What is Refined Storage - Mekanism Integration?
Refined Storage - Mekanism Integration is an add-on that links Refined Storage and Mekanism. This pack ships version 1.0.0 of it, and it has been in the pack since version 2.43 or earlier.[1]
I can only confirm that much from the pack's files, so I'm keeping this overview short rather than guessing at features you might not find in your world.[1]
Unverified The sources don't confirm what the mod adds (items, blocks or mechanics), who it suits best, or where it fits in the pack's progression. They also don't show whether it is part of the ATM Star path, or whether any quests involve it. Check in-game before you plan a build around it.
How do you get started with Refined Storage - Mekanism Integration?
3 parts
This mod adds chemical storage to Refined Storage, so your Mekanism chemicals can live in your storage network. The goal is simple: build a Chemical Storage Disk and put it in your Disk Drive. The mod's own advancement asks for exactly that.[2]
The pack changed the part, disk and block recipes from the mod's defaults, so don't rely on what you remember from other packs. The recipe blocks below show the exact in-pack versions.[3]
Your first chemical disk
Everything starts with the 64B Chemical Storage Part. The pack changed this recipe.[3]

Next, turn the part into a 64B Chemical Storage Disk. The pack changed this recipe too.[3]

There is also an unchanged mod recipe that makes the same disk from the part and a Storage Housing.[3]

Once you have the disk, put it in your Disk Drive. That completes the mod's first advancement.[2]
Disk or block?
You can also make a storage block instead of a disk. The 64B Chemical Storage Block has its own recipe, which the pack changed as well.[3]

Upgrading to bigger tiers
The sizes run 64B, 256B, 1024B and 8192B. Each part is built from the part of the tier below it, so you climb one step at a time. The mod's help text says disks and blocks can be upgraded to a higher tier by combining them with a Chemical Storage Part.[2][3]
- Make the 256B Chemical Storage Part from your 64B part. The pack changed this recipe.[3]
- Make the 1024B Chemical Storage Part from the 256B part.[3]
- Make the 8192B Chemical Storage Part from the 1024B part.[3]

Each tier also has its own disk and block recipe. For example, you can make the 256B Chemical Storage Disk or the 256B Chemical Storage Block once you have the matching part.[3]
How does Refined Storage - Mekanism Integration work?
6 parts
This mod adds chemical storage to your Refined Storage network. The sources don't describe machines, multiblocks or piping, so this section covers what they do confirm: the storage disks and storage blocks, how you upgrade and recover them, and how they are crafted in this pack.[2]
Disks and blocks
You can craft a Chemical Storage Disk and put it in your Disk Drive. Or you can use a Chemical Storage Block instead. Each tier of disk and block is listed below, and both forms also have a Creative version that stores an infinite amount of buckets.[2]
- 64B tier: 64B Chemical Storage Disk and 64B Chemical Storage Block.[2]
- 256B tier: 256B Chemical Storage Disk and 256B Chemical Storage Block.[2]
- 1024B tier: 1024B Chemical Storage Disk and 1024B Chemical Storage Block.[2]
- 8192B tier: 8192B Chemical Storage Disk and 8192B Chemical Storage Block.[2]
Upgrading and recovering parts
Both disks and blocks can be upgraded to a higher tier by combining them with a Chemical Storage Part. The tooltips don't spell out the exact upgrade steps, so check the recipes below.[2]
You can also take them apart. An empty disk returns its Chemical Storage Part when you use it while holding it. An empty storage block returns the Chemical Storage Part and the Machine Casing the same way. The item has to be empty first, so clear it out before you try this.[2]
Crafting the parts
Everything starts with the storage part. In this pack the part recipes below were changed from the mod's defaults.[3]

Crafting disks
There are separate routes to a disk. The pack-changed recipe makes a disk straight from a part plus other materials. The mod's own shapeless recipe combines a Storage Housing with a part, and the pack has not changed it. Here is the 1024B tier as an example, and the other tiers have matching recipes.[3]

The mod's own recipe, unchanged by the pack. Handy if you already have a Storage Housing.
Crafting blocks
Each storage block recipe is also changed by the pack. It takes a Machine Casing and the matching storage part, which is why an empty block gives both back when you use it. Here is the 1024B block as an example.[2][3]

