What is ElevatorMod?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
ElevatorMod is a simple port of the elevator from OpenBlocks to Minecraft 1.8 and newer. It gives you blocks that teleport you straight up or down between floors, with no stairs or ladders needed.[1]
The pack includes ElevatorMod 1.21.1-1.11.4 for NeoForge.[2]
How it works
Place two or more elevators at the same X and Z coordinates. Jump to go to the elevator above, or sneak to go to the one below.[1]
Right-click an elevator with an empty hand to open its options screen. From there you can turn on the Directional option, which sets the yaw rotation of players who teleport to that elevator. It also shows an arrow on the elevator, and you can hide the arrow with the Hide arrow checkbox. This only changes which way you face, not how you move.[1]
You can also camouflage an elevator by right-clicking it with a solid block. Most blocks work, but some, like a chest, don't because they use a different rendering method. Any elevator can be re-dyed too.[1]
Configuration
The config is per-world and lives at serverconfig/elevatorid-server.toml inside the world folder. The mod's own defaults give elevators a range of 384 (allowed values run from 3 to 4064), no XP cost, and no requirement for matching colors. If you turn on the XP option, the default cost is 1 XP point per teleport (points, not levels). The sources here don't show whether the pack changes any of these values, so treat them as the mod's defaults.[1]
How do you get started with ElevatorMod?
5 parts
ElevatorMod is a simple port of the elevator from OpenBlocks. The whole idea is to stack elevators and move between them. Elevators come in a full range of dye colors.[1][3]
Craft your first elevators
Every color has its own crafting recipe in this pack, so start with whichever color you like. The White Elevator is shown here as an example. You need at least two elevators for anything to happen.[1][3]
Crafting Shaped
| White Wool | White Wool | White Wool |
| White Wool | Ender Pearl | White Wool |
| White Wool | White Wool | White Wool |
Recipe id: elevatorid:elevator_white
Example: the White Elevator. Every other color has its own recipe too.
Place and ride
- Place two or more elevators at the same X and Z coordinates, one above the other.[1]
- Jump to go to the elevator above.[1]
- Sneak to go to the elevator below.[1]
Re-dye instead of re-crafting
You can re-dye any elevator to change its color. This pack has a re-dye recipe for every color. Here is the one for the White Elevator.[1][3]
Crafting Shapeless
- any elevator
- any white dye
Recipe id: elevatorid:redye_white
Example: re-dyeing into a White Elevator.
Customize with the options screen
Right-click an elevator with an empty hand to open its options interface. From there you can enable the Directional checkbox. A directional elevator adjusts the yaw rotation of players who teleport to it, so you arrive facing the direction you picked. It also shows an arrow on the elevator, which you can hide with the Hide arrow checkbox. This only changes which way you face, not how you move horizontally.[1]
You can also camouflage an elevator by right-clicking it with a solid block in your hand. Most blocks work, but some, like a chest, don't because they use a different rendering method.[1]
Range and XP settings
The mod's config file is per-world and lives at serverconfig/elevatorid-server.toml inside your world folder. It lets you change the elevator range and whether teleporting costs XP. The mod's own defaults are a range of 384 (it accepts 3 to 4,064), no requirement for matching colors, and no XP cost. If you turn on the XP option, the amount is measured in XP points, not experience levels.[1]
How does ElevatorMod work?
6 parts
ElevatorMod is a simple port of the OpenBlocks elevator to Minecraft 1.8+. It is vertical teleportation between elevator blocks, so there is not much machinery to learn. What matters is how you place elevators, the options screen, camouflage and the server config.[1]
Moving between elevators
Place two or more elevators at the same X and Z coordinates. To move between them, jump to go to the elevator above or sneak to go to the one below.[1]
Elevators come in many dye colors, from White Elevator to Black Elevator. Whether colors have to match for teleporting is controlled by the sameColor option in the config, covered below.[1][3]
Crafting and re-dyeing
In this pack every color has its own shaped crafting recipe, and every color can also be made with a shapeless re-dye recipe. Here is the white elevator and its re-dye recipe as an example.[3]
Crafting Shaped
| White Wool | White Wool | White Wool |
| White Wool | Ender Pearl | White Wool |
| White Wool | White Wool | White Wool |

Crafting Shapeless
- any elevator
- any white dye

Each color has a re-dye recipe like this one in this pack.
Options interface
Right-click an elevator with an empty hand to open its options interface. This is where you set the direction behavior.[1]
Directional
With the Directional checkbox enabled, the elevator adjusts the yaw rotation of players who teleport to it, based on the direction you configured. Click a direction button to change it. The buttons are laid out to match the way you are currently facing.[1]
The elevator also shows an arrow pointing in its direction, and you can hide it with the Hide arrow checkbox. This only changes which way the player faces. It has nothing to do with horizontal movement.[1]
Camouflage
To disguise an elevator, right-click it while holding the block you want. Any solid block works, and most blocks can be used. There are exceptions, though. A chest, for example, won't work because it uses a different rendering method.[1]
Configuration
The config is per-world and lives at serverconfig/elevatorid-server.toml inside the world directory. The mod's project page lists these defaults:[1]
- sameColor (default false): whether elevators must have the same color in order to teleport.[1]
- range (default 384, allowed range 3 to 4064): the elevator range.[1]
- precisionTarget (default true): realigns players to the center of the elevator.[1]
- mobSpawn (default false): whether mobs can spawn on elevators.[1]
- resetPitchNormal (default false) and resetPitchDirectional (default true): whether pitch is reset to 0 when teleporting to normal or directional elevators.[1]
- useXP (default false): whether teleporting requires XP.[1]
- XPPointsAmount (default 1): how many XP points are used when useXP is enabled. This is experience points, not levels.[1]
Unverified These are the mod's own defaults. The sources here include no config file for this mod in the pack, so the pack's actual values (range, color matching, XP cost and so on) are not shown. Check the file in your own world if you need exact numbers.
How do you progress through ElevatorMod?
The recipe data for this mod shows no tiers or upgrade steps. It only shows elevators in different colors, such as White Elevator, Red Elevator and Black Elevator, so I won't invent a progression ladder.[3]
Each color has a shaped crafting recipe and a shapeless "redye" recipe that also produces that colored elevator. Here is one of each so you can see exactly what the pack uses.[3]
Crafting Shaped
| White Wool | White Wool | White Wool |
| White Wool | Ender Pearl | White Wool |
| White Wool | White Wool | White Wool |

This is the shaped crafting recipe for the White Elevator.
This is the shapeless redye recipe that makes the Red Elevator.
What changed in ElevatorMod between versions?
1 part
ElevatorMod has been in All the Mods 11 from the start: the mod list shows it first included in 0.0.1 or earlier. That makes the history short and easy to follow.[4]
All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta ships ElevatorMod 26.1-1.16.2, using the file elevatorid-neoforge-26.1-1.16.2.jar.[4]
ElevatorMod 26.1-1.16.2
The mod's own changelog for this release lists a port to 26.1, built with NeoForge 26.1.0.8-beta. No other changes are listed for it.[5]
Unverified Any changes the pack itself made to this mod across releases would be told in the pack's own changelogs. The sources here show no pack changelog entries for it, so pack-specific changes are unverified.
