What is Jonn's Trophies?
Jonn's Trophies is part of the pack in this version, which ships it as version 1.21.1-3.0.0 (the file is trophymanager-1.21.1-3.0.0.jar). The mod's registry namespace is trophymanager, so that's what you'll see in item ids.[1]
It's not a new addition. The pack has included it since release 2.25 or earlier, so it has been there for a long time.[1]
Unverified The sources I have don't describe what the mod's features do, who it suits best, or where it fits in progression. There's no confirmed information on its items, recipes, configs or mechanics, so I'm not guessing at them. I also have no confirmed information on any quests or ATM Star path steps involving it.
How do you get started with Jonn's Trophies?
The only detail I can confirm for this mod is a JEI display with the text "Any item can go here". It suggests that one of the mod's JEI entries has a slot where any item is accepted.[2]
Unverified The sources here do not show any recipe that produces this mod's items, and they do not show any quest in this pack that involves the mod. Because of that, this section has no recipe blocks and no first-items order.
How does Jonn's Trophies work?
4 parts
Jonn's Trophies doesn't have machines, multiblocks, power or fluid handling in this pack, at least nothing the available sources describe. What the sources do cover is how trophies drop from kills and how they're displayed and edited, so that's what this section explains.[3]
How trophies drop
- Mob drops are switched on with General.dropFromMobs, and a normal mob killed by a player has a drop chance of 0.02 (set by General.dropChanceMobs).[3]
- Bosses are much more generous: General.dropChanceBoss is 0.2 when a player kills a boss entity.[3]
- Looting helps. General.applyLooting is true, so the Looting enchantment increases the drop chance.[3]
- Player trophies are off. General.dropFromPlayers is false and is marked work-in-progress in the config. The chance for a player killed by a player, General.dropChancePlayers, is set to 1.[3]
- Automated kills won't work for trophies. General.allowFakePlayer is false, so fake players (machines) don't get trophy drops. You'll need to make the kills yourself.[3]
How dropped trophies look
A trophy dropped from a mob uses a base block, a scale and a Y offset from the config. In this pack the base block is set by General.defaultBaseBlock to Smooth Stone Slab. The scale from General.defaultScale is 0.5, and the offset from General.defaultYOffset is also 0.5.[3]
The config comment says the Y offset should match the base block: 1.0 for a full block, 0.5 for slabs and 0.1 for carpets. If you ever change the base block, change the offset too, so the mob doesn't sink into the base or float above it.[3]
There are upper limits on what you can set by hand. General.maxSize caps the size multiplier at 20, and General.maxYOffset caps the Y offset at 2000.[3]
Editing and item trophies
Trophy settings aren't locked to operators here. General.allowNonOpEdit is true, so non-opped players can change a trophy's settings.[3]
Item trophies show an item that slowly rotates, controlled by General.rotateItemTrophies, which is true in this pack. The mod's own interface text says any item can go in an item trophy's slot.[2][3]
Mobs with variants
Some mobs look different depending on stored data, such as a cat's variant or a wolf's collar colour. General.nbtMap lists the entity tags that get saved with the trophy so the right look is kept. The pack's list covers vanilla mobs like axolotls, cats, wolves, frogs, llamas, horses, foxes, parrots, pandas, mooshrooms and villagers. It also includes entries for Productive Bees, with the configurable bee type, and for Infernal Expansion, with the shroomloin type and basalt giant size.[3]
Unverified The sources don't explain how to craft or obtain trophy items, or how the in-game editing screen works. No recipes for this mod's items were available, so check in game before relying on any of that.
Which Jonn's Trophies config options matter?
5 parts
Everything for Jonn's Trophies lives in one file, config/trophymanager-server.toml, and all the options sit under the General group. Here's how this pack sets the ones you're most likely to care about.[3]
Drops from mobs and bosses
- General.dropFromMobs is true, so trophies can drop from mobs that a player kills.[3]
- General.dropChanceMobs is 0.02 for normal entities killed by a player. The allowed range is 0.0 to 1.0, so this is a low chance.[3]
- General.dropChanceBoss is 0.2 for boss entities killed by a player, a noticeably better chance than for normal mobs.[3]
- General.applyLooting is true, so the Looting enchantment raises the drop chance.[3]
- General.allowFakePlayer is false, so machines (fake players) don't get trophy drops. You'll have to do the kills yourself.[3]
Player kills
General.dropFromPlayers is false, so killing another player won't give you a trophy. The config marks this feature as work in progress. General.dropChancePlayers is set to 1.[3]
Look and size of dropped trophies
- General.defaultBaseBlock is minecraft:smooth_stone_slab, the block used as the base for trophies dropped from mob kills.[3]
- General.defaultScale is 0.5, the default size of those dropped trophies.[3]
- General.defaultYOffset is 0.5. The config notes say this should be 1.0 for a full block, 0.5 for slabs and 0.1 for carpets. If you change the base block, change this too.[3]
- General.rotateItemTrophies is true, so items on item trophies slowly rotate.[3]
Editing and limits
- General.allowNonOpEdit is true, so players without op status can change a trophy's settings.[3]
- General.maxSize is 20, the maximum size multiplier for a trophy.[3]
- General.maxYOffset is 2,000, the maximum Y offset for a trophy.[3]
Saved entity variants
General.nbtMap is a comma separated list of entities whose NBT data must be saved with the trophy, in the format modid:entityid:tag. This is how a trophy keeps things like a cat's variant or a villager's data. The pack's list covers several vanilla animals and also includes entries from the productivebees and infernalexp namespaces.[3]
