What is Create Stock Bridge?

2 parts

Create Stock Bridge connects Create's stock network with Applied Energistics 2. Create and AE2 both have strong crafting and storage, but they don't always get along, and this mod is the link between the two.[1][2]

The mod adds one block, the AE Stock Bridge. Items in the Create stock system show up as craftable items in AE. Going the other way, Create can request stored items from AE through the bridge, as long as you have a packager connected.[1]

The quest book describes it from the AE side too: the connected ME system can request items via a configured Frogport, and the Create system can withdraw items from the ME system's storage.[2]

Version in the pack

This pack ships Create Stock Bridge 0.2.0. It has been included since version 1.0.3 of the pack or earlier. The mod needs both Create and AE2 to work.[1][3]

Where it sits in the quest book

The quest "AE Stock Bridge" quest is in the "Create" chapter, which is in the "Tech Mods" group and is chapter 22 of 31 in the book. That chapter has 100 quests. The quest asks you to obtain the AE Stock Bridge, and it comes right after the Stock Ticker quest, so you'll meet Create's stock system first.[2]

I can't show you what follows it, because 58 of the chapter's 100 quests are not included here. Check the Create chapter in the quest book to see what comes next.[2]

How do you get started with Create Stock Bridge?

3 parts

Create Stock Bridge only adds one block, the AE Stock Bridge, and it links Create's stock system with AE2. Items in the Create stock system show up as craftable items in AE, and Create can request stored items from AE through the bridge. The quest book handles the progression for you, so you mostly follow one chain of quests.[1][2][4]

The order to follow

The bridge's quest sits in the "Create" chapter of the "Tech Mods" group, which is chapter 22 of 31 in the book. It unlocks after the Stock Ticker quest, so you work toward it from the start of the chapter.[2]

  1. Start with "Welcome to Create!" quest. The quest asks you to craft Andesite Alloy, and you'll need a lot of it.[2]
  2. Do "Early-game Rotational Force" quest for shafts and cogwheels, then "Andesite Casing" quest, which the quest says is used to craft most early-game blocks and machines.[2]
  3. Next is "Plates" quest. It covers the plates you need to progress into later Create and also asks for the Mechanical Press.[2]
  4. From Plates, grab "Item Vault" quest and "Transmitter" quest. Both feed into the next step.[2]
  5. Complete "Stock Link" quest, which sets up a stock network of your items, then "Stock Ticker" quest, which lets you request filtered items from that network.[2]
  6. Finish with "AE Stock Bridge" quest and craft the bridge.[2]

The bridge recipe also uses plates, including one from the Brass Age line, so "The Brass Age" quest and "Brass Plate" quest are worth doing along the way.[2][5]

Crafting the bridge

The pack changed this recipe, so don't rely on what the mod does by default. Here is the exact in-pack version:[5]

Setting it up

The quest explains that the bridge lets the connected ME system request items via a configured Frogport, and lets the Create system withdraw items from the ME system storage. "Package Frogport" quest comes after Item Vault and covers moving packages over a Chain Conveyor network.[2]

  1. Right-click the bridge to bind it to the stock network before you place it.[4]
  2. Place it, then set its Package Address to match the Frogport address.[4]
  3. AE can then request items by "crafting", and Create can request stored items from AE.[4]
Watch out: Bind the bridge to the stock network before placing it. That is the order the mod's own Ponder gives.[4]
Tip: The mod has its own Ponder scene, "Connecting the Stock System to AE". Hover over the item in JEI or your inventory to see if it has a Ponder.[2][4]

How does Create Stock Bridge work?

4 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

Create Stock Bridge is a small compatibility mod with one job: it connects the Create stock network to your AE2 storage. Everything revolves around a single block, the AE Stock Bridge.[1][6]

What the bridge does

Items in the Create stock system show up in AE as craftable items. That means AE can request items from your Create network by 'crafting' them.[1][6]

It also works the other way. Create can request items stored in AE through the bridge, as long as you have a packager connected.[1][6]

Setting it up

  1. Right-click with the bridge to bind it to the stock network before you place it.[6]
  2. Place the bridge and set its address to match the Frogport address.[6]
  3. If you want Create to pull items out of AE, connect a packager to the bridge.[1]
Tip: Bind the bridge before you place it. The binding step comes first in the in-game Ponder scene, so don't skip it.[6]

Crafting the bridge

The bridge is crafted from parts of both mods, including a Stock Link, a Stock Ticker, an ME Interface and an Engineering Processor. Here is the exact recipe used in the pack:[7]

What the sources don't cover

Unverified The sources don't explain power use, fluid handling, throughput limits, or how many bridges one network supports. The pack also has no config files for this mod. Test these in your own world before you rely on them.

How do you progress through Create Stock Bridge?

