What is Farming for Blockheads?
1 part
This pack ships Farming for Blockheads 21.1.8, the NeoForge build for Minecraft 1.21.1. It has been part of the pack since version 2.2 or earlier, so it is an established part of the farming setup rather than a recent addition.[1]
The pack's quest book gives the mod a place in the "food_and_farming" chapter. There, the quest a quest in "?" has you obtain the Market. It unlocks after another quest in the same chapter, so you reach it as you work through the farming questline.[2]
Where it fits
The Market is the one item from this mod that the quest book asks for. If you follow the quests, you will meet it in the food and farming chapter.[2]
Unverified The sources I have don't describe what the Market does, what else the mod adds, or whether the pack changed any of its recipes or configs. They also don't confirm where the mod sits in the wider progression or on the ATM Star path, so check those in-game before relying on them.
How do you get started with Farming for Blockheads?
3 parts
The pack's quest book points you at the first block of Farming for Blockheads right away, so that's where we start. After that come the fertilizers, then the animal helpers.[2]
Step one: craft the Market
Your first stop is the Market. The quest a quest in "?" in the food and farming chapter asks you to get one, and it comes after another quest in that chapter. The Market also has trade entries for all three fertilizers, so it's the hub for the rest of this mod.[2][3]
Next: get your fertilizers
Next come the fertilizers. Green Fertilizer increases crop output, giving you a chance at a bonus crop. Red Fertilizer gives a chance at bonus growth. Fertilized Farmland can also turn back into regular Farmland, with a chance of that happening for each bonus it provides.[4]
The pack changed the crafting recipes for Green and Red Fertilizer, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults. These are the exact in-pack recipes:[3]

Crafting Shaped
| any red dye | any red dye | any red dye |

Yellow Fertilizer has a crafting recipe too, and the pack leaves that one as the mod made it.[3]

Step three: automate your animals
Once your crops are covered, move on to animals. The Chicken Nest collects eggs laid by chickens, and it only picks up eggs within a set range.[3][4]

Recipe id: farmingforblockheads:chicken_nest
The Feeding Trough automatically feeds nearby animals that are ready to mate. It only reaches animals within a certain range, and it stops feeding once there are too many animals of one type. That's handy for keeping a farm from getting out of hand.[3][4]

How does Farming for Blockheads work?
5 parts
Farming for Blockheads is a small mod, and the sources for this pack only cover part of it. This section sticks to what they confirm: the Chicken Nest, the Feeding Trough, the fertilizers and the Market. The sources don't describe any power, fluid or multiblock systems for this mod.[3][4]
Chicken Nest
The Chicken Nest collects eggs laid by chickens. It picks up laid eggs within a configurable range, so chickens near it don't need you to gather their eggs by hand.[4]
Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: farmingforblockheads:chicken_nest
This is the mod's own recipe, unchanged by the pack.
Feeding Trough
The Feeding Trough automatically feeds nearby animals that are ready to mate. Its settings limit it in a few ways. There is a range within which animals can be fed, and there is a maximum number of animals per type. Once that maximum is reached, the trough stops feeding. That cap keeps your pens from growing without limit.[4]

Fertilizers
The mod has Green Fertilizer, Red Fertilizer and Yellow Fertilizer. The sources explain what Green and Red do.[3][4]
- Green Fertilizer increases crop output. Its use has a configurable chance of giving a bonus crop.[4]
- Red Fertilizer has a configurable chance of giving a bonus growth.[4]
- The sources don't describe what Yellow Fertilizer does.[4]
Fertilized Farmland doesn't last forever. For each bonus it provides, there is a configurable chance that it turns back into regular Farmland, so expect to re-fertilize now and then.[4]
The pack changed the crafting recipes for Green and Red Fertilizer, so don't rely on the mod's defaults for those. The Yellow Fertilizer recipe is the mod's own.[3]

Market
The Market is a crafted block. The pack's recipe dump also lists Market entries for each of the fertilizers. Those entries show no item inputs, so what the Market charges is not confirmed here.[3]

Merchants
The mod also has merchants. Their possible names come from a configurable list. Another option treats merchants as babies on a technical level only, which can resolve exploits based on merchant death loot.[4]
Unverified The actual values for the ranges, the animal cap and the fertilizer chances are not shown in the sources here. The pack has no config files for this mod that were available, so check the mod's config in game before you plan a build around these numbers.
How do you progress through Farming for Blockheads?
3 parts
Farming for Blockheads has no long tier ladder in this pack. The quest book gives you one starting point, the Market, and the rest of the mod is crafted from the in-pack recipes below.[2][3]
Step 1: the Market
The "food_and_farming" quest chapter has a quest for this mod, a quest in "?". Its task is to obtain the Market, and it unlocks after another quest in the same chapter, a quest in "?".[2]

Animal helpers
The Chicken Nest and the Feeding Trough both use the mod's own recipes, unchanged by the pack.[3]

Step 3: fertilizers
The fertilizers are Yellow Fertilizer, Green Fertilizer and Red Fertilizer. The pack changed the Green and Red recipes from the mod's defaults, so don't rely on recipes from other versions. The Yellow recipe is the mod's own.[3]
Crafting Shaped
| any yellow dye | any yellow dye | any yellow dye |

The Market also has a trade entry for each of these fertilizers. The recipe dump shows no item inputs for these entries, so the cost can't be read from it.[3]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use Farming for Blockheads?
In this pack, Farming for Blockheads shows up in just one quest chapter: food_and_farming. There's a single quest there that involves the mod, so this is a short section.[2]
The quest is a quest in "?", which has no title in the pack. Its task is to get a Market, so you just need to have the Market in hand to complete it.[2]
This quest comes after another quest in the same chapter, with the ID 3EA883C0BB7BD38F. You'll need to finish that one first before this one unlocks. The sources don't say what that earlier quest asks for, so I can't tell you more about it.[2]
Unverified The sources don't show whether this quest gives a reward, or whether any other chapters use Farming for Blockheads items. The mod is also not on the ATM Star quest path.
What changed in Farming for Blockheads between versions?
1 part
All the Mods 10 4.5 ships Farming for Blockheads 21.1.8 for NeoForge 1.21.1. The mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 2.2 or earlier, so it's been part of the farming setup for a long time.[1]
Version bumps in the pack changelogs
- All the Mods 10 2.32: updated from 21.1.2 to 21.1.4.[5]
- All the Mods 10 2.36: updated from 21.1.4 to 21.1.7.[6]
- All the Mods 10 2.43: updated from 21.1.7 to 21.1.8, which is the version you get in 4.5.[7]
Unverified The pack changelogs only list version numbers, and there are no stored changelogs for the shipped jars. What changed inside the mod between these versions (fixes, new features, recipe or balance changes) is unverified, so check the mod's own release notes before assuming anything.
