What is Additional Enchanted Miner?

2 parts

Additional Enchanted Miner adds a set of advanced miners in the spirit of BuildCraft's quarry. The big twist is that these machines can carry enchantments, so they can collect resources automatically with Fortune or Silk Touch.[1]

This pack ships version 21.1.107 of the mod, built for NeoForge 1.21.1. It has been in the pack since 0.42 or earlier.[2]

What you get

  • Automatic mining with enchantments: Fortune for more drops, or Silk Touch to collect blocks as they are.[1]
  • Fluid handling: the QuarryPlus machine removes fluids when you pair it with Pump Plus or Pump Module.[1]
  • The more advanced Chunk Destroyer removes fluids without any extra settings.[1]
  • Power: machines accept both EU and Forge Energy, so they plug into most power setups you might already have.[1]

Who it is for

If you want a hands-off way to dig out an area and gather ore with Fortune or Silk Touch, this mod is for you. It also handles the annoying part, flooded quarry holes, with the pump options above.[1]

Tip: The mod requires Scalable Cat's Force on every platform, so make sure it is installed if you ever build your own setup around this mod.[1]

Unverified Where this mod sits in the pack's progression is not confirmed by the sources I have, and so is its relationship to the ATM Star path. I can't say when you are expected to reach these machines.

How do you get started with Additional Enchanted Miner?

5 parts

Additional Enchanted Miner adds miners in the style of BuildCraft's quarry. They collect resources automatically, and they can use Fortune or Silk Touch. Everything in this mod lives under the quarryplus namespace. Here's the order I'd tackle things in.[1]

Step 1: Make a Marker Plus

Start with the Marker Plus. It's the cheapest item in the mod and the basic building block of this setup. The recipe is below.[3]

If you want a more flexible way to define an area, you can turn it into a Flexible Marker. Its tooltip shows the area as two sets of coordinates. You can also make a Chunk Marker from a marker or from a flexible marker.[3][4]

Step 2: Craft the Quarry Plus

The Quarry Plus is the main machine. In the sources, its only recipe is one the pack added itself, so don't expect the mod's default recipe. Check the recipe below before you start gathering materials.[3]

Machines in this mod accept both EU and Forge Energy, so you'll need to power the quarry.[1]

Step 3: Add a pump for fluids

Fluids get in the way when you mine deep. The Quarry Plus removes them automatically when it has a Pump Plus or a Pump Module. The Quarry Pump Module is the one with a recipe in this pack.[1][3]

Later: Chunk Destroyer

The Chunk Destroyer is the more advanced machine. It's crafted from a Quarry Plus, so build that first. It also removes fluids without any extra settings.[1][3]

Unverified Power requirements, how to set the mining area with markers, and any config options for this mod in the pack are not covered by the sources, so check them in-game. No quests in the pack involve this mod.

How does Additional Enchanted Miner work?

5 parts

Additional Enchanted Miner adds advanced miners in the style of BuildCraft's quarry. They can collect resources automatically with Fortune or Silk Touch. The mod also requires Scalable Cat's Force. The main machine here is Quarry Plus, and most of the other items are modules or helpers around it.[1]

Power

The machines accept EU and Forge Energy. noEnergy is false in this pack, so No Energy mode is off and your miners need a real power supply.[1][5]

Quarry Plus has an energy buffer set by powerMap.quarry.maxEnergy, which is 10,000 here. The Chunk Destroyer buffer is 50,000, but that machine is switched off in this pack (see the warning below).[5]

The config has a set of cost entries for the Quarry Plus. All of them are at the mod's defaults in this pack, so nothing was rebalanced. The main ones are:[5]

Getting the Quarry Plus

The pack adds its own crafting recipe for Quarry Plus, built from high-tier pack materials. Check the recipe below rather than relying on what you remember from the mod alone.[3]

Watch out: The pack turns off the Chunk Destroyer, so Chunk Destroyer is disabled. The mod shows a "DISABLED. Please enable it in config." message on items that are switched off in the config. The mod's recipe for it is still listed, but you can't rely on it in this pack.[3][4][5]

Fluids and pumps

The Quarry Plus removes fluids with a Pump Plus or a Pump Module. The Chunk Destroyer would remove fluids without any setup, but it is disabled here. In this pack, Quarry Pump Module is enabled through enableMap.pump_module.[1][5]

The mod's lang file also describes a standalone pump block that you place above a fluid block. Its GUI has a delete toggle. When it is on, fluids are sent to the void, which is handy for removing water. When it is off, fluids are moved to a tank. I can't confirm from the pack data whether you can obtain that block here.[4]

Markers

There are three marker items: Marker Plus, Flexible Marker and Chunk Marker. The Flexible Marker's tooltip shows an area as two sets of x, y and z coordinates, and it can also show a remote position together with its dimension. You can convert between the Flexible Marker and the Chunk Marker with the recipes below.[3][4]

Unverified The sources don't explain how to set up a quarry area, how the Status Checker, Quarry Y Setter and Enchantment Mover work, how modules attach to machines, how mined items are output, or how to automate item and fluid handling. They also don't give energy input rates. I've left these out rather than guess.

