What is Structurize?
Structurize is part of this pack's mod list. The pack ships version 1.0.758-1.21.1-snapshot, which is built for Minecraft 1.21.1.[1]
It isn't a new addition. It was already in the pack by version 0.57 or earlier, so it has been part of the modpack for a long time.[1]
Unverified I don't have a description of what Structurize does, who it's best suited for, or where it fits in the pack's progression. No quests, in-game guidebook or ATM Star path information were available for it, so I can't say more yet without guessing.
How do you get started with Structurize?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Structurize gives you a set of tools for placing and scanning blueprints, plus a few placeholder blocks. Every item below has a crafting recipe in this pack, so you can start right away. Here is the order I'd go in.[2]
Step one: the Build Tool
Start with the Build Tool. It's the tool the game refers to as the Buildtool when it positions a blueprint on the floor, and some blueprints, like Integrated Buildings or Mineshafts, are hidden from it. The pack uses the mod's own recipe for it.[2][3]

This is the mod's own recipe, not changed by the pack.
Once a preview is out, use the arrow buttons on the right (or your configured keys) to move it around. You can exit with Esc to reposition, then right click again to re-enter. If you place something you don't like, the list of recent operations lets you click the left arrow to undo and the right arrow to redo.[3]
Step two: the Scan Tool
Next, make the Scan Tool. The pack changed this recipe, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults. Its screen includes a placeholder filler function for the top parts of a schematic, which helps schematics fit more naturally into their environment.[2][3]

Step three: Shape Tool and Calipers
The Shape Tool also has a recipe changed by the pack. Its recipe id uses the minecolonies namespace, so look for that id if you search recipes. The Calipers uses the mod's own recipe.[2]

Step four: placeholder blocks
Last come three placeholder blocks: the Placeholder Block, the Solid Placeholder and the Fluid Placeholder. The pack changed the recipes for the Placeholder Block and the Solid Placeholder. The Fluid Placeholder uses the mod's own recipe.[2]

Unverified The sources here do not show exactly what the Shape Tool, the Calipers and the three placeholder blocks do in this pack. No in-game guidebook was found for the mod, and no quests in this pack involve it, so check these items in-game before relying on specific behavior.
How does Structurize work?
4 parts
Structurize works differently from a typical machine mod. The sources for this pack describe it as a set of building tools: placeholder blocks, a placement preview, and options for how a schematic gets placed. This section covers what those sources actually explain.[4][5]
Unverified The sources I have don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluid or item automation for Structurize, and the pack has no Structurize config files. I'm leaving those topics out rather than guessing.
Block placement patterns
Structurize has several placement iterators, which set the order in which blocks of a schematic get placed. These are their in-game descriptions:[4]
- Default: row by row block placement.[4]
- Hilbert: mathematical proximity based block placement.[4]
- Random: places blocks in the x/z plane in a random order.[4]
- Inward circle: placement in a circle, starting from the outside.[4]
- Inward circle height 1, 2, 3 and 4: placement in a circle, placing outer rows up to 1, 2, 3 or 4 higher respectively.[4]
Placeholder filler
The scan tool's interface has a placeholder filler function for the top parts of a schematic. Its purpose is to make schematics fit more naturally in their environment. It has four adjustable settings, and each one tells you whether it adds to the value or multiplies it.[4]
- Block distance: sets the minimum distance placeholders stay away from existing blocks. It is additive, for example 2.[4]
- Height offset: sets an offset to the y-limit that placeholders generate up to. It is additive, for example -1.[4]
- Radius: increases or decreases the size of the excluded center circle. It is multiplicative, for example 0.5.[4]
- Y stretch: increases or decreases the height of the excluded center circle. It is multiplicative, for example 1.5.[4]
Preview and undo
When you have a preview, use the arrow buttons on the right to move it around, or use the configured keys. You can also press Esc to exit and reposition, then right click again to re-enter.[4]
The undo/redo window lists your recent operations. Click the left arrow to undo one and the right arrow to redo it.[4]
Crafting the tools
Several Structurize items have recipes in this pack. The pack changed some of them, so don't assume the mod's defaults apply. The recipes below are the in-pack versions.[5]
The Build Tool (Build Tool) and the Calipers (Calipers) use the mod's own recipes.[5]

The Shape Tool (Shape Tool) recipe is also changed by the pack. It is registered under the minecolonies namespace.[5]

The placeholder blocks follow the same pattern. The Solid Placeholder (Solid Placeholder) and the Placeholder Block (Placeholder Block) recipes are changed by the pack. The Fluid Placeholder (Fluid Placeholder) uses the mod's own recipe.[5]

How do you progress through Structurize?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
In this pack, the recipe data shows Structurize items as plain shaped crafting recipes. Nothing in these sources links them into a step-by-step tier ladder, so I'll split the items by whether the pack changed their recipe.[2]
Unverified The sources here do not show any quest involving Structurize, or a place for it on the quest path. If you want to know whether the quest book mentions it, check the quest book in the pack itself.
Recipes the pack leaves at the mod's version
The Build Tool (Build Tool) uses the mod's own recipe, so the pack didn't touch it.[2]

The Calipers (Calipers) and the Fluid Placeholder (Fluid Placeholder) are also unchanged mod recipes.[2]

Recipes the pack changed
The pack changed the recipe for the Scan Tool (Scan Tool), so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults.[2]

The Shape Tool (Shape Tool) is also a pack-changed recipe. Its recipe id sits under the MineColonies namespace, not Structurize's, which is easy to miss if you search by namespace.[2]

How does Structurize work with other mods?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.12 guide
In this pack, Structurize connects to other mods through crafting. The Build Tool Build Tool is part of the recipe for MineColonies items, from hut blocks to the Clipboard and Quest Log. If you want to build a colony, you'll be crafting with the Build Tool a lot.[6]
Starting a colony
The Town Hall is the simplest recipe in the set. It's the Build Tool combined with one other basic material, and the pack leaves it as the mod's own recipe.[6]

Recipes the pack changed
Most of these recipes are the mod's own, but the pack changed several that include the Build Tool. Check the recipe viewer or the blocks below for the exact in-pack version, and don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults.[6]
- Compost Barrel[6]
- Barracks[6]
- Blacksmith's Hut[6]
- Crusher[6]
- Mechanic's Hut[6]
- Mystical Site[6]
- Plantation Field[6]
- Smeltery[6]
- Rack[6]
- Builder's Goggles[6]

Huts with more than one recipe
The Farm, Forester's Hut, Mine and Courier's Hut each have two recipes. Both versions use the Build Tool and make the same hut, and they differ only in the tool or armor piece they take.[6]
Other Build Tool recipes
The Build Tool is also used for colony utilities like the Clipboard, Quest Log, Resource Scroll and Colony Flag Banner. Storage blocks such as the Warehouse, Postbox and Stash use it as well.[6]
Unverified No quests in this pack involve Structurize, so there's no questline tying it to other mods. Whether the Build Tool is used up when you craft with it isn't confirmed here.
