What is Simple Rich Discord Presence?

3 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

Simple Rich Discord Presence adds Discord Rich Presence to the game. While you play, your Discord status shows a short message under the pack name, such as "In Overworld" or "In Nether", plus a small image with hover text.[1]

This pack ships the NeoForge build of the mod for Minecraft 1.21.1, and it was already included in 1.22.0 or earlier.[2]

What you can configure

  • clientId is the ID of the Discord app the presence is shown through.[1]
  • enable lets you turn Discord Rich Presence off completely by setting it to false.[1]
  • screenEvent controls the built-in event that tells Discord when you're on the main menu. Set it to false to disable it.[1]
  • clientJoinEvent controls the built-in event that fires when you join a world or change dimension. Set it to false to disable it.[1]

For pack makers and tinkerers

The mod has KubeJS integration. SDRP.setState takes a message, an image name for the hover text, and an image key. SDRP.getCurrentState returns the state the client is currently set to.[1]

For dimensions, the text comes from lang keys of the form sdrp.<dimension path>.in for the message and sdrp.<dimension path> for the hover text. You can edit or add these with data packs or with a mod like KubeJS. If you use your own Rich Presence application, the image keys are logo, loading and menu, and dimension images use the dimension's registry path, such as overworld, the_nether or the_end.[1]

Where it fits in the quest book

Unverified The sources here do not show any chapter, group or position for this mod in the pack's quest book, nor whether the ATM Star path uses it, so its place in the quest book is unverified.

How do you get started with Simple Rich Discord Presence?

3 parts

Simple Rich Discord Presence is a small utility mod, not a progression mod. It sets your Discord Rich Presence, which is the status other people see on your Discord profile while you play. That means there is nothing to craft first, and no machine or tool to unlock.[1]

Unverified The sources here show no recipes, items to craft or quests for this mod in the pack, so there is no first-items order to follow. They also include no config file for it from the pack.

What it shows

The presence shows a message under the pack name, for example "In Overworld" or "In Nether", plus a small image. Hovering over the small image shows text such as "Overworld" or "Nether".[1]

  • A built-in screen event tells Discord when you are on the main menu.[1]
  • A built-in client join event updates the status when you join a world and when you change dimension.[1]

Options the mod offers

According to the mod's project page, it has an option for your Discord App ID and one to turn Rich Presence off entirely. It also has separate switches for the main menu event and the join and dimension event.[1]

Unverified The sources here do not show how this pack sets those options or which values it uses, so check the pack's own files if you want to change them.

Changing the text

The text comes from lang keys. The message uses the key "sdrp.<registry name path of the dimension>.in", and the hover text uses "sdrp.<registry name path of the dimension>". The project page says lang keys can be modified and added through data packs and through mods like KubeJS.[1]

The mod also has a KubeJS integration. SDRP.setState takes a message, an image name and an image key, and SDRP.getCurrentState returns the state the client is currently set to. The image keys logo, loading and menu are for people using their own Rich Presence Application, and dimensions use their registry path, such as overworld or the_nether.[1]

How does Simple Rich Discord Presence work?

3 parts

Simple Rich Discord Presence is about your Discord status. It sets a Rich Presence line under the pack name, like "In Overworld" or "In Nether", plus a small image that shows a hover text such as "Overworld" or "Nether".[1]

Built-in events and options

The project page lists these options: clientId (your Discord App ID), enable (set it to false to turn Discord Rich Presence off), screenEvent and clientJoinEvent.[1]

  • screenEvent: the built-in event that tells Discord when you are on the main menu. Set it to false to disable it.[1]
  • clientJoinEvent: the built-in event that fires when you join a world and when you change dimension. Set it to false to disable it.[1]

Unverified These options come from the mod's project page. The sources here show no config file for this mod in the pack, so whether the pack changes any of these values is unverified. If the pack ships a config file for the mod, that is where the values are set.

KubeJS integration

The mod exposes functions to KubeJS. SDRP.setState takes message, imageName and imageKey, all as strings. SDRP.getCurrentState returns the state the client is currently set to.[1]

  • message: the text shown under the pack name, like "In Overworld" or "In Nether". You can pass plain text or a lang key.[1]
  • imageName: the text shown when you hover over the small image, like "Overworld" or "Nether". You can pass plain text or a lang key.[1]
  • imageKey: the name of the Rich Presence art asset to show, like loading, overworld or menu.[1]

The project page's example lives in kubejs/startup_script/sdrp.js. It listens for the Forge event net.minecraftforge.event.entity.EntityJoinWorldEvent. When the entity is a player and the world is client side, it reads the dimension's registry path and calls SDRP.setState with lang keys built from that path. That updates your status when you join a world or change dimension.[1]

Image keys and lang keys

If you use your own Rich Presence application, the image keys are logo, loading and menu. For dimensions, the key is the registry name path of the dimension: overworld, the_nether, the_end, or something like yamda_dim for a modded one.[1]

The text is driven by lang keys. The message, such as "In Overworld", uses sdrp.<registry name path of the dimension>.in. The hover text on the small image uses sdrp.<registry name path of the dimension>. You can change and add these lang keys with data packs or with mods like KubeJS.[1]

Which Simple Rich Discord Presence config options matter?

