What is Jonn's Trophies?

Jonn's Trophies is included in this pack at version 1.21.1-2.2.9, shipped as the file trophymanager-1.21.1-2.2.9.jar. It has been in the pack since version 2.36 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the mod list.[1]

Unverified I couldn't confirm what the mod does, who it is aimed at, or where it fits in the pack's progression. The sources I have only list the mod and its version. There's no description, no guidebook entry, and no recipe, config or quest data for it, so I'm not guessing at its features. The mod also isn't shown on the ATM Star path.

How do you get started with Jonn's Trophies?

3 parts

Jonn's Trophies is a small mod, and this pack gives you no crafting path into it. There is nothing to craft first, so getting started is about knowing how trophies come to you and what the pack's settings allow.[2][3]

First: get a trophy by killing mobs

In this pack, trophies drop from mobs that a player kills, because General.dropFromMobs is on. The chance is low for normal mobs: General.dropChanceMobs is set to 0.02. Bosses are much better, with General.dropChanceBoss set to 0.2.[3]

A Looting enchantment raises the drop chance, since General.applyLooting is on. Machines are out: General.allowFakePlayer is off, so fake players don't get trophy drops. Kill things yourself if you want a trophy.[3]

Watch out: Players don't drop trophies here. General.dropFromPlayers is off, and the config describes that feature as work in progress.[3]

Next: know what a dropped trophy looks like

The mod's block is called Trophy. Trophies dropped from mobs use the base block from General.defaultBaseBlock, which is set to a smooth stone slab. The default size (General.defaultScale) is 0.5 and the default height offset (General.defaultYOffset) is 0.5. The config notes say the offset should be 1.0 for a full block, 0.5 for a slab and 0.1 for a carpet.[2][3]

Then: adjust your trophies

You don't need to be an operator to change a trophy's settings, because General.allowNonOpEdit is on. The pack caps how big a trophy can get: General.maxSize is 20 and General.maxYOffset is 2,000.[3]

Item trophies slowly spin their displayed item, because General.rotateItemTrophies is on. Some mobs also keep extra data on their trophy, such as variants and collar colours. The list for that is in General.nbtMap.[3]

Unverified How to obtain a Trophy block on purpose (for example by crafting it or through commands) is not confirmed. No recipes for this mod's items turned up for this pack.

How does Jonn's Trophies work?

4 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Jonn's Trophies doesn't have machines, multiblocks, power or fluid handling in this pack, at least nothing the available sources describe. What the sources do cover is how trophies drop from kills and how they're displayed and edited, so that's what this section explains.[4]

How trophies drop

Tip: Because a normal mob only has a 0.02 drop chance, farming a specific trophy takes patience. Bring Looting, and aim for bosses if you want better odds, since they use 0.2.[4]

How dropped trophies look

A trophy dropped from a mob uses a base block, a scale and a Y offset from the config. In this pack the base block is set by General.defaultBaseBlock to Smooth Stone Slab. The scale from General.defaultScale is 0.5, and the offset from General.defaultYOffset is also 0.5.[4]

The config comment says the Y offset should match the base block: 1.0 for a full block, 0.5 for slabs and 0.1 for carpets. If you ever change the base block, change the offset too, so the mob doesn't sink into the base or float above it.[4]

There are upper limits on what you can set by hand. General.maxSize caps the size multiplier at 20, and General.maxYOffset caps the Y offset at 2000.[4]

Editing and item trophies

Trophy settings aren't locked to operators here. General.allowNonOpEdit is true, so non-opped players can change a trophy's settings.[4]

Item trophies show an item that slowly rotates, controlled by General.rotateItemTrophies, which is true in this pack. The mod's own interface text says any item can go in an item trophy's slot.[4][5]

Mobs with variants

Some mobs look different depending on stored data, such as a cat's variant or a wolf's collar colour. General.nbtMap lists the entity tags that get saved with the trophy so the right look is kept. The pack's list covers vanilla mobs like axolotls, cats, wolves, frogs, llamas, horses, foxes, parrots, pandas, mooshrooms and villagers. It also includes entries for Productive Bees, with the configurable bee type, and for Infernal Expansion, with the shroomloin type and basalt giant size.[4]

Unverified The sources don't explain how to craft or obtain trophy items, or how the in-game editing screen works. No recipes for this mod's items were available, so check in game before relying on any of that.

Which Jonn's Trophies config options matter?

5 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Everything for Jonn's Trophies lives in one file, config/trophymanager-server.toml, and all the options sit under the General group. Here's how this pack sets the ones you're most likely to care about.[4]

Drops from mobs and bosses

Player kills

General.dropFromPlayers is false, so killing another player won't give you a trophy. The config marks this feature as work in progress. General.dropChancePlayers is set to 1.[4]

Look and size of dropped trophies

Editing and limits

Saved entity variants

General.nbtMap is a comma separated list of entities whose NBT data must be saved with the trophy, in the format modid:entityid:tag. This is how a trophy keeps things like a cat's variant or a villager's data. The pack's list covers several vanilla animals and also includes entries from the productivebees and infernalexp namespaces.[4]
