What is ElevatorMod?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
ElevatorMod is a simple port of the elevator from OpenBlocks to Minecraft 1.8 and newer. It gives you blocks that teleport you straight up or down between floors, with no stairs or ladders needed.[1]
The pack includes ElevatorMod 1.21.1-1.11.4 for NeoForge.[2]
How it works
Place two or more elevators at the same X and Z coordinates. Jump to go to the elevator above, or sneak to go to the one below.[1]
Right-click an elevator with an empty hand to open its options screen. From there you can turn on the Directional option, which sets the yaw rotation of players who teleport to that elevator. It also shows an arrow on the elevator, and you can hide the arrow with the Hide arrow checkbox. This only changes which way you face, not how you move.[1]
You can also camouflage an elevator by right-clicking it with a solid block. Most blocks work, but some, like a chest, don't because they use a different rendering method. Any elevator can be re-dyed too.[1]
Configuration
The config is per-world and lives at serverconfig/elevatorid-server.toml inside the world folder. The mod's own defaults give elevators a range of 384 (allowed values run from 3 to 4064), no XP cost, and no requirement for matching colors. If you turn on the XP option, the default cost is 1 XP point per teleport (points, not levels). The sources here don't show whether the pack changes any of these values, so treat them as the mod's defaults.[1]
How do you get started with ElevatorMod?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta guide
ElevatorMod is a simple port of the elevator from OpenBlocks. The whole idea is to stack elevators and move between them. Elevators come in a full range of dye colors.[1][3]
Craft your first elevators
Every color has its own crafting recipe in this pack, so start with whichever color you like. The White Elevator is shown here as an example. You need at least two elevators for anything to happen.[1][3]
Crafting Shaped
| White Wool | White Wool | White Wool |
| White Wool | Ender Pearl | White Wool |
| White Wool | White Wool | White Wool |
Recipe id: elevatorid:elevator_white
Example: the White Elevator. Every other color has its own recipe too.
Place and ride
- Place two or more elevators at the same X and Z coordinates, one above the other.[1]
- Jump to go to the elevator above.[1]
- Sneak to go to the elevator below.[1]
Re-dye instead of re-crafting
You can re-dye any elevator to change its color. This pack has a re-dye recipe for every color. Here is the one for the White Elevator.[1][3]
Crafting Shapeless
- any elevator
- any white dye
Recipe id: elevatorid:redye_white
Example: re-dyeing into a White Elevator.
Customize with the options screen
Right-click an elevator with an empty hand to open its options interface. From there you can enable the Directional checkbox. A directional elevator adjusts the yaw rotation of players who teleport to it, so you arrive facing the direction you picked. It also shows an arrow on the elevator, which you can hide with the Hide arrow checkbox. This only changes which way you face, not how you move horizontally.[1]
You can also camouflage an elevator by right-clicking it with a solid block in your hand. Most blocks work, but some, like a chest, don't because they use a different rendering method.[1]
Range and XP settings
The mod's config file is per-world and lives at serverconfig/elevatorid-server.toml inside your world folder. It lets you change the elevator range and whether teleporting costs XP. The mod's own defaults are a range of 384 (it accepts 3 to 4,064), no requirement for matching colors, and no XP cost. If you turn on the XP option, the amount is measured in XP points, not experience levels.[1]
How does ElevatorMod work?
6 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.10.0-beta guide
ElevatorMod is a simple port of the elevator from OpenBlocks. It is all about stacking elevator blocks and teleporting between them.[1]
Moving between elevators
Place two or more elevators on the same X and Z coordinates, at different heights. Jump to travel to the elevator above you, or sneak to travel to the one below.[1]
The elevators come in many colours, from White Elevator to Black Elevator, and they all share one elevator tag. Whether the colour has to match for a teleport is controlled by the sameColor option. The mod's own default is false, so out of the box the colours do not need to match.[1][4][5]
Crafting and re-dyeing
Each colour has its own shaped crafting recipe in the pack, and there is also a shapeless re-dye recipe for each colour. Here are the white elevator and its re-dye recipe as examples.[6]
Crafting Shaped
| White Wool | White Wool | White Wool |
| White Wool | Ender Pearl | White Wool |
| White Wool | White Wool | White Wool |
Recipe id: elevatorid:elevator_white
The shaped recipe for the white elevator.
Crafting Shapeless
- any elevator
- any white dye
Recipe id: elevatorid:redye_white
The shapeless recipe that turns an elevator into the white one.
