What is Farming for Blockheads?
1 part
Farming for Blockheads is the farming and food helper mod in the pack. The pack ships version 21.1.13 for NeoForge 1.21.1. It has no in-jar guidebook, so the pack's quest book is the best place to see how it fits in.[1]
In the quests, the mod shows up in the "Food and Farming" chapter and in a side quest in the "Apothic Spawners" chapter. It is aimed at players who want to speed up crop growth, collect eggs without effort, or buy supplies when a Skyblock start leaves you short of animals.[2][3]
What it adds in the quest book
- The Market gives you a villager that sells items for emeralds. The quest "Purchasing Farm Supplies" quest says it is usually 1 Emerald per item.[2]
- The Market also helps with animals in a Skyblock world. According to the quest a quest in "Apothic Spawners", you can buy Spawn Eggs for certain animals at the cost of a Diamond.[3]
- The Chicken Nest is the quest book's answer for egg collection. It is the task item of "Egg Automation" quest.[2]
- Red Fertilizer increases the speed of growth. It conflicts with green fertilizer. See a quest in "Food and Farming".[2]
- Green Fertilizer increases output per harvest. It conflicts with red fertilizer. See a quest in "Food and Farming".[2]
- Yellow Fertilizer can be used with the other two types. Its quest a quest in "Food and Farming" hints that it is meant to stop you from wrecking your crops when you jump on them.[2]
The fertilizer quests unlock after the "Improving Growth" quest, so they come once you start looking at growth speed. The Market quest comes after "Mary had a Little Lamb", which makes it an early-to-mid option for getting animals and supplies.[2]
Unverified The sources do not show any pack-specific changes to this mod's recipes or configs. They also do not show whether it sits on the ATM Star path.
How do you get started with Farming for Blockheads?
3 parts
In a skyblock start, animals and farm supplies are hard to come by. Farming for Blockheads helps with both, so this is the order I'd make things in.[2][3]
Craft the Market first
Start with the Market. The quest "Purchasing Farm Supplies" quest sits after "Mary had a Little Lamb" in the Food and Farming chapter. It says the Market gives you a villager who sells you items for emeralds, usually just 1 Emerald per item.[2]
The Market also solves the animal problem. The quest a quest in "Apothic Spawners" in the Apothic Spawners chapter explains that you can buy Spawn Eggs of certain animals there at the cost of a Diamond, and the quest hands you a Diamond to get started.[3]
Animal helpers
Once you have chickens, the Chicken Nest collects the eggs they lay. The quest "Egg Automation" quest covers it and comes after "I'm not gonna make an Egg pun".[2][4]

The Feeding Trough auto-feeds nearby animals that are ready to mate, which makes breeding a lot less hands-on.[4]

Boost your crops with fertilizer
The fertilizer quests all come after the Improving Growth quest in the Food and Farming chapter. Each fertilizer does something different:[2]
- Red Fertilizer increases the speed of growth and conflicts with green fertilizer (a quest in "Food and Farming").[2]
- Green Fertilizer increases output per harvest and conflicts with red fertilizer (a quest in "Food and Farming").[2][4]
- Yellow Fertilizer is for when you're tired of ruining your crops by jumping on them, and it can be used with the other two types (a quest in "Food and Farming").[2]
The pack changed the crafting recipes for red and green fertilizer, so don't rely on what you remember from the base mod. Yellow fertilizer still uses the mod's own recipe.[5]

The pack also changed the Market's own entries for all of these fertilizers, so you can buy them there as well as craft them.[5]
How does Farming for Blockheads work?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mons 1.0.0-rc.6 guide
Farming for Blockheads is a small mod built around four blocks and items you place in your farm: the Market, the Chicken Nest, the Feeding Trough and three fertilizers. Nothing here needs power or fluids. Everything works by placing a block and letting it do its job.[6][7]
The Market
The Market has its own screen. It shows a cost for the selected entry and says "No Selection" until you pick something. A Merchant entity also exists in the mod, and it can be given a name from a configurable list of names.[6]
What the Market sells is controlled by groups. The built-in default groups are seeds, saplings and the Minecraft fertilizers. The mod has options to include groups, exclude groups (exclusion wins over inclusion), and to turn default or optional presets on or off. For example, excluding the seeds group would remove every seed from the Market. This pack has no config file for the mod, so I can't tell you which groups or presets are changed here.[6]
The pack also adds Market entries for all three fertilizers. The recipe dump marks each one as changed by the pack, and shows no item inputs for them. The Market prices themselves are not listed in the sources.[7]
Chicken Nest
The Chicken Nest collects eggs laid by chickens. It picks up laid eggs within a certain range, and that range is a config option. The pack's value is not confirmed.[6]

