What is GeOre Nouveau?

GeOre Nouveau is one of the mods bundled in the pack. This pack ships version 0.5.9, using the file GeOre_Nouveau-1.21.1-0.5.9.jar, which is built for Minecraft 1.21.1.[1]

Unverified The sources I have don't describe what GeOre Nouveau does, who it is aimed at, or any of its items, recipes or configs, so I'm not guessing at them here. Check the mod in-game before relying on any specific behavior.

Unverified The sources don't show any quests in this pack that involve the mod, and they don't place it on the ATM Star path. Treat it as something outside the guided progression until a source says otherwise.

How do you get started with GeOre Nouveau?

3 parts

Your first step with GeOre Nouveau is to craft a dowsing rod for an ore you want to find. The mod has rods for a long list of materials, from Coal GeOre Dowsing Rod and Iron GeOre Dowsing Rod up to Diamond GeOre Dowsing Rod and Ancient Debris GeOre Dowsing Rod. Each of these has a crafting recipe in this pack.[2]

Why start with a dowsing rod

When you use a rod, it grants Magic Find and Scrying. Magical creatures glow, and the matching GeOre is revealed through blocks. So the iron rod shows you Iron GeOre, the copper rod shows you Copper GeOre, and so on. That makes the rod your scanner for finding the ore you need.[3]

The rods have a second use too. You can use one on an Imbuement Chamber or an Enchanting Apparatus to highlight its linked pedestals.[3]

Crafting your first rods

The pack changed most of the rod recipes from the mod's defaults. The recipe blocks below show the real in-pack versions, so follow those rather than any other guide.[2]

The coal, quartz, redstone and ancient debris rods still use the mod's own recipe. Every other rod in the recipe list, including diamond, emerald, gold, lapis, tin and zinc, has a pack-changed recipe.[2]

Tip: Check the recipe block for the exact rod you want before you gather materials. Most pack-changed rods take an ingot or a gem, the Monazite rod takes a dust, and the Uraninite rod takes a raw material.[2]

Charms

The mod also has charms. The Iron charm, for example, is obtained by performing the Ritual of Awakening near Budding Iron GeOre. These are something to come back to once you are comfortable with the rods.[3]

How does GeOre Nouveau work?

3 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide

Here's the honest picture for this one: the material available for GeOre Nouveau in this pack only covers a few of its systems. It describes the charms, the dowsing rods and the GeOre Golem conversions. It doesn't explain machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or automation, so I won't guess at those.[4]

GeOre Golem conversions

The mod adds a recipe viewer category called GeOre Golem Conversion. Its description says that only a GeOre Golem of a specific type can perform a given conversion, so check the type shown in that category before you start.[4]

Charms and the Ritual of Awakening

Each ore type has its own charm. A charm is obtained by performing the Ritual of Awakening near the matching Budding GeOre. For example, the Copper charm needs a Budding Copper GeOre nearby, and the Diamond charm needs a Budding Diamond GeOre.[4]

Charms exist for vanilla materials such as coal, iron, gold, diamond, emerald, lapis, redstone, quartz and ancient debris. They also exist for modded ones such as allthemodium, unobtainium, osmium, uranium, tin and silver. The list is long, but the tooltip text is the same apart from the ore name.[4]

Dowsing rods

Every ore type also has a matching dowsing rod. Using one grants Magic Find and Scrying. Magical creatures glow, and the GeOre of that rod's type is revealed through blocks. That makes the rod a handy way to track down the right GeOre before you try the ritual for its charm.[4]

The rods can also be used on the Imbuement Chamber and the Enchanting Apparatus, where they highlight the linked pedestals. This is useful when you're checking a setup for those blocks.[4]

Tip: Match the rod to the ore you want. The tooltip says each rod reveals its own type of GeOre, so pick the rod named after the ore you're hunting.[4]

Unverified Crafting recipes for the charms and rods and any config settings for this mod are not shown by the sources available here, so they are not covered in this section.

How do you progress through GeOre Nouveau?

3 parts

GeOre Nouveau doesn't have a tier ladder that the pack data lays out. What the sources do show is a set of GeOre dowsing rods, one per material, each crafted from the Ars Nouveau Dowsing Rod plus one matching material.[2]

How the rods are crafted

Every rod is a shaped crafting recipe built on the base Ars Nouveau Dowsing Rod plus a single material item. Since the recipe pattern is the same for all of them, your real progression is simply which material you can get your hands on first.[2]

Rods with the mod's own recipe

These rods still use the mod's own recipe, so the pack hasn't touched them:[2]

Rods the pack changed

Every other rod has a recipe the pack changed. Each one asks for any item from the matching common tag (ingots, gems, dusts or raw materials) rather than one fixed item.[2]

The Copper rod is an example of a recipe the pack changed.

Tip: Craft the rod for whatever ore you're short on at the moment. The Ars Nouveau Dowsing Rod is the shared base for every rod, so make sure you can get it first.[2]

Unverified Whether the pack's quest book has any quest involving this mod is not shown by the sources here, so there is no quest order to follow for the rods. Check the quest chapters in game.

How does GeOre Nouveau work with other mods?

2 parts

In this pack, GeOre Nouveau connects to another mod through its crafting recipes. Every GeOre dowsing rod is built on the Dowsing Rod, so you need that rod before you can make any GeOre rod.[2]

The second ingredient decides which ore the finished rod is tied to. This is where the pack comes in, because most of these recipes have been changed by the pack.[2]

Rods that keep the mod's own recipe

A few rods still use the mod's original recipe. They pair the Dowsing Rod with a single Minecraft item, so you don't need materials from any other mod for them.[2]

Rods the pack changed

Every other GeOre rod has a recipe changed by the pack. These recipes accept any item from a shared material tag, so any matching ingot, gem, dust or raw material in that tag works alongside the Dowsing Rod. The sources here don't show what the original mod recipes looked like.[2]

Tip: Because the pack-changed recipes use shared material tags, you don't have to hunt for one specific ingot or gem. Any item in the matching tag works with the Dowsing Rod.[2]
