What is Create: Copycats+?
1 part
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.2 guide
Create: Copycats+ (Create: Copycats+) gathers a huge range of copycat blocks into a single mod. The pack includes version 3.0.9 of it for NeoForge.[1][2]
What it adds
The project page lists copycat versions of the basics, such as blocks, slabs, stairs, fences and walls. You also get plenty of smaller and stranger shapes, so here are the highlights:[1]
- Slices, vertical slices and corner slices, which can be resized to 8 different sizes.[1]
- Copycat bytes, mini-blocks that you place and dismantle individually. 8 of them form a full block.[1]
- Copycat boards, 1-pixel thick panels. You can put several in the same block space, like glow lichen.[1]
- Copycat doors, trapdoors, fence gates, buttons, pressure plates and ladders.[1]
- Create-flavoured pieces: copycat fluid pipes, shafts, cogwheels and large cogwheels.[1]
The page also describes a connected-texture system, where copycats connect their textures to each other as long as they have a matching block face. Shift-right-clicking a door with an empty hand toggles that connection. Note that this description comes from the project page, which highlights an older release than the one in the pack.[1][2]
Which Create: Copycats+ config options matter?
3 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.10.0 guide
Create: Copycats+ keeps its settings in a common file, a client file and a server file. In this pack most of them sit at "everything on", so there's only a handful worth knowing about.[3][4][5]
Feature toggles (common)
The mod lets you switch copycats on or off individually, and in this pack the feature toggles in the common file are set to true. That includes things like features.copycat_ghost_block, features.copycat_byte and features.copycat_sliding_door. Each one is a key under "features" in the common file.[1][4]
There are also broader category toggles, and the pack has these set to true:[4]
- feature_categories.create: all copycats mimicking blocks from Create.[4]
- feature_categories.functional: copycats with extra functions or interactions.[4]
- feature_categories.multistates: copycats that support multiple materials in a single block.[4]
- feature_categories.redstone: copycats that can emit a redstone signal.[4]
- feature_categories.slopes: copycats with a sloped surface.[4]
- feature_categories.stackables: copycats that can be resized by putting in more of the same copycat.[4]
Visuals (client)
- useEnhancedModels is true. It uses more complex copycat models to improve appearance with certain materials.[5]
- colorizeMultiStates is false. Turning it on colorizes the different parts of multi-state copycats so you can tell them apart visually.[5]
- disableGraphicsWarnings is false, so the mod's warnings about graphics settings that may cause issues stay on.[5]
Stress impact (server)
The server file sets the stress impact of the copycat cogwheel, the large copycat cogwheel and the copycat shaft to 0 in this pack: stressValues.v1.impact.copycat_cogwheel, stressValues.v1.impact.copycat_large_cogwheel and stressValues.v1.impact.copycat_shaft.[3]
