What is Crafting on a Stick?
2 parts
Crafting on a Stick is a small quality-of-life mod that lets you craft without placing a crafting table on the ground. It puts your favourite workstations on a stick, and you use them from your hand to open their screens.[1]
The star of the show is the Crafting Table, which works as a portable crafting table. No more running back to a block every time you need to craft something![1][2]
Workstations you can carry
- Crafting Table[1]
- Anvil[1]
- Loom[1]
- Grindstone[1]
- Cartography Table[1]
- Stonecutter[1]
- Smithing Table[1]
Where it fits in the pack
This is an early-game convenience mod for anyone who is tired of walking back to their workbench. The pack introduces it in its first quest chapter: the quest "Crafting, but on a Stick" quest unlocks after the quest Putting the Craft in Minecraft, and you complete it by getting a Crafting Table.[2]
This pack ships version 1.21.0.2 of the mod.[3]
How do you get started with Crafting on a Stick?
3 parts
Crafting on a Stick turns workstations into items you carry. Hold one in your hand and you can open that workstation anywhere, with no block to place.[1]
Step 1: the Crafting Table on a Stick
Make Crafting Table first. It's the one the pack's quest book points you to, in the quest "Crafting, but on a Stick" quest in the chapter "Chapter 1: The Beginning", which comes after "Putting the Craft in Minecraft". The quest sums up the idea: no more running to a block just to craft.[2]

The pack changed this recipe, so follow this in-pack version rather than the mod's default.
The pack also adds woodcutting recipes for this item. They use the sawmill woodcutting recipe type and accept logs and wood from many Biomes We've Gone tree types, such as Jacaranda and Palm. Here is one example.[4]
Woodcutting (sawmill)

Step 2: set up quick access
You can put a workstation on a stick in the Curios slot and press a keybind to open it. The default key is V.[1][2]
Step 3: add more stations as you need them
The mod adds six more workstations on a stick, and each one opens the matching workstation when you use it in hand. Craft them when you start needing that station on the go.[1][4]
These recipes are the mod's own, and the sources show no pack changes to them. Here they are.[4]

The pack also adds a woodcutting recipe for the loom on a stick, using Wigglewood from the Undergarden.[4]

How does Crafting on a Stick work?
4 parts
This mod is simple. It has no machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or automation that the sources describe. It adds handheld versions of vanilla workstations, so you can craft without placing a crafting table on the ground.[1]
Using the sticks
Hold one of the items in your hand and use it to open the matching workstation. The mod adds seven: the crafting table, anvil, loom, grindstone, cartography table, stonecutter and smithing table.[1]
- Crafting Table[1][4]
- Anvil, plus Chipped Anvil and Damaged Anvil versions[1][4]
- Loom[1][4]
- Grindstone[1][4]
- Cartography Table[1][4]
- Stonecutter[1][4]
- Smithing Table[1][4]
Curios slot
The mod is compatible with Curios. Put your favorite workstation on a stick in the designated curios slot and press the keybind to open it. The default key is V.[1]
Crafting them
Each one is a shaped crafting recipe that combines a stick with the matching vanilla workstation. Here is the stonecutter version as an example.[1][4]

What the pack changes
The pack changed the crafting table on a stick recipe. It takes a stick plus any block from the crafting tables tag, so modded crafting tables can be used too. The other workstation recipes in the sources are unchanged mod recipes.[4]

The pack also adds sawmill woodcutting recipes that turn logs and wood of several modded tree types into the crafting table on a stick. The sources show Jacaranda, Palm, Skyris, Willow, Maple, Mahogany, Witch Hazel, Sakura, Pine, Fir, Aspen and Redwood. Here is one of them.[4]

How do you progress through Crafting on a Stick?
3 parts
There is no tier ladder here. Crafting on a Stick gives you portable versions of workstations, and the sources for this pack show no upgrade path between them. What the pack does give you is one quest that starts you off and a changed recipe for the portable crafting table.[2][4]
Step one: the quest
The only quest for this mod is "Crafting, but on a Stick" quest, in Chapter 1: The Beginning. It unlocks after Putting the Craft in Minecraft, and its task is to get the Crafting Table. The quest describes it as a Portable Crafting Table, so you no longer have to run to a block just to craft.[2]
The portable crafting table recipe
The pack changed this recipe, so don't rely on the mod's default. The recipe below is the one that applies in this pack.[4]

