What is Simple Magnets?
2 parts
Simple Magnets adds magnets that pull in nearby items and experience, so you stop chasing drops around your base or a mining tunnel. It's a small quality-of-life mod, and it's great for anyone who is tired of picking up loot by hand. The pack ships version 1.1.12.[1][2]
What you get
- Basic Magnet: picks up items and experience within a 5 block range of you.[1]
- Advanced Magnet: picks up items and experience within a configurable range, up to 11 blocks. You can set the item range and the experience range separately, and filter items with a whitelist or blacklist.[1]
- Demagnetization Coil: stops items from being attracted by magnets. Its effective area can be adjusted up to 3 blocks away.[1]
- Advanced Demagnetization Coil: does the same job with an area of up to 5 blocks, and it can filter items.[1]
Magnets also work in Baubles or Curios slots, and you can toggle them with a key bind. Without the key bind, hold the magnet in your hotbar and right-click to switch it on or off.[1]
The coils are handy when you don't want a magnet grabbing items in a certain spot, for example around an item-based farm or sorting setup.[1]
Where it fits in the pack
Unverified The sources I have don't show any quests for Simple Magnets, and the mod is not on the ATM Star path. I also can't confirm how its recipes or config values compare with the mod's defaults in this pack, so check in-game before you rely on the ranges listed above.
How do you get started with Simple Magnets?
3 parts
Simple Magnets is a small mod with one job: it pulls dropped items and experience toward you so you don't have to chase them. The order below is the one I'd follow in this pack, starting with the Basic Magnet and moving up.[1]
Step 1: Make a Basic Magnet
Start with the Basicmagnet. When it's activated, it picks up items and experience within 5 blocks of you. That's already a big quality-of-life upgrade for mining, mob farms and cleaning up after a big build.[1][3][4]

To switch it on or off, select the magnet in your hotbar and right-click with it. You can also toggle it with a key bind, and it works in Baubles or Curios slots, so it doesn't have to take up a hotbar slot.[1]
Step 2: Upgrade to the Advanced Magnet
Next, craft the Advancedmagnet. It reaches up to 11 blocks and lets you configure the range for items and experience separately. It also supports item filtering, so you only grab what you actually want.[1][3][4]

Shift-right-click with it selected in your hotbar to open its GUI. To set up a filter:[1]
- Open the Advanced Magnet's GUI.[1]
- Click one of the filter slots with the item you want to filter.[1]
- Switch the filter between whitelist and blacklist.[1]
- Choose whether the filter matches NBT data or not.[1]
Step 3: Add Demagnetization Coils if needed
Magnets can get annoying when you're sorting items on the ground or running a drop-based setup. That's where the coils come in. They stop items near them from being attracted by magnets. The Basic Demagnetization Coil can be adjusted to cover up to 3 blocks away.[1][3][4]

The Advanced Demagnetization Coil reaches up to 5 blocks and can filter items, so it only blocks the ones you choose.[1][3][4]

To open a coil's GUI, look at the placed coil with an empty hand and right-click it.[1]
Unverified The recipe dump for this pack lists these four recipes without item inputs, so use the recipe blocks above to see the exact ingredients. I couldn't confirm whether the pack changes the default magnet ranges, and no quests in this pack are known to involve the mod.
How does Simple Magnets work?
5 parts
Simple Magnets is a small mod with no machines, multiblocks, power or fluids to manage. It has two kinds of item: magnets that pull items and experience toward you, and demagnetization coils that stop items from being pulled. Everything works by range, toggling and filters.[1][4]
Magnets
The Basicmagnet picks up items and experience within 5 blocks of you when it is activated. The Advancedmagnet does the same, but it has a configurable range of up to 11 blocks. You can set the item range and the experience range separately, and you can filter which items it picks up.[1][3][4]
Magnets also work in Baubles or Curios slots, so you don't have to hold one. You can toggle them with a key bind as well.[1]
Turning a magnet on and off
Filtering with the Advanced Magnet
Only the Advanced Magnet has a GUI. To open it, select the magnet in your hotbar and Shift-Right-Click with it.[1]
- Open the Advanced Magnet's GUI.[1]
- Click one of the filter slots while holding the item you want to filter.[1]
- Set the filter to whitelist or blacklist.[1]
- Choose whether the filter should match NBT data or not.[1]
Demagnetization coils
A coil is a block that stops magnets from attracting items near it. This is handy when you don't want a magnet pulling items off a farm or out of a build area.[1][4]
- The Basic Demagnetization Coil has an adjustable area of up to 3 blocks and has no item filter.[1][3][4]
- The Advanced Demagnetization Coil has an adjustable area of up to 5 blocks and lets you filter items.[1][3][4]
To open a coil's GUI, look at the coil with an empty hand and Right-Click it.[1]

How do you progress through Simple Magnets?
2 parts
Simple Magnets in this pack is split into a basic level and an advanced level. Each level has a magnet and a demagnetization coil: Basicmagnet and Basic Demagnetization Coil for basic, Advancedmagnet and Advanced Demagnetization Coil for advanced. Every one of them is a shaped crafting recipe.[3]
Basic
These are the basic magnet and the basic demagnetization coil. The recipe blocks below show exactly how the pack crafts them.[3]

Which Simple Magnets config options matter?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.11 guide
The pack's Simple Magnets config values aren't something I can show you here, so this section sticks to what the mod's project page says about ranges and filters. Treat these as the mod's own figures, not confirmed pack settings.[1]
The Basic Magnet picks up items and experience within 5 blocks. The Advanced Magnet has a configurable range of up to 11 blocks, and you can set the item range and the experience range separately.[1]
The Demagnetization Coil can be adjusted up to 3 blocks away, and the Advanced Demagnetization Coil up to 5 blocks. The Advanced Demagnetization Coil can filter items. The Advanced Magnet can filter with a whitelist or blacklist, and you can choose whether it matches NBT data or not.[1]
Unverified Whether this pack changes any Simple Magnets values from the mod defaults, such as maximum ranges or other limits, could not be confirmed. No config files for this mod were available, so check the in-game GUI to see what you actually get.
What changed in Simple Magnets between versions?
1 part
There isn't much history to dig through for Simple Magnets, so this section is short. All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta ships Simple Magnets 1.1.12, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 26.1. The mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 11 0.2.1 or earlier.[2]
Simple Magnets 1.1.12
- The mod's own changelog files this version under the heading "Update to Minecraft 26.1".[5]
- The only entry listed is "Initial release of Simple Magnets for Minecraft 1.21.11". The changelog gives no other details, so no specific gameplay changes are confirmed for this version.[5]
Unverified No pack changelog entries for Simple Magnets were available, so any changes the pack itself made to this mod across releases are unverified.
