What is Replication AE2 Bridge?

2 parts

Replication AE2 Bridge connects Applied Energistics 2 with the Replication mod. It adds one block, the AE2-Replication Bridge, which lets your ME system read the Replication matter network.[1][2][3]

This pack ships version 1.2.0.1.3 of the mod, and it has been in the pack since 1.0.1 or earlier.[4]

What it does for you

  • Shows the amount of Replication matter in your AE2 terminals.[1][3]
  • Lets you request replications through AE2's autocrafting system.[1][3]
  • Lets you automate disintegrators using processing patterns.[1]

It's for you if you already run an AE2 network and want Replication to be part of it instead of managing a separate system. The bridge converts items to and from matter automatically through the AE2 interface. Each item has its own matter composition, which decides how much of each matter type a replication needs.[2][3][5]

The matter types are Metallic, Earth, Nether, Organic, Ender, Precious, Quantum and Living.[5]

Basic setup

  1. Place the bridge at a point that can reach both networks.[3]
  2. Connect an AE2 ME cable to one side of the block.[3]
  3. Connect a Replication matter pipe to another side.[3]
Tip: Use only one Replication network. By default the bridge handles about 20 replicators at once. For more than that, use a crafting CPU with a high number of Crafting Co-processing Units.[3]

Unverified The sources I have don't place this mod in the pack's progression, so I can't say when you're expected to start using it.

How do you get started with Replication AE2 Bridge?

4 parts

The first thing to make with this mod is the AE2-Replication Bridge. It's a single block that connects your AE2 ME system to the Replication matter network, so the two setups can talk to each other.[1][2][3]

Step 1: Craft the bridge

The pack gives you two crafting recipes for the bridge, and both produce the same block. Here's the main one:[6]

The alternate recipe for the same block.

Step 2: Place and connect it

  1. Place the bridge block at a spot that can reach both your AE2 network and your Replication network.[3]
  2. Connect an AE2 ME cable to one side of the block.[3]
  3. Connect a Replication matter pipe to another side of the block.[3]

Why start here

Once the bridge is connected, AE2 can read your Replication network. That gives you a few useful things:[1][3]

  • You can see how much Replication matter you have in your AE2 terminals.[1][3]
  • You can request replications through AE2's autocrafting system.[1][3]
  • You can automate disintegrators using processing patterns.[1]

Know your matter types

Replication sorts everything into matter types. The basic ones are Metallic, Earth, Nether and Organic. The advanced ones are Ender, Precious, Quantum and Living. Each item has its own matter composition, which decides how much of each type a replication needs. The bridge handles the conversion between items and matter through the AE2 interface.[5]

Tip: Keep to one Replication network. By default the bridge can handle about 20 replicators at once. If you want more than that, use a crafting CPU with a high number of Crafting Co-processing Units.[3]

Unverified I couldn't confirm any pack-specific changes to this mod's values, and no quests are confirmed to cover it. Treat the figures above as the mod's own guidance, not as pack-tested numbers.

How does Replication AE2 Bridge work?

6 parts

The AE2-Replication Bridge is the only block this addon adds, and it does one job. It links your AE2 ME network to a Replication matter network so the two can share information.[1][3]

What the bridge does

The bridge works as a translator between the two systems. Replication matter data becomes visible inside your ME system, and requests can go the other way too.[3]

  • It shows the amount of Replication matter in your Applied Energistics 2 terminals.[1][3]
  • It lets you request replications through AE2's autocrafting system.[1][3]
  • It lets you automate disintegrators using processing patterns.[1]

Crafting the bridge

The pack has two recipe entries for the bridge. Both craft the same item, and both are shown below so you can see the exact in-pack layout.[6]

Alternate recipe entry for the same item.

Placing and connecting it

  1. Place the bridge somewhere that can reach both networks.[3]
  2. Connect an AE2 ME cable to one side of the block.[3]
  3. Connect a Replication matter pipe to another side of the block.[3]

Power

The bridge's energy use is set by bridgeEnergyConsumption, which is measured in AE/t. This pack sets it to 500, which is the same as the mod default, so the pack hasn't changed it. The value must be greater than 0.[7]

Matter types

Replication sorts materials into matter types, and each item has its own matter composition. That composition decides how much of each type is needed to replicate it. The bridge lets you convert items to and from matter automatically through the AE2 interface.[5]

  • Metallic matter covers metallic items such as iron, gold, copper and their alloys. It also covers most technological components.[5]
  • Earth matter covers stone, dirt, sand and most overworld building blocks.[5]
  • Nether matter covers Nether materials such as netherrack, soul sand and nether bricks.[5]
  • Organic matter covers plants, seeds, wood and other organic materials that are not alive.[5]
  • Ender matter covers End-related materials and items with teleportation or dimensional properties.[5]
  • Precious matter covers rare and valuable materials such as diamonds, emeralds and enchanted items.[5]
  • Quantum matter is the most advanced form, used for highly complex or magical items.[5]
  • Living matter covers materials from living creatures, such as meat, leather and mob drops.[5]

Scaling your setup

  • Use only one Replication network with the bridge.[3]
  • By default, the bridge can handle about 20 replicators at the same time.[3]
  • To support more replicators, use a crafting CPU with a high number of Crafting Co-processing Units.[3]

Unverified The sources don't give per-item matter costs, how many ME channels the bridge uses, or exact pattern setups for automating disintegrators. Check these in-game before you build around them.

