What is Oritech?
2 parts
Oritech is an open-source tech mod built around animated machinery. You get processing machines, world-interaction machines, logistics parts, new world generation features, tools, armor and decorative blocks. Most machines are animated multiblocks, and you upgrade them with addon blocks.[1]
This pack ships Oritech 2.0.0-exp6.[2]
What you can build
- Multiple ore processing chains and variants.[1]
- The mod's project page lists automated farming machines, plus electric tools and armor, among its features.[1]
- Item, fluid and energy pipes. There is only 1 pipe tier for each type, and the pipes are generally pretty fast.[1]
- Drones that move items across vast distances, and lasers that mine blocks automatically.[1]
- Cybernetic player augmentation and particle accelerators.[1]
- Many ways to generate energy, from burning fossil fuels to running sustainable biofuel farms.[1]
Design ideas worth knowing
Oritech tries to give you more than one way to get things done, so you don't get stuck waiting on one rare item. Plastic is the example the mod itself uses: you can make it from farming items or from oil processing. The mod's own page admits this isn't always true yet in its test releases.[1]
It also aims for renewable resources. Fuel and items come from large automated farms, and the bedrock extractor gives you renewable metals late in the game. Naturally spawned resource nodes and oil wells are there to push you into building auxiliary bases and hauling the output back to a central hub.[1]
If you use EMI, Oritech works best with it, though JEI and REI are supported too. Its NeoForge builds also include compatibility with mods such as Create, Mekanism, Applied Energistics 2 and Immersive Engineering, so metals and components can be processed in Oritech machines and the other way round.[1]
Unverified The sources I have don't show Oritech on the ATM Star path, in any quests, or at a specific point in the pack's progression, so I can't say where it fits. There is also no in-jar guidebook to check.
How do you get started with Oritech?
3 parts
Oritech is a tech mod built around animated machines, and its advancement descriptions give a good hint for where to begin. Below is a sensible first stretch of machines, with the real in-pack recipes shown as recipe blocks. The order follows those advancements, so treat it as a suggestion.[1][3]
Your first steps
- Find some raw nickel. The first Oritech advancement tells you to start your technological adventure by acquiring it.[3]
- Make a Basic Generator. Its advancement is about generating some serious power with it, and machines need that power.[3][4]
- Make a Powered Furnace. Its advancement is about getting your hands on one, and it gives you an early machine to power.[3][4]
- Get an Assembler. Its advancement says to start putting things together with it.[3][4]
- Pick up a Centrifuge to separate the good from the bad, then an Atomic Forge to start crafting like a pro, as their advancements put it.[3][4]

Good to know early
Oritech is designed so that most things can be reached in more than one way. The mod aims to avoid roadblocks where you need one rare item to move forward, so if one route looks stuck, look for another.[1]
Machines are mostly animated multiblocks, and upgrades are done with addon blocks. The advancement for the Ultimate Machine Core mentions that it lets you add excessive addons. You can come back to cores and addons once your first machines are running.[1][3][4]
The mod works best with EMI, and it also includes JEI and REI compatibility. Use your recipe viewer to look up anything above. The mod also has an option to enable a help button in machine UIs.[1][3]
How does Oritech work?
3 parts
Most Oritech machines are animated multiblocks, and you upgrade them by attaching addon blocks. That's the core idea behind everything else in the mod, so keep it in mind as you build.[1]
Machine addons
This pack includes a whole family of addon items: Acceptor Addon, Burst Addon, Capacitor Addon, Efficiency Addon, Fluid Addon, Hunter Addon, Inventory Proxy Addon, Quarry Addon, Crop Filter Addon and Auxiliary Processing Chamber Addon. The pack also has an Addon Splicer, shown just below.[4]

Recipe id: oritech:addon_splicer
There's an advancement for getting an ultimate machine core, and its description says it lets you add excessive addons. So the highest-tier core seems to be about fitting more addons onto a machine.[3]

Power storage and logistics
Oritech has item, fluid and energy pipes, plus drones that carry items across long distances. For storing power, the pack has the Basic Battery and the Advanced Battery.[1][4]

