What is The Aether?
This pack includes The Aether, version 1.5.10, as the NeoForge build for Minecraft 1.21.1. It has been part of the pack for several updates, so it's a settled part of the lineup.[1]
Unverified What the mod adds, who it is best suited for, and how it fits into this pack's progression could not be confirmed from the available sources, so those details are left out of this overview for now.
How do you get started with The Aether?
4 parts
Welcome to the sky! This section covers the first things worth crafting once you start playing with The Aether in this pack. Each recipe card below shows the exact in-pack recipe, so you can see what this pack actually uses.[2]
Your first tools
Start with Skyroot gear. The Skyroot Axe is the first tool to make, and a Skyroot Bucket is also crafted from Skyroot materials.[2]

Once you're mining Holystone, upgrade to Holystone tools. Grab the Holystone Pickaxe first, then the Holystone Sword, Holystone Axe and Holystone Shovel as you need them. Holystone matters beyond tools too: the Altar, Freezer and Incubator recipes all use it, so keep a good stack.[2]

Light and a place to sleep
Make some Ambrosium Torch next. They light up your base, and you'll need them later for the Incubator.[2]

A Skyroot Bed is a nice early craft too. The mod even has an advancement for finally sleeping in the Aether.[2][3]

Your first workstations
The Altar needs Zanite, so it's your goal once you find a Zanite Gemstone. It's worth it: you use the Altar to obtain Enchanted Gravitite, which leads to the Gravitite gear.[2][3]
The Freezer works with Icestone. One of its uses is freezing accessories, which even earns you an advancement.[2][3]

Recipe id: aether:freezer
The Incubator builds on the Ambrosium Torch you made earlier, so craft it once your torches are sorted.[2]
Early accessories
The Aether adds an accessories button to your inventory and creative menus. Cheap first accessories to fill those slots include Leather Gloves, Iron Gloves and Golden Gloves.[2][3]

How does The Aether work?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
The sources for this mod cover a handful of utility blocks and a set of gameplay rules you can tune in the configs. They don't describe machine GUIs, processing, power or automation, so this section sticks to what they do show.[3]
Altar and Freezer
The utility blocks the sources mention are the Altar and the Freezer. The Altar is tied to an advancement where you use it to obtain Enchanted Gravitite. The Freezer is tied to an advancement where you use it with Icestone to freeze an accessory.[3]

Gameplay rules you can configure
A few options in the server config change how core mechanics behave. Here is what each one does.[3]
- Armor abilities can be made to depend on wearing the matching gloves from an armor set, which is why items like Gravitite Gloves matter.[3]
- Ambrosium Shard can be set to be edible, restoring a half heart of health.[3]
- The Hammer of Kingbdogz and the Cloud Staff each have an ability cooldown measured in ticks.[3]
- There is a cap on how many Life Shards a player can consume to raise their health, and the extra hearts can be drawn as silver.[3]
- Vanilla beds can be set to explode in the Aether.[3]
- On entering the Aether, players can be given a Book of Lore and Golden Parachute items as starting loot. On world creation they can also be given an Aether Portal Frame item to travel to the Aether.[3]
What the pack changes
The pack changes the crafting recipes for the Golden Pendant and the Golden Ring. Use these in-pack versions instead of what you may remember from the mod's defaults.[4]
Crafting Shaped
| any string | any string | any string |
| any string | Empty slot | any string |
| Empty slot | any gold ingot | Empty slot |
Recipe id: aether:golden_pendant
The pack also sets the accessories button position to 10 on the x-axis in [[config:config/aether-client.toml#Gui.Button x-coordinate in accessories menu]] and 28 on the x-axis in [[config:config/aether-client.toml#Gui.Button x-coordinate in inventory menus]]. These control where the Aether's accessories button sits in those menus.[5]
[[config:config/aether-common.toml#Gameplay.Show Patreon message]] is set to false, so the message linking the mod's Patreon doesn't show. [[config:config/aether-startup.toml#Gui.Enables random trivia]] is also false, so you won't see random trivia and tips at the bottom of loading screens.[3][6][7]
How do you progress through The Aether?
5 parts
Your Aether gear comes in four material families: Skyroot, Holystone, Zanite and Gravitite. In this pack the tool and armor recipes for all of them are the mod's own recipes, unchanged, so what you craft here matches the standard Aether versions.[2]
Skyroot: your first tools
Everything starts with Skyroot. Chop some Skyroot Log, turn it into Skyroot Planks and then Skyroot Stick. That gets you the full Skyroot set: Skyroot Pickaxe, Skyroot Axe, Skyroot Shovel, Skyroot Hoe and Skyroot Sword, plus the handy Skyroot Bucket.[2]

