Simple Rich Discord Presence is a mod in FTB Skies 2 1.24.0, where it is version 88.0.1-build.54+mc1.21.1. Simple Discord Rich Presence (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is Simple Rich Discord Presence?

3 parts

Simple Rich Discord Presence adds Discord Rich Presence to the game. While you play, your Discord status shows a short message under the pack name, such as "In Overworld" or "In Nether", plus a small image with hover text.[1]

This pack ships the NeoForge build of the mod for Minecraft 1.21.1, and it was already included in 1.22.0 or earlier.[2]

What you can configure

  • clientId is the ID of the Discord app the presence is shown through.[1]
  • enable lets you turn Discord Rich Presence off completely by setting it to false.[1]
  • screenEvent controls the built-in event that tells Discord when you're on the main menu. Set it to false to disable it.[1]
  • clientJoinEvent controls the built-in event that fires when you join a world or change dimension. Set it to false to disable it.[1]

For pack makers and tinkerers

The mod has KubeJS integration. SDRP.setState takes a message, an image name for the hover text, and an image key. SDRP.getCurrentState returns the state the client is currently set to.[1]

For dimensions, the text comes from lang keys of the form sdrp.<dimension path>.in for the message and sdrp.<dimension path> for the hover text. You can edit or add these with data packs or with a mod like KubeJS. If you use your own Rich Presence application, the image keys are logo, loading and menu, and dimension images use the dimension's registry path, such as overworld, the_nether or the_end.[1]

Where it fits in the quest book

Unverified The sources here do not show any chapter, group or position for this mod in the pack's quest book, nor whether the ATM Star path uses it, so its place in the quest book is unverified.

How do you get started with Simple Rich Discord Presence?

2 parts

There is no crafting order to follow for this one. The project page describes Simple Rich Discord Presence as a config and KubeJS-based way to control what your Discord profile shows while you play, so your first steps are about settings, not items.[1]

The config options

The project page lists these config options:[1]

  • clientId is your Discord App ID. It matters if you want to use your own Rich Presence application.[1]
  • enable is the master switch. Set it to false if you want to turn Discord Rich Presence off.[1]
  • screenEvent is the built-in event that tells Discord when you're on the main menu. Set it to false to disable it.[1]
  • clientJoinEvent is the built-in event that fires when you join a world or change dimension. Set it to false to disable it.[1]

Changing the text and images

The message under the pack name, such as "In Overworld" or "In Nether", comes from a lang key in the form sdrp.<dimension path>.in. The text shown when you hover over the small image comes from sdrp.<dimension path>. The dimension path is the registry name path of the dimension, such as overworld, the_nether or the_end.[1]

You can edit or add those lang keys with data packs or with a mod like KubeJS. If you use your own Rich Presence application, the image keys are logo, loading and menu, plus one key per dimension path.[1]

KubeJS scripts can also call SDRP.setState with a message, an image name and an image key. SDRP.getCurrentState tells you the state the client is currently set to.[1]

How does Simple Rich Discord Presence work?

7 parts

Simple Rich Discord Presence has no machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation. As far as the sources show, all it does is tell Discord what you're doing in the game, such as sitting on the main menu or playing in a certain dimension. So this section covers how that presence is built and configured.[1][3]

Unverified No recipes produce this mod's items, and the sources here describe no machines, multiblocks, power, fluid or item handling for it. Don't expect any of those mechanics from it.

What the mod sends to Discord

Each presence state has a message (the line like "In Overworld"), an image name (the text you see when hovering over the small image) and an image key (which art asset to show). The message and the image name can each be plain text or a lang key.[1]

The mod has built-in event systems. A screen event tells when you're on the main menu or other enabled screens. A join event tells when you join a world or change dimension.[1][3]

Config in this pack

In the plain JSON config, enabled is set to true.[4]

In the other config file for this mod, enabled is also set to true. Its comment says to set it to false if you wish to disable Discord Rich Presence.[3]

