What is Powah!?

2 parts

Powah! is a tech mod all about Energy: generating it, storing it and moving it around. If you want a straightforward, satisfying power setup that grows from a simple fuel burner into a self-building reactor, this is the mod for you. This pack ships Powah! 7.0.4-alpha.[1][2]

Making power

Powah! gives you several ways to generate FE, so you can pick whatever fits your base.[1]

  • Furnators, like Furnator (Starter), burn solid furnace fuel such as coal and wood.[3]
  • Magmators, like Magmator (Starter), run on high-temperature fluids like lava.[4]
  • Solar Panels generate energy when they are exposed to sunlight.[5]
  • Thermo Generators are another generator option.[1]
  • The Reactor is a multiblock generator that uses Uraninite as its main fuel. You hold 36 Reactor blocks and place them in a 3X4 area, and the reactor finishes building itself automatically.[6]

Most of these blocks come in tiers, from starter up through nitro. For example, you can start with Furnator (Starter) and work up to Furnator (Nitro). Higher tiers generate more FE/t and have a higher energy output. They also burn fuel faster, while getting the same energy per fuel tick.[3]

Moving and using power

Beyond generators, you get classic Energy Cables and Energy Cells, an upgradable Ender Network, and gadgets like the Charged Snowball.[1]

  • Energizing is the mod's own crafting system. The Energizing Orb needs no energy itself, but it needs at least one Energizing Rod, like Energizing Rod (Starter), within a 9X9 range. Those rods must sit on cables or another FE block. More rods and higher rod tiers make energizing faster.[7]
  • The Player Transmitter (Starter) charges items in a linked player's inventory, including armor slots and the off-hand. With a normal binding card it works anywhere in the same dimension. With a dimensional binding card it works across dimensions.[8]
  • The Energy Hopper (Starter) charges items inside an adjacent inventory, such as a chest.[9]
  • The Energy Discharger (Starter) drains FE out of charged items and stores it in an internal buffer. You can then pull that power out with cables and reuse it.[10]
Tip: Powah! has an in-game Manual covering generators, storage and transfer, functional blocks, items and materials. It's the best place to dig into each block.[1][11]

Unverified The sources don't cover exactly where Powah! sits in this pack's wider progression.

How do you get started with Powah!?

5 parts

Powah! is a tech mod about three things: generating, storing and moving energy (FE). Your early game is about getting a small generator running, wiring it up with cables, and then building an Energizing setup. That setup is the mod's own crafting system.[1][7]

Most Powah! blocks come in tiers: Starter, Basic, Hardened, Blazing, Niotic, Spirited and Nitro. You'll start at the bottom and work your way up.[7]

Step 1: Get some power going

You need FE before anything else, so pick a generator that fits what you have on hand. Higher tiers of each generator produce more FE/t.[3][5]

  • Furnator: burns solid furnace fuel like coal or wood. It's the easy pick if you already have a pile of fuel.[3]
  • Magmator: runs on high-temperature fluids like lava.[4]
  • Solar Panel: generates while it's exposed to sunlight. Any block that stops light above it will stop its production.[5]
  • Thermo Generator: sits on top of a hot block or fluid like lava and needs a coolant fluid like water to run.[12]

Unverified The crafting recipes for the generators aren't in the recipe list available for this section, so check them in your recipe viewer in-game. This site does hold All the Mods 11's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

Step 2: Run cables

Energy Cables move power from your generators to everything else. The Starter tier is the entry point. If you need to change which sides of a cable push or pull power, the Wrench's Config Mode changes cable I/O configuration.[1][13]

Step 3: Build your Energizing setup

This is where Powah! really opens up. The Energizing Orb energizes items, and it needs at least one Energizing Rod within a 9x9 range to work. The orb itself doesn't need energy. The rods must sit on cables or on any FE block, and they feed the power in.[7]

More rods and higher-tier rods mean faster energizing, so you can speed things up later by adding rods or upgrading them. Use the Wrench in Link Mode to link your orb and rods together.[7][13]

Energizing isn't only for progression materials. You can energize a snowball into a Charged Snowball, which spawns a lightning bolt where it lands. Energizing two pieces of blue ice gives you Dry Ice.[14][15]

Tip: This pack adds its own extra shapeless crafting recipes that output each tier of Energizing Rod, from Energizing Rod (Starter) all the way up to Energizing Rod (Nitro). Look for them in your recipe viewer.[16]

Pack-added recipe

Unverified What the pack-added Energizing Rod recipes are meant for isn't documented. The main Energizing Rod and Energizing Orb recipes also aren't in the recipe list available here.