Holystone: the stone tier
Once you're mining Holystone, you can upgrade to the Holystone Pickaxe, Holystone Axe, Holystone Shovel, Holystone Hoe and Holystone Sword. Holystone also goes into your first utility blocks, the Freezer and the Incubator.[2]

Zanite: gems and the Altar
Zanite Gemstone opens up the Zanite gear. The pack has the Zanite Axe, Zanite Chestplate and Zanite Boots, and you can compress gems into a Block of Zanite. Zanite also goes into the Altar and the Nature Staff.[2]

Unverified The recipes for the other Zanite pieces, such as the pickaxe, sword, helmet and leggings, and what the Altar does in this pack could not be confirmed here.
Gravitite: the top set
Gravitite gives you the biggest lineup: Gravitite Pickaxe, Gravitite Axe, Gravitite Shovel, Gravitite Hoe and Gravitite Sword, plus a full armor set with Gravitite Helmet, Gravitite Chestplate, Gravitite Leggings, Gravitite Boots and even Gravitite Gloves. All of them need processed Gravitite rather than the raw material.[2]

How does The Aether work with other mods?
2 parts
Got a stack of Skyroot Slab from your trips to the Aether? The main way The Aether connects with other mods in this pack is through furniture. Skyroot Slabs are the wood for a whole set of colored Bibliocraft furniture pieces, so you can decorate your sky base with display cases and seating that match the Aether's pale wood.[2]
All of these recipes are marked as changed by the pack. Use the recipe blocks on this page instead of recipes you remember from other packs or mod pages, because they show the exact versions used in this pack.[2]
Skyroot furniture pieces
Each piece comes in several colors, and the wool you use sets the color. Here is the full lineup using the black versions as examples:[2]
- Black Skyroot Display Case lets you show off your loot. It also needs glass.[2]
- Black Skyroot Seat is the base seat.[2]
- Black Skyroot Small Seat Back, Black Skyroot Flat Seat Back and Black Skyroot Raised Seat Back are seat backs you craft directly from Skyroot Slabs and wool.[2]
- Black Skyroot Fancy Seat Back and Black Skyroot Tall Seat Back are upgrades of the Flat Seat Back of the same color.[2]

Colors
The Skyroot furniture recipes in this pack come in these wool colors: Black Wool, Blue Wool, Brown Wool, Cyan Wool, Gray Wool, Green Wool, Light Blue Wool, Light Gray Wool, Lime Wool and Magenta Wool. Each color has its own display case, seat and full set of seat backs, like Cyan Skyroot Display Case or Light Blue Skyroot Seat.[2]
Unverified The recipe data for this section only covers the colors listed above. It is not confirmed whether other colors of Skyroot furniture, or other Aether items, have recipes involving other mods in this pack.
No quests in this pack involve The Aether, so this furniture set is the integration to look out for.[2]
Which The Aether config options matter?
2 parts
The Aether doesn't need much config tweaking to play, but a few options change what you'll see on screen. Here's how this pack sets them, so you know what to expect and where to look if you want something different.[8][9][10]
Accessories button position
The Aether adds an accessories button to your inventory screens, and two client options control where it sits horizontally. This pack sets [[config:config/aether-client.toml#Gui.Button x-coordinate in inventory menus]] to 28, which positions the button in the inventory and accessories menus. It sets [[config:config/aether-client.toml#Gui.Button x-coordinate in accessories menu]] to 10, which positions the button in the accessories menu itself.[8]
Messages and loading screen extras
- [[config:config/aether-common.toml#Gameplay.Show Patreon message]] is set to false in this pack, so you won't get the message linking to The Aether mod's Patreon.[9]
- [[config:config/aether-startup.toml#Gui.Enables random trivia]] is set to false in this pack, so The Aether won't add its random trivia and tips to the bottom of loading screens.[10]
Unverified The mod's default values for these options aren't available here, so it can't be confirmed which of these settings the pack changed from the defaults.
What changed in The Aether between versions?
The Aether has been part of All the Mods 10 for a good while now. It first shows up in the pack changelog for All the Mods 10 4.6, which added it at version 1.5.9.[11]
- All the Mods 10 4.6: The Aether is added to the pack at version 1.5.9.[11]
- All the Mods 10 4.12: The Aether is updated from 1.5.9 to 1.5.10.[12]
- All the Mods 10 7.0: the pack still ships The Aether 1.5.10, so nothing has changed version-wise since that update.[1]
If you're playing All the Mods 10 7.0, you're running The Aether 1.5.10. That's the version this guide describes.[1]
Unverified There are no mod changelogs available for these versions, so I can't tell you exactly what the 1.5.9 to 1.5.10 update changed, such as bug fixes, balance tweaks or new content. Check the mod's own release notes if you need the details.
