What is Simple Magnets?
2 parts
Simple Magnets adds magnets that pull items and experience toward you, so you stop chasing drops around your base. The pack includes version 1.1.12 of the mod.[1][2]
The mod's project page says magnets can be set to a whitelist or blacklist, and can go in Baubles or Curios slots. You can also toggle them with a key bind.[1]
What the mod adds
- Basic Magnet: picks up items and experience within a 5 block range of you.[1]
- Advanced Magnet: picks up items and experience with a configurable range, up to 11 blocks. Item range and experience range can be set separately, and items can be filtered with a whitelist or blacklist.[1]
- Demagnetization Coil: stops items from being attracted by magnets. Its effective area can be adjusted up to 3 blocks away.[1]
- Advanced Demagnetization Coil: does the same job with an area of up to 5 blocks, and it can filter items.[1]
Using them
To turn a magnet on or off, select it in your hotbar and right-click. To open the Advanced Magnet's GUI, shift-right-click with it. To filter items, click a filter slot with the item you want, then choose whitelist or blacklist and whether to match NBT data.[1]
The coils work differently. Look at a placed Demagnetization Coil with an empty hand and right-click it to open its GUI.[1]
How do you get started with Simple Magnets?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta guide
Simple Magnets is a small mod with one job: it pulls dropped items and experience toward you so you don't have to chase them. The order below is the one I'd follow in this pack, starting with the Basic Magnet and moving up.[1]
Step 1: Make a Basic Magnet
Start with the Basicmagnet. When it's activated, it picks up items and experience within 5 blocks of you. That's already a big quality-of-life upgrade for mining, mob farms and cleaning up after a big build.[1][3][4]

To switch it on or off, select the magnet in your hotbar and right-click with it. You can also toggle it with a key bind, and it works in Baubles or Curios slots, so it doesn't have to take up a hotbar slot.[1]
Step 2: Upgrade to the Advanced Magnet
Next, craft the Advancedmagnet. It reaches up to 11 blocks and lets you configure the range for items and experience separately. It also supports item filtering, so you only grab what you actually want.[1][3][4]

Shift-right-click with it selected in your hotbar to open its GUI. To set up a filter:[1]
- Open the Advanced Magnet's GUI.[1]
- Click one of the filter slots with the item you want to filter.[1]
- Switch the filter between whitelist and blacklist.[1]
- Choose whether the filter matches NBT data or not.[1]
Step 3: Add Demagnetization Coils if needed
Magnets can get annoying when you're sorting items on the ground or running a drop-based setup. That's where the coils come in. They stop items near them from being attracted by magnets. The Basic Demagnetization Coil can be adjusted to cover up to 3 blocks away.[1][3][4]

The Advanced Demagnetization Coil reaches up to 5 blocks and can filter items, so it only blocks the ones you choose.[1][3][4]

To open a coil's GUI, look at the placed coil with an empty hand and right-click it.[1]
Unverified The recipe dump for this pack lists these four recipes without item inputs, so use the recipe blocks above to see the exact ingredients. I couldn't confirm whether the pack changes the default magnet ranges, and no quests in this pack are known to involve the mod.
How does Simple Magnets work?
5 parts
Simple Magnets is a small mod: magnets pull in items and experience around you, and demagnetization coils stop magnets from attracting items in a nearby area. What you need to know is how the ranges, filters and controls work.[1]
The magnets
The Basicmagnet picks up items and experience within a 5 block range of you. It is a good pick when you just want loot to come to you.[1][4][5]
The Advancedmagnet has a configurable range, up to a maximum of 11 blocks. The range for items and the range for experience can be set separately. You can also filter which items it picks up with a whitelist or a blacklist.[1][4][5]
Magnets pick things up while they are activated. They can also sit in a Curios slot (see Curios API) instead of your hotbar, and they can be toggled with a key bind.[1][4]
Controls
- Turn a magnet on or off: select it in the hotbar and right-click with it.[1]
- Open the Advanced Magnet's GUI: select it in the hotbar and shift-right-click with it.[1]
- Open a demagnetization coil's GUI: look at the coil with an empty hand and right-click it.[1]
Filtering items
Filters are set up in the Advanced Magnet's GUI. Follow these steps:[1]
- Open the Advanced Magnet's GUI.[1]
- Click one of the filter slots with the item you want to filter.[1]
- Switch the filter to either whitelist or blacklist.[1]
- Choose whether the filter should match NBT data or not.[1]
Demagnetization coils
A coil is a placed block that prevents items near it from being attracted by magnets. The Basic Demagnetization Coil has an effective area you can adjust up to 3 blocks away.[1][4][6]
The Advanced Demagnetization Coil reaches up to 5 blocks away and lets you filter which items it affects. That makes it handy when you only want to protect certain drops.[1][4][7]
Both coils drop themselves as items when broken, subject to the usual explosion survival check.[6][7]

How do you progress through Simple Magnets?
3 parts
Simple Magnets keeps its progression simple in this pack: there is a basic tier and an advanced tier, and each tier has a magnet item and a demagnetization coil. The sources I have for this pack show the crafting recipes, but not what each tier does in numbers, so this section sticks to what you can craft.[5]
Basic tier
The entry level gives you the Basicmagnet and the Basic Demagnetization Coil. Both use a shaped crafting recipe from the mod itself, and the pack does not show a change to either.[5]

Advanced tier
The upgrade is the Advancedmagnet and the Advanced Demagnetization Coil. Like the basic tier, both use a shaped crafting recipe from the mod.[5]

Moving a placed coil
Both demagnetization coils are blocks, and each one drops itself when you break it. So if you place one in the wrong spot, you can break it and pick it up again.[6][7]
Which Simple Magnets config options matter?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.11 guide
The pack's Simple Magnets config values aren't something I can show you here, so this section sticks to what the mod's project page says about ranges and filters. Treat these as the mod's own figures, not confirmed pack settings.[1]
The Basic Magnet picks up items and experience within 5 blocks. The Advanced Magnet has a configurable range of up to 11 blocks, and you can set the item range and the experience range separately.[1]
The Demagnetization Coil can be adjusted up to 3 blocks away, and the Advanced Demagnetization Coil up to 5 blocks. The Advanced Demagnetization Coil can filter items. The Advanced Magnet can filter with a whitelist or blacklist, and you can choose whether it matches NBT data or not.[1]
Unverified Whether this pack changes any Simple Magnets values from the mod defaults, such as maximum ranges or other limits, could not be confirmed. No config files for this mod were available, so check the in-game GUI to see what you actually get.
What changed in Simple Magnets between versions?
1 part
The version of Simple Magnets in All the Mods 11 0.10.0-beta is 1.1.12, shipped as the NeoForge build simplemagnets-1.1.12-neoforge-mc26.1.jar.[2]
The mod has been in the pack for a long time. The pack's mod list shows it was first included in All the Mods 11 0.2.1 or earlier.[2]
Simple Magnets 1.1.12
The mod's own changelog files this release under the heading "Update to Minecraft 26.1". Its only entry is the initial release of Simple Magnets for Minecraft 1.21.11, so there is no list of gameplay changes to report for this version.[8]