How do you progress through Replication AE2 Bridge?

4 parts

Replication AE2 Bridge adds a single block, the AE2-Replication Bridge, and the sources describe no tiers or upgrade levels for it. It connects your AE2 ME network to a Replication matter network. So the path here is simple: get your AE2 and Replication setups running, craft the bridge, then join them.[2][3]

Step 1: Craft the bridge

The pack has two crafting recipes for the bridge, a main one and an alternate. Both give you the same block.[6]

Step 2: Place and connect it

  1. Place the bridge at a spot that can reach both networks.[3]
  2. Connect an AE2 ME cable to one side of the block.[3]
  3. Connect a Replication matter pipe to another side of the block.[3]

Once it's linked, you can view the matter quantities in the Replication network from your ME system. You can also request replications through AE2's autocrafting system.[3]

Step 3: Scale it up

  • Use only one Replication network.[3]
  • The in-game guide says the bridge can handle about 20 replicators at the same time by default.[3]
  • To support more replicators, use a crafting CPU with a high number of Crafting Co-processing Units.[3]

Matter types

The bridge has no tiers, but the in-game guide does split Replication matter into basic and advanced types. Here is how it describes them.[5]

  • Basic: Metallic matter covers iron, gold, copper, their alloys and most technological components. Earth matter covers stone, dirt, sand and most overworld building blocks. Nether matter covers things like netherrack, soul sand and nether bricks. Organic matter covers plants, seeds, wood and other non-living organic materials.[5]
  • Advanced: Ender matter covers End-related materials and items with teleportation or dimensional properties. Precious matter covers rare materials like diamonds, emeralds and enchanted items. Quantum matter is the most advanced type, used for highly complex or magical items. Living matter covers materials from living creatures, such as meat, leather and mob drops.[5]

Each item has its own matter composition, and that decides how much of each matter type you need to replicate it. The bridge handles the conversion to and from matter through the AE2 interface.[5]

How does Replication AE2 Bridge work with other mods?

3 parts

This mod is a bridge between two other mods: Applied Energistics 2 (AE2) and Replication. The AE2-Replication Bridge block lets your ME system read the Replication network, so you can manage matter and replication from your AE2 terminals.[1][2]

What the bridge does

  • It shows the amount of Replication matter in your AE2 terminals.[1]
  • It lets AE2 systems make Replication requests, through AE2's autocrafting system.[1][3]
  • It lets you automate disintegrators using processing patterns.[1]

Crafting the bridge

The bridge recipe is built around AE2 parts, so you need to be set up with AE2 before you can make one. The pack has two recipes that give the same result, and both are shown below.[6]

Hooking it up

  1. Place the bridge at a spot that can reach both networks.[3]
  2. Connect an AE2 ME cable to one side of the block.[3]
  3. Connect a Replication matter pipe to another side of the block.[3]
Tip: Use only one Replication network with the bridge. By default, it can handle about 20 replicators at once. For more than that, use a crafting CPU with a high number of Crafting Co-processing Units.[3]

That figure of about 20 replicators is the mod's documented default. None of the sources show the pack changing it.[3]

Unverified Quests that involve this mod could not be confirmed from the available sources, so none are covered here.

Which Replication AE2 Bridge config options matter?

1 part

Good news: this mod keeps its config short. The only option the pack documents is bridgeEnergyConsumption, and it lives in the common config file.[7]

Bridge energy consumption

This option sets how much energy the bridge uses, measured in AE/t. The pack sets it to 500, which is the same as the mod default, so the pack did not change it. Any value you use must be greater than 0.[7]

The bridge is the block that lets AE2 read your Replication network, so this is the running cost of that link. Keep it in mind when you size your AE2 power supply.[1][7]

Tip: Nothing in this config differs from the mod default in this pack. If you edit the value, you are moving away from how the pack ships it.[7]

Unverified Whether other options exist in this mod's config, and whether changing the energy value needs a world or server restart, is not confirmed by the available sources.

What changed in Replication AE2 Bridge between versions?

1 part

FTB Skies 2 1.3.1 ships Replication AE2 Bridge at version 1.2.0.1.3, in the NeoForge 1.21.1 build. The mod was first included in FTB Skies 2 1.0.1 or earlier.[4]

The pack changelogs have no entries for this mod, so this history comes only from the mod's own changelogs. Two releases have notes.[4]

Mod releases

  • 1.2.0.1.2: another attempt to resolve a world unloading bug.[8]
  • 1.2.0.1.3: a further attempt to solve the world getting stuck at unloading. This is the version in FTB Skies 2 1.3.1.[4][9]

Both changelogs word these as attempts, so the notes do not say the unloading problem is fully solved.[8][9]