Step 4: Grab a battery

A Battery charges items while it's in your inventory, which is handy once you have powered tools. Later on, you can also shift-click a Battery into an Ender Cell GUI to upgrade the capacity of an Ender Network channel.[17]

Looking ahead: the Reactor

Your long-term goal is the Reactor, a multiblock generator that uses Uraninite as its main fuel. To build it, hold 36 Reactor blocks and place them in a 3x4 replaceable area, and it builds itself automatically.[6]

Start collecting Uraninite Ore as you mine. You'll need an iron or better pickaxe. It's rare, found in 1 - 5 block deposits: poor ore below level 64, normal below 20 and dense below 0. Keep any Dry Ice you find below level 64 too, since it's mainly used to cool reactors.[15][18]

Tip: If you're into Mystical Agriculture, this pack has essence recipes for Uraninite, Energized Steel and the crystals, including Blazing Crystal and Nitro Crystal.[16]

How does Powah! work?

7 parts

Powah! is a tech mod built around Forge Energy (FE). It gives you several ways to generate, store and move energy. You get Furnators, Magmators, Solar Panels, Thermo Generators and the Reactor multiblock for power. For storage and transport there are Energy Cables and Energy Cells, plus the upgradable Ender Network, Player Transmitters and the Energizing crafting system.[1]

Most Powah! blocks come in tiers: Starter, Basic, Hardened, Blazing, Niotic, Spirited and Nitro. Each tier has its own energy capacity and max I/O rate. The in-game manual shows these values in a table on each block's page, so check there for exact numbers.[7][19][20]

Generating power

  • The Furnator burns solid furnace fuel like coal or wood. Higher tiers generate more FE/t and have a higher energy output. They also burn fuel faster, but you get the same energy per fuel tick.[3]
  • The Magmator runs on high-temperature fluids like lava. Just like the Furnator, higher tiers generate more FE/t and burn fuel faster, with the same energy per fuel tick.[4]
  • The Solar Panel generates energy when it's exposed to sunlight, and higher tiers generate more FE/t. Any block above the panel that stops light will stop its production.[5]
  • A Lens Of Ender applied to a Solar Panel lets the panel see through blocks. You make the lens by using a Photoelectric Pane on an Enderman or Endermite.[21][22]
  • The Thermo Generator produces energy when you place it on top of a high-temperature block or fluid like lava. It also needs a coolant fluid like water to run.[12]

The Reactor multiblock

The Reactor is a multiblock FE generator. Its main fuel is Uraninite. To build one, hold 36 Reactor blocks in your hand and place them in a 3x4 replaceable area. The reactor then completes building itself automatically.[6]

The Reactor has a generation mode that saves fuel. In this mode it stops when its energy buffer is full and starts again once it has less than 70% of its energy.[22]

Dry Ice is mainly used to cool down reactors. You can find it underground below level 64, or you can energize two pieces of blue ice to get it.[15]

Uraninite Ore is rare. The poor variant spawns below level 64, the normal one below 20 and the dense one below 0, in deposits of 1 to 5 blocks. You need an iron or better pickaxe to mine it. Each ore drops 1 piece of Raw Uraninite based on the ore type, and Fortune affects the amount.[18]

Moving and storing energy

Energy Cables transfer power between machines. To change a cable's transfer mode, right-click it with the Wrench in Config Mode.[13][19]

Basic tier cable

The Energy Cell is Powah!'s basic storage block for FE.[20]

The Energy Discharger drains FE out of charged items into an internal buffer. Connect it with cables and you can pull that stored power out and use it again.[10]

The Energy Hopper works the other way around. It charges chargeable items inside an adjacent inventory, such as a chest or any other block with an accessible inventory.[9]

The Ender Network

An Ender Cell stores FE in a specific channel of its owner's Ender Network. You can reach a channel's energy from anywhere in the world, as long as the Ender Cell you transfer through has an active channel with a valid capacity.[23]

To add capacity to a channel, shift-click a Battery or an Energy Cell into an Ender Cell's GUI. If the Battery or Cell holds energy, that energy is added to the channel too.[17][20]

Ender Gates move energy between the block next to them and the Ender Network. Unlike the Ender Cell, you can't upgrade the network from a Gate.[24]

Charging your gear

Batteries, such as Battery (Starter) up to Battery (Nitro), charge items while they sit in your inventory.[17]

The Player Transmitter charges items wirelessly in a linked player's inventory, including armor slots and the off-hand. With a normal Binding Card it works anywhere in the same dimension. With a Dimensional Binding Card it works across dimensions.[8][25][26]

  1. Craft a Binding Card and right-click it to bind it to yourself before you put it in the Player Transmitter.[22][25]
  2. For cross-dimension charging, use a Binding Card on an Enderman or Endermite to get the Dimensional version. It also needs to be bound with a right-click before you add it.[22][26]
  3. To craft the Player Transmitter itself, you need a Player Aerial Pearl. You get one by using an Aerial Pearl on a Zombie or Husk.[22][27]

Energizing

Energizing is Powah!'s crafting system. The Energizing Orb energizes items, and it needs at least one Energizing Rod within a 9x9 range to work. How fast it energizes depends on how many rods you have and on their tier's I/O rate.[7]

