What is Laser Bridges & Doors?
1 part
Laser Bridges & Doors adds futuristic laser bridges, doors and fences to the pack. You place a laser source block and power it with a redstone signal. It then projects a laser platform or door out in front of it.[1]
The pack ships version 6.2 of the mod, and it has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 1.1 or earlier.[2]
What you can do with it
- The length of a laser depends on the redstone signal strength, and it updates dynamically as the signal changes.[1]
- You can color a laser source block by clicking it with a dye, or by using a dispenser to apply the dye.[1]
- Full block laser sources are meant for building more complicated redstone contraptions.[1]
- A Laser Source Block can be turned into a Laser Fence Source Block by putting it in the crafting grid, and the conversion works both ways.[1]
How do you get started with Laser Bridges & Doors?
4 parts
Laser Bridges & Doors adds laser sources that make laser bridges, platforms and doors when they get a redstone signal. The laser's length follows the signal strength and updates on the fly. So the first job is simple: craft a laser source, then give it power.[1]
Step 1: craft a Laser Source
Everything starts with the Laser Source. This pack adds its own recipes for it, so follow the recipe blocks below rather than the crafting layout on the mod's project page.[1][3][4]
Shaped (kubejs)
| any iron ingot | any glass blocks | any iron ingot |
| any iron ingot | any iron ingot | |
| any iron ingot | any iron ingot | any iron ingot |
Recipe id: kubejs:kjs/laserbridges_laser_source_block
This recipe gives you 2 Laser Sources per craft, so it is the one to use first.

A second pack recipe for the Laser Source, with specific glass and iron ingredients.
Step 2: pick bridge or fence
The Laser Fence Source is the fence version of the source. You can craft it directly, or turn a Laser Source into one.[3][4]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: deimos:deimosgeneratedcrafting1
Converts a Laser Source into a Laser Fence Source.
The conversion works both ways, so a wrong guess costs you nothing. Put a Laser Fence Source in the crafting grid to get a Laser Source back.[1][3]
Step 3: full block versions
The mod also has full block sources, which are meant for more complicated redstone contraptions. You craft the Laser Source Block from a Laser Source, and the Laser Fence Source Block from a Laser Fence Source.[1][3][4]

Step 4: power it and style it
Place a source and activate it with redstone. The beam appears when the block is powered, and a stronger signal makes a longer laser.[1]
Unverified The maximum laser length is set in the mod's config file, laserbridges.json. The sources here do not show whether this pack changed that value, so check the config in your own instance.
How does Laser Bridges & Doors work?
4 parts
Laser Bridges & Doors has no machines, fluids or item pipes to learn. Everything runs on redstone: you place a laser source, power it, and it projects a laser platform, door or fence. That keeps the mod simple, and it is also why it works so well in redstone contraptions.[1]
Powering a laser
A laser forms when a laser source block is activated by a redstone signal. The length of the beam depends on the signal strength, and it updates dynamically. If you change the signal, the laser grows or shrinks to match.[1]
The mod's config has a max_length option, the length of a laser from a fully powered source. Weaker signals give partial lengths calculated from that value. The mod's own default is 15, but this pack has no config file for the mod in the sources, so the pack's actual value is not confirmed here.[1]
The mod also has a blocks_cut_through_by_lasers option, a list of blocks that lasers can replace. Which blocks are on that list in this pack is not shown in the sources.[1]
Unverified The max_length value and the list of blocks lasers can cut through are set in config/laserbridges.json. The sources here do not show the values this pack uses.
The four source blocks
- Laser Source is the basic source that you power with redstone.[1][4]
- Laser Fence Source is the fence version of the source. You can convert between the two in the crafting grid.[1][3][4]
- Laser Source Block and Laser Fence Source Block are the full block versions. The mod describes full block laser sources as the ones to use for more complicated redstone contraptions.[1][4]
All four blocks drop themselves when broken. If an explosion destroys the block, it can be lost instead.[5][6][7][8]
Coloring
You can color a laser source block by clicking it with a dye in hand. A dispenser can apply the dye too, which is handy if you want to recolor sources from a redstone setup.[1]
Crafting and converting
The pack adds its own recipes for these blocks, so follow the ones below rather than the mod's default. The first one is a KubeJS recipe for the basic source.[3]
Shaped (kubejs)

The fence source can also be crafted directly from the same three ingredients.
Converting between the two kinds of source is a shapeless craft that works in both directions. You put in one and get the other.[1][3]

How do you progress through Laser Bridges & Doors?
3 parts
Good news: Laser Bridges & Doors has no power tiers to climb in this pack. What the recipes show is two pairs of blocks. There are the Laser Source and the Laser Fence Source, and each has a full block version: Laser Source Block and Laser Fence Source Block. All of the recipes below are added by the pack.[3]
Step 1: the basic sources
Everything starts with the Laser Source. The pack gives you a straightforward recipe that makes one.[3]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: deimos:deimosgeneratedcrafting0
Crafts one Laser Source.
There is also a second recipe that accepts any glass block and any iron ingot, and it makes two Laser Sources per craft. If you need a few sources, this is the cheaper way to get them.[3]

The Laser Fence Source has its own direct recipe too.[3]

Swapping between source types
If you crafted the wrong one, don't worry. A single Laser Source can be turned into a Laser Fence Source, and the reverse works as well, so you can change your mind later.[3]

Step 2: the full block versions

What changed in Laser Bridges & Doors between versions?
2 parts
All the Mods 10 8.3 ships Laser Bridges & Doors 6.2. The mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 1.1 or earlier, and here is how it got to where it is now.[2]
Pack releases
- All the Mods 10 2.39: the mod was updated from 1.21.1-1-neoforge to version 5.[9]
- All the Mods 10 4.15: updated from version 5 to 5.3.[10]
- All the Mods 10 8.0: updated from version 5.3 to version 6.[11]
What changed in the mod
- 1.21.1-1-neoforge: the mod was updated to 1.21.1 on NeoForge.[12]
- Version 5: added laser fences, animations and the ability to dye laser sources.[13]
- Version 5.3: added a missing translation for laser blocks and fixed coloring laser sources on newer versions.[14]
- Version 6: added full block laser sources.[15]
- Version 6.2: fixed data. The changelog gives no more detail than that.[16]
If you started on an older release, the jump to version 5 is the one you will notice most, since that is where the fences, animations and dyeing arrived. Full block laser sources came later with version 6, which the pack picked up in 8.0.[11][13][15]