4 parts

Most of what you will touch for Simple Rich Discord Presence lives in one client file. The sources here do not show the mod's own defaults, so everything below is simply how the pack sets each option, not a list of what the pack changed.[3]

The main switches

  • enabled is true in the pack. Set it to false if you do not want Discord Rich Presence at all.[3]
  • enableUpdateDimensionPresence is true. It controls the built-in event that notices when you join a world and when you change dimension. Turn it off and your status stops following you between dimensions.[3]
  • enableUpdateScreenPresence is true. It controls the built-in screen event that tells Discord when you are on the main menu or another enabled screen.[3]
  • logState is false. Switch it on if you want the mod to log the state it is sending to Discord, which is handy for debugging.[3]

Discord app and buttons

clientId is the Discord App ID the presence is sent through, and the pack sets it to 1556013623246200800. buttons is an empty list in the pack, so no custom buttons show on your profile. The option allows at most 2 buttons, each with a label and a URL.[3]

Dimension messages

dimensionsSupport is where the pack decides what your status says in each dimension. Each entry has a matcher, a message, an image key, an image name and a prefixWithIn flag, which is false everywhere in the pack.[3]

The pack gives custom text to the Overworld, Nether and End, plus the Stellaris dimensions stellaris:moon ("On the Moon") and stellaris:earth_orbit ("In Earth Orbit"). It also covers the Witchery dream, nightmare and mirror worlds, the Neo Vitae dungeon, the Quantum dimension, the jamd mining, nether and end dimensions, and javd:void ("In the Void"). The mirror world reuses the dream world image key.[3]

The last entry is a catch-all regex matcher. Any dimension without its own entry shows "In {{dimension.name}}" with the menu image, so unlisted modded dimensions still get a sensible status.[3]

Tip: Matchers are checked against the full dimension id, namespace included. If you add your own startsWith or regex entry, remember to handle the namespace as well, for example the "minecraft:" part.[3]

Screens

screens has a single entry in the pack. The title screen, the multiplayer join screen and the world selection screen all use the message sdrp.mainmenu with the menu image.[3]

What changed in Simple Rich Discord Presence between versions?

1 part

FTB Evolution 2 1.1.0 ships Simple Rich Discord Presence version 26.1.2.1. The mod has been in the pack since FTB Evolution 2 1.0.2 or earlier, so it is not a new addition in this release.[4]

26.1.2.1

  • The mod no longer depends on ClothConfig. It uses Nanite Library instead.[5]
  • Fixes issues introduced by the previous update for 26.1.[5]

That is the only mod changelog entry the sources here cover, so I can't tell you about changes in earlier versions of the mod.[5]

Items and blocks

We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as sdrp, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser

dimensionsSupport
Dimensions can be setup to update the Rich Presence when the player is in them. Due to the complex nature of modded dimensions, we've added support for different matchers here with support for variable replacement in the various fields. Note: When comparing, the full dimension identifier is used (e.g. minecraft:overworld, modid:custom_dimension) meaning if you use a startsWith, regex, etc, you need to handle the namespace as well. Helper matchers are provided for doing blanket matches on just the namespace or path. Supported matchers: - exact@<string> : Exact match - contains@<string> : Contains substring - startsWith@<string> : Starts with substring - endsWith@<string> : Ends with substring - regex@<pattern> : Matches regex pattern (Java regex syntax) - namespace@<string> : Matches namespace - path@<string> : Matches path Variables: - {{dimension.name}}: The translated dimension name (e.g. dimension.minecraft.overworld = Overworld). This is NeoForge standards, not all mods follow this, nor will all have their own lang keys added. - {{dimension.path}}: The dimension identifier (e.g. overworld) excluding the namespace - {{dimension.namespace}}: The dimension namespace (e.g. minecraft, modid) - {{dimension.identifier}}: The full dimension identifier (e.g. minecraft:overworld) - {{player.uuid}}: The player's UUID - {{player.name}}: The player's in-game name - Please let us know if there are any other variables you'd like to see added! /
