What is Macaw's Furniture?

1 part

Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta guide

Macaw's Furniture is a decoration mod: it adds wardrobes, drawers, chairs, desks, couches, chaise, sinks, tables and more, so your bases and houses can feel properly lived in.[1]

The mod is all about different furniture styles and customization. You can place pieces on top of each other to build different combinations, and merge them to make them wider or taller as much as you want.[1]

Furniture is not just for looks either. You can store your items in various types of furniture, or sit down on a chair and relax.[1]

In this pack

The pack ships Macaw's Furniture 3.4.2, and the mod has been part of the pack since version 0.0.1 or earlier.[2]

Unverified Where this pack's quest book places the mod (its chapter, group, and what comes before and after it) and whether the ATM Star path uses it are not shown by the sources here. That detail lives in the pack's quest book, so check there if you want to know.

How do you get started with Macaw's Furniture?

4 parts

Macaw's Furniture adds wardrobes, drawers, chairs, desks, tables and more. You can stack pieces on top of each other and merge them to make furniture wider or taller, so it's great for decorating your base.[1]

In this pack the furniture has its own crafting recipes, and they are written around the pack's wood items rather than generic ones. The recipes I can see cover acacia and birch, and each wood type has its own set of furniture. I can't confirm the other wood types from what I have, so check the recipe viewer for those.[3]

Start with the simple pieces

A good first craft is the Acacia Covered Desk, whose recipe uses only one type of item. It's a good test run to confirm the recipe works for you before you commit more logs.[3]

Next, make a seat. The Acacia Stool is one of the simplest, and the same pattern exists for birch with the Birch Stool.[3]

Build up through the tables

Tables build on each other, so make the Acacia Coffee Table first, even if you only want the bigger pieces such as the Acacia Table, the Acacia End Table or the Acacia Glass Table. The recipes below show the exact in-pack versions.[3]

Move on to storage

Wardrobes and drawers both depend on shared parts, Cabinet Door and Cabinet Drawer. The Acacia Wardrobe needs the door, and the Acacia Drawer needs the drawer part. Bookshelf variants like the Acacia Bookshelf Drawer also need a book.[3]

Upgrade into counters

Counters build on the storage pieces. The Acacia Drawer Counter is crafted from the drawer, and the Acacia Cupboard Counter is crafted from the wardrobe. That makes them a natural next step once your storage pieces are done.[3]

Tip: No quests in this pack involve this mod, so nothing here is gated or tracked. You can craft any of it whenever you have the materials.[3]

How does Macaw's Furniture work?

2 parts

Macaw's Furniture is a decoration mod, so this section is short. The sources describe it as a set of furniture styles you can customize: wardrobes, drawers, chairs, desks, couches, chaise, sinks, tables and more. They don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or automation for it.[1]

What the pieces can do

  • Stacking: you can place pieces on top of each other to build different combinations.[1]
  • Merging: pieces can be merged to make them wider or taller, as much as you want.[1]
  • Storage: you can store your stuff in various types of furniture.[1]
  • Seating: you can sit down on a chair and relax.[1]

How crafting works in the pack

In this pack the furniture is made with ordinary shaped crafting recipes. Several pieces use other furniture pieces as an ingredient, so counters and tables build on simpler furniture. The recipes below are in-pack acacia examples, so you see the exact crafting layout.[3]

How do you progress through Macaw's Furniture?

4 parts

Unverified The sources here show no quest in this pack's quest book that involves Macaw's Furniture, so the tiers below follow how the in-pack recipes depend on each other, not a quest chain.

The furniture recipes in the pack's recipe dump all use the mcw_tfc_furn namespace and are built around TFC wood types. The visible part of the dump covers oak, acacia and birch. Acacia and birch repeat the same set of pieces, so progression is about which piece you craft first, not which wood you pick.[3]

Basic pieces

This is where the chain starts. The entry-level pieces include the Oak Coffee Table, Oak Desk, Oak Counter, Oak Covered Desk, Oak Chair and Oak Bookshelf. Acacia and birch have the same pieces.[3]

The table chain

Tables step up from the coffee table. Craft in this order: Birch Coffee Table, then Birch Table, then Birch End Table and Birch Glass Table. Oak and acacia follow the same pattern. The recipes below show the exact in-pack versions.[3]

Storage furniture

Drawers, wardrobes and the bookshelf variants depend on the Cabinet Drawer and the Cabinet Door. Drawer-type pieces such as the Oak Drawer, Oak Large Drawer and Oak Lower Triple Drawer use the cabinet drawer. The Oak Double Wardrobe uses the cabinet door. The bookshelf variants, for example the Oak Bookshelf Drawer and Oak Cupboard Bookshelf, add a book to one of those components.[3]

Counters

Counters sit at the top of the chain: the Oak Drawer Counter, Oak Double Drawer Counter and Oak Cupboard Counter. Each one builds on a finished storage piece, so make those first. The recipes below show how.[3]

Tip: Get the Cabinet Drawer and Cabinet Door sorted early. The storage pieces use them directly, and the counters are built from those storage pieces, so you save a lot of backtracking.[3]

How does Macaw's Furniture work with other mods?

3 parts

In this pack, Macaw's Furniture connects to one other mod through its recipes: the tfc wood set. The furniture recipes use tfc logs, fences and slabs, so what you can build follows the tfc wood types you gather.[3]

Furniture recipes built on tfc wood

The furniture recipes in the pack use the mcw_tfc_furn recipe namespace and are marked as mod recipes. The Acacia Bookshelf is a good example, since it is made with an Acacia Log and a Book.[3]

Crafting Shaped

Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: mcw_tfc_furn:acacia_bookshelf

Chairs, tables and desks follow the same idea. The Birch Chair is crafted with tfc birch wood items, including the Birch Fence and Birch Slab, so the tfc plank variants are part of furniture crafting here.[3]

Cabinet Doors and Cabinet Drawers

Storage furniture such as wardrobes and drawers also needs a Macaw's Cabinet Door or Cabinet Drawer alongside the tfc log. The Birch Wardrobe and Birch Drawer both follow this pattern.[3]

Recipe id: mcw_tfc_furn:birch_wardrobe

The sources here do not show how the Cabinet Door and Cabinet Drawer themselves are crafted, so look them up in the recipe viewer in-game.[3]

Furniture for tfc-only woods

Some tfc woods get their own furniture items under the mcw_tfc_furn namespace instead of mcwfurnitures. Examples are the Ash Wardrobe and the Blackwood Drawer, which use the matching tfc log, such as Ash Log or Blackwood Log. Ash, Aspen, Blackwood and Chestnut all appear this way in the recipes.[3]

Tip: Not every wood gets every piece. In the recipes available here, Acacia and Birch have the full set including chairs, desks and tables, while the Ash, Aspen, Blackwood and Chestnut entries only cover drawers, wardrobes and bookshelf-style storage. The recipe list for Chestnut is cut short, so check the recipe viewer in-game for the rest.[3]

Unverified The sources here show no quests that involve Macaw's Furniture, so any connection to other mods through the pack's quest book is not confirmed.
