What is Pickle Tweaks?
2 parts
Pickle Tweaks is a Vanilla+ style mod: lots of small, useful features instead of one big system. This pack ships version 9.0.7, and every feature can be switched off individually in the mod's config file.[1][2]
What it adds
- Crafting grid tool repair, so you can fix broken tools and weapons with their repair materials, just like an anvil.[1]
- Paxels (a combined axe, pickaxe and shovel), sickles and scythes. Scythes harvest and replant crops in an area and also work as an AOE weapon.[1]
- Right click crop harvesting, which harvests and replants a fully grown crop.[1]
- Watering cans that speed up crop growth in an area, in a basic 3x3 and a Reinforced 7x7 variant.[1]
- Flint and Emerald tools, plus Night Vision Goggles, an Item Magnet, Diamond and Emerald Apples, and meshes for making Flint from Gravel.[1]
- Tooltip extras: mining speed and level on tools, and the harvest level of a block in its Jade tooltip.[1]
Where the quest book puts it
This pack's quest book touches the mod in two chapters, both in the group "The Basics". In "Basic Armor" (chapter 8 of 54), the quests "Flint Armor" quest and "Emerald Armor" quest ask you to get the full Flint and Emerald armor sets that the mod adds. The book's text calls the Flint set probably the first armor you will get, since flint is easy to come by. It describes the Emerald set as having stats similar to diamond armor for very little cost, as emeralds are easy to get.[1][3][4]
In "Basic Tools" (chapter 11 of 54), a quest in "Basic Tools" asks you to obtain the Flint Pickaxe and is listed as Tier 3. a quest in "Basic Tools" asks for the Emerald Pickaxe and is listed as Tier 4. Both come after the chapter's opening quest, "Basic Tools!" quest, and the book marks the pickaxe and sword quests there as optional.[1][3]
Only some of the Basic Armor quests are visible to me, so there may be other Pickle Tweaks quests in the book that are not covered here.[4]
How do you get started with Pickle Tweaks?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
Pickle Tweaks adds Vanilla+ style tools, armor and handy gadgets, and in this pack you meet it right at the start. Flint is the starting material, emeralds take over later, and the farming helpers come once you have crops. The pack changes the mod's recipes, so the recipe blocks below show the pack's own versions.[1][5]
Flint Shears
Your first Pickle Tweaks item is the Flint Shears. The quest "Collecting Leaves" quest in Chapter 1 says they take just 2 Flint and work like normal Shears, only cheaper. You need them to get Leaves, and Wool if you need it.[6]

Meshes and Flint
The mod's project page says meshes are used to craft Flint from Gravel. The pack has its own recipe for the Mesh.[1][5]
Flint pickaxe and armor
Once you have Flint and a wooden rod, make the Flint Pickaxe. The Basic Tools chapter has a quest for it (Tier: 3) and another for the Emerald Pickaxe (Tier: 4).[5][7]

Next comes armor. The quest "Flint Armor" quest in the Basic Armor chapter calls it probably the first armor you'll get in this pack, because flint is pretty easy to come by. It asks for the helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots.[8]
Step up to emerald
The quest "Emerald Armor" quest says Emerald armor has stats similar to diamond armor but is basically free, because emeralds are easy to get. That makes it a natural upgrade over flint.[8]

Farming and quality-of-life items
When you start growing crops, craft a Watering Can. The mod's project page lists a basic (3x3) variant and a Reinforced (7x7) one. To use a can, fill it by right-clicking a Water source block, then hold right-click on a crop. The quest a quest in "Mystical Agriculture" explains this.[1][9]

How does Pickle Tweaks work?
6 parts
Here's the thing to know before you go looking for machine GUIs: Pickle Tweaks is a Vanilla+ mod. It's built from tools, armor, small items and gameplay tweaks, not from machines. The mod's own description lists its features, and this section walks through how those work in this pack.[1]
Tool tweaks
- Crafting grid repair: you can repair broken tools and weapons in a crafting grid using their repair materials, much like an anvil.[1]
- Tool breaking tweak: tools and weapons become ineffective 1 use before they break, so you get a chance to repair them.[1]
- Tool uselessifier: specific tools can be set up so they can't break blocks or deal damage. Affected items carry tooltips such as "This tool cannot mine anything." and "It can only be used for crafting."[1][10]
- Tooltips: tools show their mining speed and mining level, and bows show how much valid ammo you carry.[1]
- Right click harvesting: right clicking a fully grown crop harvests and replants it.[1]
Sickles and scythes
Sickles mine plant material blocks in an area. Scythes harvest and replant crops in an area, and they also work as an area weapon. The mod has both in several tiers, and this pack's recipes cover the Flint and Diamond versions.[1][10][11]
The Netherite versions are made at a smithing table with a netherite upgrade template and a netherite ingot. The base tool can be a Diamond Scythe or Diamond Sickle from this mod. The tag these recipes use also lists the Mystical Agriculture diamond versions as optional entries, so those work if Mystical Agriculture is present.[11][12][13]

Flint and emerald tools
The mod adds Flint and Emerald tools. Their mining strength is set by block tags: blocks that are the wrong tier for a stone tool are also wrong for flint, and blocks that are wrong for a diamond tool are wrong for emerald. In practice, flint tools mine like stone and emerald tools like diamond.[1][14][15]

Watering cans, goggles and the magnet
- Watering Can: increases crop growth speed in an area. The basic version covers 3x3 and the Reinforced version covers 7x7.[1][10]
- Night Vision Goggles: grant night vision while worn. There is a basic and a Reinforced variant.[1][10]
- Magnet: attracts items and experience orbs to you.[1][10]
- Diamond Apple and Emerald Apple: apples that give additional buffs.[1][10]
Fuel pieces and meshes
Coal and charcoal pieces cook 1 item each. In this pack, one coal or charcoal crafts into 8 pieces.[1][11]
The pack changed this recipe so one coal makes 8 pieces.
Meshes are used to craft flint from gravel. The pack's Grass Fiber Mesh is made from Grass Fiber and a wooden rod.[1][11]

