What is Apotheosis?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.14 guide
Apotheosis is all about making you stronger than ever before while still feeling true to vanilla Minecraft at heart. This pack runs version 8.4.0. The Apotheosis mod itself is the adventure module: it adds Affixes, Gems, World Tiers and everything else you need for RPG-style gear progression, without it taking over the game.[1][2]
Apotheosis is part of a family of mods, and it requires the other three to run. Apothic Attributes adds the new attributes and potion effects. Apothic Spawners lets you pick up and modify mob spawners. Apothic Enchanting fully overhauls the enchanting system.[1]
What you'll be doing
- Hunting affix items: any item, from vanilla or other mods, can roll affixes. Its rarity, from Common up to Mythic, decides how many bonuses it gets and how strong they are.[1][3]
- Breaking loot down at the Salvaging Table into Rarity Materials, then spending them at the Reforging Table to make your own affix items.[1][4][5]
- Socketing Gems into your gear for extra bonuses. Each gem gives different bonuses depending on the type of item it goes into.[1][6]
- Climbing the five World Tiers, from Haven to Pinnacle. Higher tiers give you better loot and some direct bonuses, but every enemy in your world gets stronger too.[1][7]
- Fighting Apothic Invaders, which start appearing from the Frontier tier. Each one carries an affix item and always drops it when you kill it.[1]
Where it fits in your progression
Apotheosis is with you from the very start. Affix items show up in loot chests and on mobs, and your World Tier decides how rare they are. The Simple Reforging Table handles items up to Rare rarity. To reforge Epic items or higher, you upgrade it into a full Reforging Table. The Summit tier only opens up after you've slain the Wither.[1][5]
At the very end sits the Augmenting Table, where you upgrade or reroll individual affixes. It costs a lot of experience and uses Sigils of Enhancement as fuel, so it's the place to perfect your build once you have near-endless resources.[1][8]
Unverified The sources don't show whether this pack changes reforging costs or World Tier unlock requirements. Modpacks are able to change both, so check in game.
How do you get started with Apotheosis?
6 parts
Apotheosis is built around loot you find, break down and rebuild. Your first steps are all about getting that loop running: find affix items, craft a few stations, and turn what you find into materials you can spend.[1][10]
First: find your first affix item
Affix Items are items with bonuses on them. You'll find them in loot chests and as drops from random mobs in your world. Finding your first one also unlocks the Haven world tier, which is active by default. The rarity of what you find depends on your World Tier.[1][11][12]
You can open the World Tier select screen with CTRL+T. Tiers you unlock later don't switch on by themselves, so use the Activate button when you get one.[13][14]
Next: craft a Salvaging Table
The Salvaging Table should be the first station you make. It breaks affix items down into Rarity Materials, which are the currency for most of what comes next. Each rarity gives its own material, from Mysterious Scrap Metal for common items up to Godforged Pearl for mythic ones.[1][15][16]

Then: turn gems into Gem Dust
Apothic Gems can be socketed into affix items for bonuses, and they can also be crushed into Gem Dust. Your first two dust come from crushing two gems with an anvil in the world. After that, the Salvaging Table does the job for you.[1][17][18]
Then: reforge with a Simple Reforging Table
Reforging gives an item brand new affixes, and it works on any valid item, not just ones that already have affixes. Start with the Simple Reforging Table, which handles items up to Rare rarity. You'll also need Sigil of Rebirth as fuel, plus the Rarity Materials for the rarity you want.[16][19]

The table offers three choices, and none is better than the others. The extra choice slots cost double and triple the base cost. Modpacks can change reforging costs or block certain rarities, and the sources I have don't show this pack's exact costs, so check them in-game.[19]
Finally: upgrade your gems
Once you have gems to spare, craft a Gem Cutting Table. Upgrading a gem usually costs Gem Dust, Rarity Materials and a second gem of the same purity. You can see the exact cost in JEI.[12][20]

Later on
- To reforge Epic items or higher, upgrade your Simple Reforging Table into a Reforging Table.[19]
- The Gem Case stores gems and can upgrade them directly, which effectively replaces the Gem Cutting Table.[21]
- The Augmenting Table is an end-game station that upgrades or rerolls single affixes using Sigil of Enhancement. It's best used on Mythic items, and possibly Epic ones.[22]
- If an item has no sockets, you can add one with Sigil of Socketing. To pull gems back out, use Sigil of Withdrawal in a smithing table.[1][23]
How does Apotheosis work?
8 parts
The systems in this section are crafting stations that run on special items such as sigils, Rarity Materials and Gem Dust, plus storage blocks and Infusion Enchanting. Here is how each one works in this pack.[12][24]
Salvaging Table
The Salvaging Table breaks Affix Items down into Rarity Materials. Which material you get depends on the rarity of the item you put in.[12][15]
- Common items give Mysterious Scrap Metal.[15][16]
- Rare items give Luminous Crystal Shard.[15][16]
- Epic items give Arcane Sands.[15][16]
- Mythic items give Godforged Pearl, which you can only get this way.[15][16]

