What is Replication AE2 Bridge?
2 parts
Replication AE2 Bridge is a small addon that links Applied Energistics 2 with the Replication mod. It adds one block, the AE2-Replication Bridge, which lets your AE2 system read your Replication matter network. The pack ships version 1.8.0.0.1 of the mod.[1][2][3]
If you already run an ME system and want it to handle Replication for you, this is the mod that ties the two together. With the bridge in place you can:[1][3][4]
- See the amount of Replication matter in your AE2 terminals.[1][3]
- Make Replication requests through AE2's autocrafting system.[1][3]
- Automate disintegrators using processing patterns.[1]
- Set a crafting priority on the bridge, so you can control the order in which requests are processed.[3]
Setting it up at a glance
Place the bridge where it can reach both networks. Connect an AE2 ME cable to one side and a Replication matter pipe to another side.[3]
Use only one Replication network per bridge. By default, a bridge can handle about 20 replicators at once. If you want to run more than that, use a crafting CPU with a high number of Crafting Co-processing Units.[3]
Where it fits in the pack
The bridge shows up in the pack's "ae2" quest chapter. Quest "AE2-Replication Bridge" quest has you obtain the AE2-Replication Bridge, and it unlocks after another quest in that chapter. So the pack treats it as part of your AE2 progression, and you only need it once you want AE2 and Replication working together.[5]
How do you get started with Replication AE2 Bridge?
4 parts
There is really only one thing to craft for this mod: the AE2-Replication Bridge. It's the block that links your Applied Energistics 2 (AE2) ME system to your Replication matter network, so it's the first and only item you need to get started.[1][3][4]
Step 1: Craft the bridge
The pack has two crafting recipes for the bridge, and both give the same result. Either one works, so use whichever you can fill in more easily.[6]

If you follow the questbook, the ae2 chapter has a quest "AE2-Replication Bridge" quest that asks you to obtain the bridge. It unlocks after another quest in the same chapter.[5]
Step 2: Place and connect it
- Place the bridge somewhere that can reach both your AE2 network and your Replication network.[3]
- Connect an AE2 ME cable to one side of the block.[3]
- Connect a Replication matter pipe to another side of the block.[3]
Once it's connected, the bridge acts as a translator between the two systems. You can see Replication matter amounts in your AE2 terminals and request replications through AE2's autocrafting. The mod's project page also says you can automate disintegrators with processing patterns.[1][3]
Step 3: Set a priority (optional)
Right-click the bridge to open its priority screen and type a number into the field. Higher values are processed first, and 0 is the default. The accepted range is -2,147,483,648 to +2,147,483,647. This matters most when you run several bridges, for example a high priority on your main production bridge and a low one on a backup.[3]
Setup tips
- Use only one Replication network per bridge.[3]
- By default, one bridge can handle about 20 replicators at the same time.[3]
- To run more replicators than that, use a crafting CPU with a high number of Crafting Co-processing Units.[3]
Unverified Which AE2 and Replication items you should build before the bridge, and in what order, isn't covered by the sources I have. The bridge recipe uses items from AE2 and the Replication mod, so you'll need basic AE2 progress first, but the exact order is unconfirmed.
How does Replication AE2 Bridge work?
7 parts
The AE2-Replication Bridge is the block this mod adds. It lets Applied Energistics 2 read your Replication network, so matter data shows up inside your ME system. Everything in this section is about how that block behaves.[1][3][4]
What the bridge does
The bridge works as a translator between the two networks. Replication matter data becomes accessible in the ME system, and the reverse works too. That gives you these abilities:[3]
- See your Replication matter quantities in AE2 terminals.[1][3]
- Request replications through AE2's autocrafting system.[1][3]
- Automate disintegrators by using processing patterns.[1]
Crafting the bridge
The pack has a main shaped recipe for the bridge and an alternate one that gives the same result. Here is the main one:[6]