Watch out: The Energizing Orb itself doesn't need energy, but the rods do. Place each rod on a cable or on any Forge Energy block, or it won't contribute.[7]

The Wrench's Link Mode links linkable blocks like the Energizing Orb and its rods.[13]

Energizing gives you some fun extras. Energize a snowball and you get a Charged Snowball, which spawns a lightning bolt when it hits the ground or a mob. Energizing two pieces of blue ice gives you Dry Ice.[14][15]

This pack adds its own shapeless crafting recipe for every Energizing Rod tier, from Energizing Rod (Starter) up to Energizing Rod (Nitro).[16]

Unverified The recipe ids suggest these pack recipes clear a rod's stored data, such as its link, but the sources don't confirm what they actually do.

The Wrench

The Wrench has 3 modes. Config Mode changes cable I/O configuration, Link Mode links blocks like the Energizing Orb and rods, and Rotate Mode rotates blocks horizontally.[13]

How do you progress through Powah!?

5 parts

Powah! uses one tier ladder for nearly everything it adds. From lowest to highest, the tiers are Starter, Basic, Hardened, Blazing, Niotic, Spirited and Nitro. Every tiered machine in the in-game guide follows this order, so once you learn it you know where any Powah! block sits.[3][4][6][7][8][9][10]

In this pack, each tier has its own cables, batteries, Energizing Rods, Ender Cells and Ender Gates. From Hardened upward, most tiers also have Energy Cells and a matching capacitor.[16]

The tier ladder

  1. Starter: your entry point, with Energy Cable (Starter), Battery (Starter), Energizing Rod (Starter), Ender Cell (Starter) and Ender Gate (Starter).[16]
  2. Basic: adds the first capacitors. You get Basic Capacitor plus its Basic Capacitor (Tiny) and Basic Capacitor (Large) variants, along with Energy Cell (Basic), Energy Cable (Basic) and Battery (Basic).[16]
  3. Hardened: built around Hardened Capacitor, with gear such as Energy Cell (Hardened) and Energizing Rod (Hardened).[16]
  4. Blazing: the first crystal tier. It uses Blazing Crystal and Blazing Capacitor, with gear such as Battery (Blazing).[16]
  5. Niotic: uses Niotic Crystal and Niotic Capacitor, with gear such as Energy Cell (Niotic).[16]
  6. Spirited: uses Spirited Crystal and Spirited Capacitor, with gear such as Energizing Rod (Spirited).[16]
  7. Nitro: the top tier. It uses Nitro Crystal and Nitro Capacitor, with gear such as Battery (Nitro) and Energy Cell (Nitro).[16]

Getting started with energizing

The Energizing Orb is how you energize items. It needs at least one Energizing Rod within a 9x9 range to work. The orb itself doesn't take power, but the rods must sit on cables or on any Forge Energy block.[7]

Energizing speed depends on how many rods you use and on their tier, because higher-tier rods have a better I/O rate. Upgrading from Energizing Rod (Starter) toward Energizing Rod (Nitro) speeds up your crafting.[7]

What higher tiers get you

The Furnator, Magmator, Reactor, Energy Discharger, Energy Hopper and Player Transmitter all come in every tier from Starter to Nitro. Each step up changes the block's capacity and I/O.[3][4][6][8][9][10]

For the Furnator and Magmator, higher tiers generate more FE/t and have higher energy output. They also burn fuel faster while gaining the same energy per fuel tick.[3][4]

The Reactor is a multiblock generator that runs mainly on Uraninite. To build one, hold 36 Reactor blocks and place them in a 3x4 replaceable area, and the reactor finishes building itself.[6]

Unverified The exact capacity, generation and I/O numbers for each tier aren't included in the sources for this page. Check the tables in the in-game guide for the precise values.

Unverified The recipe data lists no item inputs for these Centrifuge recipes, so this section can't confirm which honeycomb or bee each one needs. Check the recipe viewer in-game for the exact input. This site does hold All the Mods 11's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

              Which Powah! config options matter?

Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide

Powah! runs on Cloth Config, so it has a config system that packs can tweak. For the in-game side of things, like how the generators, cables, cells and Energizing work, the mod's built-in Manual is the best place to look.[1]

Unverified This pack's Powah! config files weren't available, so this section can't confirm which options the pack changes or what values it uses. That includes generation rates, cable and cell capacities, and Reactor settings. Treat any numbers you see elsewhere as mod defaults that may not match this pack until they're confirmed.

What changed in Powah! between versions?

In All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta, the pack ships Powah! version 7.0.4-alpha, from the file Powah-7.0.4-alpha.jar. It was first included in All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta or an earlier release.[2]

Unverified There are no pack changelog entries for this mod and no stored changelogs for the shipped jar, so the changes to Powah! across the pack's releases (version bumps, balance tweaks or recipe changes) can't be confirmed yet. Check back once changelogs are available.