The pack also adds sawmill woodcutting recipes for the portable crafting table. They take logs and wood, stripped and unstripped, from many modded tree types, with one recipe per wood type. Here is one example.[4]
Woodcutting (sawmill)
Recipe id: sawmill:crafting_on_a_stick_crafting_table_0
Added by the pack. Other wood types have their own version.
Other portable workstations
The rest of the mod's items use the mod's own recipes, and the sources don't show the pack changing them. They are the Stonecutter, Loom, Grindstone, Cartography Table and Smithing Table. The anvil comes in three forms: Anvil, Chipped Anvil and Damaged Anvil. The stonecutter recipe is shown below as an example.[4]

The pack adds one more sawmill recipe, this time for the portable loom, which takes Wigglewood logs and wood from the Undergarden.[4]
Added by the pack.
How does Crafting on a Stick work with other mods?
3 parts
Crafting on a Stick works fine on its own, but this pack also hooks it into other mods' wood. The pack adds woodcutting recipes (the sawmill:woodcutting type) that turn logs from two outside mods into portable stations. That gives you a second way to get them besides the standard stick-and-workbench crafting.[1][4]
Crafting Table on a Stick from biomeswevegone wood
Every wood family from the biomeswevegone mod has its own pack-added woodcutting recipe for Crafting Table. Each recipe accepts the log, the wood, and the stripped versions of both. Here's the Jacaranda one as an example:[4]
Woodcutting (sawmill)
Recipe id: sawmill:crafting_on_a_stick_crafting_table_0
The other families follow the same pattern. They include Palm, Willow, Maple, Mahogany, Sakura, Pine, Fir, Aspen, Redwood, Cika, Ironwood, Cypress, Ebony, Zelkova, Baobab, Holly, Skyris, Spirit, Witch Hazel, White Mangrove, Rainbow Eucalyptus, and both Blue and Green Enchanted. Florus is the odd one out, since it uses stems instead of logs: Florus Stem and Florus Wood, plus their stripped versions. Because the recipes are pack-added, you won't find them in the mod's own defaults.[4]
Loom on a Stick from Undergarden wood
The Loom gets one pack-added woodcutting recipe. It uses Undergarden's wigglewood: Wigglewood Log, Wigglewood.. Wood, and the stripped versions of both.[4]
Curios and the questbook
The mod supports Curios. You can put a workbench on a stick in the designated Curios slot and press a keybind to open it, and the default key is V.[1]
The quest "Crafting, but on a Stick" quest in Chapter 1: The Beginning points you at the Crafting Table on a Stick and mentions the same Curios trick. It's also a good reminder that you can set a keybind for it.[2]
Unverified The sources only show pack recipes linking the Crafting Table on a Stick and the Loom on a Stick to other mods. Whether the Anvil, Grindstone, Cartography Table, Stonecutter or Smithing Table on a Stick have any pack-specific recipes or quests is unconfirmed.
Which All the Mods 10 quests use Crafting on a Stick?
1 part
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
This mod only shows up in one quest in the pack, and it sits in the very first chapter, "Chapter 1: The Beginning". So you'll meet it early in your run.[5]
Chapter 1: The Beginning
The quest is "Crafting, but on a Stick" quest. It unlocks after you finish the quest "Putting the Craft in Minecraft", so you'll do that one first.[5]
The task is simple: you submit a Crafting Table. The quest text describes it as a portable crafting table, so you don't have to run back to a block every time you want to craft.[5]
Unverified The sources don't say what rewards this quest gives, or whether any later quests depend on it.
What changed in Crafting on a Stick between versions?
Crafting on a Stick has been in All the Mods 10 since the early days. It was first included in version 2.2 or earlier, so it has been in the pack for most of its life.[3]
The only recorded version change came in All the Mods 10 2.47, when the mod was updated from 1.21.0.1 to 1.21.0.2.[6]
All the Mods 10 4.6 ships Crafting on a Stick 1.21.0.2, the same version the mod was updated to in 2.47.[3][6]
Unverified The changes inside the mod between 1.21.0.1 and 1.21.0.2, such as bug fixes, new features or tweaks, can't be confirmed because the mod's own changelogs aren't available for this guide.