Alternate recipe for the same block.
Placing and connecting
The bridge has to sit where it can reach both networks. Then you connect a cable from each network:[3]
- Place the bridge block at a point that can reach both networks.[3]
- Connect an AE2 ME cable to one side of the block.[3]
- Connect a Replication matter pipe to another side of the block.[3]
Power
The bridge's energy consumption rate is set by bridgeEnergyConsumption, and the pack sets it to 500 AE/t. That is the same as the mod default. The value must be greater than 0.[7]
Priority
The bridge has a priority setting that controls the order in which crafting requests are processed. It matters most when you run several bridges or want certain items handled first. Right-click the bridge to open the priority screen and type a value into the number field. Any value from -2,147,483,648 to +2,147,483,647 is accepted. Higher values are processed first and lower values later.[3]
- Positive values (1-1000) mean high priority, processed early.[3]
- Zero is the default priority with normal processing order.[3]
- Negative values (-1 to -1000) mean low priority, processed later.[3]
The guide suggests 100-500 for bridges that handle critical production items. It suggests -100 to -500 for bridges that only provide backup crafting capacity. For testing or experimental crafting it suggests going lower still, to -1000 or below.[3]
Scaling your setup
- Use only one Replication network per bridge.[3]
- By default, a bridge can handle about 20 replicators at the same time.[3]
- To run more replicators, use a crafting CPU with a high number of Crafting Co-processing Units.[3]
- Set priorities according to your production needs and available resources.[3]
Config options worth knowing
Stability fixes are switched on in the pack: enableNetworkBlockEntityFix and enableNetworkManagerFix. The first wraps the registration of Replication network elements in a safety net, so an exception during loading can't crash the server. The second prevents 'Element network is null' crashes while the world loads. That crash comes from a race condition that affects all Replication network blocks, such as pipes and replicators. Only turn either fix off if another mod already provides it or it causes conflicts. Both need a game restart to take effect.[7]
enableDebugLogging is off in the pack. When enabled, it adds aggressive logging for troubleshooting, including network state dumps and reconnection logs. bridgeCustomMatterConfigPath points to the directory holding the bridge's matter declaration files, and the pack keeps it at the default value of config.[7]
How do you progress through Replication AE2 Bridge?
4 parts
This mod doesn't have tiers of its own in the sources I was given. It's a single block, the AE2-Replication Bridge, so progression here means when you unlock it and how you scale it up.[3][5][6]
Where it sits in the quests
The bridge has one quest, "AE2-Replication Bridge" quest, in the AE2 chapter. Its task is simply to obtain the bridge item. It unlocks after another quest in the same chapter, so you reach it as part of your normal Applied Energistics 2 progression.[5]
Crafting it
The pack has two shaped crafting recipes for the bridge, and both give the same result. They are listed as the mod's own recipes, not pack overrides. Here they are as the site renders them.[6]

Setting it up
The bridge connects your AE2 ME system to a Replication matter network. Place it where it can reach both networks, connect an ME cable to one side, and connect a Replication matter pipe to another side.[3][4]
- Once connected, you can view matter quantities from the Replication network in AE2 terminals and request replications through AE2 autocrafting.[3]
- Right-click the bridge to open its priority screen. Higher values are processed first, and the allowed range is -2,147,483,648 to +2,147,483,647.[3]
- Use only one Replication network per bridge.[3]
Scaling up
By default, one bridge can handle about 20 replicators at once. If you want to run more than that, the in-game guide recommends a crafting CPU with a high number of Crafting Co-processing Units.[3]
Unverified The sources don't say which Replication mod quests or machines you should have before the bridge, so check your quest book for what comes before it.
How does Replication AE2 Bridge work with other mods?
4 parts
This mod is a bridge between two other mods: Applied Energistics 2 (AE2) and Replication. It adds one block, the AE2-Replication Bridge, that lets your ME system read the Replication matter network. That is the whole point of the mod, so everything here is about how those two mods meet.[1][4]
What the bridge lets AE2 do
- Show the amount of Replication matter in your AE2 terminals.[1][3]
- Let you request replications through AE2's autocrafting system.[1][3]
- Automate disintegrators using processing patterns.[1]
- Set a crafting priority on the bridge, so you control the order in which requests are processed. Right-click the block and enter a value from -2,147,483,648 to +2,147,483,647. Higher values are processed first.[3]
Crafting the bridge
The bridge's recipe in this pack uses components from both AE2 and Replication, which fits its job of joining the two. There are two recipe entries, and both produce the same block.[6]

