What is GeOre Nouveau?

1 part

GeOre Nouveau is in the pack at version 0.5.9, built for Minecraft 1.21.1. In this pack you'll meet it mainly through GeOre Golem Charms, one for each ore or gem type.[1][2]

The pack's quest book puts these charms in the Ars Nouveau chapter. Each charm has its own quest, and every one unlocks after a quest called GeOre Golems. So treat it as an Ars Nouveau add-on that you work through alongside that chapter.[2]

Which charms the quests cover

The quests cover vanilla materials like Coal GeOre Golem Charm, Iron GeOre Golem Charm, Gold GeOre Golem Charm, Diamond GeOre Golem Charm and Ancient Debris GeOre Golem Charm. They also cover modded metals and gems such as Osmium GeOre Golem Charm, Uranium GeOre Golem Charm, Ruby GeOre Golem Charm and Black Quartz GeOre Golem Charm.[2]

Tip: The note on the Coal charm quest says that charm only gives you coal GeOre conversions, even though JEI suggests otherwise. It also says other conversions have different paths, so don't expect one charm to cover every ore.[2]

Unverified The sources don't confirm exactly how the golems work, how the charms are crafted, or where the mod sits in the pack's overall progression. The mod is also not on the ATM Star quest path. Check the in-game quests before you plan around it.

How do you get started with GeOre Nouveau?

4 parts

GeOre Nouveau is the Ars Nouveau add-on in this pack that works around GeOre, and its main tool is the GeOre Golem. There is no in-jar guidebook to lean on, so this section only covers what the pack's quests and the mod's own tooltips confirm.[2][3]

Step 1: Find the quest chain

In the Ars Nouveau quest chapter there is a quest called GeOre Golems. Every GeOre Golem Charm quest comes after it, so treat it as your starting point. Each charm quest asks you to hold one charm, and there is one per ore type, from Coal GeOre Golem Charm and Iron GeOre Golem Charm up to Diamond GeOre Golem Charm and Emerald GeOre Golem Charm.[2]

Step 2: Get your first charm

You don't craft charms at a table. Each charm's tooltip says you get it by performing the Ritual of Awakening near the matching Budding GeOre. For example, the Coal charm needs Budding Coal GeOre nearby, and the Iron charm needs Budding Iron GeOre.[3]

Tip: Pick the charm whose Budding GeOre you can actually reach first. The ritual has to happen near the matching Budding GeOre, so a charm for an ore you haven't found yet will have to wait.[3]

Step 3: Know what each golem can convert

The mod adds a JEI category called GeOre Golem Conversion. Its note says only a golem of the matching type can perform a given conversion, so check that category before you plan around a particular golem.[3]

Watch out: The quest for the Coal GeOre Golem Charm says JEI is misleading here. The Coal charm only gives you coal GeOre conversions, not conversions for anything else, and the other conversions have different paths.[2]

Step 4: Use dowsing rods to locate GeOre

The mod also has dowsing rods for each GeOre type. Using one grants Magic Find and Scrying, makes magical creatures glow, and reveals that type of GeOre through blocks. They can also be used on the Imbuement Chamber and the Enchanting Apparatus to highlight linked pedestals.[3]

Unverified The sources don't show how to obtain the dowsing rods or the golems themselves, and no recipes in the sources produce this mod's items. Check JEI in your world before you plan around them. This site does hold All the Mods 10: To the Sky's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How does GeOre Nouveau work?

3 parts

Here's the honest picture for this one: the material available for GeOre Nouveau in this pack only covers a few of its systems. It describes the charms, the dowsing rods and the GeOre Golem conversions. It doesn't explain machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or automation, so I won't guess at those.[3]

GeOre Golem conversions

The mod adds a recipe viewer category called GeOre Golem Conversion. Its description says that only a GeOre Golem of a specific type can perform a given conversion, so check the type shown in that category before you start.[3]

Charms and the Ritual of Awakening

Each ore type has its own charm. A charm is obtained by performing the Ritual of Awakening near the matching Budding GeOre. For example, the Copper charm needs a Budding Copper GeOre nearby, and the Diamond charm needs a Budding Diamond GeOre.[3]

Charms exist for vanilla materials such as coal, iron, gold, diamond, emerald, lapis, redstone, quartz and ancient debris. They also exist for modded ones such as allthemodium, unobtainium, osmium, uranium, tin and silver. The list is long, but the tooltip text is the same apart from the ore name.[3]

Dowsing rods

Every ore type also has a matching dowsing rod. Using one grants Magic Find and Scrying. Magical creatures glow, and the GeOre of that rod's type is revealed through blocks. That makes the rod a handy way to track down the right GeOre before you try the ritual for its charm.[3]

The rods can also be used on the Imbuement Chamber and the Enchanting Apparatus, where they highlight the linked pedestals. This is useful when you're checking a setup for those blocks.[3]

Tip: Match the rod to the ore you want. The tooltip says each rod reveals its own type of GeOre, so pick the rod named after the ore you're hunting.[3]

Unverified Crafting recipes for the charms and rods and any config settings for this mod are not shown by the sources available here, so they are not covered in this section.

How do you progress through GeOre Nouveau?

1 part

GeOre Nouveau doesn't have a tier ladder in this pack. Its progression is a single set of quests in the Ars Nouveau chapter, and each quest asks you to get one GeOre Golem Charm for a different ore or gem type.[2]

Every one of those quests comes after the GeOre Golems quest. Once you've reached that point, none of the charm quests is locked behind another charm, so you can chase them in whatever order suits your base.[2]

The charm quests

The quests are untitled in the quest book, so here is which quest wants which charm. The vanilla-style resources come first.[2]

The rest cover resources added by other mods.[2]

Watch out: Don't trust JEI for the coal charm. The quest author says it is not a general GeOre converter: you won't get any GeOre conversions other than coal from it, and other paths exist for the rest.[2]

Unverified The sources I have don't show how to obtain these charms, so there are no recipes here. They also don't show what order the charms are meant to be done in, or what each charm does beyond the coal note above.

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use GeOre Nouveau?

2 parts

In this pack, GeOre Nouveau shows up in one quest chapter: the Ars Nouveau chapter. Every quest there asks you to obtain one of the GeOre Golem Charms, one quest per charm.[2]

Order

There's no chain to climb here. Every one of these quests comes right after the same quest, called GeOre Golems. Once that one is done, all the charm quests are available together, so you can take them in any order you like.[2]

Unverified The sources don't say which chapter holds the GeOre Golems quest or what it asks for, so check it in your quest book.

What each quest asks for

Watch out: The coal charm quest has a joke description claiming it converts Unobtainium Blocks into Budding GeOre, and the quest text says that's JEI misleading you. According to the quest, this charm only gives you the coal conversion, and other GeOre conversions come from different paths.[2]

The sources only list the charms each quest asks for. They don't give rewards or crafting details, so check the quest book in game for those.[2]