Feeding Trough
The Feeding Trough automatically feeds nearby animals that are ready to mate. Two config options shape it: the range in which animals can be fed, and a maximum number of animals (counted per type) after which the trough stops feeding. This is handy for breeding, because it stops a crowded pen from growing forever. The pack's actual values are not confirmed.[6]

Fertilizers and Fertilized Farmland
Fertilizer turns normal farmland into Fertilized Farmland. The mod has healthy, rich and stable variants of this block, and all of them show up as "Fertilized Farmland" in game.[6]
- Green Fertilizer increases crop output. A config option sets the chance of a bonus crop.[6]
- Red Fertilizer gives a chance of bonus growth. A config option sets that chance.[6]
- Each time the farmland provides a bonus, there is a chance it turns back into regular Farmland. A config option sets that regression chance.[6]
Unverified What Yellow Fertilizer does, and how the healthy, rich and stable farmland variants relate to each fertilizer, is not explained in the available sources. The pack's chance values are not confirmed either.
The pack changed the crafting recipes for Green Fertilizer and Red Fertilizer, and each craft makes 4. Yellow Fertilizer's crafting recipe is the mod's own, and it also makes 4.[7]

Merchant tweak
There is one more option for merchants: when it is on, they count as babies on a technical level only. The mod describes it as a way to resolve exploits based on merchant death loot.[6]
How do you progress through Farming for Blockheads?
3 parts
Farming for Blockheads has no formal tiers in this pack. What the quest book gives you is a short path: get a Market first, then move on to fertilizers and chicken automation. Here is how that path goes.[2][3]
Step 1: The Market
The quest "Purchasing Farm Supplies" quest in the Food and Farming chapter is where you pick up the Market. It comes after the quest "Mary had a Little Lamb". The quest says the Market gives you a villager who can sell you nearly anything for emeralds, usually 1 Emerald per item.[2]

The Market matters even more in a skyblock world, where animals are hard to find. The quest a quest in "Apothic Spawners" in the Apothic Spawners chapter says it sells spawn eggs of certain animals for a Diamond each, and the quest gives you a Diamond to get started.[3]
Step 2: Fertilizers
The fertilizer quests in the Food and Farming chapter all come after the Improving Growth quest, and each one asks you to obtain a different fertilizer. The pack changed some of these recipes, so don't assume the mod defaults apply.[2][5]
- Red Fertilizer (quest a quest in "Food and Farming") increases growth speed and conflicts with green fertilizer. The pack changed its crafting recipe.[2][5]
- Green Fertilizer (quest a quest in "Food and Farming") increases output per harvest and conflicts with red fertilizer. The pack changed its crafting recipe too.[2][5]
- Yellow Fertilizer (quest a quest in "Food and Farming") is the answer to annihilating your crops when you jump on them, and it can be used with the other types. Its crafting recipe is the unchanged mod recipe.[2][5]

The Market also has entries for red, green and yellow fertilizer, and the pack changed all of those entries as well.[5]
Step 3: Chickens and animals
The quest "Egg Automation" quest points you to the Chicken Nest for what it calls humane egg collection. It comes after the quest "I'm not gonna make an Egg pun" in the same chapter.[2]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Farming for Blockheads?
2 parts
In the pack's quest book, Farming for Blockheads shows up in the Food and Farming chapter and in the Apothic Spawners chapter. Most of it is in Food and Farming. Each quest below is unlocked by an earlier quest, so I'll give what each one asks for and what it follows.[2][3]
Food and Farming
The fertilizer quests all unlock after the quest named Improving Growth, so you can take them in any order once that one is done. Each one asks you to obtain a different fertilizer.[2]
- a quest in "Food and Farming" asks for Red Fertilizer. The quest text says it increases the speed of growth and conflicts with green fertilizer.[2]
- a quest in "Food and Farming" asks for Green Fertilizer. The quest text says it increases output per harvest and conflicts with red fertilizer.[2]
- a quest in "Food and Farming" asks for Yellow Fertilizer. The quest jokes about not annihilating your crops when jumping, and says this one is usable with the other types.[2]
"Egg Automation" quest comes after the quest named "I'm not gonna make an Egg pun". It asks you to obtain a Chicken Nest, and the quest calls it humane egg collection.[2]
"Purchasing Farm Supplies" quest comes after the quest named "Mary had a Little Lamb". It asks for a Market. The quest text says the Market gives you a villager who can sell you anything for emeralds, usually 1 Emerald per item.[2]
Apothic Spawners
a quest in "Apothic Spawners" also asks for a Market, and it unlocks after another quest in that same chapter. The quest text explains that animals can be hard to find in a Skyblock world, so the Market lets you buy Spawn Eggs of certain animals at the cost of a Diamond. The quest also says it gives you a Diamond on the house.[3]