3 parts

Create Stock Bridge adds a single item to this pack, the AE Stock Bridge. The sources show no tiers or upgrade levels for it, so progression here means reaching its quest and crafting it.[2][5]

The bridge's quest sits in the Create chapter of the quest book (group "Tech Mods", chapter 22 of 31). It is one of the later quests in that chapter, at the end of the stock network line.[2]

The quest path

Each quest lists the one before it, so you can follow the chain from the very start of the chapter:[2]

  1. "Welcome to Create!" quest is where the chapter starts. You craft Andesite Alloy and get your first look at Ponder, Create's in-game documentation.[2]
  2. "Early-game Rotational Force" quest covers shafts and cogwheels, the basic way to move rotational force around.[2]
  3. "Andesite Casing" quest comes next. Andesite Casings are used to craft most early-game blocks and machines.[2]
  4. "Plates" quest asks for an iron, copper or gold plate plus the Mechanical Press. The quest says you need these plates to progress into later Create.[2]
  5. "Item Vault" quest and "Transmitter" quest both follow Plates. The Item Vault is an interfaceless storage block, and the Transmitter is a key crafting component for some electronic systems.[2]
  6. "Stock Link" quest needs both the Item Vault and Transmitter quests done first. Stock Links let you set up and manage a stock network of your items.[2]
  7. "Stock Ticker" quest follows the Stock Link. Stock Tickers let you request a set of filtered items from a linked stock network.[2]
  8. "AE Stock Bridge" quest is the last step. It follows the Stock Ticker and asks for the AE Stock Bridge itself.[2]

What the bridge does

The quest explains the purpose: Create and Applied Energistics 2 don't always play nice with each other when it comes to storage. The bridge lets the connected ME system request items via a configured Frogport, and lets the Create system withdraw items from the ME system storage.[2]

Crafting it in this pack

The pack has changed the recipe for the AE Stock Bridge, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults. This is the exact in-pack recipe:[5]

The Stock Bridge quest comes after Stock Ticker, so working through the chain above in order takes you through the stock network quests before the bridge.[2]

How does Create Stock Bridge work with other mods?

3 parts

Create Stock Bridge has one job: it connects Create's stock network with Applied Energistics 2. The AE Stock Bridge is the block that does it, and both Create and AE2 are required for the mod to work.[1]

What the bridge does

Items in the Create stock system show up as craftable items in AE. In the other direction, Create can request items stored in AE through the bridge, as long as a packager is connected.[1]

The pack's quest book describes the same split. Create and AE2 both have strong crafting, but they don't always get along when it comes to storage. The bridge lets the connected ME system request items via a configured Frogport, and lets the Create system withdraw items from the ME system's storage.[2]

Crafting it

The recipe is a shaped crafting recipe that the pack has changed, so use the one below rather than anything you remember from the mod's defaults. It combines parts from Create (Stock Link and Stock Ticker), Applied Energistics 2 (Engineering Processor and ME Interface) and the pack's own material plates (Brass Plate and Iron Plate).[5]

This is the pack's changed version of the recipe, not the mod default.

Where it sits in the quest book

The quest "AE Stock Bridge" quest is in the "Create" chapter, which is in the "Tech Mods" group (chapter 22 of 31 in the book). It asks you to get the AE Stock Bridge and comes after the Stock Ticker quest. Since the Stock Ticker is also an ingredient in the bridge recipe, it makes sense to have one ready first.[2][5]

The "Create" chapter has 100 quests, and the text of 70 of them is not covered here. Check the quest book for the rest of what the chapter says.[2]

Which FTB Skies 2: Aero quests use Create Stock Bridge?

1 part

The mod has one quest, and it sits in the "Create" chapter. That chapter is in the "Tech Mods" group of the quest book, chapter 22 of 31, and holds 100 quests. The quest is "AE Stock Bridge" quest, and it asks you to get the AE Stock Bridge.[2]

The quest explains the idea like this: Create and Applied Energistics 2 both have strong crafting, but they don't always work well together for storage. The bridge lets the connected ME system request items through a configured Frogport, and lets the Create system withdraw items from the ME system storage.[2]

Where it sits in the chapter

The bridge quest comes right after "Stock Ticker" quest. To get there you follow a chain of Create quests, in this order:[2]

  1. "Welcome to Create!" quest is the chapter's starting quest. It asks for Andesite Alloy.[2]
  2. "Early-game Rotational Force" quest asks for a cogwheel, a large cogwheel and a shaft.[2]
  3. "Andesite Casing" quest asks for Andesite Casing.[2]
  4. "Plates" quest asks for an iron, copper or gold plate, plus a Mechanical Press.[2]
  5. "Item Vault" quest and "Transmitter" quest both come after Plates. They ask for an Item Vault and a Transmitter.[2]
  6. "Stock Link" quest comes after both the Item Vault and Transmitter quests. It asks for a Stock Link.[2]
  7. "Stock Ticker" quest asks for a Stock Ticker. The quest text says it requests a set of filtered items from a linked stock network.[2]
  8. "AE Stock Bridge" quest is the AE Stock Bridge quest itself.[2]

The bridge talks about a Frogport, and the chapter has a quest for that too. "Package Frogport" quest comes after the Item Vault quest. It asks for a Package Frogport, which the quest text says transfers packages across your network using Chain Conveyors.[2]

"Redstone Requester" quest also comes after Stock Link. It asks for a Redstone Requester, which requests specific items from a linked stock network when pulsed with a redstone signal.[2]

What changed in Create Stock Bridge between versions?

1 part

FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.10.0 ships Create Stock Bridge 0.2.0. The mod has been in the pack since version 1.0.3 or earlier, so 0.2.0 is the version you are playing with.[3]

Mod version 0.2.0

This release is mostly fixes for package handling and AE integration, plus a couple of extras:[8]

  • Chinese and Portuguese translations were added.[8]
  • Package requests that didn't send all of their items were fixed.[8]
  • Request handling was improved so multiple items can be sent per package.[8]
  • Create Promises that never completed when items were inserted into AE were fixed.[8]
  • The Create Re-Packager not working in some cases with packages from AE was fixed.[8]
  • Redstone signals not setting the priority was fixed.[8]
Tip: If you hit a package or AE problem from an older version of this mod, check whether it is in the list above. Request, promise and re-packager bugs were the main focus of 0.2.0.[8]
