What is Macaw's Lights and Lamps?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 0.38 guide
Macaw's Lights and Lamps is a decoration mod that gives you vanilla-styled light sources beyond the ones in the base game. Think of it as a lighting upgrade for your builds: it is all about making your world brighter and better looking.[1]
What it adds
- Tiki torches, street lamp posts, ceiling lights, lamps and paper lamps.[1]
- Wall lanterns, new torches, light slabs and lanterns.[1]
- Ceiling fan lights, candle holders and chandeliers.[1]
Lamps, street lights, tiki torches and ceiling lights can be made as tall as you want, from a 1 block tall lamp up to a 54 block tall one. You can also turn any of these lights on and off with a right click.[1]
Who it is for
If you like to build, this mod is for you. It is a simple decoration mod, so it suits anyone who wants lighting that looks better than torches and lanterns alone, whether that is a lit street, a tiki-style patio or a chandelier over your dining room.[1]
In this pack
The pack ships Macaw's Lights and Lamps 1.1.1, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1. The mod has been in the pack since version 0.32 or earlier, so it is a long-standing part of the mod list.[2]
Unverified No quests in this pack involve the mod, it is not on the ATM Star quest path, and no in-jar guidebook was found. Treat it as an optional building and decoration mod rather than a progression step. The sources do not confirm how its items are crafted in this pack, so check the recipe viewer in-game. This site does hold FTB Evolution 2's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you get started with Macaw's Lights and Lamps?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta guide
Macaw's Lights and Lamps is a simple mod that adds vanilla-styled light sources: tiki torches, street lamp posts, ceiling lights, lamps, paper lamps, wall lanterns, new torches, light slabs, lanterns, ceiling fan lights, candle holders and chandeliers. Everything is crafted at the crafting table, so you can start decorating as soon as you have materials.[1][3]
Step 1: a new torch
Start with the Framed Torch. The mod lists new torches as one of its light sources, and this one is a good way to see how the lights look next to vanilla blocks. The pack uses the mod's own recipe for it, and the block below shows it exactly.[1][3]

Step 2: light slabs and lamps
Next, try the Glowstone Slab. Light slabs are another category the mod adds.[1][3]

After that, make a lamp. There is a lamp for each colour, for example the Blue Lamp.[1][3]

Then go tall with street lamps and tiki torches
Once you are comfortable, build outdoor lighting. The Street Lamp Post (shown in game as Street Lamp Post) and the Bamboo Tiki Torch both have in-pack recipes.[1][3]

How does Macaw's Lights and Lamps work?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.10.0-beta guide
Macaw's Lights and Lamps is a mod about light sources: tiki torches, street lamp posts, ceiling lights, lamps, paper lamps, wall lanterns, new torches, light slabs, lanterns, ceiling fan lights, candle holders and chandeliers. The sources I have describe how you place, stack and toggle these blocks. They don't describe any machines, power, fluid or item handling for the mod, so this section stays short and sticks to what is confirmed.[1]
Building tall
Lamps, street lights, tiki torches and ceiling lights can be made as tall as you want. The project page's own example is a 1 block tall lamp or a 54 block tall one.[1]
The mod's in-game text tells you how: for the stackable lights and the tiki torches, you build taller by placing another one on top of the one you already have. That means a Street Lamp Post post or a Bamboo Tiki Torch grows one block at a time.[1][4]
Switching lights on and off
Per the project page, everything in the mod can be turned off and on with a right click. No redstone or power setup is described.[1]
Recoloring with dye
Some blocks carry the in-game hint "Right-click with any dye to recolor". When you see it on a light, you can change its color by right-clicking it with a dye. The sources don't list which blocks have this, so check the tooltip on the item you are holding.[4]
What drops when you break them
The block loot tables I can see are simple: breaking a block gives you that block's own item back. This holds for the ceiling fan lights, tiki torches, lanterns, candle holders and chandeliers in the sources, for example Acacia Ceiling Fan Light and Bell Lantern.[5][6][7]
The light slabs are the exception I can confirm. The Glowstone Slab drops 2 items when you break it in its double form, and that drop is reduced when the block is destroyed by an explosion.[8]
Crafting
The pack has 119 shaped crafting recipes and 23 shapeless crafting recipes that make items from this mod. Many of them give you several items per craft: lamps and ceiling lights come 6 at a time, and street lamp posts come 3 at a time.[9]

How do you progress through Macaw's Lights and Lamps?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.10.0-beta guide
Here's the honest picture for this pack: the sources I have show no quest chapter or tier ladder for Macaw's Lights and Lamps, so I won't invent one. What they do show is the crafting recipes. The mod's items fall into material groups, and you can work through them in whatever order suits your base.[9]
The recipe dump counts 119 shaped crafting recipes that make items from this mod, and each one gives a different result. Shapeless recipes cover the paper lamps and the wall lanterns. The ingredients aren't spelled out in the dump text, so the recipe blocks below are the place to check exactly what each item costs in this pack.[9]
Metal fixtures: copper, iron and gold
Copper, iron and golden fixtures each come in the same set of shapes: a candle holder, a double, a triple, a low and a wall candle holder, plus a chandelier and a small chandelier. Iron adds the Iron Framed Torch, and gold adds the Golden Chain. A single craft of a candle holder gives you 2, and a single craft of the golden chain gives you 3.[9]

Wood-themed lights
Tiki torches and ceiling fan lights come in wood variants: acacia, birch, cherry, crimson, dark oak, jungle, mangrove and oak. There's also a Bamboo Tiki Torch and a Pale Oak Ceiling Fan Light. Each craft gives you one item.[9]

Colored lamps and bulk crafts
Colored ceiling lights and colored lamps are crafted 6 at a time. Among the listed recipes are black, blue, brown, cyan, gray, green, light blue, light gray, lime, magenta and orange, for example Blue Ceiling Light and Blue Lamp. Other bulk recipes are the Glowstone Slab (6 per craft), the Framed Torch (4 per craft), and the Street Lamp Post and Double Street Lamp Post (3 per craft).[9]

Shapeless crafts
Paper lamps are shapeless recipes that each make one lamp. They exist in black, blue, brown, cyan, gray, green, light blue, light gray, lime, magenta, orange, pink, purple, red and yellow. The wall lanterns are shapeless too: bell, chain, covered, cross, festive, striped, tavern and the plain Wall Lantern. The hanging lantern types such as Bell Lantern, Chain Lantern, Covered Lantern and Cross Lantern are shaped recipes.[9]