Hooking it up
- Place the bridge where it can reach both networks.[3]
- Connect an AE2 ME cable to one side of the block.[3]
- Connect a Replication matter pipe to another side.[3]
Quest tie-in
The pack's "ae2" quest chapter includes the quest "AE2-Replication Bridge" quest, which has an item task for the AE2-Replication Bridge. It comes after another quest in the same chapter, so you reach the bridge as part of your AE2 progression.[5]
Unverified The sources do not give the quest a title or description, so what it asks you to do beyond its item task is unconfirmed. They also do not show whether the pack changes any of the mod's default values.
Which FTB Skies 2 quests use Replication AE2 Bridge?
This mod only shows up in one place in the quest book: the AE2 chapter. There's a single quest that involves it, so this section is short.[5]
The quest "AE2-Replication Bridge" quest has no title in the pack. Its task is an item task for the AE2-Replication Bridge, so you're being asked to get the bridge block itself.[5]
It comes after the quest "Storage Bus" quest, so finish that one first. That prerequisite is the only ordering information the pack gives for this mod's quest.[5]
Unverified The quest book data doesn't show any rewards for this quest, or what the prerequisite quest asks for, so check them in-game.
Which Replication AE2 Bridge config options matter?
2 parts
Replication AE2 Bridge keeps everything in a single file, config/rep_ae2_bridge-common.toml. It's a short file, and there's good news: for the two options where the file lists a mod default, this pack leaves the value exactly as the mod ships it.[7]
Options you might actually touch
- bridgeEnergyConsumption is the energy the bridge uses, measured in AE/t. The pack sets it to 500, the same as the mod default, and the value must be greater than 0. If your AE2 network is tight on power, this is the number to look at.[7]
- bridgeCustomMatterConfigPath is the directory the bridge reads its matter declaration files from. The pack sets it to "config", which is also the mod default.[7]
- enableDebugLogging is set to false in the pack. Turning it on enables aggressive debug logging for troubleshooting, including network state dumps and reconnection logs. Only flip it when you're chasing a problem.[7]
Crash-protection fixes
Two options switch on safety fixes, and the pack has both enabled (true). Both need a game restart to take effect if you change them. The file says to disable them only if another mod provides the same fix or they cause conflicts.[7]
- enableNetworkBlockEntityFix wraps the Replication network block entity's element registration in a try-catch. That stops any RuntimeException during network element registration from crashing the server.[7]
- enableNetworkManagerFix prevents 'Element network is null' crashes while a world is loading. It fixes a race condition in Titanium's network merging that affects all Replication network blocks, such as pipes and replicators.[7]
Unverified The file doesn't list mod defaults for the debug logging option or the two fix options, so I can't say whether the pack changed them.
What changed in Replication AE2 Bridge between versions?
2 parts
FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 ships Replication AE2 Bridge 1.8.0.0.1, and the mod has been in the pack since 1.0.1 or earlier. I don't have any pack changelog entries for this mod, so everything below comes from the mod's own changelogs.[2]
Recent versions
- 1.8.0.0.1 (the version in your pack): the mod now has its own creative tab instead of putting items in the AE2 creative tab. Equivalent items for matters were also added to that tab, so they show up in JEI and similar mods.[2][8]
- 1.8.0.0.0: matter is now separated from items using AE2 types. It is enabled by default for new terminals.[9]
- 1.7.0.2.0: fixed a server crash with the message "Element network is null!" that could happen while loading a world, when a Replication network block (pipes, replicators, matter tanks and so on) tried to merge with neighbours whose networks weren't ready yet. The changelog says this was a race condition in Titanium's NetworkManager, not something specific to the bridge.[10]
- 1.7.0.2.0 also added two fixes for that problem. Both are on by default and can be toggled separately in the config file, and a game restart is needed for a change to apply. They protect all Replication network blocks, and worlds that previously crashed on load should now be able to start.[10]
- 1.7.0.1.2: added missing logs to the debug log flag.[11]
- 1.7.0.1.0: removed an unnecessary and problematic mixin on Titanium.[12]
Earlier versions
- 1.3.0.0.8: the mod's internal queue was removed, and it now uses Replication's own task queue directly. That improves how the current matter is displayed, lets you run multiple tasks at the same time, and fixes bugs with replicators in infinite mode.[13]
- 1.3.0.0.6: fixed bridges not being activated at startup in some contexts.[14]
- 1.3.0.0.1: a potential fix for a crash when right-clicking a bridge on servers.[15]
- 1.3.0.0.0: you can now set a priority for the bridge.[16]
- World unloading: a bug where the game got stuck when unloading a world took several attempts to fix, across 1.2.0.1.2, 1.2.0.1.3, 1.3.0.0.2 and 1.3.0.0.3. The 1.3.0.0.3 changelog says the world unloading control should now work correctly.[17][18][19][20]

Show settings
| Setting | FTB Skies 2 value | Mod default |
|---|---|---|
bridgeCustomMatterConfigPath Legacy option (unused). Custom matter items are auto-created from the matter type registry; rep_ae2_bridge_matters.json is no longer read or written. config/rep_ae2_bridge-common.toml | config | not documented |
enableDebugLogging Enable aggressive debug logging for troubleshooting (includes network state dumps and reconnection logs) config/rep_ae2_bridge-common.toml | false | not documented |
enableNetworkBlockEntityFix Enable the Replication NetworkBlockEntity mixin that wraps addElement() in onLoad() with a try-catch safety net. This prevents ANY RuntimeException during network element registration from crashing the server. Only disable this if another mod provides the same fix or it causes conflicts. Requires game restart to take effect. config/rep_ae2_bridge-common.toml | true | not documented |
enableNetworkManagerFix Enable the Titanium NetworkManager mixin that prevents 'Element network is null' crashes during world loading. This fixes a race condition in Titanium's mergeNetworksIntoOne() that affects ALL Replication network blocks (pipes, replicators, etc.). Only disable this if another mod provides the same fix or it causes conflicts. Requires game restart to take effect. config/rep_ae2_bridge-common.toml | true | not documented |
bridgeEnergyConsumption Energy consumption rate (AE/t) for the RepAE2Bridge config/rep_ae2_bridge-common.toml | 500 | 500 |
