What is Pipez?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta guide
Pipez adds simple, highly configurable pipes that are built to cause as little lag as possible. If you're sick of laggy item transport on a big base, this is the mod for you. The pack includes Pipez 1.2.31+26.1.2 for NeoForge.[1][2]
What you get
- Item Pipes, Fluid Pipes and Energy Pipes for moving each of those around your base.[1]
- Gas Pipes, which are tied to Mekanism.[1]
- Universal Pipes, which combine all four pipe types in one. You pick which type to configure with the tabs on the left of the GUI.[1]
Who it's for
It suits anyone who wants flexible logistics without a heavy performance cost. Only extracting pipes have block entities, and pipes don't load unnecessary chunks. The project page also compares Pipez item pipes with Mekanism's logistical transporters. At about 7,200 pipes, Mekanism's connection calculation crashes with a stack overflow.[1]
The basics of setting up
Pipes don't transfer anything until one is set to extract. Sneak-click the end of a connected pipe with a wrench to set it to extract. Then click the extracting part to change modes, add filters or add upgrades. Sneak-clicking with a wrench also disconnects or reconnects a pipe.[1]
Pipes are relatively slow by default, and upgrades are the only way to speed them up. Higher upgrade tiers give a higher transfer rate. There are five tiers: Basic, Improved, Advanced, Ultimate and Infinity. Redstone modes need a Basic upgrade, distribution modes need Improved, and filter modes and filters need Advanced.[1]
Progression in this pack
Unverified The sources I have don't show where Pipez fits in the pack's progression. No quests or ATM Star path steps for it are documented, and neither is how the Infinity upgrade is obtained in this pack. The project page only says it is not craftable by default.
How do you get started with Pipez?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta guide
Pipez gives you simple, highly configurable pipes that are built to cause as little lag as possible. Here's the order I'd make things in, and why each step matters.[1]
Pipe Wrench first
Start with the Pipe Wrench. Pipes don't move anything until one is set to extract, and the wrench is how you do that: sneak-click the end of a connected pipe. The same sneak-click disconnects and reconnects pipes, and a plain click on a pipe configures it.[1][3][4]

Your first pipes
Next comes the pipe for the job. The Item Pipe moves items, the Fluid Pipe moves fluids and the Energy Pipe moves energy. Only the extracting pipes have block entities, which is why the mod stays so light on lag. The recipes are just below.[1][3]

Upgrades
Pipes are relatively slow by default, and upgrades are the way to speed them up. Higher upgrade tiers give a higher transfer rate. The first one to make is the Basic Pipe Upgrade, which also unlocks redstone modes.[1][3]

Filters and destinations
Once you have an Advanced upgrade, you can filter on item, fluid and gas pipes. If a filter should only apply to one destination, craft the Filter Destination Tool. Click the block your pipe inserts into to store its location and face, then put the tool into the destination slot of the filter GUI. This won't work if you click a side of the block that the pipe isn't connected to.[1][3][4]

Universal Pipe
When you're ready to simplify your builds, the Universal Pipe combines every other pipe type in one. Switch between the types you want to configure using the tabs on the left of its GUI.[1][3]

How does Pipez work?
10 parts
Pipez is built around one simple idea: a network of pipes does nothing until you tell part of it to pull from a block. Once you understand that, plus upgrades and filters, you understand the whole mod.[1]
Making a pipe actually move things
Pipez has item, fluid, energy and universal pipes, plus a gas pipe that is tied to Mekanism. You do all the setup with the Pipe Wrench. Its tooltip just says to click on a pipe to configure it.[1][5][6]
After that, click the extracting part of the pipe. That is where you change modes, add filters and add upgrades. Sneak-clicking a pipe with the wrench also disconnects or reconnects it.[1]

