What is Simple Magnets?
3 parts
Simple Magnets adds magnets that pull in items and experience around you, so you stop chasing drops across the floor. This pack includes version 1.1.11+b of the mod, and it has been in the pack since 0.32 or earlier.[1][2]
The magnets
- Basic Magnet: picks up items and experience within a 5 block range of you.[1]
- Advanced Magnet: the range is configurable, up to 11 blocks. You can set the item range and the experience range separately, and filter items with a whitelist or blacklist.[1]
Magnets also work in Baubles or Curios slots, and you can toggle them with a key bind. Without the key bind, hold the magnet in your hotbar and right-click to switch it on or off. Shift-right-click an Advanced Magnet to open its GUI, where the filter slots live. You can also choose whether the filter matches NBT data.[1]
The demagnetization coils
If you want some items to stay put, the mod has coils that stop magnets from attracting them. The Demagnetization Coil covers an area you can adjust up to 3 blocks away. The Advanced Demagnetization Coil goes up to 5 blocks and can filter items. Right-click a coil with an empty hand to open its GUI.[1]
Where it sits in the quest book
Unverified The sources here do not show any quest chapter, group or position for this mod in the pack's quest book, and they do not show it on the ATM Star path. Check the pack's own quest book if you want to see whether it is mentioned.
How do you get started with Simple Magnets?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.5 guide
Simple Magnets is all about not chasing drops around. Magnets pull in items and experience around you. The path is short: one magnet, one upgrade, and an optional way to stop magnets grabbing things you want left alone.[1]
Step 1: Make a Basic Magnet
Start with the Basicmagnet. It picks up items and experience within 5 blocks of you. The pack's quest book also has a quest in the tips_and_tricks chapter, a quest in "?", whose task is this magnet.[1][3]

To turn it on and off, select the magnet in your hotbar and right-click with it. The mod page also says magnets can go in Baubles or Curios slots and be toggled with a key bind.[1]
Step 2: Upgrade to the Advanced Magnet
Once you have spare resources, build the Advancedmagnet. Its recipe uses the Basic Magnet as an ingredient, and it reaches up to 11 blocks. You can set the range for items and for experience separately, and you can filter items.[1][4]

To open its GUI, select it in your hotbar and Shift-Right-Click. To set up a filter, follow these steps:[1]
- Open the Advanced Magnet's GUI.[1]
- Click a filter slot with the item you want to filter.[1]
- Switch the filter between whitelist and blacklist.[1]
- Choose whether the filter matches NBT data or not.[1]
Step 3 (optional): Demagnetization Coils
If a magnet keeps grabbing things you want to stay put, use a coil. The Basic Demagnetization Coil stops items from being attracted by magnets, and its area can be adjusted up to 3 blocks away.[1][5]

The Advanced Demagnetization Coil reaches up to 5 blocks and can filter items. Its recipe uses the basic coil as an ingredient.[1][4][5]

How does Simple Magnets work?
4 parts
Simple Magnets keeps things simple: there are no multiblocks, fluids or item pipes. The mod is about pulling dropped items and experience toward you, and about stopping that in areas where you don't want it. Here is how each piece works.[1]
Magnets
The Basicmagnet picks up items and experience within 5 blocks of you once it is switched on. It has no filter and no GUI.[1][5]
The Advancedmagnet does the same job with a configurable range that goes up to 11 blocks. You can set the range for items and the range for experience separately. It also has an item filter.[1][5]

Using a magnet
- To turn a magnet on or off, select it in your hotbar and right-click with it.[1]
- To open the Advanced Magnet's GUI, select it in your hotbar and Shift-Right-Click.[1]
Magnets also work from Baubles or Curios slots, and you can toggle them with a key bind. That means you don't have to keep a magnet in your hand or hotbar.[1]
Filtering items
Only the Advanced Magnet and the Advanced Demagnetization Coil have filters. The magnet's filter works like this:[1][5]
- Open the Advanced Magnet's GUI.[1]
- Click one of the filter slots with the item you want to filter.[1]
- Set the filter to either whitelist or blacklist.[1]
- Choose whether the filter should match NBT data or not.[1]
Demagnetization coils
Demagnetization coils are placed blocks that do the opposite of a magnet. Items inside a coil's area are not attracted by magnets. Use one to keep a farm, a storage room or a base entrance free of magnet pulls.[1][5]
The Basic Demagnetization Coil has an adjustable area of up to 3 blocks. The Advanced Demagnetization Coil reaches up to 5 blocks and can filter items, so you can protect only certain items from magnets.[1][5]