The options screen
Right-click an elevator with an empty hand to open the Elevator Options screen. It has a Directional checkbox, a Hide arrow checkbox, buttons for N, E, S and W, and a Remove camouflage button.[1][7]
Directional elevators
With Directional enabled, the elevator adjusts the yaw rotation of any player who teleports to it, based on the direction you set. You choose the direction by clicking one of the direction buttons. Their display order matches the way you are currently facing.[1][7]
A directional elevator also shows an arrow pointing the way it faces. Tick Hide arrow if you do not want to see it. This only changes which way the player looks after teleporting. It has nothing to do with horizontal movement.[1][7]
Camouflage
Right-click an elevator with a solid block in your hand to camouflage it as that block. Most blocks work, but not all. A chest, for example, will not work because it uses a different rendering method. To undo it, press Remove camouflage in the options screen.[1][7]
Settings the mod offers
The mod stores its settings in a per-world file at <world-directory>/serverconfig/elevatorid-server.toml. These are the mod's own defaults, not confirmed values for this pack:[1]
- range: how far apart elevators can be, 384 by default, with an allowed range of 3 to 4,064.[1]
- sameColor: false by default, so elevators do not need matching colours.[1]
- precisionTarget: true by default, which realigns players to the centre of the elevator.[1]
- mobSpawn: false by default, so mobs cannot spawn on elevators.[1]
- resetPitchNormal is false and resetPitchDirectional is true by default. They control whether your pitch is reset to 0 when you teleport to normal or directional elevators.[1]
- useXP: false by default. When it is enabled, teleporting costs XPPointsAmount, which defaults to 1. That is experience points, not levels.[1]
How do you progress through ElevatorMod?
1 part
Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.10.0-beta guide
ElevatorMod is not set up as an upgrade ladder in this pack. The sources show one elevator block in many colours, so there is no basic-to-advanced path to climb. You pick the colour you like and craft it.[4][6]
The colours are White Elevator, Orange Elevator, Magenta Elevator, Light Blue Elevator, Yellow Elevator, Lime Elevator, Pink Elevator, Gray Elevator, Light Gray Elevator, Cyan Elevator, Purple Elevator, Blue Elevator, Brown Elevator, Green Elevator, Red Elevator and Black Elevator. The mod's block tag groups all of them together as elevators.[4][6]
How each colour is crafted
Every colour has a shaped crafting recipe and a shapeless recipe with a "redye" id, and both come from the mod itself. Red is shown below as an example, and the other colours follow the same pattern.[6]
Crafting Shaped
| Red Wool | Red Wool | Red Wool |
| Red Wool | Ender Pearl | Red Wool |
| Red Wool | Red Wool | Red Wool |
Recipe id: elevatorid:elevator_red
The shaped crafting recipe for the Red Elevator.
The shapeless redye recipe that also makes the Red Elevator.
The mod's loot table for the Black Elevator drops the same block you placed, so breaking one gets you the elevator back.[8]
Which ElevatorMod config options matter?
4 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
ElevatorMod has a small server config, and this pack leaves the important numbers at the mod's own defaults. Nothing here is a pack-specific tweak, so you can treat the mod's normal behavior as how it works in the pack.[1][9]
Range and activation
- General.range is the elevator range. The pack sets it to 384, which is the mod default. The allowed range is 3 to 4,064.[9]
- General.activationRange is the elevator activation range. The pack sets it to 6, which is the mod default. The allowed range is 1 to 64.[9]
XP cost
- General.useXP controls whether teleporting costs XP. In this pack it is false, so elevators are free to use.[9]
- General.XPPointsAmount only matters if you turn useXP on. It is set to 1, the mod default, and it counts XP points, not experience levels.[9]
Colors, targeting and mobs
- General.sameColor is false in this pack. Elevators do not need to share a color to teleport you between them, which matches the mod's default.[1][9]
- General.precisionTarget is true, so you are realigned to the center of the elevator when you arrive. This also matches the mod's default.[1][9]
- General.mobSpawn is false, so mobs cannot spawn on elevators.[9]
Camera pitch
- General.resetPitchDirectional is true. Your pitch is reset to 0 when you teleport to a directional elevator.[9]
- General.resetPitchNormal is false. Your pitch is left alone when you teleport to a normal elevator.[9]
Unverified The sources don't confirm the mod's own defaults for mobSpawn, resetPitchDirectional, resetPitchNormal, useXP or XPPointsAmount beyond what is noted above, so whether the pack changed any of those from the mod default is unverified.
What changed in ElevatorMod between versions?
1 part
The version of ElevatorMod in FTB Evolution 2 1.1.0 is 26.1-1.16.2. The pack ships it as the file elevatorid-neoforge-26.1-1.16.2.jar.[10]
The mod was already in the pack by FTB Evolution 2 1.0.2 or earlier, so it is not a new addition in 1.1.0.[10]
ElevatorMod 26.1-1.16.2
The changelog for this release lists one change: the port to Minecraft 26.1. It was built with NeoForge 26.1.0.8-beta.[11]
Unverified The sources here include no pack changelog entries for this mod, so any change to ElevatorMod made between pack releases is not shown. Check the pack's own changelogs for that.