Blocks
Smooth Glowstone is made by smelting glowstone. If you mine it with Silk Touch it drops itself. Without Silk Touch it drops glowstone dust instead, with Fortune adding a bonus, and the amount is capped at 4.[11][16]
The coloured cobblestones come in every dye colour and share one tag. In this pack each is crafted from cobblestone and a matching dye, giving 8 blocks per craft. Mining one drops the block itself.[11][17][18][19]

Unverified The mod's description says every feature can be turned off individually in its config file. The sources here include no config file for this mod in the pack, so which features are enabled, and the tool uselessifier list, are not shown.
How do you progress through Pickle Tweaks?
5 parts
Pickle Tweaks adds its own tool and armor steps that sit between the vanilla tiers: flint at the start, then scythes and sickles at every material, emerald as a cheap diamond-style set, and a netherite smithing upgrade for the scythe and sickle. Every Pickle Tweaks recipe in this pack is flagged as changed by the pack, so craft from the recipe blocks below rather than from memory of the mod's defaults.[11]
Where the quest book puts it
- Chapter 1: Starting out (group Skyblock Quests, chapter 2 of 54): "Flint" quest comes after the gravel quest, and "Collecting Leaves" quest follows it. The text of 11 of this chapter's 46 quests is not included here, so check the quest book for those.[20]
- Basic Armor (group The Basics, chapter 8 of 54): "Flint Armor" quest and "Emerald Armor" quest sit alongside the vanilla and modded armor sets.[4]
- Basic Tools (group The Basics, chapter 11 of 54): a quest in "Basic Tools" and a quest in "Basic Tools" both come after the chapter's first quest. The book marks the pickaxe and sword quests in this chapter as optional.[3]
Flint: your first tier
The Flint Armor quest calls it probably the first armor you will get in this pack, because flint is pretty easy to come by.[4]
The Chapter 1 flint quest says flint comes rarely from breaking gravel or from sieving blocks. The next quest says 2 flint make Flint Shears, which you need for collecting leaves.[20]

Flint also covers a full set of tools: Flint Sword, Flint Axe, Flint Shovel and Flint Hoe, plus a Flint Scythe and Flint Sickle. The armor is Flint Helmet, Flint Chestplate, Flint Leggings and Flint Boots.[11]
The wood to netherite ladder
Pickle Tweaks adds scythes at several steps: Wooden Scythe, Stone Scythe, Golden Scythe, Iron Scythe, Diamond Scythe, Emerald Scythe and Netherite Scythe. Each has a matching sickle, such as Iron Sickle and Netherite Sickle.[11]
For reference, the Basic Tools chapter lists the wooden pickaxe at Tier: 1, the stone and golden pickaxes at Tier: 2, the iron pickaxe at Tier: 3, the diamond pickaxe at Tier: 4 and the netherite pickaxe at Tier: 5.[3]

Emerald: diamond-style gear for cheap
The Emerald Armor quest says the set has stats similar to diamond armor but is basically free, as emeralds are easy to get.[4]
The tools match: the Basic Tools chapter puts the Emerald Pickaxe at Tier: 4, the same as the diamond pickaxe. The mod's tag of blocks that emerald tools cannot mine correctly points at the diamond tool list.[3][14]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Pickle Tweaks?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
Pickle Tweaks shows up in five quest chapters in this pack. Its items are the early flint and emerald gear, plus a watering can and two special apples. Here they are, chapter by chapter.[6][7][8][9][21]
Chapter 1: Starting out
Your first Pickle Tweaks quest is "Collecting Leaves" quest. It unlocks after the Flint quest and asks you to hold Flint Shears and oak leaves. The quest says that with just 2 Flint you can make the shears. They work like normal Shears but are cheaper, and you'll want them for leaves and wool.[6]
Basic Tools
Untitled quests in this chapter ask for Pickle Tweaks pickaxes. Both unlock after the chapter's opening quest. a quest in "Basic Tools" asks for the Flint Pickaxe and is listed as Tier 3. a quest in "Basic Tools" asks for the Emerald Pickaxe and is listed as Tier 4. So the flint pickaxe is the earlier step and the emerald one comes after it.[7]
Basic Armor
This chapter has armor quests for a flint set and an emerald set, and each one asks for the full set. "Flint Armor" quest wants the Flint Helmet, Flint Chestplate, Flint Leggings and Flint Boots. The quest calls it probably the first armor you'll get, since flint is easy to find.[8]
"Emerald Armor" quest asks for the Emerald Helmet, Emerald Chestplate, Emerald Leggings and Emerald Boots. According to the quest text, this set has stats similar to diamond armor, and emeralds are easy to get.[8]
Mystical Agriculture
a quest in "Mystical Agriculture" is an untitled quest that unlocks after the chapter's opening quest. It accepts either the Mystical Agriculture watering can or the Watering Can. To use the can, fill it by right-clicking a water source block. Then hold right-click on a crop to water everything in its area of effect.[9]
The quest also says Essence Watering Cans can auto-water. Shift-right-click the can in the air to toggle it, and the can looks enchanted while it's on.[9]
Food and Farming
a quest in "Food and Farming" is titled "Crystallized apples" and unlocks after the "Notch" apple quest. You can complete it with the Emerald Apple, the Diamond Apple, or a relic apple from another mod. The quest describes them as superfoods that give a wide array of buffs, depending on the apple.[21]