Each pipe type has only one tier, and pipes are generally pretty fast. Pipe blocks only get a block entity where one is needed, for example when they connect to a machine. All networks are cached, and network updates are only sent when needed. A big pipe setup shouldn't hurt your performance much.[1]
World-interaction machines
The bedrock extractor must be placed on top of a resource node, and the recipe viewer says extraction from it is infinite. Resource nodes and oil wells spawn naturally. The mod wants you to build outpost bases and ship the output back to a central hub.[1][3]
Lasers mine blocks automatically. For the atomic forge, the recipe viewer says laser power determines charge time, and each recipe lists a required energy in RF. The particle accelerator side of the mod has guide rings (Particle Accelerator Guide Ring) and sensors (Particle Accelerator Sensor). Its recipes show a minimum collision energy in joules.[1][3][4]
The tainted refinery works differently. You create it by exploding a refinery near a soul-charged catalyst. Nearby arcane blocks increase energy efficiency, and sculk blocks increase the output multiplier.[3]
Unverified The sources don't say what each addon does, how much energy or fluid machines and pipes can handle, or how fast machines run in this pack. The pack's Oritech config files weren't available, so don't rely on any numbers until you've checked them in game.
How do you progress through Oritech?
3 parts
The clearest progression ladder the pack's recipes show for Oritech is the Machine Core family. Below you'll find that ladder, the materials around it, and the machines and gear that have in-pack recipes.[4]
Unverified The sources here show no quest chapter for Oritech, and no in-jar guidebook or reusable documentation turned up either. The order in which the pack's quest book would introduce these tiers is therefore not shown here, and neither is which machine needs which Machine Core.
The Machine Core ladder
The recipes include Machine Core items named Primitive, Basic, Advanced, Elite, Ultra and Ultimate: Primitive Machine Core, Basic Machine Core, Advanced Machine Core, Elite Machine Core, Ultra Machine Core and Ultimate Machine Core. Their recipes are shown below.[4]

Materials around the higher tiers
The pack adds shapeless ore hammer recipes that turn an ingot into dust for four Oritech materials: Adamant Dust, Biosteel Dust, Duratium Dust and Energite Dust.[4]
Oritech also has block recipes for Block of Adamant, Block of Biosteel and Block of Biomass, with shapeless recipes that turn them back into Adamant Ingot, Biosteel Ingot and Biomass. The adamant block recipe is shown below.[4]

There are also research stations, such as the Cybernetic Research Station and the Quantum Research Station. Machine upgrades come as addons, including the Speed Addon, the Efficiency Addon and the Synergy Matrix Addon.[4]
How does Oritech work with other mods?
1 part
The connection between Oritech and another mod that the pack's recipes confirm is with Productive Bees. Its bee conversion recipes take Oritech items as the input and give you Oritech-themed bees.[4]
Productive Bees bee conversions
Three of these conversions start from Oritech fluid buckets: Sheol Fire Bucket, Strange Matter Bucket and Sulfuric Acid Bucket. The remaining one starts from Plutonium Dust. The results are the Sheol Fire, Strange Matter, Sulfuric Acid and Uranite Crystal bees from the Oritech group in Productive Bees.[4]

What changed in Oritech between versions?
3 parts
All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta ships Oritech 2.0.0-exp6. The mod has been in the pack since 0.3.0-beta or earlier. Here are the notable changes across the 2.0.0 experimental builds, taken from the mod's own changelogs.[2]
2.0.0-exp1: the big rewrite
- The mod updated to 26.1.2 and is no longer multiplatform. It is now NeoForge only, and Architectury API is no longer required.[5]
- Everything was rewritten to use NeoForge-native events and methods where applicable, and all processing logic moved to the new transaction API.[5]
- Player Augmentations now use a custom datapack type and are no longer recipe driven.[5]
- The Schrodingers safe now uses NeoForge data maps instead of tags.[5]
2.0.0-exp2 to exp4: new blocks and recipe changes
- exp2 added the smart splitter block and JEI search aliases for some blocks. It also brought back compostables and dispenser place behaviour, and merged some changes from the 1.21.1 branch (reactor alarm thresholds, particle accelerator improvements and some bugfixes).[6]
- exp2 also fixed crafting recipes being in the wrong namespace, and a black hole crash in guideme scenes.[6]
- exp3 made drone port energy usage configurable, added an oracle index warning if the mod is not installed, and fixed refinery catalysts not being used.[7]
- exp3 and exp4 both fixed biomass recipes. exp3 also fixed multi-slot inputs (like the assembler) not always working.[7][8]
- exp4 added config options for different core levels and 3rd person rendering for the portable railgun.[8]
- exp4 also fixed the tree cutter only outputting into its first slot, solar panel output, and a Schroedings safe crash when outputting RF.[8]
2.0.0-exp5 and exp6: polish and fixes
- exp5 added a fluid tag to configure which fluids the pump treats as empty, and a custom JEI screen for the atomic forge.[9]
- exp5 removed the unneeded Oritech copper nugget.[9]
- exp5 now stores machine positions as relative positions and adds self-healing support. This should improve compact machines being moved.[9]
- exp5 fixed the arcane catalyst being limited to 550 souls, Oritech machines not working properly with custom data components, and the block destroyer not handling empty stacks correctly.[9]
- exp5 also fixed the aux addon potentially crashing on centrifuges on the last craft, and the wiki using old item and block IDs.[9]
- exp6, the build in this pack, fixed controller block state usage cycles on machine load and potential transform issues with the tainted refinery.[2][10]
