What is Macaw's Lights and Lamps?

3 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 0.38 guide

Macaw's Lights and Lamps is a decoration mod that gives you vanilla-styled light sources beyond the ones in the base game. Think of it as a lighting upgrade for your builds: it is all about making your world brighter and better looking.[1]

What it adds

  • Tiki torches, street lamp posts, ceiling lights, lamps and paper lamps.[1]
  • Wall lanterns, new torches, light slabs and lanterns.[1]
  • Ceiling fan lights, candle holders and chandeliers.[1]

Lamps, street lights, tiki torches and ceiling lights can be made as tall as you want, from a 1 block tall lamp up to a 54 block tall one. You can also turn any of these lights on and off with a right click.[1]

Who it is for

If you like to build, this mod is for you. It is a simple decoration mod, so it suits anyone who wants lighting that looks better than torches and lanterns alone, whether that is a lit street, a tiki-style patio or a chandelier over your dining room.[1]

In this pack

The pack ships Macaw's Lights and Lamps 1.1.1, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1. The mod has been in the pack since version 0.32 or earlier, so it is a long-standing part of the mod list.[2]

Unverified No quests in this pack involve the mod, it is not on the ATM Star quest path, and no in-jar guidebook was found. Treat it as an optional building and decoration mod rather than a progression step. The sources do not confirm how its items are crafted in this pack, so check the recipe viewer in-game. This site does hold FTB Skies 2: Aero's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How do you get started with Macaw's Lights and Lamps?

5 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.10.0 guide

Macaw's Lights and Lamps adds new light sources: tiki torches, street lamp posts, ceiling lights, lamps, paper lamps, wall lanterns, ceiling fan lights, candle holders and chandeliers. Here is a sensible order to try them in, and every recipe block below is the exact one used in this pack.[1][3]

Start with a lantern

The Bell Lantern and the Chain Lantern are both simple crafts, so they make a good first step into the mod.[3]

From a lantern you can make its wall version with a shapeless recipe. The Bell Wall Lantern is crafted from the Bell Lantern, and the other lanterns have wall versions the same way.[3]

Tiki torches for outdoors

The Acacia Tiki Torch is a great outdoor light. Tiki torches come in several wood types, such as Birch Tiki Torch and Cherry Tiki Torch, plus a Bamboo Tiki Torch.[3][4]

Tip: Lamps, street lights, tiki torches and ceiling lights can be made as tall as you want, and the mod page mentions anything from 1 block up to 54 blocks. Everything can also be turned off and on with a right click.[1]

Street lamp posts for paths

One craft of the Street Lamp Post gives you 3 posts, so you can light a whole path quickly.[3]

Coloured lamps and ceiling lights

Lamps and ceiling lights come in several colours, for example the Black Lamp, the Black Ceiling Light, the Blue Lamp, the Brown Ceiling Light and the Cyan Lamp. The recipes for the black lamp and the black ceiling light are shown below.[3]

Paper lamps and copper decor

Coloured paper lamps, like the Red Paper Lamp, have their own shapeless recipe.[3]

For something fancier, the copper line includes the Copper Chain, the Copper Chandelier and the Copper Candle Holder.[3]
