What is Laser Bridges & Doors?
2 parts
Laser Bridges & Doors adds laser source blocks that project futuristic-looking laser bridges, doors and fences when you power them with redstone. It's a small, focused mod for builders and redstone fans who want sci-fi walkways, force-field style doors or glowing fences in their base.[1]
All the Mods 10 7.3 ships version 5.3 of the mod, and it has been in the pack since version 2.25 or earlier.[2]
How the lasers work
- A laser only appears while its source block gets a redstone signal, and its length follows the signal strength, updating live as the signal changes.[1]
- You can color a laser source by clicking it with a dye, or have a dispenser apply the dye for you.[1]
- Full block laser sources are there for more complicated redstone contraptions.[1]
- A Laser Source Block and a Laser Fence Source Block can be converted into each other in the crafting grid, in either direction.[1]
Configuration
You can change the mod's settings in-game or in its config file. The max_length option sets how long a laser gets from a fully powered source, and shorter lengths are scaled from that value. The mod's default is 15 blocks. Another option lists which blocks lasers are allowed to replace.[1]
Unverified The sources don't confirm whether All the Mods 10 changes the maximum laser length or the crafting recipes. Check in-game before planning a long bridge.
How do you get started with Laser Bridges & Doors?
4 parts
Laser Bridges & Doors adds futuristic laser bridges, doors and fences that form when you power a laser source block with redstone. Getting started is simple: you craft one block, and the rest of the mod's features come from that block.[1]
First, craft a Laser Source
Your first item is the Laser Source. All the Mods 10 changes the mod's crafting recipe for it, so use the in-pack version rather than the one on the mod's own page. The pack also adds a second recipe for the same block that accepts any glass block, so you aren't locked into one specific type of glass.[3]

Next, power it with redstone
Place your Laser Source and give it a redstone signal. That activates it and forms the laser. The laser's length depends on the strength of the redstone signal and updates dynamically, so you can extend or shrink a bridge just by changing how much power you feed it.[1]
Switch to a fence if you need one
Want a laser fence instead? Put your Laser Source in the crafting grid on its own to turn it into a Laser Fence Source. The conversion works in both directions, so you can always switch back.[1][3]

Make it look good
To color a laser source block, click it while holding a dye. You can also apply the dye with a dispenser.[1]
Unverified The sources don't explain how the mod decides whether a powered source forms a bridge or a door, for example based on which way the block faces. They also don't confirm whether this pack changes the mod's maximum laser length setting. Test it in-game before you plan a big build around a specific length.
How does Laser Bridges & Doors work?
4 parts
Laser Bridges & Doors is built around one idea: a laser source block that projects a futuristic laser structure when you power it with redstone. Depending on the setup, that structure acts as a bridge, a door or a fence. There's no energy system or fluid handling to learn here. Redstone is what switches everything on.[1]
Powering a laser source
A Laser Source does nothing on its own. The laser only forms once the block gets a redstone signal. That means you can use any normal redstone input to control it, such as a lever, a button, a pressure plate or a whole circuit.[1]
The fun part is that the laser's length follows the signal strength, and it updates as the signal changes. A strong signal gives you a long beam and a weaker one gives a shorter beam. If you vary the signal, for example by adding distance along a redstone line or using a comparator setup, the bridge grows and shrinks on the fly.[1]
The mod also has full block laser sources for building more complicated redstone contraptions, so lasers can become part of bigger builds instead of just simple on/off doors.[1]
Maximum length and blocked paths
How far a fully powered laser reaches is set by the mod's max_length config option. Every partial length at lower signal strengths is calculated from that value. In the mod's own defaults, max_length is 15. The value this pack uses isn't confirmed, because the pack's config file for this mod wasn't available.[1]
A second option, blocks_cut_through_by_lasers, holds a list of blocks that lasers are allowed to replace. Blocks on that list won't stop a beam. The mod's config can be changed in-game or in its JSON file.[1]
Unverified The exact contents of the blocks_cut_through_by_lasers list in All the Mods 10 7.3, and whether the pack changed max_length, could not be confirmed. Test beam length and pass-through behaviour in your own world before you plan a build around specific numbers.
Coloring your lasers
You can color a laser source by clicking it with a dye in your hand. A dispenser can also apply dye to it, so you can recolor lasers automatically as part of a redstone build.[1]
Getting and converting laser sources
All the Mods 10 7.3 changed the mod's own recipe for the Laser Source, and it adds a second KubeJS recipe that makes the same block. The KubeJS version accepts any glass from the glass blocks tag. Both recipes are shown below with their exact in-pack ingredients, so ignore older crafting guides for this block.[3]

The Laser Fence Source is not crafted from scratch. You convert a regular Laser Source into it with a shapeless recipe, and you can convert it back the same way. You never lose a laser source by picking the wrong variant.[1][3]

How do you progress through Laser Bridges & Doors?
2 parts
There isn't a long tier ladder here. The mod adds two blocks, the Laser Source and the Laser Fence Source, and your progression starts with crafting a Laser Source.[3]
Step one: the Laser Source
The Laser Source is your entry point. This pack changed the mod's own shaped recipe for it, so check the recipe below for what the block costs in this pack.[3]

The pack also adds a second shaped recipe that makes the Laser Source. You can use whichever one fits the materials you have.[3]

What changed in Laser Bridges & Doors between versions?
1 part
Laser Bridges & Doors has been part of All the Mods 10 for a long time. It was first included in All the Mods 10 2.2 or earlier, and in All the Mods 10 7.3 you're running version 5.3, shipped as the file laserbridges-1.21.1-neoforge-5.3.jar.[2]
Updates across pack releases
- All the Mods 10 2.39: updated from 1.21.1-1-neoforge to 5.[4]
- All the Mods 10 4.15: updated from 5 to 5.3.[5]
- All the Mods 10 6.1: the changelog lists an update from 5.3 to 5.3, so the version number stayed the same.[6]
- All the Mods 10 6.2: the changelog again lists an update from 5.3 to 5.3, with no change to the version number.[7]
- All the Mods 10 7.3: still ships version 5.3.[2]
Since 4.15 the version number hasn't changed. The two 5.3 to 5.3 entries in 6.1 and 6.2 may just mean the file was re-uploaded or repackaged under the same version.[5][6][7]
Unverified The mod's own changelogs aren't available here, so it's unverified what actually changed in each update: new features, bug fixes, or changes to recipes and mechanics. It's also unverified whether the 5.3 to 5.3 updates in 6.1 and 6.2 changed anything in the mod itself.