The same table also salvages Gems into Gem Dust. Your very first dust has to come from crushing a gem with an anvil. Drop the gem in the world and let an anvil fall on it. After that, the Salvaging Table does the job.[12][18]
Reforging
Reforging gives an item brand new affixes, and it works on any valid item, not just ones that already have affixes. You can also reforge the same item more than once. The table has three input slots: the item goes in the center, Rarity Materials for the rarity you want go in the top-left, and Sigil of Rebirth go in the bottom-right.[16][19]
Like an Enchanting Table, you get three choices, and none is inherently stronger than the others. Every rarity has a base cost in experience, sigils and materials. The extra choices charge double and triple that base cost. Click the choice you want to reforge.[19]
The Simple Reforging Table only handles items up to Rare. For Epic and above you need to upgrade it into the Reforging Table.[19]

Augmenting Table
The Augmenting Table is an end-game station for working on a single affix without touching the rest of the item. The upper slot takes the affix item. It's best to use Mythic items, and Epic ones are worth considering. The lower slot takes Sigil of Enhancement as fuel. You then pick the affix from the drop-down menu.[22]
- Upgrade: costs two Sigils of Enhancement and raises the internal strength of the chosen affix by 25%. How much that helps depends on the affix.[22]
- Reroll: costs one Sigil of Enhancement and swaps the chosen affix for another of the same type. The alternatives are shown on the left.[22]

Gems: cutting, socketing and storage
The Gem Cutting Table upgrades Gems. An upgrade usually costs Gem Dust, Rarity Materials and a second Gem of the same purity. Higher purity needs more dust and higher-tier materials, and JEI shows the exact cost. A Perfect Gem can't be upgraded any further.[20][23]

To socket a gem, combine the item and the gem in a Smithing Table, with the item on the left and the gem on the right. Each gem lists the items it fits, and Unique gems can only be socketed once per item. Removing gems is costly. Sigil of Withdrawal removes all the socketed gems in a smithing table, and the item and gems are all returned. If an item has no sockets, Sigil of Socketing adds one.[1][12][23]
The Gem Case stores Gems. It holds up to thirty two thousand gems of each type and purity, and it can be upgraded to hold more. It has a name filter and an item filter, so you can search by gem name or by which item a gem fits. Its six auxiliary slots hold upgrade materials, so you can upgrade gems right inside the case when the materials and gems are present. That effectively makes the Gem Cutting Table obsolete.[21]

The Gem Case of House Fabergé has a storage capacity of two billion. You can't craft it directly. You make it with Infusion Enchanting.[16][21]

Recipe id: apotheosis:infusion/ender_gem_case
Infusion Enchanting
Infusion Enchanting is a crafting method that runs through the enchanting table. Each infusion recipe has a single item input and three stat requirements. Each requirement usually has a minimum and sometimes a maximum. Only the third slot is used, and you can over-spend experience. Place the item in the slot, and if your stats fit, the third slot lights up. Click it to perform the infusion.[24]
In this pack, God-Fused Pearl, Infused Spawner Rune and the Ender Gem Case above are all made by infusion recipes.[16]
Enchantment storage
The Enchantment Library stores enchantments as points when you insert enchanted books. Each library has a Level Capacity, and anything above it is voided. Click a stored enchantment to extract one level, or shift-click to extract the most levels you can. Books are generated in the output slot as needed. You can also put a book in the output slot to add enchantments to it. The library can only extract up to the highest level ever inserted for each enchantment.[25]
The standard library has a Level Capacity of sixteen (XVI). The Library of Alexandria has thirty-one (XXXI), and it can only be made through Infusion Enchanting.[25]
Spawner runes
The Spawner Module lets you move and modify Mob Spawners. The modifications come from runes, and each rune changes one behavior.[26]
- Rune of Control: the spawner only operates while powered by redstone.[12][16]
- Rune of Solitude: the spawner works without a player nearby.[12][16]
- Rune of Perpetual Twilight: ignores light level requirements.[12][16]
- Rune of Defiance: ignores all spawn rules.[12][16]
- Rune of Spawning Range: increases the area in which the spawner spawns mobs.[12][16]
- Rune of Echoes: spawned mobs drop additional copies of their loot.[12][16]
- Rune of Immolation: spawned mobs are wreathed in flame.[12][16]
- Rune of Stupor: spawned mobs lose their AI.[12][16]
- Rune of Silence: spawned mobs make no sound.[12][16]
- Rune of Youth: spawned mobs are babies.[12][16]
- Rune of Debilitation: reduces the starting health of spawned mobs.[12][16]
The upgrade runes come in four steps: Frontiersman's Spawner Upgrade Rune slightly improves a spawner and Wayfarer's Spawner Upgrade Rune improves it. Mountaineer's Spawner Upgrade Rune greatly improves it, and Thundering Spawner Upgrade Rune brings it to its maximum potential.[12][16]

