimum distance of 100 (general.dimensionalcell.powerCellMinDistance) for the cost factor. If RFTools dimensions are involved, the distance is multiplied by 0.5 (general.dimensionalcell.powerCellRFToolsDimensionAdvantage), and twice if both sides are RFTools dimensions.[6]
Endergenic generator
- It stores up to 5,000,000 RF (general.endergenic.endergenicMaxPower) and can send 20,000 RF per tick to adjacent blocks (general.endergenic.endergenicSendPerTick).[6]
- Holding a pearl uses 500 RF every tick (general.endergenic.endergenicRfHolding), and each endergenic keeps 2,000 RF for itself so it can hold pearls (general.endergenic.endergenicKeepRf).[6]
- general.endergenic.endergenicChanceLost is 5, measured in tenths of a percent (1000 is 100%), so that is the chance a pearl is lost while being held.[6]
- general.endergenic.powergenFactor is a power generation multiplier, set to 2.[6]
Blazing generator, agitator and infuser
- The blazing generator stores 1,000,000 RF (general.blazing.blazingGeneratorMaxPower) and gives 20,000 RF per side per tick to adjacent machines (general.blazing.blazingGeneratorSendPerTick).[6]
- The blazing agitator stores 50,000 RF (general.blazing.blazingAgitatorMaxPower), accepts 100 RF per tick per side (general.blazing.blazingAgitatorRFPerTick) and uses 10 RF per tick while operating (general.blazing.blazingAgitatorUsePerTick).[6]
- The blazing infuser uses the same numbers: 50,000 RF (general.blazing.blazingInfuserMaxPower), 100 RF per tick input per side (general.blazing.blazingInfuserRFPerTick) and 10 RF per tick in use (general.blazing.blazingInfuserUsePerTick).[6]
What changed in RFTools Power between versions?
1 part
FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 ships with RFTools Power version 1.21-7.0.6. The pack's mod list shows it was first included in FTB Skies 2 1.0.1 or earlier.[2]
What changed in 1.21-7.0.6
The mod's own changelog for the version in the pack lists one change: the Patchouli manual documentation was updated and expanded. If you want to look something up in-game, that manual is the place to check.[7]
Unverified The pack changelogs have no entries for this mod, so the sources here do not show what changed for RFTools Power between individual FTB Skies 2 releases.