The sdrp-common.json settings

  • screenEvent is true, so the screen-based presence is on.[4]
  • clientJoinEvent is false. The mod's project page says this event is what tracks joining a world and changing dimension, so with it off the pack doesn't use that built-in tracking here.[1][4]
  • logState is true, so the mod logs the state it sends to Discord.[3][4]
  • buttons holds the buttons "Join us on Discord!" and "Download the FTB App".[4]
  • clientId is the Discord application ID the presence is sent under. The pack sets its own value here, and it differs from the one in the other config file.[1][3][4]

The sdrp-common.json5 settings

  • enableUpdateScreenPresence is true. Setting it to false would turn off the built-in screen event, which tells when you're on the main menu or other enabled screens.[3]
  • enableUpdateDimensionPresence is true. Setting it to false would turn off the built-in join event, which tells when you join a world and change dimension.[3]
  • logState is false here, so the current state isn't logged. The comment on it says that when enabled, the mod logs the state being sent to Discord.[3]
  • buttons is an empty list, so no buttons are defined here.[3]
  • clientId is commented as "Your Discord App ID".[3]

Screens and dimensions

In screens, the pack uses the message key sdrp.mainmenu and the image key menu for the title screen, the multiplayer server list and the world selection screen.[3]

dimensionsSupport lists the Overworld, the Nether and the End. Each entry uses the dimension's name as the message and image name, and the dimension's path as the image key. Each entry also has prefixWithIn set to true.[3]

Image keys and lang keys

If you use your own Discord application, the project page lists the image keys logo, loading and menu. For dimensions, the key is the dimension's registry name path, such as overworld, the_nether or the_end.[1]

The message text comes from the lang key sdrp.<dimension path>.in, and the hover text comes from sdrp.<dimension path>. Per the project page, lang keys can be changed or added through data packs and mods like KubeJS.[1]

KubeJS integration

The project page lists the KubeJS functions SDRP.setState and SDRP.getCurrentState. SDRP.setState takes a message, an image name and an image key, and SDRP.getCurrentState returns the state the client is currently set to.[1]

Tip: The project page's example script listens for a Forge join-world event and calls SDRP.setState with the dimension path. That example comes from the mod's own page, and the sources here don't confirm it works unchanged in this pack version, so test it first.[1]

Which Simple Rich Discord Presence config options matter?

3 parts

This mod only controls what your Discord status shows while you play, so there isn't much to tweak. The pack ships its settings in a .json file and in a second file with a similar name, and they don't match on every value. Here is how each one is set.[3][4]

The options you're most likely to touch

  • enabled is true in the pack. Set it to false if you don't want Discord Rich Presence at all. enabled is also true in the .json file.[3][4]
  • logState is true in the .json file, but logState is false in the other file. When it's on, the mod logs the state it sends to Discord, which is handy if your status looks wrong.[3][4]
  • clientId and clientId hold the Discord App ID that the status is sent under. The files list different IDs. If you ever point this at your own Discord application, the image keys have to exist in that application.[1][3][4]
  • buttons adds a "Join us on Discord!" button and a "Download the FTB App" button to the status. In the other file, buttons is an empty list, so no buttons are defined there.[3][4]

Event toggles

In the .json file, screenEvent is true and clientJoinEvent is false. The screen event tells the mod when you're on the main menu, and the join event is for joining a world and changing dimension.[1][4]

The other file has matching switches under different names. enableUpdateScreenPresence and enableUpdateDimensionPresence are both true. Setting either one to false turns off that part of the status.[3]

Dimension and screen entries

dimensionsSupport has entries for the Overworld, the Nether and the End. Each one shows the dimension's name as the message and uses the dimension path as the image key.[3]

screens has a single main-menu entry using the menu image. It covers the title screen, the multiplayer screen and the world selection screen.[3]

Unverified The sources here don't say which of these files this version of the mod actually reads, and they don't list the mod's own default values. So it's unconfirmed which differences between the files take effect in game, and which values the pack changed from the mod default.

"From pack files" means the list came from the pack's own files; "from the published release" means ForgeBase read the jars of the release itself.

Items and blocks

We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as sdrp, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