How do you progress through Apotheosis?
6 parts
Apotheosis progression in this pack runs on two tracks at once: World Tiers, which scale the world and its loot, and Enchanting Table levels, which scale your enchanting. Gear rarity ties both together. Here is how each one works.[27][28][29]
World Tiers
A World Tier is a per-player strength modifier. It controls what content shows up, how tough enemies are and what bonuses you can get. There are five tiers: Haven, Frontier, Ascent, Summit and Pinnacle. Higher tiers make higher-rarity items and Invaders more common, and they also change which gems can spawn and with which purities.[29]
Tiers don't switch on by themselves. Once you unlock one, open the World Tier Select screen (CTRL+T by default), click the tier's symbol and press Activate. You can switch tiers whenever you like. In multiplayer, players can sit on different tiers, and most content uses the tier of the closest player. The Detailed Info button shows a tier's rarity and purity weights and its Tier Augments.[13]
Unlocking each tier
Tiers are unlocked by completing advancements. These are the default requirements from the in-game guide:[14]
- Haven: enabled by default, but you won't see it until you've picked up your first Affix Item.[14]
- Frontier: equip an Affix Item in every armor slot and hold an Affixed Weapon in either hand.[14]
- Ascent: equip a full set of Uncommon Affix Items, including a weapon, and slay an Apothic Invader.[14]
- Summit: acquire a full set of Rare Affix Items and have slain the Wither.[14]
- Pinnacle: obtain a full set of Epic items and slay the Ender Dragon.[14]
Unverified I couldn't confirm whether this pack changes any of the tier requirements above. I also found no quests tied to this mod, so the advancements tab is your guide here.
Affix Item rarity
Every Affix Item has a rarity, and a higher rarity is always stronger than the last. Common items always have one stat bonus. Uncommon items always have two stat bonuses and may get a socket. Rare items are where effect affixes begin, and they always have a slight durability bonus. Epic items add a possible fourth stat, a second effect and up to two sockets. Mythic sits above Epic, but the details I was given for it were cut off.[30]
Elites may drop Affix Items, so fighting them is one way to start climbing.[31]
Salvaging your loot
The Salvaging Table turns spare gear and gems into materials. In this pack, each rarity of Affix Item salvages into its own material: Common gives Mysterious Scrap Metal, Uncommon gives Timeworn Fabric, Rare gives Luminous Crystal Shard, Epic gives Arcane Sands and Mythic gives Godforged Pearl. Gems of every purity salvage into Gem Dust.[16]

Enchanting Table levels
The enchanting track climbs in steps, and each step asks for a different kind of shelf:[28]
- Level 30: the usual way, with fifteen bookshelves.[32]
- Level 45: add Hellshelves to your bookshelves, or use Seashelves instead if you'd rather avoid the Nether.[33]
- Level 60: learn Infusion Enchanting, then infuse and upgrade a few more of the shelf type you chose.[33]
- Level 70: needs a Level 60 table and Deepslate. Craft a Dormant Deepshelf and infuse it into a Deepshelf.[34]
- Level 75: upgrade your Deepshelves with materials from the Deep Dark. Echo Shards come from the Ancient City, and Sculk needs Silk Touch.[34]
- Level 80: slay the Warden to unlock Sculkshelves.[34]
- Level 90: needs a Level 80 table and Dragon's Breath, which you turn into Infused Dragon's Breath for Endshelves.[35]
- Level 100: the maximum. You need a Dragon Head from the outer End to make a Draconic Endshelf, which lifts a table from Level 90 to 100 but adds no other stats.[35]
End-game: the Augmenting Table
The Augmenting Table is the end-game crafting station. It upgrades or rerolls single affixes on an item and leaves the rest alone. You should typically augment items of at least Mythic rarity, though Epic ones are worth considering too. The fuel is Sigil of Enhancement.[22]