The Advanced Demagnetization Coil is an upgrade of the Basic Demagnetization Coil.
To open a coil's GUI, look at the coil with an empty hand and right-click it.[1]
Unverified The pack ships no config files for this mod. I couldn't confirm whether the pack changes any ranges, so the 5, 11, 3 and 5 block figures above come from the mod's own description and may not match the pack. Check them in-game. Power use and any redstone behavior of the coils are also unconfirmed.
How do you progress through Simple Magnets?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 1.26 guide
Simple Magnets has two tiers of magnet and two tiers of demagnetization coil in this pack. Each advanced item is crafted from its basic version, so you always build the basic one first.[6]
Tier 1: Basic Magnet
The Basicmagnet is your entry point. Its recipe is a mod recipe, with no pack-specific changes shown in the recipe dump. It uses common tag ingredients (redstone dust, ender pearls, lapis and iron ingots), so any mod's version of those items should work.[6]

| any iron ingot | any iron ingot | any lapi gems |
| any iron ingot | any ender pearl | Empty slot |

Tier 2: Advanced Magnet
The Advancedmagnet is the upgrade. Your finished Basicmagnet is one of the crafting ingredients, so don't use it up elsewhere. The recipe also asks for materials from further along than the basic tier, including an Eye of Ender and a diamond-tag gem.[6]

Demagnetization coils
The coils follow the same pattern. The Basic Demagnetization Coil is the first tier, and the Advanced Demagnetization Coil is crafted from it.[6]

Quests
Unverified No quests in this pack are known to involve Simple Magnets, so there is no quest-guided path for this mod. The recipes above are the progression order.
How does Simple Magnets work with other mods?
1 part
Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.5 guide
Simple Magnets has one recipe link to another mod in this pack, and it goes into Mekanism. The pack adds a custom shaped crafting recipe for the Module Magnetic Attraction Unit, and the Basicmagnet from Simple Magnets is one of its ingredients.[4]
Crafting Shaped

Added by the pack. The Basic Magnet from Simple Magnets is part of this shaped recipe.
Quests
The only quest in the sources that involves Simple Magnets is a quest in "?" in the tips_and_tricks chapter. Its task is the Basicmagnet. It only involves the Simple Magnets item, so it does not connect to another mod.[3]
Which Simple Magnets config options matter?
1 part
Here is what the Simple Magnets project page documents about ranges and settings. These are the mod's own described limits, not confirmed values for this pack, so treat them as the mod's behavior.[1]
- The Basic Magnet picks up items and experience within a 5 block range of the player.[1]
- The Advanced Magnet has a configurable range, up to a maximum of 11 blocks. The range for items and the range for experience can be set individually.[1]
- The Demagnetization Coil can be adjusted up to 3 blocks away. The Advanced Demagnetization Coil can be adjusted up to 5 blocks away and can filter items.[1]
Settings you change in the GUI
The Advanced Magnet's range and filter are set in its GUI. Select it in your hotbar and Shift-Right-Click to open it. Click a filter slot with the item you want, then switch the filter between whitelist and blacklist, and choose whether it matches NBT data or not.[1]
Unverified Whether this pack changed any Simple Magnets config values (such as maximum range) from the mod defaults is unverified, because no config files for the mod were available.
What changed in Simple Magnets between versions?
1 part
All the Mods 10 0.50 includes Simple Magnets 1.1.11+b. The mod was first included in the pack in 0.32 or earlier.[2]
Mod releases up to the pack version
- 1.1.11: the initial release of Simple Magnets for Minecraft 1.21.[7][8]
- 1.1.11a: fixed a crash on startup.[7][8]
- 1.1.11b: fixed magnets not going in Curios slots. This is the version the pack ships in 0.50.[2][7]
If you want to wear your magnets in Curios slots, that last fix is the one that matters to you, and it is already included in 0.50.[2][7]
