Apothic Enchanting is a mod in All the Mods 11 0.12.0-beta, where it is version 2.1.0. A huge extension of the Enchanting system (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

Stuck? Why it might not be working

  • Apothic Enchanting: eterna stops short, and every slot says Limited Enchantability
Two separate things cap eterna in All the Mods 10 8.2: your World Tier sets a personal Max Eterna, and each enchanting shelf has its own eterna ceiling, so a wall of one shelf type stalls below 100 whatever your tier. "Limited Enchantability" is a different problem: it means the table had no enchantment to offer that slot, and it is not about the item's enchantability number.

  • Why arcana is not going up
In All the Mods 10 8.2, Apothic Enchanting 1.6.2, arcana has no ceiling of its own. A wall of vanilla bookshelves gives exactly 0. The item in the slot does not add any: that line was removed in 1.6.1, and this pack ships 1.6.2. A Brass Bookshelf config of 0.25 is a maximum of 25 on the 0 to 100 scale, not a multiplier. Arcana changes which enchantments you roll and how many are guaranteed. It does not raise the level.

What is Apothic Enchanting?

This pack ships Apothic Enchanting at version 2.0.0, using the file ApothicEnchanting-26.1.2-2.0.0.jar in the 0.10.0-beta release.[1]

It is not a recent addition: the pack's mod list shows it was first included in version 0.0.22 or earlier, so it has been part of the pack for a long time.[1]

How do you get started with Apothic Enchanting?

5 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta guide

Enchanting in this pack revolves around three stats you will see in the enchanting table screen: Eterna, Arcana and Quanta. Knowing what each one does makes every step below make sense.[2]

  • Eterna sets the max enchanting level. The screen shows your current value against a cap, and your Max Eterna attribute can clamp it lower.[2]
  • Arcana makes rare enchantments more common and increases the number of enchantments you get.[2]
  • Quanta increases the underlying randomness and lessens the negative effects.[2]

Step one: get an enchanting table

One of the mod's advancements asks you to obtain an enchanting table and begin to unveil the mystery. Start there before anything fancy.[2]

The Apothic Enchanting Table is only a cosmetic variant of the Enchanting Table, so you can skip it for now and craft it later if you like the look.[2][3]

This table is a cosmetic variant, so you do not need it to progress.

Step two: start building shelves

The pack has a whole family of shelves, including the Basic Bookshelf, Stoneshelf, Hellshelf and Seashelf. The Basic Bookshelf is the natural place to begin, and its recipe is shown below.[3]

Step three: take control with the Raven table

The Enchanting Table of the Raven allows you to manually customize the core enchanting stats. That is handy once you have shelves and want to tune the result instead of leaving it to chance.[2][3]

Step four: move on to advanced shelves

Several of the mod's advancements point at the next tier of shelves. You can activate a Dormant Deepshelf, and you can create a Sculkshelf using a Warden Tendril. For the Endshelf, the advancement asks you to acquire Infused Dragon's Breath and create the shelf.[2]

        Goals to aim for

The mod's advancements give you clear targets for how far your setup has come: enchant an item at level 30, then 60, 80 and finally 100. Others ask you to enchant at 50% or 100% Arcana, or at 0%, 50% or 100% Quanta.[2]

        How does Apothic Enchanting work?

        4 parts

In this pack, Apothic Enchanting is built around the enchanting table, the shelves you place around it, and a few special ways to craft or upgrade them. The pack also adds one multiblock machine that depends on the mod's shelves. This page covers what the sources here confirm about each of those.[2][4]

        Enchanting stats and tables

The mod tracks three stats called Eterna, Arcana and Quanta. Its advancements reward enchanting at 0%, 50% or 100% Quanta, at 50% or 100% Arcana, and at item levels 30, 60, 80 and 100. Others ask for 10 of each stat, for all stats at maximum, or for max stats together with Quantic Stability.[2]

There is a cap on Eterna: the mod describes it as the maximum amount of Eterna you can use in an Enchanting Table.[2]

The Apothic Enchanting Table is only a cosmetic variant of the Enchanting Table. If you want control over the numbers, the Enchanting Table of the Raven allows manually customizing the core enchanting stats.[2]

The Infused Seashelf also uses the infusion recipe type.

Several other items use the same infusion recipe type: the Ender Lead, the Occult Ender Lead, the Tome of Extraction and the Tome of Superior Scrapping. The three music discs use it too. The Library of Alexandria has its own infusion type, keep_nbt_infusion.[5]

              Recycling and splitting books

You can build an Altar of the Seas, which turns unwanted enchanted items into a new book. Another trick is to drop an anvil enchanted with Splitting onto an enchanted book, which splits the book apart.[2]

              The Runic Enchanter multiblock

The pack adds a Modern Industrialization multiblock called the Runic Enchanter. It has its own recipe type, runic_enchanter, with item inputs, item outputs and fluid inputs, and no fluid outputs. It is registered as an electric crafting multiblock in the runic_multis group, and its casing is darkstone.[4]

The structure mixes Forbidden and Arcanus blocks with shelves from this mod. The shelves in the shape are the Soul-Touched Deepshelf, the Soul-Touched Sculkshelf and the Echoing Sculkshelf. A vanilla enchanting table and soul lanterns are part of it too. This is why the later shelf tiers matter beyond plain enchanting.[4]

Hatches go in place of some of the polished darkstone casing blocks. The allowed hatch types are item input, item output, fluid input and energy input, so you feed it items, fluids and power through those hatches.[4]

Unverified The Runic Enchanter's actual recipes are defined in the pack's kubejs/server_scripts/modpack/runic_multis/recipes/runic_enchanter.js, and its controller setup is in controllers.js in the same folder. The sources here do not show what either file contains, so inputs, outputs, fluid amounts and energy costs are unconfirmed.

How do you progress through Apothic Enchanting?

              4 parts

I have to be upfront here: the pack's data gives me no stat tiers for this mod, and no quests that involve it, so I can't give you a ranked tier list. What I can show you is how each piece is made, and that already sorts the mod into a few clear groups.[5]

Start here: the table and the basic shelf

Everything begins with the Apothic Enchanting Table and the Basic Bookshelf. Both are made at a normal crafting table, and both drop themselves when you break them.[5][6][7]

The Basic Bookshelf, also a shaped crafting recipe.

There is also an Enchanting Table of the Raven. Its recipe id sits under the apotheosis namespace rather than the apothic_enchanting one, and it is a shaped crafting recipe too. Both Apotheosis and Apothic Enchanting are in the pack.[5]

              Shelves you craft by hand

Most of the shelves use plain shaped crafting. The recipe dump lists these ones that way:[5]

              Infusion recipes

Some items skip the crafting grid and use the mod's own infusion recipe type. In this pack that covers the Deepshelf, Infused Hellshelf, Infused Seashelf, Ender Lead and Occult Ender Lead. The three music discs (Music Disc, Music Disc and Music Disc) are infusion recipes as well.[5]

Infusion also makes 3 Infused Dragon's Breath per craft, 4 Tome of Extraction per craft and 4 Tome of Superior Scrapping per craft.[5]

The Library of Alexandria uses a variant recipe type called keep_nbt_infusion. The Enchantment Library itself is a normal shaped crafting recipe.[5]

Tomes and how many you get

Tomes are crafted in batches. Here is what one craft gives you:[5]

Tip: The recipe blocks on this page show the exact in-pack ingredients, so check them before you plan a build. The recipe dump I worked from only gave each recipe's type and output.[5]