Power use
Each storage block tier has its own energy usage option, and the Creative block has one too. Only the option names and tooltips show up in the sources.[2]
Unverified The energy usage values for the chemical storage blocks are set in the mod's configuration, and the sources here do not show those values for this pack.
How do you progress through Refined Storage - Mekanism Integration?
5 parts
This mod adds chemical storage in the sizes 64B, 256B, 1024B and 8192B. Each size has a part, a disk and a block, and you climb the sizes in that order. The pack changed the part, disk and block recipes for every size, so don't rely on the mod's default recipes.[3]
Unverified The sources here show no quests involving this mod and no in-jar guidebook for it, so this section follows only the in-pack recipes.
The 64B tier
The 64B Chemical Storage Part is where everything starts. The pack's recipe for it doesn't need a lower-tier part, so you can craft it straight from basic materials.[3]
Crafting Shaped

| any glass blocks | any redstone dust | any glass blocks |
| any silicon | any glass blocks | any silicon |
Recipe id: refinedstorage_mekanism_integration:64b_chemical_storage_part
The 256B tier
The 256B Chemical Storage Part is built on top of the 64B part, so you can't skip the first step. Its recipe also uses a Refined Storage processor and a Mekanism alloy, which ties this step to your progress in both mods.[3]

| any osmium ingot | ||
Recipe id: refinedstorage_mekanism_integration:256b_chemical_storage_part
The 1024B tier
The 1024B Chemical Storage Part uses the 256B part as its base. It also asks for a different processor and a different Mekanism alloy than the previous step did.[3]

| any osmium ingot | ||
Recipe id: refinedstorage_mekanism_integration:1024b_chemical_storage_part
The 8192B tier
The top size is the 8192B Chemical Storage Part, crafted from the 1024B part. It steps up again to another processor and alloy, so it is the last link in the chain of parts.[3]

Turning parts into disks and blocks
Once you have a part, you can make a disk or a block from it. The pattern is the same at every size. The pack's disk recipe takes the matching part plus a few basic materials. The block recipe takes the matching part, a Machine Casing from Refined Storage and a few basic materials. Here is the 64B version of each as an example.[3]

The same shortcut exists for the 256B, 1024B and 8192B disks.
The finished disks are the 64B Chemical Storage Disk, 256B Chemical Storage Disk, 1024B Chemical Storage Disk and 8192B Chemical Storage Disk. The matching blocks are 64B Chemical Storage Block, 256B Chemical Storage Block, 1024B Chemical Storage Block and 8192B Chemical Storage Block.[3]
How does Refined Storage - Mekanism Integration work with other mods?
3 parts
This mod mostly connects with other mods through crafting. In this pack, its chemical storage parts, blocks and disks tie together Refined Storage, Mekanism and Extra Disks. Everything below comes from the pack's recipe data.[3]
Mekanism and Refined Storage in the part recipes
The pack changed the recipes for the chemical storage parts from 256B Chemical Storage Part up to 8192B Chemical Storage Part. Each step needs the part from the tier below. It also needs a Mekanism alloy, a Refined Storage processor and an osmium ingot (any ingot in the osmium tag works). The alloy and processor get better as the tier goes up.[3]

The 8192B step uses Atomic Alloy and an Advanced Processor. The next tier, 65536B Chemical Storage Part, comes from the Extra Disks mod. The pack changed that recipe too, so it needs the same Atomic Alloy, Advanced Processor and osmium ingot, plus the 8192B part.[3]

Blocks and disks
The pack also changed the chemical storage block recipes for the 64B, 256B, 1024B and 8192B tiers. Each one uses a Refined Storage Machine Casing and the matching part. It also uses redstone dust and an osmium ingot, so osmium shows up in every block.[3]

Disks are simpler, and the pack leaves them as the mod defines them. A shapeless recipe combines a Refined Storage Storage Housing with the matching part. This works for the 64B, 256B, 1024B and 8192B tiers.[3]

Extra Disks upgrades
Extra Disks adds chemical storage tiers above 8192B: 65536B, 262kB, 1048kB, 8388kB and an Infinite tier. These use upgrade recipes that are unchanged from the mod. An upgrade takes the new tier's part together with the lower-tier disks, or the lower-tier blocks if you are upgrading a block. For example, 65536B Chemical Storage Disk needs the 65536B part plus the 64B, 256B, 1024B and 8192B disks.[3]