Upgrades and what they unlock
By default pipes are relatively slow, and you speed them up by adding an upgrade. Higher upgrade tiers mean a higher transfer rate. The Basic Pipe Upgrade, Improved Pipe Upgrade, Advanced Pipe Upgrade and Ultimate Pipe Upgrade are the four you can make in this pack. The mod also has an Infinity upgrade, but it is not craftable by default.[1][7][8]
Upgrades also unlock features, so you can't use everything from the start:[1]
- Basic Upgrade: redstone modes (ignore, on when powered, off when powered).[1]
- Improved Upgrade: distribution modes (round robin, nearest first, furthest first, random).[1]
- Advanced Upgrade: filter modes and filters.[1]
Transfer rates in this pack
The rates live in the server config. In this pack every value matches the mod default, so nothing has been changed from the original mod. Each pipe type has one value per upgrade tier, and the pipe tooltip shows the live rate. Energy and fluid pipes move their amount every tick. Item pipes move a set number of items every so many ticks, where a speed of 1 means every tick.[5][6]
Item Pipe
- No upgrade (item_pipe.amount.no_upgrade and item_pipe.speed.no_upgrade): 4 items every 20 ticks.[5][6]
- Basic (item_pipe.amount.basic and item_pipe.speed.basic): 8 items every 15 ticks.[5][6]
- Improved (item_pipe.amount.improved and item_pipe.speed.improved): 16 items every 10 ticks.[5][6]
- Advanced (item_pipe.amount.advanced and item_pipe.speed.advanced): 32 items every 5 ticks.[5][6]
- Ultimate (item_pipe.amount.ultimate and item_pipe.speed.ultimate): 64 items every tick.[5][6]
Fluid Pipe
- No upgrade (fluid_pipe.amount.no_upgrade): 50 mB per tick.[6]
- Basic (fluid_pipe.amount.basic): 100 mB per tick.[6]
- Improved (fluid_pipe.amount.improved): 500 mB per tick.[6]
- Advanced (fluid_pipe.amount.advanced): 2,000 mB per tick.[6]
- Ultimate (fluid_pipe.amount.ultimate): 10,000 mB per tick.[6]
Energy Pipe
- No upgrade (energy_pipe.amount.no_upgrade): 256 FE per tick.[6]
- Basic (energy_pipe.amount.basic): 1,024 FE per tick.[6]
- Improved (energy_pipe.amount.improved): 8,192 FE per tick.[6]
- Advanced (energy_pipe.amount.advanced): 32,768 FE per tick.[6]
- Ultimate (energy_pipe.amount.ultimate): 131,072 FE per tick.[6]
Gas Pipe
Gas pipes only exist if Mekanism is installed, and their config entries carry the same note. Their rates are in mB per tick.[1][6]
- No upgrade (gas_pipe.amount.no_upgrade): 200 mB per tick.[6]
- Basic (gas_pipe.amount.basic): 400 mB per tick.[6]
- Improved (gas_pipe.amount.improved): 2,000 mB per tick.[6]
- Advanced (gas_pipe.amount.advanced): 8,000 mB per tick.[6]
- Ultimate (gas_pipe.amount.ultimate): 40,000 mB per tick.[6]
Filters
Filters work with item, fluid and gas pipes, and you need an Advanced Upgrade or better to use them. You can use whitelisting or blacklisting, tag filtering, and several filters at once. To add a specific item, click it onto the slot in the filter screen, or type its ID in the text field next to it. Tags are written with a # prefix.[1][5]
If the item you inserted has NBT data, the NBT string shows up in a second text area. You can delete that text if you don't want to match NBT. There is also a button that restricts matching to the provided data, and an exact mode that only accepts items matching that tag exactly. Any single filter can be inverted with the paper button, which makes it apply to the opposite of what you entered (the destination is not inverted).[1][5]
Filter destinations
Each filter can also be limited to one destination. For that you need the Filter Destination Tool. Click the block your pipe inserts into to store its location and face, then put the tool in the destination slot of the filter screen. The destination block then shows in the filter list. It won't work if you click a side of the block that the pipe isn't connected to.[1][5]

How do you progress through Pipez?
3 parts
Pipez progression in this pack is all about crafting: you build the pipes first, grab a couple of tools, then work up through the upgrade tiers. The sources for this section only cover the recipes and the upgrade list, so this page sticks to those.[7][8]
Start with the pipes
Each transport type has its own pipe: Item Pipe for items, Fluid Pipe for fluids and Energy Pipe for energy. Every one of those recipes makes 16 pipes per craft.[7]

Which Pipez config options matter?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 0.51 guide
Pipez keeps its tuning in one file, the server config. Every pipe type has a transfer value for each upgrade tier, from no upgrade up to ultimate. If you want to know how fast your pipes really move things, this is where to look.[1][9]
Energy pipes
Energy pipes move a set amount of FE each tick. In this pack the values are 256 with no upgrade, then energy_pipe.amount.basic at 1,024, energy_pipe.amount.improved at 8,192, energy_pipe.amount.advanced at 32,768 and energy_pipe.amount.ultimate at 131,072. The no-upgrade value is energy_pipe.amount.no_upgrade.[9]
Fluid pipes
Fluid pipes are measured in mB per tick. This pack sets them as follows:[9]
- No upgrade: 50 mB (fluid_pipe.amount.no_upgrade)[9]
- Basic: 100 mB (fluid_pipe.amount.basic)[9]
- Improved: 500 mB (fluid_pipe.amount.improved)[9]
- Advanced: 2,000 mB (fluid_pipe.amount.advanced)[9]
- Ultimate: 10,000 mB (fluid_pipe.amount.ultimate)[9]
Gas pipes
Gas pipes also use mB per tick, and they only exist when Mekanism is installed. The pack values are 200 with no upgrade (gas_pipe.amount.no_upgrade), 400 for basic (gas_pipe.amount.basic), 2,000 for improved (gas_pipe.amount.improved), 8,000 for advanced (gas_pipe.amount.advanced) and 40,000 for ultimate (gas_pipe.amount.ultimate).[9]
Item pipes
Item pipes have two settings per tier. The amount is how many items move per transfer, and the speed is how often a transfer happens. A speed of 1 means every tick, so a lower speed number is faster.[9]
- No upgrade: 4 items, speed 20 (item_pipe.amount.no_upgrade, item_pipe.speed.no_upgrade)[9]
- Basic: 8 items, speed 15 (item_pipe.amount.basic, item_pipe.speed.basic)[9]
- Improved: 16 items, speed 10 (item_pipe.amount.improved, item_pipe.speed.improved)[9]
- Advanced: 32 items, speed 5 (item_pipe.amount.advanced, item_pipe.speed.advanced)[9]
- Ultimate: 64 items, speed 1, so every tick (item_pipe.amount.ultimate, item_pipe.speed.ultimate)[9]
Unverified The sources don't list the mod's default values, so I can't say which of these numbers the pack changed from the defaults. Treat all of them as the pack's own values.