How do you progress through Additional Enchanted Miner?

4 parts

The Quarry Plus line in this pack is a short ladder: markers first, then the quarry itself, then the Chunk Destroyer on top. The modules and utilities branch off alongside it. Every step below has its exact in-pack recipe underneath, so you can plan your crafting before you start.[3]

Unverified The sources I was given don't show any quests for this mod, so there is no quest-guided path here. The order below follows the recipes only.

Tier 1: Markers

Start with the Marker Plus. It's the entry point of the whole mod, and most of the other items here are built from a marker, so craft a few.[3]

Tier 2: The Quarry Plus

The Quarry Plus is where this pack differs from the mod's defaults. Its recipe is added by the pack itself, so don't trust a recipe you remember from the standalone mod. Check the recipe below before you commit resources.[3]

Pack-added recipe, not the mod default.

Tier 3: Modules and utilities

Once you have a quarry, you can add modules. All four of these recipes are the mod's own, unchanged by the pack.[3]

Three utility items round things out: the StatusChecker, the Quarry Y Setter and the Enchantment Mover. They are cheap to build next to the modules, so make them whenever you need them.[3]

Tier 4: The Chunk Destroyer

The top of the line is the Chunk Destroyer. Its recipe takes a finished Quarry Plus as an input, so you can't skip the pack's custom quarry recipe. This recipe is the mod's own.[3]

Tip: Most of these recipes accept any marker type, so you don't need to build a specific one for each item. Use whichever marker you have.[3]

How does Additional Enchanted Miner work with other mods?

1 part

Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.12 guide

The clearest link between Quarry Plus and the rest of the pack is its crafting recipe. The pack adds it with a custom shaped recipe, so it is not the mod's default.[6]

That recipe uses items from three other mods: Allthemodium, Just Dire Things and Productive Lib. The Quarry Plus is a late-game machine in this pack, because you have to get through those mods' gear first.[6]

Pack-specific recipe that combines items from several mods.

Energy and dependencies

According to the mod's project page, its machines accept both EU and Forge Energy, and it requires Scalable Cat's Force on all platforms. That is general information about the mod, so I haven't confirmed how it behaves with the power sources in this pack.[1]

Unverified No quests in this pack involve the mod, and no other recipes linking it to other mods were found in the sources, so any further integrations are unconfirmed.

Which Additional Enchanted Miner config options matter?

4 parts

Good news: almost all of quarryplus.toml is left at the mod's defaults in this pack. The only changes are in the machine toggle list, for the Advanced Quarry and the Remove Bedrock module.[5]

What the pack changed

Unverified The config comments don't spell out what a false value does in game. Going by the option names, it most likely switches the Advanced Quarry and the Remove Bedrock module off in this pack, but that isn't confirmed. Check in game before you plan a build around either one.

Machines left on

The pack keeps these set to true, which matches the defaults: enableMap.quarry, enableMap.mover, enableMap.chunk_marker, enableMap.flexible_marker, enableMap.exp_module and enableMap.pump_module. enableMap.repeat_tick_module is false, which is also the mod default.[5]

Energy costs (all default)

The power numbers for the Quarry and the Advanced Quarry are untouched. The Quarry has powerMap.quarry.maxEnergy at 10,000, and the Advanced Quarry has powerMap.advQuarry.maxEnergy at 50,000.[5]

Other options

noEnergy is false, so the No Energy mode is off. removeBedrockOnNetherTop is false, so bedrock at y=127 in the Nether is not removed. debug is false. rebornEnergyConversionCoefficient stays at 0.0625, but its comment marks it as Fabric only. All of these are at the mod defaults.[5]

What changed in Additional Enchanted Miner between versions?

1 part

All the Mods 10 1.0 ships Additional Enchanted Miner 21.1.107, the NeoForge build for Minecraft 1.21.1. The mod was already in the pack by version 0.42 or earlier. I have no pack changelog entries for this mod, so everything below comes from the mod's own changelogs.[2]

Recent mod releases

  • 21.1.102: Adds a "No Energy" mode.[7]
  • 21.1.103: Adds a storage meant for debug use, and a marker log for the Status Checker. Both are mostly useful for troubleshooting.[8]
  • 21.1.104: Adds a tooltip on the generator to make clear the block is for creative. The Fabric recipe now uses Obsidian tags, which needs Fabric 0.105.0+1.21.1 or newer. That change targets the Fabric version, and this pack uses the NeoForge build.[2][9]
  • 21.1.105: Adds the Chunk Destroyer, which the changelog labels experimental.[10]
  • 21.1.107: Fixes a bug where the quarry accepted more energy than its capacity in one go. This is the version in the pack.[2][11]
Tip: If you try the Chunk Destroyer, remember the mod's changelog calls it experimental, so don't build anything you can't afford to lose around it.[10]

Unverified No changelog for version 21.1.106 was available, so anything it changed is unconfirmed.
