What is Jonn's Trophies?
Jonn's Trophies is included in this pack at version 1.21.1-3.0.0, shipped as the file trophymanager-1.21.1-3.0.0.jar. It has been part of the pack since version 0.32 or earlier, so it's a long-standing member of the mod list rather than a recent addition.[1]
Unverified The sources for this guide don't describe what the mod does in gameplay, and they don't confirm any in-pack recipes, config options or quest book entries for it, so none are listed here.
How do you get started with Jonn's Trophies?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
The only detail I can confirm for this mod is a JEI display with the text "Any item can go here". It suggests that one of the mod's JEI entries has a slot where any item is accepted.[2]
Unverified The sources here do not show any recipe that produces this mod's items, and they do not show any quest in this pack that involves the mod. Because of that, this section has no recipe blocks and no first-items order.
How does Jonn's Trophies work?
4 parts
Jonn's Trophies has no machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation in the material I have. Everything revolves around one block, the Trophy, so this section covers how a trophy is set up, what it sits on, and how trophies drop.[2][3]
Editing a trophy
The trophy screen lets you choose a pose (Standing, Sitting or Flying), a size, a Y offset and a rotation, then confirm with Apply. Item trophies can hold any item, and General.rotateItemTrophies is set to true in this pack, so the item slowly rotates.[2][4]
Anyone can change a trophy's settings, not just operators, because General.allowNonOpEdit is true in this pack. Size is capped by General.maxSize at 20, and the Y offset by General.maxYOffset at 2000.[4]
When you break a trophy, it drops as a trophy item that keeps its custom name and custom data, so your settings should come with it.[3]
Base blocks
Both the block and item trophy_base tags point at the slabs tag, so slabs are what the mod treats as trophy bases. Trophies that drop from mobs use General.defaultBaseBlock, which is a smooth stone slab in this pack.[4][5][6]
The config notes that General.defaultYOffset should be 1.0 for a full block, 0.5 for slabs and 0.1 for carpets. This pack uses 0.5, matching the slab. Default size for dropped trophies is General.defaultScale, set to 0.5.[4]
How trophies drop
Mob trophies are on: General.dropFromMobs is true. A normal mob killed by a player has a 0.02 chance (General.dropChanceMobs), and a boss has a 0.2 chance (General.dropChanceBoss). Looting raises the chance, since General.applyLooting is true.[4]
The mod also has a per-entity drop rate data map. In the files I have, it lists only the ender dragon, with a drop rate of 1.0.[7]
Player trophies are switched off here. General.dropFromPlayers is false and marked as work in progress, even though General.dropChancePlayers is set to 1.[4]
Per-mob display settings
Some mobs have their own offset, rotation and scale in the mod's properties map so they display well on a base. For example, the ender dragon uses offset 0.8, rotation 180.0 and scale 0.1, while the ghast uses offset 1.4 and scale 0.4. Entries for other mods, such as Ice and Fire, Twilight Forest and Biomes We've Gone, only apply when that mod is loaded.[8]
Mobs whose looks depend on saved data, such as cat variants or villager data, are handled by General.nbtMap. It lists entity and tag pairs, for example the axolotl Variant, the wolf CollarColor and the panda MainGene, so the trophy keeps that look. The mod also ships its own nbt_map.json data file, but I can't confirm its contents here.[4]
How do you progress through Jonn's Trophies?
1 part
This one is short, because the mod data I can see doesn't describe a progression ladder. What it does show is how trophies work, and that's worth knowing before you start collecting.[3][7][8]
What the data shows
- When you break a placed Trophy, it drops itself and keeps its custom name and custom data, so a trophy you've set up doesn't lose its contents when you pick it up.[3]
- Any slab works as the base of a trophy, both as a block and as an item.[5][6]
- The Ender Dragon has a drop rate of 1.0 in the mod's drop rate map, and it is the only mob listed there.[7]
- Each supported mob has its own display settings for offset, rotation and scale. The Ender Dragon, for example, is shown with an offset of 0.8, a rotation of 180.0 and a scale of 0.1.[8]
- Entries for mobs from other mods, such as Ice and Fire dragons or the Twilight Forest Hydra, only apply when that mod is loaded.[8]
Unverified No tier system, quest chapter or crafting recipe for trophies could be confirmed from the available sources, so this guide doesn't describe a progression path for the mod.
Which Jonn's Trophies config options matter?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Everything for Jonn's Trophies lives in one file, config/trophymanager-server.toml, and all the options sit under the General group. Here's how this pack sets the ones you're most likely to care about.[9]
Drops from mobs and bosses
- General.dropFromMobs is true, so trophies can drop from mobs that a player kills.[9]
- General.dropChanceMobs is 0.02 for normal entities killed by a player. The allowed range is 0.0 to 1.0, so this is a low chance.[9]
- General.dropChanceBoss is 0.2 for boss entities killed by a player, a noticeably better chance than for normal mobs.[9]
- General.applyLooting is true, so the Looting enchantment raises the drop chance.[9]
- General.allowFakePlayer is false, so machines (fake players) don't get trophy drops. You'll have to do the kills yourself.[9]
Player kills
General.dropFromPlayers is false, so killing another player won't give you a trophy. The config marks this feature as work in progress. General.dropChancePlayers is set to 1.[9]
Look and size of dropped trophies
- General.defaultBaseBlock is minecraft:smooth_stone_slab, the block used as the base for trophies dropped from mob kills.[9]
- General.defaultScale is 0.5, the default size of those dropped trophies.[9]
- General.defaultYOffset is 0.5. The config notes say this should be 1.0 for a full block, 0.5 for slabs and 0.1 for carpets. If you change the base block, change this too.[9]
- General.rotateItemTrophies is true, so items on item trophies slowly rotate.[9]
Editing and limits
- General.allowNonOpEdit is true, so players without op status can change a trophy's settings.[9]
- General.maxSize is 20, the maximum size multiplier for a trophy.[9]
- General.maxYOffset is 2,000, the maximum Y offset for a trophy.[9]
Saved entity variants
General.nbtMap is a comma separated list of entities whose NBT data must be saved with the trophy, in the format modid:entityid:tag. This is how a trophy keeps things like a cat's variant or a villager's data. The pack's list covers several vanilla animals and also includes entries from the productivebees and infernalexp namespaces.[9]
